Has a good variety of exhibits for both young and old. There are exhibits on sound, motion, electricity, biology, and more. Everything is VERY hands on.

When I first came in, I was afraid this museum would be too kid orientated (There were a lot of children and the early exhibits were very basic). However, the farther you get in, you get more options to go into more in depth items.

If you are short on time, skip the early stuff if it is too basic, there is more than enough to do.

I had a chance to visit the Exploratorium while it was still located to Palace of Fine Arts, and also the new location at 15/17 Pier. Me and my friends enjoyed it greatly.

At first we thought it was only a place for kids. We were so wrong. If you enjoy science and technology, you will love this place. We came there around 10 AM, and didn't leave until it closed at 5 PM. There were so many things to do!

For example, there's a place where you can take a photo with a wall at your background, but the shadows stays even after you leave. How about drinking water from a toilet bowl? Are you brave enough? One of my favorite spots is the area where you can take a water drop photo with your face as the background.

All in all, there are many more attractions that will keep you busy for hours. What are you waiting for?

This is the first time I've been to the new Exploratorium and my experience there was pretty good. There are a lot of exhibits to see and I loved how most of the exhibits are interactive. There are many different sections you can explore such as biology, sound, electricity, etc.

Because of the small exhibits you might have to wait for your turn to try it out. There are a lot of little kids visiting the museum and they will hog most of the good exhibits.

The museum also doesn't look aesthetically pleasing, imo. It's basically a giant warehouse, although the outside views are beautiful.

Anyway, I enjoyed my time there but I probably won't visit there again.

The Exploratorium is truly tons of fun for all ages and you learn so much at the same time, without even realizing it. You will want to have the day to spend here so you can see and do all they have. I recommend it for any family!!

The thing is that, is a fun place to go, to do something for a little while, some place to visit, it is fun if you have children so you can take them there and entertain them for a while, but it could get boring if you're not really into a lot of science really fast

Amazing. Amazing amazing. My biggest regret of living in the south bay was that we didn't come here more. Huge variety and a lot of thought put into the educational and entertainment value of each exhibit. If you have kids in the 4+ range, it's a must. (our daughter enjoyed it at 3 as well).

Wow, this is an AMAZING PLACE!! I would totally recommend it to both tourists and people who live in SF. It's free, and has great games and is super interactive. My fave part has to be the tactile dome, because it's like an obstacle course in pitch black darkness. RATE 5 STARS!!! XD

This place is awesome. There are so many fun things to discover here. It will make adults feel like bright eyed children again, and kids will have a fun time mixed with an educational experience.

My favorite exhibit was the sonar chairs, where you can talk at a normal voice to someone across the room, and they'll totally hear you like you're right next to them.

I do recommend you bring some hand sanitizer with you, as I found myself grabbing things, then wondering how many kids may have grabbed them or worse. The germaphobe in me meant I had to wash my hands constantly, and deal with the chaos of 20 kids in a bathroom.

I would give this a 5 because it is a really fascinating presentation. I only gave it 4 stars because with the crowds and all of the small presentations you get sensory overload pretty quickly.

Nice museum. It made me a bit uncomfortable as I could feel the germs of other children on the exhibits. Also trypophobia warning, I am very traumatized by a few of the attractions. Very disappointed in the tornado exhibit. We stood there for an hour waiting to see the tornado. However no matter how much we ran around the exhibit trying to summon the storm, the tomato wouldn t form. One kid even tried to collect the tornado in his jacket and plant it elsewhere but it was unsuccessful. The horde of screaming gremlins surprisingly was not enough for the tornado to emerge, very anticlimactic experience. Lastly, the exhibit closed before I could get a good instagram picture wich was very disappointing and then it started to rain which was even more sader. Overall nice concept with some nice ideas and stuff but I m traumatized

I love this place! It was so much fun, informative, easy to find, and beautiful. My only issue is that it is a hands on science museum (with lots of kids around) and there were no sanitizer stations around. The awesome thing is they let EBT cardholders (4people) in for free, part of the museums for all programs.

boring

The 21+ night event was awesome! Tons of cool projects out and no kids. We went in the tactile dome, which in my opinion was totally worth it. It was a really weird and disorienting experience, but really fun.
