This is my favorite museum in Seattle, is at the top of my recommendations list, and my husband and I are members. While I don't visit every time someone from out of town visits, I do suggest they come. MoPop has an extensive permanent collection of science fiction, fantasy and horror artifacts, as well as important artifacts related to music particularly music important to the Pacific Northwest.

In addition to the permanent exhibits, the rotating special exhibits are world class. From World of Wearables to the Supremes costumes to a multi-floor Marvel exhibit, MoPop knows how to throw a special exhibit. There are also consistently stunning music-related photograph exhibits too. Definitely visit this place!

It was absolutely amazing. So much fun to go and see all of the exhibits and such. I went when they had the marvel exhibit and it was everything I expected and more. They have a lovely gift shop with lots of T-shirts and souvenirs to buy without being too expensive. I could have easily spent another hour here if I had more time. If you're in Seattle it is a must to go there and see all of the amazing exhibits and things. Loved it.

Both the structure and the exhibitions inside are beautiful. Real tribute to popular culture, especially to the music and geniuses of Seattle! Unusual and fun: to see even if the price is a bit high!

I have mixed impressions about this museum... They have full-size Terminator, Xenomorph from Aliens, weapons from different movies, a few more interesting Star Wars rooms, huge guitar sculpture, and this is basically it. Honestly saying I don't think it worth $56 for two people.

Lot of history behind the music in the current exhibits. Perl Jam and Nirvana. The horror exhibit was cool too. Excites for the body art opening 2/1/20. If you have kids they love the minecraft.

On the website they mentioned that they'll be open on Christmas eve. When we went there it was closed. We had planned our Christmas vacation based on the timings each place had mentioned in their website. Now we are returning without being able to see this place. It was very unprofessional of them to do this.

I really enjoyed the experience and exhibits they had at the Museum of Pop Culture! They recently shed some light on the creation of gaming, and as a gamer I spent the most time at this exhibit, playing a lot of the coop games as well at the other solo indie games they had in store. I really enjoyed checking this place out!

A bit pricey for what it is. Worth it for the Nirvana exhibition but everything else seems to be memorabilia and movie props. Fine if you like that sort of thing. The building itself is pretty cool.

This place is okay. If your from out of town and have time to waste, stop here last after checking out the rest of Seattle center first! Add an extra hour or so for to avoid a parking fee!

We spent 4 hours here and we left only because they were closing. The exhibit was marvel comics and it was very enjoyable. The sound lab was my favorite part. I would suggest getting a ticket to the Hollowdome when you get there because they have limited show times.

Thank goodness this place is around. There is really no sign of the 90s music scene left. It's completely absent outside the museum. The sound lab is great. You can actually say you played guitar, drums etc in seattle. Worth a visit.

Disappointing. The exhibits were small and most of the sci-fi/fantasy/horror interactive exhibits had long waits or were broken. The exhibits were kind of disconnected and didn't have much description aside from saying the prop had been in a movie. It was an okay visit but it was nowhere near worth the $28 ticket price.

The museum is beautifully designed the outside is gorgeous. Once inside I found good and bad but for the price of admission I am afraid this museum left a bit to be desired. The nirvana exhibit was amazing very well put together and they had some great displays. The horror exhibit was one of the reasons I came but to be honest it was just alright, it seems they feel like playing videos counts as an exhibit and sorry to me it just doesn't. There were other exhibits pearl jam, fantasy, sci fi, anf a play with these video games or music instrument type things and all had positive points but none were terribly memorable. Last was the Marvel exhibit which you had to pay extra for (for whatever reason ) and again it had some neat costumes and stuff but a lot of the exhibits were signs on the wall or a statue just kinda eh. Overall the place has great potential but I feel like they are using it to that potential.

This was the absolute COOLEST museum I've ever been to! The Star Trek exhibit was enough to sell me for life, not to mention the huge cyclone structure of musical instruments that extends from floor to ceiling! A must see!!

Modern, captivating, many exhibitions and sections for different tastes and interests. The Marvel exhibition is very interesting. Even the fantasy has a dedicated section with clothes and costumes of famous movie scenes. Section musical instruments to try with acoustic booths to play. Exhibition section of objects and tools that belonged to famous singers like Jimmy Hndrix, Nirvana, Davide Bowie ....
At the entrance there is a sculpture made with lots of overlapping and vertical guitars. The giant screen on which are projected videos of the sacred monsters of international music. Not to be missed.

A wide variety of interactive exhibits that are interesting for the entire family. If you are in the Seattle area this museum is probably worth considering an annual pass as it changes frequently and you will not be able to see at once.

A great place to explore for anyone interested in rock music and/or sci-fi & fantasy. The exhibits were all well kept and had many unique and original items, such as the original guitars played by rock stars and movie set pieces. Probably my favorite exhibit was the sound bar where you can play various instruments, and even participate in a live jam session. Tip: if you have a larger party, consider getting the family membership!

This was my 4th visit to this museum, and the first since it has become the MoPOP. We spent about 3 hours there, but left disappointed. Despite being housed in a remarkable Frank Gehry designed building, the curation was unfocused. Everything there is pop culture as advertised, but there could be a little more selectivity of artifacts and better story telling. The place is vast while the number of exhibits is relatively small. Museums endowed with less square footage must select the most important and relevant items to illustrate the story, which creates focus. Here the curators adopted a more-is-more approach and attempt to fill the cavernous exhibit halls with a garage sale of unexplained and often uninteresting items. By doing this, the museum fails to elevate the subjects of its exhibits, but instead overpowers and diminishes them.

The Gehry architecture containing the museum (itself shaped like a guitar with the monorail as its neck) would be worthy of a self-referential exhibit. Ironically, little is said of the building despite these influences between pop culture and architecture. For that matter, you can't walk outside and look up at the Space Needle without wondering if it's 1960s concept of the future was influenced largely from the Jetsons cartoon series started about the time it was being designed.

This is an amazing museum. I came to the avengers exhibition which featured the suits and props used by the avengers and it was very interesting. You can also see the props and costumes used by famous horror films, sci fi films, fairy tale films, and famous artists.

Highly recommend a visit if in the area!

A cool and different museum. Astonishing architecture that are intriguing and welcoming you when you approach it. There are something for all ages inside. It's definitely an recommendation from me.

Overpriced. Not worth the money at all. Venue was o..k. Huge lineups. No vending machines or places to buy a drink or snack besides the fancy restaurant. Make sure to bring your own if you decide to come here.

I went there yesterday since I had the free ticket for this museum, and also this is the 1st time I been here, too. I really really love this place, too many heros from MARVEL, from Horror Flim. I had a lot of beautiful pictures when I went here. Btw, who is a fan of Dr. Strange? I really love him, hahha. You guys must go there if you are a fan of Marvel.

nice
