Absolutely love this place best Greek food I ve ever had stopped by on Monday for take out the food was fresh and heated up well we got moussaka and lamb kabob it was absolutely amazing I recommend this place five stars ,very clean no contact pickup ,

This is an old standby of great Greek cooking. Generous portions of well prepared food. And some of the tastiest bread! And the same menue can be had in the comfortable Lounge next door.

Convivial atmosphere with warm, attentive service. The food is solidly good but, having been to Greece many times, I have had better.

The Parthenon is the best Greek Bistro in town! What a great Neighborhood Restaurant, super friendly staff and ownership, and above all excellent Greek food! The kind my grandmother used to make! I'd recommend this place to anyone interested in the Greek experience.

This is a long standing Greek restaurant. The food quality is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The adjoining bar is a popular spot. In warm weather the patio is a great spot to dine. Lonegivity isn't always a sign of quality but in this case it is.

*2020 update. It had been too long since we ate here. I work nearby now and ordered carry-out for lunch recently. Phoned the Parthenon and placed the order. 15-20min later the order was ready. Staff were attentive to Covid protocols and even those dining there were in compliance. Food was just as I remembered - delicious. We had lamb and chicken souvlaki (pictured). Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Food was delicious, the waiters were great and the overall atmosphere was very friendly. Perfect for a nice evening out.

Excellent Greek food! Surprisingly delicious fries with sandwiches. Their salads are good, though do not include dressing or sauce. They have a decent low-key bar scene as well in the evenings.

The food at the Parthenon Restaurant is always top quality. This is the perfect place to get a delicious meal. There is a big selection of food, beer, wine, and liquors.

Delightful food, excellent service, truly lovely experience

Food was solidly good but waiter was not very. Decor is dated but I don't mind because it looks like all the Greek restaurants I knew in the Philly-area growing up in the 90s. I was able to pretend I was 25 years younger & not stuck in bucolic Chevy Chase! :-) Maybe my waiter was daydreaming too? It was a gorgeous afternoon. So he is forgiven. I will return and not daydream as much.

IT'S A GOOD GREEK RESTAURANT WITH SELECTION OF TASTY GOOD FOOD, ESPECIALLY THEIR SALAD AND THE SEA FOOD PLATTERS. THEIR PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND WELL KEPT RESTAURANT WITH GOOD AND FRIENDLY WAITERS.

My dining companions had the lamb special. I had the crab stuffed flounder. All of us raved about how great the food was. Also had the lemon chicken soup and hummus for appetizers. Delicious!!

I joined a group of ladies for dinner at The Parthenon a week or so ago. I arrived later than the others & we were in a time crunch already but the waiter said, "Hey, no worries, I'll get you caught up with the rest." He was beyond nice. All of our meals were delicious. The service was exemplary. I'll definitely return to The Parthenon next time I'm in the area.

Disgusting, overpriced, overly greasy, less than half food and beverage portions and horrible waiters. Interior decor looks like a funeral home. Never going back.

A wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Great food, wonderful service, terrific ambiance. Outdoor dining a treat. One of the best restaurants in DC. Each dish a gem.

I had the chicken gyro sandwich and a glass of the house red wine. I enjoyed the sandwich and liked our waiter. The waiter was very attentive and the food came out in a good time. I sat outside and loved the outdoor seating. The meat quality for the gyro was very good. Next time I come I'll have to try some of the lamb dishes. Authentic and portion sizes are normal. I am happy to find a Greek place that is more than overpriced mesas.

It's a little worn around the edges but maintains it's comfortably elegance as a welcoming neighborhood restaurant. The kind of place to meet some friends for a leasurely evening. The traditional foods are simple, lightly seasoned and clearly Greek. I've always thoroughly enjoyed everything I've had. They could use a little more thought at the vegitarian and vegan end of the spectrum for the younger client. The service has always been excellent. It's a great place to dine outside, weather permitting.

Had a fantastic experience in here with my son. The food arrives fast and the service is just great. Prices are affordable.

The food is consistent quality through the years. Service needs more work. I recognize Saturday nights are busy. However, waiters are the "face" of any restaurant. They should at least introduce themselves and offer suggestions. Our waiter was expedient but he was neither informative or personable. I would prefer the octopus served whole rather than sliced.

I was skeptical at first because of the dated exterior & need for a fresh coat of paint inside, but decided to trust my fellow Google reviewers. The food was very fresh, didn't taste microwaved, and was very similar to the Greek food I grew up with (I am first gen raised by Greek immigrants). Even the garnish under and on our dishes was crisp and fresh, which is always a good sign. A pleasant surprise! I'll be back!

We've lived in the neighborhood for some time and walk by daily. We came in one night late and they still allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the great food. We had the Greek salad, filet mignon, chicken ,and gyros. Everyone enjoyed our food and the waiter was really cool..

This restaurant is 10 star of the 5 star of Greek food in Washington Dc. If you want authentic Greek and the best of the best- No where else but Parthenon has it! From.Yeeros/Gyros to Galactobouriko go no where else even if traffic is hectic you won't regret it. Parthenon is truly authentic and won't bust your pockets like the other Greek spots. 100!

Fantastic gyros and delicious, tender, perfectly cooked lamb! Fairly inexpensive unless you're going for the most expensive items like lamb chops. Very interesting Greek coffee. Overall great Greek place with lots of choices.

2 stars strictly based on the flounder dish. Fishy, mushy and old, did Not eat. The fish soup on the other hand was not too bad. Not great either, somewhere in between. Other menu items may be good though. Definitely skip the fish. Kinda disappointed given the parking isn't free.

The 4 stars is more for the atmosphere and the service, rather than the food. This is a place that you go to if you are craving Greek food, but you may not be too happy with the results. I may recommend the outside location for dates, during the summer months, but thats about it.

I had an excellent server, his name was Daniel. He was very informative and helpful - my dad really liked the bread that was served in the beginning of the meal, and he was kind enough to give us some to take home with us.

The ambiance is a little strange - a random blue awning and pillars inside clash - not classic and not modern. However if you dont move from one space to the other, its not that jarring. Personally, I prefer the inside. The art on the wall is a little random as well - the space is not well filled up, and the yellow on the walls makes it look a tad dingy.

Now to the food. My dad had the combination platter and I had the Gyro platter. The food was very well cooked and prepared, we didn't have an overlong wait time either though the restaurant was full. However, it wasn't very authentic and I think that's what my dad and I respond to the most. But we came away with a good meal and a large amount of leftovers.

Service was terrible food was cold did not save you with a smile I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

This establishment is a staple of the neighborhood. The food here is great, but you really go here to meet your neighbors.

A good, dependable neighborhood spot that satisfies our craving for Greek food. We love sitting out front, and the staff never fails to make us feel welcome. Tonight we had flaming saganaki, gyro salad, chicken souvlaki, and galaktabouriko and Greek coffee to finish it off. Always fun.

Hands down, some of the best Greek food I've had. The staff is always friendly, food is unbelievable. Been for lunch and dinner, large groups are welcomed. The patio is nice, bar adjacent to the restaurant. Overall I highly recommend it. Parking on street, Uber is best.

Great food, great service. This has been a special event location for birthdays, anniversaries etc for my family going on 20yrs. The dishes are all amazing but my personal favorite is the trout stuffed with crabmeat, amazing every time. There is outdoor seating and a bar. The bar is cut off from the rest of the restaurant which is perfect so as to maintain a good ambiance in the dining room. In DC looking for upscale Mediterranean that isn't in the middle of a traffic jam this is the place!

We were looking for something local in or near Chevy Chase with good quality food and outdoor seating. My family is from Illinois, and we love enjoying Greek food in authentic Greek family restaurants in the Greektown neighborhood in Chicago. Parthenon was every bit as good as the best I've had anywhere. Broiled octopus was especially good! Service was excellent; food was extraordinary. Very highly recommend!

I couldn't decide what I wanted so I ordered a combination platter. Everything was fantastic, even the bread served with olive oil before the meal.

Nice setting, the food is very good and okay for large parties.
