Great customer service. Somewhat dated, housekeeping could be improved, breakfast is top notch, as is the chefs/staff involved in the Breakfast. Basic maintenance could be improved. Our room keys were temperamental, took at least 2 tries sometimes 4-5 times.

One star for they "forgot" to let us and other guests know there was massive construction going on from early morning hours every day across the street and noise with vibrations was unbelievable. The building was literally shaking. It was impossible to sleep after 7am... And staying in the room until 4p.m. was a torture too. The management never warned us about it..
Hotel itself okay. Mediocre breakfast.

Amazing staff and hotel. Wish the valets would refrain from changing my presets on the radio, seat, and mirrors (not just adjusting them, but actually changing the stored positions). Breakfast was superb!! Room was super clean!

My wife and I arrived at this hotel immediately after flying in from Philadelphia to begin a one-week vacation in San Diego and Palm Springs. I had reserved my room on the Embassy Suites website, choosing a bay view room with balcony, at extra cost. I also paid extra to request a high floor. But when I checked-in at the hotel, they seemed to have no knowledge of the balcony or the high floor. I had to argue with them, to try to get something I thought was already a sure thing. After 15 minutes of unpleasant wrangling with the staff, I finally got the room I wanted. But this initial experience was a very bad way to start a vacation. After that mess, things got much better. Our suite was excellent. There is a door you can close between the two rooms of the suite, enhancing privacy if needed. The rooms were spacious and loaded with all the bells and whistles: fridge, microwave, kitchen, 2 sinks, 2 TVs, in-room coffee, a good-sized balcony and a terrific view of San Diego Harbor. The free breakfast was outstanding, including the made-to-order omelettes and eggs. The hotel's breakfast room is very large and this main public room is used for a variety of events. The late afternoon happy hour (free wine, beer and cocktails!) was very popular, although we did not attend because we were usually outside sightseeing during that time of day. We just noticed what a great time everybody was having. I enjoyed using the outdoor hot tub, but did not use the indoor pool. The Embassy Suites concept, where the hotel has a gigantic atrium in the middle, is an old concept, but this hotel does not feel terribly out of date, and there is a nice sociability created by the breakfast and happy hour, which take place in the atrium each day. The hotel is in good condition. The location is great in terms of the waterfront, but not great in terms of fun neighborhoods to explore on foot. Near this hotel there are nice places to walk to, including large shopping centers and the waterfront promenade, but there is no funky neighborhood nearby with sidewalk cafes. We wanted the water views, so we chose this hotel. The hotel has plenty of conveniences: there is a well-stocked convenience store/ sandwich shop in the building, and a Baskin & Robbins store and a Dunkin Donuts, and a gift shop for souvenirs. Our room was an excellent value considering we got a fabulous view from the 10th floor balcony of our suite, all for about $245/ night including tax and fees. Based on my extensive travel experience, this is a very low price, when you get all these amenities. We greatly enjoyed staying here, after the bad experience that greeted us.

A great experience again, clean room, friendly staff and just nice place to stay. I really like their way to welcome your with a complimentary happy hour with light snacks, cold and hot drinks. The complimentary breakfast is just amazing from the omelet bar and full breakfast with the trimmings. Both very well done and organized.

Centrally located to restaurants, entertainment and the USS Midway this is a convenient hotel to stay at. Valet parking is the only option and its $41, a little high especially if staying multiple nights otherwise a great hotel.

The rooms are large and nice enough, but the only parking is valet at around 50 dollars a day, and there is no free Wi-Fi. It seems like they really get you with the hidden costs, and this is a hotel that already charges quite a bit.

On arrival this place was awesome valet was amazing it cost $50 But so worth it. Check in was really quick considering I have toddlers and they get easily bored. Walking into the open lay out was exciting. Our room was very comfortable for 2 adults and 3 kids we used the 2 queen beds and the pull out mattress. The mattresses were comfortable they have extra pillows available in the dresser if needed. They have the evening reception every night which included beverages (and yes adult beverages) and light snacks such as chips, crackers, and pretzel mix with 3 different dips. Breakfast had a good spread and my indecisive made it harder pick what I wanted. As for the pool and spa the area was clean and very busy. The gym was small dumbbells only went up to 50 so if u work with heavier weights I suggest more reps. They had 3 treadmills that are well used (bring your headphones they are noisy) also had 2 elipticals they worked just fine. a sit down bike that works great. I Highly recommend you sanitize the equipment before u use most people didn't wipe down the equipment after using it. They have a gift shop and bar and grill on the lower deck. I recommend staying here.

Definitely worth the visit and experience! Compared to the Bayfront Hilton, this place is by far, the best for breakfast, social hours, location, and friendly hospitality. They went out of their way to get my family transportation to the airport and various places in San Diego. I will definitely endorse positive reviews to this incredible hotel.

Service was excellent. The room has an extremely loud air-conditioning unit, the hot water handle on the sink is not attached and the toilet has a white buildup in the flush handle and tank. People are great from check in to parking to breakfast but the condition of the room was lacking.

Good service, good included breakfast, pleasant evening reception. Adjoining Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robins is a godsend for late night cravings. Good location. Wifi a bit weak in bedroom. Expensive valet parking as only parking option.

Had an awesome room with harbour views. Made good use of the happy hour! Great restaurants nearby and a short walk to the gaslight district. Handy to the ferry to Coronado.

I had a fantastic time at this hotel. Great location central to beach attractions and the gaslamp district. Free happy hour drinks and full breakfast on the mornings was very nice as well. Had an incorrect charge on my bill after I checked out which was quickly and easily corrected with a call to their customer support.

Havent stayed as a guest. I just got about once a week to get Dunkin Donuts. Hotel lobby is always clean and the valet is always nice and personable. If I had to stay at a hotel downtown i would definitely consider the Embassy Suites to be at the top of the list.

Happy Hour is cool as as breakfast. Employees friendly and courteous. Room needs to be a little updated. The bathroom was spacious, but the cabinet needs repair. I thought the $50 parking was a little ridiculous. The valet gave my keys to someone else who had a similar car, guy almost drove away! My kids and I would have been stranded!

Great! Honestly, I really don't understand the complaints about the construction. The outstanding room, incredible view, kind housekeeping staff and helpful concierge completely overshadow any negativity you could find in the construction. Calling the construction an inconvenience is selfish and rude- my stay here was anything but inconvenient. The hotel was within walking distance of everything and the price was incredible for the room we got. The suite was incredible and way bigger than I anticipated. My boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back to see the finished construction and are excited about it. Absolutely recommend!

The room was great, and clean, and location is awesome. Breakfast was really good. But they failed to let us know that their pool was closed we had to walk to the Hyatt hotel, with my children and elderly mother, it was terrible walking back wet , and carrying all of our stuff. I was very upset for the inconvenience , especially since we paid a pretty penny to stay there. Not cool at all.

Nice

Cons:

Cons:
No mini-fridge for a week.
Self serve laundry was gross.
Breakfast options were various but none of them had any decent flavour.

Pro:
Free Drinks during a 2 hour happy hour.
Location.
Nice Deli on the same block.
Views.

This was an absolute beautiful hotel. We had a suite looking out over the bay, with a great view of the Coronado Bridge. Wonderful breakfasts. Lots to choose from. Within walking distance of the Gaslamp Quarter.

Do not stay here right now. It is 8:30 on a Saturday morning and I have been laying here for over an hour listening to hammering, banging, and scraping directly above my room. Seriously seems like they may come through the ceiling at any point. Completely obnoxious.

This was by far the best Embassy Suites I have ever stayed in. The place is very well managed. The complimentary sodas and snacks are wonderful. The only downside is all valet parking, although it is free in and out. Would definitely stay there again.

1. We paid $100 for an ocean view and were lied to and given a view of the hotel next door. 2. We were reprimanded VERY rudely when filling our cups with the coffee in the lobby that SHOULD be complimentary all day and there is no sign saying it isn t.
3. They had the audacity to start construction and POUNDING at 8am on a Sunday morning on the two rooms next door to our suite! With no warning! It was horrible!
I will advise all my guests that come visit us in San Diego and anyone that inquires to NEVER stay at one of these hotels. So disappointed especially with the price. Motel 6 would ve been more enjoyable.

Very pleasant experience with this hotel! Not a single complaint I can think of. Very spacious rooms, great breakfast, love the happy hour, and the staff was polite and helpful. I will be back!

Beautiful hotel with great views. This hotel offers a five minute walk to San Diego's seaport village a ten minute walk to the convention center and about a ten minute walk to the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum. The hotel offers valet parking an indoor heated pool and fitness center and a small business center. In the morning there is a free contental breakfast and in the evening a reception offering light snacks a wide assortment of beverages from juice for the kids to wine and beer for the adults. The rooms are modern and quite big and come with free WiFi.
