Truly splendid work, although there is a copy in piazza della signoria (in marble) and a copy in piazzale Michelangelo (in bronze) they are not comparable to the indescribable David exhibited in the gallery.

A visit to Florence is not a visit until you have visited the Academia and seen Michael. a stunning sculpture of perfection. The paintings and sculpture gallery are absolutely amazing. You will not be disappointed. Buy your tickets online so you don't have to wait I. A long line.
