Ethos Green Power Review

We recently installed a solar array on our home with the help of Ethos Green Power. They were competitively priced, based on multiple bids we received, but it was their responsiveness and service that put them over the top. And they were local! Bob was always friendly, quick to reply, and very helpful in designing a system that met our needs. Even after the sale, Bob has been great in answering our questions and handling incentive applications.

I highly recommend partnering with Ethos if you are considering going solar. All I had to produce was a yearly usage report and they designed my stand alone solar installation plan. They provided a quick estimate and answered all my questions. Once we decided to go forward with the project I never once had to contact them to find out what was going on, they always kept me updated on timelines and progress. They helped me with the paperwork and contacts for the rebate with the state and informed me of the tax break that can be used over multiple years! Once the installation began I had changed my mind about the location of the structure, they immediately went into action to recalibrate the structure and plan and we were on our way. We hit a hiccup with Xcel Energy as I had a transformer not able to accept the energy my structure would be generating. Since I'm the only customer using the transformer the cost of the upgrade fell on me. Ethos offered to split the cost with me, which was an unexpected bonus! I can't speak highly enough of the workmanship that went into the project. Everyone was professional and experienced in their role and always responsive when I had questions, not to mention a nice, good group of folks. I have been beyond satisfied with the results and their continued interest in my satisfaction. Big shout out to the entire business and all employees. I've never had such a positive experience with a construction project!

Very knowledgeable. Came up with a plan to move forward on relatively quickly. Figured out all the
financial incentives.

I needed some repairs done to my system. I talked to them and was told they would get right back to me. It took more calls from me and some time for them to call me back and then they told me they did not want to do the work. I wasted a week which could have been avoided if I just got a quick return call. Little annoying - no idea about how well the work they do is.

We worked with Ethos Green Power to evaluate a location (our barn roof) for solar panels, and wound up purchasing 20 panels. They worked very well with us to install them as soon as we had the roof cleaned and repainted (our choice, not a requirement.)

The installation crews and support personnel were very professional and helpful! They had to dig a 75 yard trench between the barn and garage where our electrical service panels are located, and arranged for a contract electrician to do some special wiring for us. The installation crew was excellent, and took care to minimize the damage to our lawn, reseeding the damaged area and covering it with straw. There were some unexpected challenges which they met with no extra charge. The support/planning personnel visited several times before and after the installation to make sure we were aware of and had installed software to monitor our electric production and detect any problems with the panels. There have been no hidden fees - we paid Ethos one amount and they covered all related costs (contract electrician, a truckload of soil, etc.) They also did all the coordination with our utility provider. This was a "one stop shopping" project for us.

Based on their evaluation we expect a payback period of seven years.

Overall, we were very pleased with this project and the personnel with whom we had contact. An easy project, and we are very satisfied with the work that was done!

We can't say enough about the Ethos Green Power team! From our very first meeting, we could feel the enthusiasm and commitment Ethos had for meeting our needs. Having met with a few other solar companies, it was clear that the Ethos team, was and is, in a class of their own. Not looking to just "get the job" but truly focused on what would really serve us and our site, the best. Once the project got underway, the level of excellence continued. This is a truly knowledgeable and dedicated group and I can't imagine a better experience than what we had with Ethos Green Power.

We had a terrific experience working with Ethos Green Power! They were prompt, professional, and proficient. They saw our project through from start to finish, making sure all aspects of the job were done correctly with little effort needed from us. All staff seemed excited about their jobs and really confirmed our desire to add a solar grid to our property. We loved the experience of working with Ethos, and we love seeing the graphics and reports that demonstrate how our array is helping reduce our carbon footprint.

Great company to work with! Have done 43 KWp systems on two of our commercial buildings, and Ethos made it easy by doing most of the somewhat complicated paperwork to help get us qualified for grants and tax credits. Followup after the project has also been exceptional.
They respond very quickly with any questions or concerns I've had.

We had a solar array installed in June of 2020. Ethos couldn t have been more pleasant to work with. They provided a quality product with knowledgeable staff. Very conserved with customer satisfaction.

Everyone at Ethos was friendly and helpful. They came out twice to discuss the site and check on the infrastructure already in place and what else was needed. I was well informed and had my questions answered. We put up a 42 panel solar array on the ground that tied into the grid. Their pricing on this was lower than another company that we also had come and look at the project. When they came to do the work, they were well prepared and moved through it in a timely manner. I like that they can monitor the system in their office and thus see if anything needs tweaking which it has not. They are always quickly available to answer questions if I need them to. They use high quality components in the solar array which should last a long time. Thank you Ethos!

Ethos Green Power is a great company. Raven and Bob were great to work with. There were a couple delays (reason for 4 stars) but they worked quickly to resolve the issues. They will walk you through every step of the process. I would highly recommend Ethos Green Power to anyone wanting to have solar power installed.

Bob Callaway and crew are consummate professionals. They are always on time and follow-up with every task. Solar installation and Energy related work relies on good relationships with electrical contractors, Alliant and other energy providers and local officials who have to approve certain aspects of a project. Ethos not only had good connections with all the players but they had good relationships with them as well. I can not say enough good things about Ethos. They really bring important resources to the Driftless area and Wisconsin as a whole.

Ethos rocked my installation in late December in order to get my federal tax credit. You can still get a tax credit for 2020! Go solar, it does good and feels good!

Ethos Green Power is great! It was easy to get a plan set up, they let me know about local financing, and they offer excellent follow up. Recently they have hired more high quality, very personable, exceptional staff. I am considering switching more of my appliances to electric and expanding my solar foot print this summer. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

After 3 months of use on my solar panels, I could not be more pleased! I really wanted a complete turn key system and advice as the best products to include, and that is exactly what I got. The entire crew at Ethos was very professional. There was absolutely NO hiccups from receiving my proposal to the contact with the power company to completion of the necessary paperwork. The installation was completed in an extremely professional manner. I am proud of my system! In doing my due diligence I sought out another proposal but in retrospect that was a waste of time, because of the quality of the material they proposed and time line to completion.

I had made the wrong choice of solar installer. I had a "working" system, but I knew it wasn't earthed properly, connections were dubious, DC wiring insulation was stripping, fusing was wrong ... lots of issues. I called Ethos. Shane came to review my system, gave me a comprehensive list of problems, and shortly thereafter gave me a quote to rectify them all, plus install some new panels. And do you know what: they did just that, in the time estimated and for the price quoted! My system is now safe, secure, and larger. Plus I got to work with Shane and the Ethos team, which was a blast.

How often is it that someone says "this work, this time, this price" and then does it? That's what happened for me, snow and creek crossings notwithstanding. Their work was neat, clean, and sympathetic to our house and needs. They clearly understand both grid-tied and off-grid systems such as mine. I look forward to continuing to work with Ethos as I learn more and more about living off grid.

Ethos continuously went the extra mile to make our solar installations (two now) as smooth and stress free as possible. From planning, to funding, to installation, their very knowledgeable team had everything under control at every step. They continue to monitor the system remotely after installation and are available to answer any questions that arise. All this, and they are a great group of people as well - a real pleasure to work with.

Communication was excellent! There was never a time we did not know what was going to happen next and why. Pre-install meeting was very valuable Bob and Erik answered all our questions day one. After that it was sit back and watch it all come together. Installers and electricians are very efficient and enjoy their jobs.
Equipment installed is excellent quality. There was no need to chose good, better or best. Adjustable rack is simple but, simple is good.
Close out was seamless. We are glad we did a little research and found Ethos.

I got a 12.4 Kw solar array installed on a 40 x72 shed. Customer service was excellent! Alicia and Bob took the time to explain and understand my knowledge of solar. They filled in the gaps of what I didn t know and set me up. Bob came out looked at the shed and made sure everything would work out. The installation team was top even from working from a height (22 + from the south side of the building). Will definitely be calling them again if I need to expand and recommending them to family and friends.

Everybody at Ethos has been great to work with. They have the experiences to get the job done right. 1 optimizer stopped working and they quickly repaired it under warranty without cost to me. My system otherwise is flawless preforming as predicted.

There's nothing negative to say here. Ethos is very professional, knowledgeable, thorough and clean! My husband and I were both working and you would never know they were at our home installing. We left a key for the guys to setup everything. I totally expected to come home to muddy footprints or dirt of some sort somewhere....nothing! There is an app your can use to track your usage...my husband loves this! He shows everyone and watches the app periodically throughout the day. We would recommend Ethos to anyone!!

Ethos did a great job bringing solar to our farm. They were encouraging, good at solving problems, and cleaned up after themselves. They even hung up our bat house!

Last spring (2019), I contacted several solar companies to obtain information on how I could get roof top solar for our home. I was not impressed by the information I received from the "national" companies. Some attempted to put panels on my garage or lower flat roof which receive heavy shading. Ethos came out and made an inspection and provided an accurate solar assessment of my site. They gladly provided references to other home systems and answered all questions in a timely manner. They also helped work with local city code requirements and did all the necessary paper work with the city and power company. When time came to install, there was a problem with the availability of the planned solar equipment, however, they went out of their way to obtain an acceptable alternative without any further delays or costs. I am very happy I went with this company and would highly recommend their service.

Our system has been operational for nearly four years. It was one of the best sustainability decisions we ever made. If you are considering Solar, Ethos is as good as it gets.

They have been great through the biding process. Very quick in responding to questions and getting other information out. Bob one of there reps was very knowledgeable and informative; having answers to every question. Looking forward to the install in the coming month.

My 10.3 kw system was installed in December 2017. Although I purchased my system from California, Ethos was contracted to do my install. They were very punctual and professional, it was a pleasure working with them. And if I was to do it all over again I would ve bought my system directly through them! Totally pleased, thank you!

We had a very positive experience with our solar installation completed by Ethos Green Power. They were extremely easy to work with from right sizing our system, to the installation of the panels and battery back-up, as well as answering any of our follow-up questions. We couldn't be more pleased with how the system is meeting our needs and expectations.
