Take care TXL. You were my place where I could withdraw when I wasn't feeling well, you were my therapy.
Why a referendum if you don't listen to the people anyway.
Thank you for the great time.
Rest in peace!!!!!

And you d think Berlin is the capital of Germany ahah. I ve simply never seen an airport that miserable and dirty. It look like a subway station from the 80 s, it smell like it as well. People are packed on the floor everywhere, if you ve never seen a cattle ranch, that s exactly how it looks like when they switch cows from one area to the next. I will pass the fact that it has something like 6 shops and 3 restaurants for the thousands of people transiting through whatever they call this place. I will also pass on the 5 euros coffee that you swore you wouldn t buy but will eventually do out of absolute boredom. Personnel is of course unfriendly and won t hesitate talking to you like a child when they process the fact you don t speak their language. This place is but a stain on Germany, I m shocked that the government is letting such a dirty place be what is possibly the first thing a visitor will see when coming to Berlin. Knowing how heavy the taxes are on German salaries, it makes you wonder.... maybe they should spend a little less in lobster dining and French wine at the reichtag and a bit more on improving the life of their citizen and fellow visitors.....

With one of the worst airports in the world. Baggage claim is slow. It works better at large airports. Capital with the lowest provincial level !!

A worker, no longer the youngest and strongest, had to carry all the baggage of our flight from 5 baggage cars onto the conveyor belt, which also failed several times. The suitcases came so in 20 second intervals to their annoyed recipients. A disaster, as saved here on the backs of the employees!

Once and never again!

Once and never again!
Sad, this is a capital city airport. Airport is very small. Acts neglected. If the airport is destined to continue, you are unlucky because you have to "leave" the airport and have to return to a security check. Drinks and co. which I have bought for expensive money in another airport, I can throw in the garbage!
Suppose we buy a bottle of champagne for expensive money and have to change in Berlin Tegel to our onward flight.
The expensive champagne bottle, you can throw in the trash! It is best to bring your own food, because the airport has nothing to offer and is so expensive, as I get at other airports threefold! If it goes avoid this airport! The one star is too much itself.

The airport is very easy to reach by public transport (bus), is relatively central and unbeatable for Berlin's northern districts.
It is very difficult to drop someone off there by car because there is no short-term parking zone.
The airport is small and narrow, but everything can be reached in short ways.
The waiting areas in the terminal are small and uncomfortable.
If you land in the evening (10.30 p.m.) together with 4 other planes, you sometimes have to wait for a taxi for half an hour.

Prepare for a long wait at the security check near your boarding gate. It took me 50 minutes and around half of the passengers are still waiting. Now my flight is delayed because of this. This is the 3rd time I fly from this airport and the waiting seemed to get longer every time. When delay became a norm you should definitely check what s wrong with this airport.

Slowest security controls ever, no mercy with people that are in a hurry just ask to the people to let you pass first they said. In spain when someone really need a little bit of help is easy to find, here a bunch of squared minds.

Absolute disaster. Too small luggage belt and two flights are handled. Abnormal waiting times. Overflow passport control on arrival in Tegel. That was guaranteed the last holiday of Tegel went. I prefer to go to Frankfurt !!!!!

The worst of the airports frequented. Airplanes that are not in contact with where the need to take buses, an apocalyptic slow delivery of luggage ... if you can, flee this airport, supposed to serve the capital of Germany!

You may well love Berlin Tegel Airport upon landing. The street is clearly visible when you re picking up your luggage so the experience is quick and efficient. Grab your case and you re more-or-less outside seconds later.

However, your flight out is unlikely to be anywhere near as pleasant. Long check-in/baggage drop-off queues (we waited in line for over 90 minutes), very poor facilities.

Worst of all is the hell that is the Berlin TXL Express bus service from the airport to the city. There s no train service to Tegel Airport as it s due to be replaced by a modern airport so your choice is taxi or bus. Pay the extra and TAKE THE TAXI, at least during the busy summer months. The TXL Express bus has no space for luggage, you ll be packed in like sardines in a bus way too small for the amount of passengers. There are also several stops on the way (which are appreciated as at least the doors open to let some air in!). Don t assume that as the service runs every 6 minutes, it will be in any way comfortable.

-Would love to have more options for food (healthier if possible)
-The staff in Terminal A (1,2&3) is just AWESOME! Super nice and they are having fun even if standing all day! This is the kind if people you want to see every day =D , I loved that they even congratulate and announce a birthday from their staff, really cool, keep it!

You have to wait over an hour for your luggage, your own suitcase is not in sight yet, but two other flights are quickly packed onto the belt and the crowds are an absolute no-go. That about Corona is intolerable! Close that thing and blow it up that a jet can never take off from this "airport" again !!!

For food is provided point in the airport one finds Starbucks and citizen King as well as various other stalls.

Never again. Security check over 30 minutes. Then only two snacks and a shop. Water between 3 and 3,60 for 0,5ltr., Pretzel 2.20 and Butterbrezel 3,90 ... Meatbread 6,50 here you get ripped off!

Dirty, overcrowded. Also: after landing you'll have to wait about 10-15 minutes just to get some stairs attached to the aircraft. Every time. The official reason is "not enough personnel" (since 2 years?).

Too small. In the security area you are crammed like in a cattle truck. No fresh air supply, so the air is stuffy. If you then wait and find out for the 3rd time that a flight is being postponed, you have no options to smoke a cigarette!

Berlin's excuse for an airport. There is not even the possibility to wait while seated. No seats on which one can wait in peace without consumption compulsion on his flight. The prices here are completely outrageous and come to around twice the normal place in Berlin. The staff is extremely rude, making fun of stranded passengers. Avoid!

On the luggage you wait here longer than the short-haul flight has taken. Especially great for nervous travelers, because TXL is probably the only airport in Europe, on which there is no toilet on arrival.

It can be a small airport but it's very close to the center. It does not have any special amenities, but a delight. There are restaurants, kiosks, small shops to spend your time. It is clear as it is and very easy to orientate.

It is an unacceptable irreverence that as a passenger of an airport in Germany in 2018 you have to wait more than an hour for your luggage.
A miracle that no one climbs the barricades.
Airport operators or airport builders can obviously afford everything.
There is a need in this segment to live in a country like China or Greece. In China, airports will be built in two years (and not in 20 years like the BER, with an honorable group of profiteers crunching billions of dollars in state and citizens billions, damaging Germany's reputation in a singularly damaged way, and no bother or anyone lock someone in).
In Greece, the suitcase always comes after exactly 20 minutes, because you can adjust the clock.
Shame on you loser!

I have been in Third World countries airports that are light-years ahead of this place.
It is very close to the city center, which is an undeniable plus, but it is also clearly unfit to serve a city such as Berlin. Go there early as you'll find more queues you can think of. Appalling lack of infrastructure, coupled by staff unprepared to handle basic tasks. And, once you finally reach your gate and you want to relax...3,5 euro for 0.5l water!

The exit is before the baggage claim, which leads me to go out early. Then I won't come back to the luggage. Wait 2 hours and pay 15 more. This can be organized better. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. That makes up for everything.

I had to count to 10 before writing this otherwise this review would just be an incoherent foul mouth rant. This is not a good airport. The signage is not at all clear. I had a great deal of difficulty finding my way around. The architecture and design is cluttered. There is no prominence to the important parts of the airport ; a sandwich shop is as prominent as an information desk. The guts of the building such as Aircon pipes are exposed and further leads to the visual confusion . I may have been unlucky but the staff I came across ranged from bored and unfriendly to begrudgingly helpful with very little in the way of smiles. It's also grubby and over crowded.

Tegel was really strange,it was just an unpleasant experience moving through there. The buses to the Hauptbahnhof was a madness... People pushing and cutting the que to board as if they were being chased by zombies or something.
It just felt so out of place for a city like Berlin. The next time I head back there, I'll take the train from Frankfurt or elsewhere.

Horrendous. Followed the exit signs to leave the terminal, only to find out the baggage pickup was elsewhere and I was not allowed to return inside the terminal to collect my baggage. Made to wait in lost and found to collect my baggage. Staff extremely unhelpful, had to ask multiple questions before they would tell me what to do to try and collect my luggage. Absolute disgrace.

This airport is one of the top here in Germany, it's perfectly organized with its terminals and parking lots.
The airport contains several terminals and for each terminal there's a parking lot.
The arrival and the depart are very quick, especially the depart services, at the beginning I thought a sum of 20 persons will take an hour to get their tickets, but it was only a 20min.
Have a good flight

I would like to thank the Security Check: there is a comment without a check closed, although the people are already up to the entrance and only 2 had more open. So what is that? Furthermore: currently it is so that every 2 weeks when I land in Tegel either the guide, the bus driver, the staircase driver etc missing. I mean a plane falls so suddenly from the sky and you can not plan the staff before .....

For a short stay of a w-e, this small airport provides quick access to Berlin, 20 minutes by bus and you have arrived. I did not have the pleasure of wasting my time while waiting for my luggage I only had hand luggage! no delay on my flights ... after actually it's tiny, when I read the comments for travelers in transit I feel like it's hell ... but for me everything is fine past.
