Nice place well decorated with good ambiance. Only sad note is the staff not very helpful with really strict rules that make absolutely no sense (cannot order at the bar, you have to wait someone to come at your table, even though there is absolutely nobody in the room and the bartender has nothing to do...). The cocktails are good but is a minimum considering the price and the wait to be served (40 min for a group of 6)

Terrible service on the part of management. Literally the worst. Threatened to be violent with my friend (actually said would throw her down the stairs if she didn t leave despite not having done anything) and called me a racist for saying they were Europeans?? The cocktails and bartenders were fine but skip the overpriced, try too hard atmosphere and go literally anywhere else. These dummies need to learn how to run a bar.

This place remind me many memorable nights. The bar is set on two floors with vintage decor. The selection of vintage cocktails and own creations are regularly updated. Great place to finish the evening.

Rude, dis-respectful, offensive, and the one the bothers me the most is the lying/dishonest doorstaff they have employed.

They have good cocktails, and the bartenders are great. but my mood was definitely ruined by the doorstaff before i got in there, and wouldn't recommend going there to anyone.

Dear bouncer (from friday),
Do let your insecurity's out on other people just because you have never made it past the height of 150cm. And in the meantime I recommend you learn some manners and human ethics on how to speak to other people.

Wonderfully hidden cocktail bar. Reservations probably required if you wish to sit on the main floor where all the action is. Say upstairs and it was a lot quieter. Loved the decor and staff were friendly. Drinks were decent. Worth the visit. Note: they include a gratuity on all bills. Menu said this was an optional charge but we were not given the option when presented with the payment machine. Was happy to tip, but just bear that in mind.

Nice "hidden" bar in a speakeasy style decor. Great selection of cocktails, with a combination of both good classics and inventive house cocktails. All cocktails ordered were very nice, however they are a bit pricey.

Don't waste your time at this place.

Don't waste your time at this place.

I've been three times, and due to the ridiculous door policy only been able to get in on one occasion.

First time I arrived at 5:30pm, was told they opened at 6pm and to come back later. I arrived back at 6:05pm to be told by the doorman there was no more space in the bar, so apparently it had filled up in five minutes.

The second time they were kind enough to let my girlfriend and I in as we had booked, nice cocktails but nowhere near as good as somewhere like Purl in Marylbone, Milk and Honey or even any of the Dirty Martini chains.

The third time my friends asked me to book us all a table there, so I duly did for four of us. We arrived on the time we specified, but were told by the doorman we had come half an hour late, even though I showed him the booking email on my phone which stated the time we had arrived for.

We had one extra person in our group who was unaccounted for in the original booking due to a late comer, we were told he would not be allowed in. As I knew that 50% of the bar is saved for reservations, and 50% for walk-ins, I asked if the place was full and the doorman said no. However, he still wouldn't let my friend in as he said that meant our group comprised of a party of five which was not allowed.

The draconian measure employed by this establishment have really put me off going somewhere that I could have potentially considered quite a cool place. If they sort out their unfriendly door policy in the future then maybe I'll give this another go, but really the main selling point of the place is just that it looks like a secret bar, it's not that special.

this is a must if you want to try cocktails, the place is hidden so don't worry if you don't see a sign when standing outside the location, the black door takes you up a narrow staircase of the 2 floor club where the live music on the top floor would need you to book a bit early to guarantee a seat. not much food just good cheese and ham while you enjoy their drinks. Try the Grandaddy, it is by far my favorite

We booked a table for two, waited for twenty mins for someone to take an order and finally gave up and went to the bar to order, drinks then took a further 20 mins to arrive and when they did they where not great, they seemed understaffed for a Friday evening. After finishing our first drinks and waiting so be served again for ages we finally gave up and asked for the bill. For the prices they charge this was not great service although its a nice venue and could easily be a good place if staff where not over stretched and more attentive.

Highlights: Located in the heart of Chinatown, this bar (more like a bar than a club) serves a wide selection of fine drinks. The bar, which is located on the two upper floors, you will not find so quickly. The entrance is next to a Chinese restaurant. You do not have to be afraid of the doorman. A narrow staircase leads up to the bar. It's dark inside, which makes the bar particularly appealing. Lowlights: unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users. Conclusion: Highly recommended.

I've wanted to come here for a long time, and overall I really enjoyed it. It's tucked away in the center of Chinatown (next to the amazing Four Seasons) and the only way you can recognize it is with the bouncer standing in front of the small black door.
It's really hard to make a short-notice reservation so we planned to come early, but do keep in mind that they do have a very strict numbers policy and if they are full, your friends who come later might not be able to get in. If you don't have a table, do NOT tell the bouncer you have a table... because the bouncer we came across has a very short temper. Be honest, and you're more likely to be let in.
When you go up the narrow stairs, you're immediately dazzled by the beautiful space, a traditional and authentic speakeasy with dimmed lights, dark wood, and soft couches. It felt as if walking into a past era. They have two floors but we stayed by the first floor bar because of the higher ceiling and more spacious floor. They have a really nice and diverse cocktail list and we all tried something different. The bartender seemed very into the craft so it made the drinks more worth their hefty pricetags... between 11-14 pounds a cocktail, so not cheap. But definitely worth going once in a special while :)

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I have lived in London 6 years and been to most of the most exclusive bars and venues, and this was the RUDEST doorman I have ever come across in London. he had a nice trendy jacket, but an obnoxious attitude. REPUGNANT and ARROGANT behaviour for some small venue. I went to meet two lady friends who were upstairs after work, and the doorman asked me if I had a reservation. I said I don't know, I'm just here to meet two friends who told me to come. I suggest that I call them, and my friend came down to get me. So I then said, "Now you have your answer about the reservation, can I come in"? He curtly replied, "If you continue talking like that, you won't". I was not even aggressive or rude whatsoever, he was. Thought he was some big shot. I went away and told my friends to leave - I never patronise rudeness.

We we went to another cocktail bar nearby which was much friendlier, and even the staff there had heard of their terrible customer service, and exaggerated prices. Form all accounts, an overrated, overpriced place, with the RUDEST door staff I have encountered.

The staff here are incredibly helpful and I love that the cloak room is free. The cocktail list is not massive but it is imaginative and well thought through. I don't think there is a single cocktail I could recreate at home. Well worth a visit - if you can find it!!!

So beautiful and atmospheric. If you can find it and you like a good cocktail, and don't mind paying a bit more for it, I highly recommend it. The staff are so attentive and the music was great.

Absolutely love this place it's one of my favourite bars in London and I've been to lots If you can find it (random door in the middle of China town.. look out for the smart looking bouncer standing in front), and they have space then they'll let you in without a reservation. Then you're in a 1930s prohibition heaven. Decor is dark and stunning, glasses are crystal and the cocktails are pricey but worth it.. you don't need many X

Would give this 5 stars, however music inside was unnecessarily loud (and that's coming from a student) and my partner and myself almost felt intimidated by the atmosphere, especially given off by the staff. Other than the it was a very nice bar to be in aesthetic wise and the drinks were amazing

The way they make the cocktails is a work of art! A little more lenient than your typical speakeasy, so it gets a bit crowded. But the drinks were super tasty and worth the only slightly premium price tag.

Love coming here!! Cocktails are great and it's the perfect place for a chilled out drink away from the tourists in Chinatown.

You don't need to book but you do have to answer the door staffs questioning with a bit of confidence!

A very pretentious place with very average cocktails, average interior design and very rude staff.
I would not recommend this place to anyone!
The doorman is very arrogant and will put your experience down from the very first minute. The staff in the bars is also very rude. My evening was completely spoiled by their service. Will never return there again.

this place used to be good. not meaning to sound pretentious but the whole point of speakeasy secret cocktail bars is the fact that they arent absolutely rammed to the gills. sitting at the bar and tasting the lovely drinks was an amazing experience. not anymore. find somewhere newer that isnt mainstream. the drinks are expensive, the service is slow, and the maitre d is quite pushy.

We wanted to have few cocktails, but alas, door staff refused entry and were fairly rude about it. No worries, it's London, so we went to Mr Foggs - doorman was very welcoming and we had an amazing time there. Avoid this place - go to Mr Foggs.

Decent place with great location in Chinatown. I little difficult to fine but I suppose that's part of the appeal. Staff and service where both great but the cocktails where a little disappointing. By no means bad but I have had better for the price. Will go back as the place is nice.

Love the idea of a speakeasy that's difficult to find, but when asked where we would like to sit, we were then told where we could actually sit.... and the cocktail that was recommended by staff as being sweet was actually quite a bitter, coffee tasting cocktail... VERY expensive for what it was!
