BEWARE if your realtor is recommending you anyone from this company!!! They do a terrible job, and won't take responsibility for their mistakes.
They are very friendly, acting professional, marketing scam, but in essence they do a poor-to-unacceptable job. Mostly scamming new homeowners and recommended by realtor... (obviously working together to hide major defects). Big items they missed:
1. A serious grading problem resulting in moisture damage, and huge horizontal cracks in the basement. The inspector simply said "basements are wet, can't predict the future". The report says "normal cracks" and "satisfactory condition". Satisfactory for whom??? Would the inspector live there? I doubt it.
2. Their deceiving tactics are making a big deal of minor items, to seem like they are really careful and to distract attention from actual issue. Shame!
Hope karma gets you or your loved ones the same type of treatment.

Excellent home inspection service! We hired this company based on its Yelp and Google Reviews (as well as its comprehensive website) to do the home inspection on our first home. Derek arrived 15 minutes prior to schedule, and in a professional manner introduced himself and started answering our questions on the process. He inspected the home for 4 hours, turning on and testing every faucet and appliance, opening every window, and navigating the attic and crawl spaces. As we followed him from time to time, he was patient and answered all our questions completely and honestly. By the end, we really felt that Derek had thoroughly inspected the whole home, with an unbiased perspective, and walked us through an honest and extremely thorough report (which was delivered that same evening). In addition, Derek did not see any evidence of mold, determined that we did not require a mold inspection, and refunded us the amount for this add-on service. My husband and I were very impressed by Derek's work, and would recommend the Fletcher company and their trustworthy, professional, and knowledgable team.

Matt Westlund did the most outstanding inspection job I have experienced as a realtor in Mi & Fl. for 30 years. Matt was extremely through and explained everything in detail. Matt is very professional & found things no other inspectors did in the past. Matt explained the various outcomes and the solutions with instructions. I highly recommend Matt Westlund . He is TERRIFIC.

Had Kenny @ Fletcher inspect a property for me. Very personable guy and knowledgeable, even gave me a ride home across town after the inspection. Unfortunately... he lost all the photos on his camera. First attempt was to send me an inspection report minus all photos. Obviously, that didn't work... simply wasn't what I paid for. Upon raising this issue he went back and took exterior photos. I said... nice try, but that still isn't the service I paid for. Ultimately I got a sort-of (with some pics, but missing many) full and complete report... except 2 weeks after my inspection contingency passed. So basically I got nothing useful. Inspection period passed without a useful inspection report in my hands. I requested a partial refund as I was sure this was not their normal course of business... and got no response to that.

Net/net: nice guys but never using them again. They see no problem with delivering reports 2 weeks late and don't seem to realize how that impacts inspection windows leading up to a close.

Derek was professional and knowledgeable. As a first-time home buyer, I appreciated the feedback Derek provided to me and the detail in his report. Couldn't be happier.

We had a great experience with Dan Woolsey from Fletcher. He was on time, courteous, and was more than happy to explain what he was checking and finding to my fiancee and I (first time homebuyers) as he conducted the inspection.

Dan's report was delivered the same day as the inspection and was incredibly thorough. In addition to a detailed breakdown of inspection items by category (Grounds, exterior, plumbing, etc.), the findings were also summarized by severity at the beginning of the report (Not operating, potential safety hazards, future expenses, possible improvements, etc.). This was very helpful to us in understanding the priority we needed to give to each item and was also very helpful in our negotiations with the seller.

The detailed category breakdown of inspection items contained plenty of pictures, and each one was helpfully captioned, so it was easy to tell which were just general photos of the grounds and which pointed out concerns to be addressed. Dan went above and beyond in adding arrows and highlights to the pictures to further indicate what the elements of concern in each picture. In some cases, he even turned off lights in rooms and shone a flashlight on the area of concern while taking the picture to further highlight relevant information.

It was a lot of little things like that that added up to a great inspection experience. I was impressed from start to finish, but I was even more thankful that we ended up going with Fletcher when we ended up seeing a report on the same property from a few months earlier that had been provided to the seller by one of the other inspection companies we'd been considering. Dan's report was far more detailed, the pictures were far more helpful, and Dan took the time to find plenty of little things that the other inspector had passed over. Even the little things like loose connections in several electrical outlets around the house that don't necessarily carry a lot of weight in negotiations are just good to know so that we can take care of them when we move in and know that our home is as safe and well maintained as it can be.

Would absolutely recommend Fletcher to anyone needing an inspector and will certainly be using them again in the future.

First time home buyer, and l was lucky enough to work with Kenny! He walked us step by step through the inspection. Answered all of my questions and educated me on multiple things. Kenny has helped me out tremendously after the inspection with making sure everything was done properly, and up to code. If you want someone who takes pride in their work and does a thorough job go with Kenny McLaurin!

I was very impressed with the Inspector Kenny at Fletcher. He was super knowledgable, thorough, and friendly. He spent 2 hours and used all the time. He got on the roof, in the attic crawl space, and spent the time to explain what I could do to keep things in the best condition. I would use him/them again and recommend if someone asked.

We used Fletcher Inspections twice now. The first time we had Matt Westerlund. I cannot say enough about his expertise and professionalism. He spent all of three hours at the house, not only inspecting everything but taking the time during and at the end to go over everything he found with us.

The second time we used Dan Wooly. Again cannot say enough about these two. Dan was also there for all of three hours. Constantly going over what he found with us. Made sure we understood everything before he left. Both Matt and Dan were VERY thorough.

Dan was efficient, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail, not to mention perfectly personable and professional. We moved to Michigan from Florida, so basements, furnaces, sump pumps, etc. are all brand-new concepts. Dan took the time to answer all my questions (there were lots) and to show me how these things work, what to look for, and what type of professional can help me if they break. I received my report the same night, complete with photos and explanations. Dan was not afraid to get into the difficult spots (multi-level attic and behind the sump pump with a big scary spider), so I felt assured we had received a thorough inspection. I highly recommend Fletcher Inspections!

Kenny performed the inspection on my first home. The home was built in 1922 so obviously had a lot of underlying issues. He was not only friendly and professional but performed the inspection diligently and the report he gave on issues was extremely detailed. Absolutely using Kenny for future inspections and referring him to others.

I would give 10 stars if I could. We had two different inspections (Jeff and Kenny), and both were awesome! The first (rightfully) told us NOT to buy that house - that was so valuable for us and saved us a lot of future headaches! Jeff found things the homeowners tried to conceal, but thankfully he went meticulously through the whole house! The second inspection helped us determine that this other house had great bones, and only a few things needed to be fixed up to be near perfect. Kenny got into the smallest crawlspace ever made, and into both attics which were also difficult to access! He spent 3 hours with us and we never felt rushed. Kenny's input was spot on, his report was very quick, and he was so thorough and polite. I would absolutely recommend these gentlemen and Fletcher Inspections!!

I had them do a inspection on a home i was purchasing and now it goes bad the inspector did not notice a huge leak that is going to cost a few thousand if not more to fix also part of my deck is coming apart at the ledger board did not mention that and I also had to point out to the guy where there was a issue that he did not notice then when I called to figure it out with them they had me call their warranty service and want you to do all these things but I have 0 time to get a bunch of estimates when my house is leaking like crazy so if I were you don't use this company not good at all

This company has gone above and beyond for us. Their receptionist did a lot of leg work with the city to find documents on the sewer and was very quick to call me with answers. Our inspector, Kenny, was so professional and very knowledgeable. He was caring and patient with all of my the questions to make sure I would understand the report and he was honest about what he saw. He even helped us by pointing out the way the furnace, fireplace, sump pump and water heater all worked. I would highly recommend them to anyone and if we ever need another inspector they will be our first call.

Dan was extremely thorough. He didn't miss a thing and saw small details I would have never noticed. Dan explained everything to me very clearly and didn't mind answering all of my questions. He was prompt with his report and had it back that same night which is so important when you are working with deadlines during the home purchase process. Dan went above and beyond and exceeded all of my expectations. I highly recommend Dan from Fletcher Inspections.

Like some of the others, we were extremely disappointed in our inspection service. Several big ticket items have come to light that in our opinion should have caught during the inspection.

1. The inspection report said that one of the toilets was loose, and needed to be fixed. However, he didn't indicate which one it was, just included a picture (there are 3 in the house). The home owners fixed "a" toilet, but not the right one. We couldn't remember which one was bad, so believed them that they had fixed the one indicated in the report. They didn't - the one in the report will require a new subfloor, and no plumber would have put a new toilet on that rotting floor. It also tells us that there was a second toilet that was loose, because a plumbing company did come out and fix one.

2. The sellers had painted the deck, but it's clear now that some of that paint has worn off how much rot there is - not damage, but rot. One would think that an inspection would be able to notice something, but his report doesn't indicate any wood damage on the deck.

3. Yesterday we had to call an emergency roof as we had water leaking from the roof into the kitchen. When the roofer came out, he said that a) the roof had 2 layers (the inspector said there was only one), and b) the top layer was put on incorrectly; not staggered appropriately, causing channels to to let water run into the house. The inspection report said "Roof appears to be in satisfactory condition."

The inspector also said we "probably had 10 years" we could get out of it; the roofer yesterday said we'll be lucky if we get 1 or 2. If the true condition of the roof and the chimneys had been known, we would have negotiated based on that fact, and likely would have brought the price down.

The inspector only poked his head into the attic space, he did not go up. He remarks are "Monitor the discoloring of the sheathing on the north side of the attic." If he had gone up, he would have seen the significant rot and water damage that is only too clear to see.

4. The roofer also said that the flashing around both chimneys were incorrectly installed and there is leaking around flashing on one of them. He said both chimneys will need repair work - soon. The inspection report said the chimneys were fine.

5.We also asked for the pest inspection, but that's a joke. Carpenter ants and mice in the house, nothing noted on the inspection. It was very clear, however, when we started to clean the kitchen, that there were mouse droppings everywhere in the kitchen. There was clear evidence of mice activity in the attic; once again, if he had gone up, he would have found it.

We've only been in the house for 4 months, so who knows what else we may find! Would not recommend them for inspection services.

Update 12/6/16: After 2 roofing quotes and 2 for the chimneys, we're looking at over $15,000 that was completely unexpected. If the inspector had properly noted the roofing/chimney issues, we could have negotiated with the sellers. What a bummer.

In the process of purchasing a home, we had Kenny of Fletcher Inspections examine two different houses. Both times he did an outstanding job. He is thorough ... both inspections were about three hours long ... and he is not afraid to get into every nook and cranny. In the first instance, he saved us from buying a true money pit ... finding roof/structural issues that were not visible to the naked or untrained eye. In the second home, he helped us identify multiple safety issues that we've been able to have the homeowner correct, saving us thousands of dollars. I really can't say enough about Kenny, who is polite, personable, willing to explain everything and clearly has pride in his work. Reports were delivered to us within hours and were full of detail. I will recommend him to everyone I know who's looking to buy.

Total pro's! We had Kenny from Fletcher as our inspector for a property we were looking to buy. He found a small addition that was added to the back of the house that didn't have a foundation under it. Very thorough and knowledgeable, will use again for our next inspection.

I have used Fletcher inspections to attempt to purchase two homes. The first home was a fixer upper, and I knew what I was getting myself into. Even with a fixer upper, I wanted the inspector to tell me the house was structurally solid. I rememeber the inspector saying, "this house has good bones." It went well, and has been a good home. We were happy with the purchase. On the next house we had inspected, we decided not to purchase the home because of the astute, stellar inspection of Kenney at Fletcher Inspections. The house that we put an offer on, however, was too much money based on what was found during the inspection. This house had questionable structural work, a non-professional roof that was already leaking, and an addition put on the house that was questionable at best. Kenney at Fletcher Inspections spotted these things promptly and referred us to professional contractors that were able to give us a better idea of what we were getting into. The quote for the repairs to fix everything was $90,000. We walked away from the deal and were so grateful to have used Fletcher Inspections for our home buying needs. If Kenney had not found these things, I do not know where we would be if we ever tried to sell that home.

Where to even start!!!! Kenny has been helping our family for about 2-3 years with home inspections. You enter the home buying process & hear how horrific it can be with things like - home inspections. Thankfully we were referred to Kenny and he has saved us so much heart ache, disappointment and of course money. When things weren't up to standard we were taught how to go about fixing it, what he suggested and so forth. Fletcher is so thorough that they had caught such minor things that ultimately led to bigger issues(like a bad septic & drain field) we have used fletcher for 3 homes now & will ALWAYS use them. Kenny & fletcher inspection have become part of our family... top notch service & communication.

Had an inspection with Jeff yesterday for a house I'm purchasing and it was a great experience. Jeff was VERY thorough, and the report that was posted a couple hours after the inspection was comprehensive and detailed. All problem areas noted in the report had accompanying photos, and Jeff pointed out and explained these problems to me during the inspection, so I knew what I was looking at when reading the report. I read other reviews that mentioned inspectors starting early, and sure enough when I showed up 15mins early Jeff was already there working on the exterior inspection. He gladly took me back around to see the areas he had already inspected, though. Bottom line, I'm glad I went with Fletcher!

I have used Fletcher Inspections three times over the past nine years. Twice for homes in Michigan and most recently for a home in Ohio--yes, Fletcher can inspect in both states! Fletcher once saved me from buying a bad home--he found mold, carpenter ant damage, and water damage! In the two homes I purchased, with a clean bill of health, Fletcher thoroughly inspected the homes and wrote a very detailed and well documented (with many photographs) report. He also provided great advice on home maintenance. It's also great that the owner, Jeff Fletcher, peer teaches around the country--he and all his employees know their stuff! There is no one better!

Inspector was early and did the majority before scheduled appointment. Said everything was great and took multiple meaningless pictures.

1st time home buyer.Our Inspector was there before the scheduled time. He was very thorough and told us every detail of what he was going to do. Jeff was very pleasant and took his time explaining everything. Jeff made us feel at ease with our home inspection.

Danny did our inspection a few weeks ago. He was thorough and made sure he showed us anything he was concerned about, and also made suggestions about things we could do to the home. Beware - poor inspection missed substantial issue, company won't make right.

I was directed to this agency by my realtor. When I arrived on the day of inspection, inspector Kenneth McLaurin of Fletcher was already done with his inspection. He gave a positive comment about "the house is in overall very good condition. Everything potentially problematic has been photographed and will be listed in a thorough inspection report". The "thorough inspection report" turned out to be a simple report structured as a list of condition checkboxes without much descriptive comments. Such a non-detailed report built from a template would be easily completed within 20 minutes. However the inspector missed a major issue. My nightmare began 3 weeks later when the contractor discovered the substantial amount of BLACK MOLD accumulated in the frames of the high-up windows in the living-room, which can easily be seen from a ladder. With two young children at home this is a great concern to me. The inspection report mentioned nothing about mold issues or any picture of it. The inspector failed to inspect the home in a reasonable professional manner and missed obvious defects that should have been uncovered by any inspector or any person with normal vision. I talked to both the inspector and the owner of the company. They are not willing to cover for the damage or to be held liable for anything to any extent. I have to go through a huge trouble of damage control because they did not do their job in the first place, and would not own up to any mistakes afterwards.

I am filing formal complaints to the official bureaus. I don't think I've ever written a bad review about a place, but this company did a poor job and won't stand behind their work.

Kenny inspected our home in Hartland, to say he did a great job would be a massive understatement! My inspector was very nice and appeared to be very thorough. However he missed some major electrical concerns and some extreme structural issues in our garage. We would most likely not have purchased the house if we were correctly informed of these issues. This has cost us a lot of money that we don t have.

I would like to take this opportunity to highly recommend Kenny McLaurin. My wife and I have had the opportunity to use Kenny on two separate occasions for a home inspection. Our first experience with Kenny was approximately a year and a half ago. Not having any referrals for a home inspector, we came upon Fletcher Inspections by random luck. Immediately I was impressed by how courteous and accommodating the office was in scheduling our inspection. In fact, Kenny specifically changed his schedule around to fit our time deadline. At the inspection, Kenny demonstrated a very high level of knowledge and professionalism. He did not rush through any part of the inspection. In fact, he took extra time to answer any questions we had and his knowledge of code requirements was impeccable. He was extremely respectful and conscious to the owners property to leave each area he inspected to the exact condition as it had been found. Also, Kenny did not hesitate to physically inspect areas such as the attic and roof that some inspectors would only visually inspect from a distance and I was absolutely amazed at his eye for detail and ability to point out areas of concern that a good part of inspectors would most likely overlook. Lastly, his written report was promptly delivered to us and in a format that was easy to read and provided a wealth of information. Unfortunately, that home purchase fell through for us.
Recently, we entered into another purchase agreement for a home. I was completely relieved to find that Kenny was available to provide that home inspection for us. Quality, trustworthy company! We needed a somewhat last minute inspector and Donna was able to quickly coordinate to have Jim on site with less than 48 hr notice. Jim arrived early, explained what he would would do, gave us a great "how to" book on all sorts of house stuff then he got to work. He went all over the house, efficiently checking everything and having me come look at a few things as he found items. He explained showed me where the shut off valves were and did a check of the circuits, faucets, drains, lights, doors... just very thorough! It took about 3 hours and I had the full report with pictures in about an hour.
