Good stuff. Especially the dishwasher. Awesome guy.
Food was great as usual. First time visiting on a Sunday. There was no wait time so that was a great change. Service was very good.
Outstanding food and service in a lively environment.
Food was good, but the service was not at all attentive. I requested a refill on my water three times
Enthusiastic staff was happy to help and serve a very large group of people. Appetizers and meals all had fantastic flavor and anything can be made spicy - be sure to ask for the house chili sauce if you like spice. The extensive list of alcohols, great music, and dark atmosphere made for a very fun evening.
Arrived at 5:15. Opened st 5. 45 minute wait ALREADY. Tells you something. So well worth the wait. Call ahead if you don t want to hang out at a great bar. But don t miss this place when you are in RVA
Just had the best avant garde Bloody Mary here! Their hot and sour soup is excellent. Big fan of all their vegan dishes. Presentation a little lax on apps but maybe it is just late? Flavor and professional-tho-friendly attitude is what makes this dragon fat with love!
The food is good, but I got upsold on broccoli of all things. "Oh basil beef, great choice, do you like broccoli?" Yea, I do. "Want to include broccoli?" Sure I guess. Lo and behold, "+ Broccoli $1" on the bill. I'm pretty sure that isn't stated on the menu, but please correct me if it is. I can understand upselling extra cheese, another thai tea, or bacon/links to an order of pancakes, but broccoli, and in a non-obvious way? Come on man.
Good food and drinks. Friendly staff and great service
One of my go to places for a decent happy hour. Entrees are delicious and beer selection is above par. My only gripe is that from the time they first opened until now they changed their recipe for chicken wings. The original sauce they used for the sweet and hot appetizer wings was amazing. The new sauce is mediocre. I can only imagine it is easier to make or possibly out of a jar so they cut some corners with it. My suggestion, stay away from the wings and go for the entrees and beer. Cheers
First time there ... Excellent food ... Loved the interior ... Very urban vibe ... Waiter impecable !!!!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Parking can be painful sometimes. Be sure to try the string beans appetizer and the shrimp!
The food was delicious and fresh. It was perfectly spiced. I tried the "Enter the Dragon"..a must try
Amazing drinks food and bartender. Great music choice. Love our first time here
Great for lunch, can be a bit crowded for dinner. Delicious food
Creative & tasty menu. Attentive staff that ensures a little wait time passes quickly.
Love this place. Lively atmosphere and terrific food. Took a couple of members of my wife's family; everyone loved it.
i ll start my review by saying that i was extremely excited to try this place. the pictures on other people s reviews look amazing - and it really does look like that when it s placed in front of you! the food was cheap ($45 total for 3 appetizers and 2 entrees), the service was great, and our food came out really fast. but i should of known when i walked in that something was off. absolutely no asian people.
my partner and i ordered the sichuan pepper wings, dragon breath wings, chili oil wontons, and the numb numb ramen. all of which sound bursting with flavor, but no no no. each item tasted like the food equivalent of la croix - the smallest semblance of taste with no real flavor. how does your super spicy soup taste like plain boiled water?? do y all try it before serving it?? beyond disappointed that i waited all day for this.
tldr; everything else was great but the food sucks.
I enjoy Fat Dragon, the food is pretty good and waitresses are very pleasant and helpful. My favorite appetizer is the mushrooms which are quite spicy but I like them. Most dishes are reasonably priced but some dishes are priced a bit high for what they are .... but over all very good. The downside to Fat Dragon is the prices for thier liquor, I've learned not to drink much at any restaurants in Richmond. I don't mind anyone making a profit but profits on liquor are way out of line, a fifth of Captain Morgan's is just under 20.00 and I am charged 8.00 for a simple shot in a glass so if I have a second shot then I have nearly paid for the entire bottle. I either have 1 shot and a Pepsi or I don't drink at all and just have the Pepsi.
I recommend Fat Dragon but be aware of what your paying for when you go.
One of the best restaurants to stop at if you need food or have an hr to hang out. Love the chilli dumplings and numb numb pepper steak!
Just not very good at all. White hipsters' idea of Asian food. Bland as a mayonnaise sandwich.
Great food, parking wasn't the greatest and its not kid friendly. Best for a date night or group of friends.
Love it here! Amazing food and great local selection of drinks
Loved the Zhao chicken. The Chili Dumplings were amazing as well. My only problem is the wait time.
First time dining here
It did not disappoint. Great portions and service.
Get the dumplings and put that chili sauce on whatever else you order. So. Good.
Sooooooo glad we didn't drive past this place! The dumplings are amazing, as well as the stir fry Ramen. The sake-tini was a perfect addition! Definitely will be coming back, hope you like hot food!
Delicious food and very friendly staff! The Basil Beef was amazing and they were able to easily switch out the sauce on a tofu dish so my vegetarian companion could avoid spice.
It's also loud - music and chatter - so if sensory stuff is an issue, get it to go!
Not your typical Asian/Chinese restaurant...Fat Dragon has a smaller menu but the food is top quality, with generous portions. Shrimp and bacon ramen is an example of the unusual approach to cuisine.
The service was awesome, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was lit!! I will definitely return!! Hands down best Chinese food restaurant in RVA!!
The food is amazing - full of flavor and comes out piping hot! Excellent happy hour specials and great service, my bartender was excellent with recommendations! Cannot speak highly enough of this place - great relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and a MUST GO if living in or visiting Richmond!
Nice little cozy spot. Ordered the shrimp fried rice lunch special..was enough for 2 people. Delish! Ginger salad was good too! Will definetly return!
Great food and big portions. Tangerine chicken was amazing.
Great place, good cocktails. Dumplings were some of the best I have ever had.
An unexpected, offbeat treat for thev palate: nothing challenging in an edgy, nouveau-cuisine manner, just pleasantly adventurous dishes that will likely leave you ready to come back again.
This place was fantastic. The setting was just so lovely. It wasn't too dark and beautiful scenery. This is a great place for a quick bite to eat or even an evening out.
Great place for happy hour. I love the food as well. If you go, you must order the chicken fried rice. Thank me later
Very yummy. Fried rice reminded me of what I used to get in Taiwan.
We went with family and friends. Very good food. Loved chicken fried rice and noodles.
A little pricey but the staff is super nice! The dumplings here are the best we ve found in Richmond so far! They re in a chili sauce so they have a kick but they re great!
Great atmosphere and friendly service. Their wonton soup is amazing my girlfriend ordered and I don't even like wonton soup. Ginger salad had apples in it and shes allergic should probably list things in the app menu, just saying! overall, great experience.
Not a real Chinese restaurant. The place got it aesthetic but the food speaks the opposite. To impress someone about Richmond aesthetic take them here.
First time there on a date, and the food was excellent, waitress was awesome, loved the atmosphere and decor. Will definitely come back.
I'm giving 3 stars because that shrimp fried rice was magical and took me back to my Chinatown in NY days. The shrimp roll had no flavor..bland bland bland. However; I value great service as well as good food. I walked in to pick up my order and was barely acknowledged or looked at. I was obviously intruding on a personal conversation between the 2 girls at the podium and no one was interested in being bothered. Idk if I can resist that fried rice though so I may go back and put up with the snottiness!
Wonton soup and the shrimp&bacon ramen ... you can thank me later!
The food at far dragon is worth writing about because of the attention to detail. The crispy chicken bites appetizer with crisp green apple sticks and a spicy kick are the perfect start with a built in palate cleanser. The kimchi fried rice is perfectly seasoned to three distinct flavor profiles in one bite, yet somehow it isn t heavy and oily like most cheap fried rice recipes. You ll also get a portion that may leave you with a delicious leftover lunch for the next day.
Wasn't bad, however, I have had better... I'm not from aro these parts but the locals seem to adore it, it was recommended to me by someone from the Richmond area so take that with a grain of salt. I had the Mui Mui Bourbon chicken and (something something) jalapeno beef bowl.
Great beer selection, pretty good happy hour deals on food & drinks, and always great food!
Hands down one of my favorite spots to eat and drink in Richmond! The numb numb steak is amazing!
It was good service could of been better so will give it another try!
The food was off the chain! Never had been there before and they sat us next to a large table of college kids in the back room and with all the hard surfaces, it amplified their loud talking and made it difficult to hear our own conversation. Perhaps some soundproofing panels in that back room would help a lot! Our server, Kat, was very good and considerate in answering all our questions.
Great beer selection and delicious food. Dumplings and green beans are a must.
This place was amazing from start to finish Cat was a happy cheerful smiling singing waitress who played attention to us...my wonton soup with the cabbage and green onions was delicious and I enjoyed my garlic chicken was good too....definitely would recommend!!! Loved they were showcasing local artist as well from Art180
Never again. I've gone to this place twice now and they were both terrible experiences. First time we went in close to 10pm and the hostess was very rude about us coming in and ordering food. The second time we arrived at 10:15pm and they said the kitchen was closed so we couldn't order food. What restaurant closes their kitchen an hour before the place closes? Not how you run a business.
Always get take out here, it's always delicious. Staff is personable, managers on point!!
Peking is the best Chinese in the area. A large variety of authentic dishes. Super fast service both dining in or carry out. I have yet to be disappointed. This food was fantastic which is the only reason they get 3 stars. I got pancit noodles and ate every last bit. However, if I ever eat here again I will be sure to get my food to go because the dine in service was terrible.
Some of the best food you can get here. Plus the manager Pedro is an awesome dude. Great bar with HUGE beer selection.
Great food, listens to your needs or restrictions. Parking is nonexistent and for a big group it was a bit slow, but the people were amazing. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys good chinese food in the area.
My favorite place in all of Richmond. Happy hour is good, menu is simple and they have lots of local craft beers and cider if you are into that thing. Parking is generally good in this area no matter what time you go.
