All the superlatives do not say enough. Come see this masterpiece.
All the superlatives do not say enough. Come see this masterpiece.
If you do not want to book the ticket, I recommend to go no later than 9.30 and no earlier than 16.00 in order to avoid long waits and spend only 8 against the 12 of the one booked online and for a limited number.
I just queued for 15 minutes ... the tour is not long and there is no crowd to see the David.
Awesome!
Without a doubt, one of Michelangelo's masterpieces.
You can not miss this wonder.
In the same museum you can see the Palestine Piety and several sculptures of the slaves.
Very impressive inspiring work. Highly recommended.
Simply spectacular, you come to this Gallery to see it. If what makes you come is only this is for something, it is something that has to be seen.
4.30m of pure perfection. All that's left to say is
Absolute must see. A very long wait so get there early to avoid queues if possible.
Absolutely mandatory to see it. I'm not an art connoisseur and I hardly get excited about a work, but I still remember the chills that I felt as soon as I saw it
A masterpiece of the biblical hero David, who took down the giant Philistine Goliath. This is an awesome place to visit if you come anywhere near Florence, Italy. David is a must see when viewing Michelangelo's fabulous work. It's huge, detailed and there is a lot of history behind the artist and his subjects.
Fun facts:
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, known best as simply Michelangelo, was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect and poet of the High Renaissance born in the Republic of Florence, who exerted an unparalleled influence on the development of Western art.
David is described in the Hebrew Bible as the third king of the United Monarchy of Israel and Judah, after Ish-bosheth. In the biblical narrative, David is a young shepherd who gains fame first as a musician and later by killing the enemy champion Goliath.
Goliath is described in the biblical Book of Samuel as a Philistine giant defeated by the young David in single combat. The story signified Saul's unfitness to rule, as Saul himself should have fought for Israel.
There isn't much to this museum outside of David but trust me when I say that David alone is 100% absolutely worth the price of admission. Never before have I seen a sculpture I was more moved by. Unbelievable detail and elegance...I think I could stare at it for hours and still feel like I wanted more. Breath taking piece of art...
Really spectacular but the big right hand disproportionate
Amazing works of Michaelangelo, David and the unfinished prigione. Can get quite busy during the peak times. Worth the wait though.
If you ever visit Florence/Firenze without locating David, be rest assured that your visit is not yet complete. You may have to plan again for another visit. The gigantic statue of David is worth the sight. It's magnificent . However, to enter the gallery, one is required to pay within 3 to 10 euros. I am not sure of how much I paid. You can go as early as possible because of the long queue but David is worth the pay and the wait.
Can get quite crowded, check for extended hours on many days when the lines are much shorter.
Mainly because of David's sculpture, which is impressive. But there are many paintings that are not well explained, and there is some saturation of plaster sculptures that are not understood
The line is huge! Fortunately we had booked our tickets from the internet and we didn't have to wait
The employees are amazing. They're soooo helpful!
It's big statue great history but not the most information in the gallery. Very busy
Such a iconic work of art , thankful we hired a private guide to navigate the lines and specific points of interest
The statue is much bigger than you expect, one way system and very strict Marshalls keep you going correctly
Excellent museum. Immortal and glorious works worth seeing and saving to remember a lifetime
Great to be close to it. Got free entrance on a Sunday.
In the Gallery of the Academy of Arts of Florence, the beauty and perfection of the magnificent sculpture of "DAVID" by Michelangelo Buonarroti. Besides this exuberant, other perfections and other unfinished, they are beautiful. Charms that exalt the Academy of Arts!
David is the jewel of the museum along with the instrument room in my opinion
Not to be missed. It really excites watching it live.
The sculpture of David is incredible, you can see many details such as the veins of the hands and feet. There are also spectacular paintings that seem unreal inside the museum.
Closed on the day I went there. Website said it was open.
best place ever, god gave us things like thins to show us that he is real!!!!
it was so fun I went during my backpacking adventure and was definitely better that even the Eiffel tower!!
It is a must if you are visiting the city. I bought my tickets online, it was really easy and without a queue.
Simply spectacular, hundreds of photos cannot even remotely convey the idea of the perfection and magnificence of this work.
Do not miss David, the most impressive sculpture I've ever seen! Gorgeous! A perfection that
more sensitive, comes to tears!
Unquestionably beautiful even if I prefer the biancone
This very clean, well-coordinated Italian colonial style full of details that makes this place attractive, we have had a pleasant stay and we will definitely return I liked it very much
The David is beautiful, well lit, the rest of the museum a little less interesting, necessarily ...
WOW
WOW
WOW
A must go if you are ever in Florence. The sculpture is perfect to the point where the veins and muscle can be seen clearly. Nothing is more perfect than this piece of art!
To this day, I cannot recover from the amazement that was seeing David for the first time. Magnificent.
How is this not 5. This is THE best statue I have ever seen. Besides the obvious facts which are available to all but the veins in the marble look like the veins in the body. Oh boy this guy was a genius.
Wonderful. A work of art more unique than rare, majestic and imposing that stands as a monument and banner of the Italian genius in the world that is still admired and envied today. The experience of visiting it at full capacity Covid-19 with very few people and almost all Italian tourists respectful of the work and without the desire to take selfies is priceless. To visit absolutely. Immense and evocative heritage that excites and moves.
If you don't know the art of the century, it won't be very entertaining. There is much to see and many tourists.
Wanting to see David. That was the highlight of the visit.
There are no words to describe this, you must see it for yourself. Any knock off in the piazzas is just that, a knock off. See the real David. Any wait in line is worth it. You have to see it to believe it!
There are a large number of people in the square. To get to the sculpture of David - you need to try hard.
Unique in the world. Perfection made possible by a master like Michelangelo
This is truly amazing! I've spent more than an hour with tears in my eyes just looking at the statue, is simply stunning!
Spectacular. Do a tour, no lines and information is necessary.
The statue is as majestic as you would expect it to be though I was pleasantly surprised after being disappointed by the Mona Lisa. Unlike Da Vinci's famous painting in France, this statue is not completely surrounded by a ton of folks all the time. You can get quite close to it, walk around it, and appreciate the details of Michaelangelo's work.
Make sure you make your reservation in advance to avoid the long lines at the entrance and you will be good to go!
The European Academy of Art student ID is free! !! !!
Super expensive museum. Not more than 2 hours are needed. The music section is small but interesting with some Stradivarius violins. David is a must see but still expensive for foreign students.
Incredible. Suggestion not to come with small children !!!
Spectacular beautiful imposing an absolute masterpiece
You're nice but I wouldn't mess with you, see you at the bars
Stunning, just as simple as that. If like me, you think "I've seen the pics many time, can't impress me", go there and thank me later!
A magnificent work, which demonstrates the incomparable talent of Miguel Angel
Appearance that seems to start moving immediately and beat Goliath.
