Try the firecracker shrimp appetizer! Friendly service and delicious food!

I've been going to Fat Dragon weekly for at least two years. The food , staff, patrons and environment are amazing. I highly recommend Fat Dragon.

Amazing as always. Our server David was wonderful. The food was fresh, came out quick, tasty, had lots of pop and was well priced. Shout out to Kylie for an all around great experience with the whole family.

Great alternative to your classic Chinese takeout restaurants that are at every corner or stripmall. Modern atmosphere with a fresh take on Chinese dishes that are surprisingly tasty. Staff are great and bar has really good selections. If your bored of the regular old Chinese places you always see or looking for something new and refreshing then give this a shot. I'm definitely glad I did.

Large shareable portions! Food was great but the service was kinda slow. I guess that is to be expected on a Sunday evening.

Great Asian restaurant with a cool bar and cocktail menu. I ve been here five or so times and it s always been excellent. The food is super tasty, they change up the menu and have a good mix of shareable starters, ramen, seafood and meat main dishes.

That was quite possibly the BEST Chinese food I've ever had! What's even better is it heats up well the next day! Tastes the same after being microwaved! I had the Basil Beef. It was savory, satisfying -- just as the menu described! The La Bella Rose was a really great drink, too. Yum!!

GREAT CHINESE FUSION. This spot has a very hip, bar type of feel. Its kind of in a hole in the wall location, but everything inside is clean. Literally everything I've ordered here has been fantastic. Stop reading this review. GO. NOW. lol

Went to Fat Dragon for the first time this weekend and it was amazing. Food, service, and atmosphere were awesome. Shout out to Hannah for ordering the green beans as an appetizer which turned out to be amazing. The vino was good too. Sheesh!!!

Love this place! The food, ambience and service is fantastic. We went on a weekend night and we had a 45 min wait so we went to buskeys around the corner and I received a text when our table was ready. First time taking the girlfriend and we will definitely be back!

The fat dragon always has a good variety of rotating beers in the menu is always good when you have a craving for Chinese food

Very fresh & delicious food. Service was outstanding too! I substituted extra veggies, instead of fries, in my fish fry salad.

Richmond needed a quality Chinese food place. I really haven't had anything close to this good around town in some time now.
Citrus Chicken and Basil Beef were fantastic. Also had bbq pork fried rice.
Definitely going back to try their Ramen bowls.

This food tore my stomach up. I mean it was so disctusing and nasty and greasy. It made me throw up I would never ever eat here again.

Food is so good. Always busy though but the service is good and the wait to eat wasn't terribly long

Literally the best Chinese food I ve ever had. I came to Virginia and just wanted to find a unique place to eat and I looked up Chinese restaurants in Richmond and this place popped up. I really enjoyed the dry rub wings and the large portion size to price ratio! Please try the basil beef if you really like black pepper and don t be afraid to bring friends or family because you guys can share portions!

Not your typical chinese food, and its AMAZING.
I wish we were locals because we would definitely be regulars here.
The menu items listed spicy actually have spice!! The atmosphere is nice and the service is great.

My teen daughter decided on Chinese and googled the "best Chinese places in Richmond, VA". Fat Dragon popped up with good reviews so she called to make a reservation. I absolutely loved this place and our waitress, Kat. They called to confirm our reservation a few hours prior and accommodated our increase for additional seating. They offered to refrigerate my daughter's cake, asked if we needed candles and brought out a knife dipped in warm water for the cake cutting after coming out to clear the tables as we wrapped up dinner - which was delicious! I had everything we needed but I appreciated the waitress offering and going above and beyond to ensure all 20 of us were well taken care of.

This was my first time at Fat Dragon. Wednesday is half off bottle wine. Calamari was really good. We at the table had the chicken and rice noodles, beef and jalapenos fried rice and fried tofu, all very good. Thomas W. Was great.

Food was good and flavorful. Waitress was really positive and friendly.

The atmosphere is hip, with a great cocktail menu. The appetizers--esp the chili dumplings and chicken wontons--are awesome, but pack a lunch with the amount of spice.

I highly recommend for happy hour and appetizers.

Lots of food, good taste, good price, and friendly service! Drinks were a hit or miss with our group. About half liked their drink, the other half...not so much!

They carry uncommon beer like St. Bernardus Christmas Ale & Gingerbread Stout.

This place is awesome.On Friday night it gets pretty packed. Sometimes,it's hard to find parking but the food is worth it.If you are new to Richmond or just visiting this should be the first thing you try.

Spicy dumplings are spectacular and we can't get enough of this place

Great asian fusion restaurant. Good food and drinks. Very edgy decor. Great service though. Good location also. Didnt get to stay long because of a storm but will definitely go back. I reccomend going of your looking for a laid back chinese food bar

Yum! I went for my friend's birthday, and not only was the food delicious, but they were able to accommodate a large group without trouble. I got the basil beef and it was delicious!

Great tasting food, some items with sophisticated flavors, and great prices! Great atmosphere too.

The 1st time I went it was incredible. Food was better than the Boathouse and felt like I was seriously underpaying because of how good the Numb Numb Steak was. Amazing ambience and excellent quality staff who were very helpful when I asked for recommendations. But the past two times I went it was more average when it came to the main course. Definitely try the wonton soup! Absolutely BEST wontons I've ever had in Richmond!

Outstanding lunch. The selections was well prepared and flavorful. The soup and spring roll was one of the best. Fried rice was flaky not clumped and the best I have had, paring well with the beef.

Service was excellent.

Absolutely worth a visit. Best Modern Chinese in the city. Have never had a bad experience.

Only con- please turn the AC up. We were sweating since we got in. But the food, amazing all the time. Get the dumplings, you won't be dissapointed. Great drink selection too!

Love. Love. Love. Food great, atmosphere great, staff even greater. Bartender with dreads is the coolest! There was an issue with my check the next day. Guy named Brandon went above and beyond to get it fixed! I would recommend but I want to keep it all to myself lol

My wife and I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was cozy and open.In the future when I go I plan to get a noodle dish because they look delicious. I had the fish which was awesome but too much red pepper flakes for me because I'm not big on spicy food and I strongly suggest dining there you'll enjoy.

Excellent selection of beer. Numerous vegetarian options and very reasonable prices for the area. Service is quick and staff is friendly. Good flavor to the sauces used. No wait the few times I've been but I can see the place getting crowded on weekends. Parking is limited to the street and can be a challenge.

This is not your ghetto chinese spot. The food is really really good. Big portions. I was able to eat and still have some for tomorrows lunch as you see in the pics. Craft beer and wine is nice as well. The price is a little higher but its worth it. For what you get the price is right. This is my only experience but it seems It's better to have reservations if possible but its worth the wait(If theres one)

I used to love coming here. Great food. Great cocktails.

But today.....just blah. Effing blah. The Chinatown ramen tasted stale. Just awful. Everyone at the table agreed....something is off.

Cool atmosphere and really good food. I've been here 5+ times and have always been impressed. I recommend the calamari or crispy chicken roll appetizers and the tangerine chicken as an entre. I've also been told it's great for those with gluten intolerance/celiac's

Great service. I had chicken wings with peppers but it smelt weird, they changed glazed chicken for me without any charge.

Great food. Cool atmosphere but don't expect quiet retreat.

Really great food and service. My mom (who makes some of the best fried rice-not that I m biased or anything ) loves and approves of their fried rice! Awesome prices too for good sized portions.

I love Fat Dragon. They have the best happy hour with legitimately discounted apps and beer! And their craft selection is awesome. They have at least 30 taps, probably more. Food is good, a lot is ramen bad with various meat and veggie combinations.

Always consistently great, great service and awesome food ! Cabo the bartender will make you an awesome creation cocktail that never disappoints ! World class 5 star service from Chase every single time. That guy never has an off day. I'm addicted.

This place is awesome. Vegan options available. The wait might be long if it's crowded, but you can hang out at the bar and have a drink and/or app while you wait. Once you sit down and order, your food is out instantly. 10/10 recommend

Went for a large birthday party, food was amazing and the portion sizes were generous. Everything came out very fast.

Very loud, food was super salty. Staff were nice. Not worth the wait.

The service was horrible on my second visit. I'm a VP of a major restaurant company and visited this restaurant with my wife on my off day out of my executive dress code. We waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged by the rudest server I've ever encountered in my life. After trying to order the same items we previously ordered on our first visit, we were rudely interupted and told we cannot be served such. So I mentioned that this is not the first time we ordered these items. Then we were told oh you can order and add on. Then the young lady snatched up her order taking pad and left without asking if that was all we wanted to order. No we were not finished ordering either. So my wife said let's just leave. And so we did. They will never get my business again and I will inform all my business partners and friends not to support this business in our community. Yes I brought it to the manager's attention and he was just as bad as his staff was. Never reassuring me of any action and or trying to correct the situation. I guess in this economy my black money is not as good as the other green money coming from different patrons. Well I will just be one less customer for them to worry about.

Pretty awesome place! Good food with enough to share, although it might be a tad bit expensive. Service was fast and reliable, they made sure we didn't go thirsty and they took our order almost immediately. Our waitress was pleasant and answered all our questions. Good spot for dates, loud but comfortable atmosphere.
