Great way to spend the day. The lab allows you have a jam section, which is amazing. The Nirvana exhibit is a must for any fan. I visited while they had the marvel exhibit. While it wasn't what I was expecting, it did have many interesting items. The bar tender was also fantastic!

The museum is really modern, well laid out and very interactive. Excellent place to visit if you're in to modern music, games, culture.

The time we spent having a quick lunch beforehand was quite a highlight too. The food was really quick and we got a great combo deal. The Moscow Mules were excellent and our barman offered us a great rosemary infused vodka which was delicious.

I love this museum so much! The exhibits are astounding, and worth the price. The horror section is so cool to go through, and I love how the stairs on the way down sets the mood for the exhibit. In the fantasy section, it is perfect getting to see the props and costumes from my favorite childhood movies. The marvel section is probably the biggest hit at MOPOP. Each part of the marvel section takes you on a journey through big part of the cinematic universe. Looking at all of the drawings and statues, tells the story of how it all came to be. I suggest that they add a DC Comic section near the marvel section for all those big superman or flash fans, like me. There are tons of more exhibits, but to really find out go visit.

These are all photos I took at the museum. It was so fun! I went to the Nirvana exhibit and that is where I had the most fun. The 3 pictures of the guitars is the guitar tower thing they had their. It was giant and made entirely out of guitars. The expierence overall was amazing and I would 100% go again.

A very cool and unique place, absolutely worth it if you're in the city. It's a bit pricey so it helps if the current main exhibit is something that you're really into. It could use a little bit more interactivity.

There is so much to do here and great for whole family. We were there for 5 hours. Went to the Marvel exhibit and would recommend going whenit first opens because later on that extra exhibit had a major line to get in. The restaurant in house was handy and was really good food. You are allowed to exit and enter until closing EXCEPT the Marvel exhibit where you are only allowed entry once. Parking nearby and there is a playground for kids outside. Amazing and will be coming back for sure.

The museum is amazing! I loved every exhibit they had on display. We did the marvel exhibit on its opening day and by far it is one of the best exhibits i have visited. The museum pays a great tribute to their local famous people such as Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana. I truly enjoyed my experience and made Seattle one of the best cities in my eyes to visit.

For anyone into various genres of music, this place is for you. Aside from music being my priority to go there, you can easily enter another world upon entering the Fantasy Sci-fi room. You can get lost in the world of Nintendo and other computer boffiny stuff. Watch short doco exerts on various music artists or the much missed master puppeteer Jim Henson. Brilliant!

Amazing place to visit. I could spend hours in each exhibit. Indie Games, history of horror, all space fantasy, adventure fantasy, history of Perl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, Nervana. The best museum I have been to in 15 years. I wish I lived here so 8 could spend more time in this place.

Paid $31 for the museum and The Marvel exhibit. Honestly, it's not a museum and it's not pop culture. It's seems more like a collector gathered stuff from different movies from different eras and genres and stuffed them in different rooms. The staff, although nice, there was no one in any of the exhibits to ask questions. The store was like walking into a Hot Topic, nothing except maybe a t-shirt with the mueseum name on it, the rest was movie and music. I was trying to find a mug or something with the museums name, but found nothing. The Marvel exhibit was nice, but felt like it lacked information on certain things. Not worth the trip. Save your money and head to the museum of flight. Far more exhibits and better organized than this one.

I haven't had a chance to experience the entire place yet, but I recently attended a work function in the large theater room and it was amazing. I can't wait to come back and see the rest of this place. The building features a one of a kind design!

Awesome inside and out. Attended the Wearable Art Show, which was great. Wonderful sculptures outside, too. But waiting outside for opening night with my family, we found a SUPER playground at the upper level that kept us all entertained, kids and adults, playing with each other and everybody else's kids, on the installations. Expend all that youthful energy here before you go in, and kids can walk quietly through displays. Or return to the playground while you linger. Restaurant on site is really good, too, for quick bites.

There's so much to see and do one could easily spend a whole day exploring the museum. We used CityPASS to get the best bang for the buck since we had plans to visit multiple attractions. The Marvel exhibit was a definite favorite and worth the extra cash. My husband really enjoyed the artist exhibits, while I enjoyed the fantasy and scifi exhibits. 10/10 would do again!

The coat check looked through my bag and removed an item. "Not responsible for theft" includes occasional light-theft, evidently. Content of museum was good, but item was missing when I picked up my bag...

Great exhibits! I spent most of my day here, and I could have spent even more time. The exhibits were beautifully designed, and I enjoyed all, but the Jim Henson exhibit. I felt that one was not worth the extra money spent. The rest of the museum is enjoyable, and educational.

It is a conspicuous building in itself. The most striking thing to go in is the small exhibitions of different modern and popular, and also the sales offices (more guitars). Going to the place where I saw the performance, because it seems to be 100 dollars, plus I saw the advertisement on the wall, it is not very interesting, so I did not go in...

Came here with my wife to spend the afternoon. The admission was much less than I anticipated and we had a blast. You could spend all day here going through the exhibits! Highly recommend it!

Hadn't been back to this museum since it was still the EMP. Totally thrilled with the mix of music and movies. Be prepared to spend about 3 hours or more to get the real feel for the museum. Had a great time.

The temporary exhibit on Star Trek is fantastic! They've got original costumes and props from the shows, plus an interactive feature with an away mission, complete with a transporter. If you're a Trekkie, you won't want to miss this!

I also saw the Nirvana exhibit, which was thorough and well laid out. Go ahead and get the audio tour -- the Nirvana exhibit was narrated by Krist Novoselic, giving recollections about the items on display.

Lastly, I saw the Guitars exhibit. Seriously, you could spend hours in that exhibit with the audio guide, listening to the demos played on each of the guitars/basses. It shows a fascinating history of the electric guitar and the buildup of volume and sound.

There were a number of other exhibits there that I didn't see -- on horror, fantasy, Jimi Hendrix, and more.

The exhibits had a variety of topics and were well done. That said, they catered more to those who were already fans and weren't the most interesting if you didn't already care. This is a great option with the money-saving CityPass.

The large room with the massive screen was quite impressive on its own, but the overall layout was tricky. We found ourselves checking the map and backtracking to make sure we hadn't missed entire exhibits.

Nice museum - the Kids loved the Marvel exhibit. And in the museum we mostly liked the sound lab, where we could try & learn on drums, guitars, mixing... and many other music making tools.
A lot of fun. Took us 3-4 hours inside.

Ik Came for Kurt Cobain but isn't here anymore.A picture exibition bout Bowie. But really 28 dollars for this! On a rainy day and you really bored this is a Nice exibit. The building could have so much more. Doesn't really feel as a 2017 museum. The star Trek is Nice ,though i expected more about Leonard Nimoy. A whole dat free in and out pass bit the sun is Shining and i don't want you go in anymore.

Great service and very organized. The exhibits were hit and miss. Some were interesting while others weren't as captivating. I think more activities would make for a better experience.

I was excited to get a membership and visit the mopop for the first time today. But when I went to use purchase additional tickets for marvel I was told I could not use my guest pass for 3 weeks (this was 100% of the reason I bought a membership so that i could bring a guest and only need to purchase the extra exhibit tickets) the man checking me out (name tag said Nina) was rude and did not offer any sort of explanation or apologies for the misunderstanding. So I bought the full priced ticket for my guest and was charged $80. I was shocked at the price and double checked the website which quotes tickets for $36. So when I went back up to understand he blamed me for not being clear on what I wanted. I had asked for 2 tickets to the marvel exhibit and showed my membership for myself. I apologized and he was still rude and grumbling while He processed a partial refund. I m sure the museum is amazing and I m excited to see more but the lack of customer service really put a damper on my day and I m definitely questioning my purchase of an annual membership.

There is a lot of cool things inside. Playing movie trivia as I walked around was awesome. I was able to go through the entire museum in about 2.5 hours. The best part was the sound room I probably could've spent my entire time there. Nothing beats that hands on experience. The outside of the building draws you in but the museum leaves you wanting more. The exhibits are small and cramed together. Trying to maneuver around 15 people while kids are running back and forth just to get a glimpse of the display is no fun at all. The extra money that was spent for the Marvel exhibit felt like a rip off. I didn't think it was worth a few costumes/props and a interactive Iron-Man game. If you have a CityPass or was thinking of going there I say just skip it. Your time and money will be better off somewhere else.

It wasn't my idea to go here. But, my daughter's and their husbands were in town and they were determined to see it wherever I accompanied then or not. I'm glad I went. It was a lot better than I imagined. There is something of Coulter for anyone here. I'm not a big fan of scary/frightful entertainment, yet, their fright exhibit was great! I want looking forward to fantasy... It was great as well. From sci-fi, to local music, to indie games, guitars, and lots more to mention, this was well worth the visit. It to want to take in everything, s half day would almost come close to getting everything in and shipping a few things. 6 hours would probably convert everything once without going too in depth anywhere. An 8 hours visit would show you to take your time.

I took literally 100s of photos here. Eventually, they'll be uploaded as almost a mini tour it the place. Maybe you'll like then so well that yup want to visit.

Great displays for most everything, only thing's I found lacking were:
1) The indie gaming exhibit, as most of their displays or computers weren't working, leaving little to do there (but this may be fixed after the time of publishing this review)
2) The music/music video selection for the center stage highlighting pop music. I don't think they do a great job of picking music videos and songs that actually matter historically, far too much emphasis on artists like Macklemore that are less significant to Pop Culture's past and present than many other options they could have gone with.

That being said, this was a great museum to visit, and is a good place to come with a significant other or family.

This museum is not just for music lovers, but those who love to experience pop culture. There are not only exhibits for musicians, but also exhibits for gamers, fashionistas, and even Star Trek fans. It is fun to explore all the floors that the EMP museum has to offer and experience something new.

Really amazing place with incredible exhibits on sci fi, fantasy and horror but my absolute favourite was the marvel exhibit. They really did Stan Lee justice. The costumes, being from the movies, were so incredibly detailed, and the history of marvel comics along with techniques for creating comics were so interesting.
