It took just over two hours to pass security and the ticket line. Be wary, there are two lines - one is for taking the lift up to the second floor with a transfer to the top; the other line is to take the stairs to the second floor then the lift (cheaper). Many people on our visit made this mistake and stood in the line for an hour before realising! If you pre-book priority tickets, you d beat the queues but at a much higher premium.

If you choose to walk up to the second floor, there s 669 steps and will be good cardio with one or two short breaks but it could be difficult for some.

The view from the top is breathtaking but very crowded - it s the Eiffel Tower after all. It s a must do activity in Paris and you can t say you ve visited Paris without it! Highly recommend!

beuty by itself! man made wonder. ther is always something to watchout for on the 1st floor.. i got to experience ice skating last year. beautiful view of the city from the 2nd floor.. and on the 3rd floor nothing much as its jus clouds and cold breeze that in front of you and ofcourse you are on the tip of the sky scraper!

If you have kids. It best to go there around 7 pm. When the sun is not so bright. Its great adventure to take the stairs. Make it a race with you kids. Also you get to se inside of the foot of the tower. Notice. The area is now very secure, and they will check you bags before you are allowed to come inside the area right under the tower. All in all a very great experience

Buy yourself a timed ticket to avoid some of the lines, or better yet buy yourself a guided tour and learn more about the history of this amazing feat of engineering.

If you do buy a guided tour make sure you double check whether or not it includes access to the third floor (many don't, but the view from the second is still awesome!).

Take the stairs down from the second floor for a better look at the structure. Totally worth it, far less crowded, and only takes a few minutes.

And the most important place to visit when you are in Paris, the city of Love. The place is so beautiful that you would not love to leave it soon. It has a different set of tickets which you can enquiry over the counter. They have a proper queue system for tickets. They have well cleaned and sustained lifts to access to different zones. Summit is the top, from where you can have an amazing view of the city. It feels like you are in the sky and watching over the city.

It has bakery, gift and souvenir shops at the top (costly). It has a kissing spot as well.

One of the best of Paris, loads of visitors. For those who wants to go inside the tower, avoid the long queue, purchase your tickets online. Beware of snatches, don't be fooled by the games around, and don't sign any document. There's a hop on hop off city view buses around the tower for those that wants to have a sight of the city, fares begins with 7.

Speechless experience!

Speechless experience!

One visiting this place should definitely visit the top floor for the wonderful experience.

And on the ground there is vice point opposite the the tower. Here, you can find people performing stunts on skates. People and children of all age shall enjoy the special moments happening here.

Overall thumbs up!

A must see for anyone's bucket list. This is truly a best in the world place to visit. The Eiffel Tower is a majestic work of art on a fantastic scale. Brilliant architecture. Take the trip to the top and see unparalleled views of Paris. Each direction lets you look out as if you were in an airplane. An extraordinary experience.

Just as good in person as it looks on TV. Best time to get to the tower is about an hour before the Sunset. This way you can get good pictures in sunlight and after dark. Also try to get to the 2nd level of the tower before the Sunset as the city has a completely different look under the night lights.

It is always nice to visit an icon from a country even as we know some French can be arrogant but like always reflect yourself if you standing there all day with all those people rushing to get in you get crazy. But going up is bit pricey but you do once in lifetime and it's a nice experience..just go and do it.

La grande dame... no matter how old you are, no matter where you come from, you will always feel this sense of awe but also humility when facing one of the world s wonder. Truely unique, irreplaceable and so close to our hearts... a beacon in dark

Great view, nice experience! Might worth the extra cost to get a guide and show you Paris' landmarks from above, get some historical background of them and learn about Paris.
There are two ways to experience this till 2nd level, either going by elevator or by stairs at a reduced cost. Also in case you book tickets online some days ahead of your visit make sure you will visit on a clear sky. It's so easy to get foggy up there and miss the whole experience.

There's only one Eiffel Tower (of you don't count the ones at Lego Land and Las Vegas)! The best place to see it from is the Place du Trocadero. Then you realise quite how massive it is! Quite a remarkable spectacle.

Built in 1889 this is the most popular building of France and Paris all around the world. Whenever someone thinks of Paris this is the first building that comes to mind. No one can come to Paris and not see this building. I was riding my Uber here and got to see the garden that was very beautiful and leading up to the tower. You can see all the tourist stand by and busses. Good thing it was a weekday and business hour so was not so crowded. I didn t get a chance to go up the tower but I will add that to me do list next time. Just be careful of some people asking for money , I think i got scammed by some girls. I was there last November and the weather was beautiful too

We came at night and it was a great experience. You will need to push past a large number of traders in front of the entrance trying to sell you cheap models of the tower before you can finally get in. The view at Level 2 is amazing and you can see right across Paris. Even at 10pm the queue to get on the lift to go to the top was very, very long. We didn't spend too much time at the top as it was very busy and windy.

And there it stands with its vibrant aura, erect ,strong yet lonely. The world went beyond it's definition, oblivious and reckless. With everything to give and nothing to take it stands there, shining bright and beautiful and carrying the pain of lonely souls.
The moment my eyes fell into the magnificent tower, I could not change my gaze. It makes you feel the love in the air and will always remind you that you are not alone if you love yourself.

Very nice view, but way too too crowded. You have to queue for security, for ticket purchase, for security 2, for elevator 1 up, elevator for 3rd floor up, elevator on 3rd floor down, elevator down. That took us in total 4h from the beginning of the queue to the way out. Also, i don't remember that was that expensive... Maybe the montparnasse could be a better option to enjoy Paris' view...

Given it's a must! It is really cool to see they marked directions of different countries as well the largest buildings in comparison. Not to mention the view is amazing. We went at night and got off on the second floor so we can watch the lights go off on the top of the hour. Brilliant!

For sure it's a place you have to be. God security control but bad toilets supply. 3 m line is nothing for a place like that, but it didn't move....when you get in you get the answer. Of all 12 ladies toilets there was only 8 in function , 8 toilets for the Eiffel which is on tens thunthans of visit every day. Found a stuff asked if there is any other one. The answer was no, only that one. So go to bathroom before you get ahead Eiffel.

Truly a must visit. Went to level 2 with lift and descended back using the stairs, using stairs is a experience on its own. The view from above is spectacular. Also visited the tower during night, it's a completely different experience. Watching the tower glow with some amazing guitar on the side is unforgettable.

[n]ot only the art of the modern engineer, but also the century of Industrand Science in which we are living, and for which the way was prepared by the great scientific movement of the eighteenth century and by the Revolution of 1789, to which this monument will be built as an expression of France's gratitude.[6]

After some debate about the exact location of the tower, a contract was signed on 8 January 1887. This was signed by Eiffel acting in his own capacity rather than as the representative of his company, and granted him 1.5 million francs toward the construction costs: less than a quarter of the estimated 6.5 million francs. Eiffel was to receive all income from the commercial exploitation of the tower during the exhibition and for the next 20 years. He later established a separate company to manage the tower, putting up half the necessary capital himself.[7]

Artists' protest

Caricature of Gustave Eiffel comparing the Eiffel tower to the Pyramids
The proposed tower had been a subject of controversy, drawing criticism from those who did not believe it was feasible and those who objected on artistic grounds. Prior to the Eiffel Tower's construction, no structure had ever been constructed to a height of at least 300 metres, and many people believed it impossible. These objections were an expression of a long-standing debate in France about the relationship between architecture and engineering. It came to a head as work began at the Champ de Mars: a "Committee of Three Hund

Its a landmark that is majestic and beautiful. You cannot take your eyes off of it especially when its lit up during the night. Every hour the twinkling lights come on for about five minutes and it's mesmerizing. If you are in Paris you should definitely visit it.

We arrived at the Eiffel Tower and i thought we can catch the lift up to the 3 level once i saw how high it was.The views the whole way up got better and better we had lunch on the 2nd level and eat on a seat enjoying the views then went to the final level unbelievable how much you can see. The views from the second level are the best for photography because they are closer.I went on a beautiful clear day and from the top you can see forever.
There is a small champagne bar at the top level if you are so inclined.
On the second level as are snack bar and gift shops
This was one of the best experiences Ive ever had.

One of the things you cannot miss on your visit to Paris is the Eiffel tower.
A breath taking experience and an amazing view of the city from above, have to visit the tower in the night and go right on top and see the view of the city from above while sipping a cup of coffee.

Another thing is don't miss the light show of the Eiffel Tower. If I'm not wrong it happens at 12am everyday.

Nice as expected. Visited it at night and in the morning. Both times give me wonderful sights. Expect crowd everytime you visit this landmark. There are also so many couples doing their pre-wedding photo session. Stay aware of your belongings as Paris is known for its pickpocket.

Wish came true when visited and saw this huge iron tower, really amazing!! Surrounding area is beautiful. Well managed but have to wait for an hour for your turn due to large number of tourists. Total 3 floors and each floor are designed differently. From top floor, view of Paris can not describe in words.

It is better to purchase ticket online before the visit in order to shorten the waiting time. Currently, there s construction work in the surrounding of Eiffel Tower. So it is closed by fences. It takes about one hour just to pass the security check through the entrance of the fences. Once you enter the fence gate, you have to wait another hour (only in the morning when there s less tourists) to buy ticket. The lines for stairway is shorter if you are up to 674 steps exercise.

I've visited this place on a sunny afternoon. On first look, I was very disappointed by looking at some Rusty (that's how I felt) tower.

But after looking at night time with dazzling lights. It's a wow moment. Again next day when I looked on day light, I have very positive feeling and it's pretty.

One of the most rewarding views in Paris. After waiting in a line for a short amount of time one elevator transports you up to the first/second platform. (In my opinion the second platform had the better view). Unfortunately I had not the chance to visit the third platform.

Ofcourse the Eiffel Tower was excellent to visit. It's a historical monument and the staple of Paris. It's majestic size and beautiful glittering lights at night are just spectacular. Climbing to the mid point was a workout well worth it. Having a savory and a sweet crepe both at the same time was superb as you exit the fabulous monument. A must see! Enjoy!

Unfortunately upper level was closed due to wind. That really took from the occasion. Otherwise very impressive and safe. The focus on safety means you can only access the tower from certain points and that means the hawkers know where to be.

Very interesting place. Nice to visit and hear about the history of it's creation and how perfect it was built. There are two separate kinds of tickets: with visiting just the first and the second floor and with coming to the top of the tower. Would recommend to visit the top (the summit of the tower).

It is a dream coming here.
Favourite and best time to visit for me is at night time.
However, it was beautiful throughout the entire day.
The Tower lights and sparkles on the hour for a few minutes and is breathtaking.
Be carefull of the Hustlers trying to sell Eiffle Tower Souvenirs or fake/used Eiffle Tower passes
They are harmless but can be annoying.

We visited at 8pm to see the city at night and it was very impressive. The tower at this time wasn't mad busy and we didn't have to queue to get in. The view from level 1 and 2 is good but the view from the top viewpoint is amazing, you can see the whole of Paris in all its glory. One of the things you must do when visiting Paris as it is not very expensive.

There is nothing more to say than the fact that there isn't an iota of doubt as to why this structure is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. A piece of beauty at the centre of Paris. Sitting in the garden facing the eiffel tower, with the golden rays of a beautiful evening adding to the texture of the bronze colour of the structure is an experience that is a must have in Paris. While that is the case, the only downside is that there are too many people trying to sell you mini eiffel towers and its understandable that they are trying to make a living, but the sheer number makes it difficult to have an extended moment with this monument without being disturbed. Nonetheless a must visit.

I took the high speed train from Frankfurt to Paris. I traveled First Class. The train got up to 150 MPH once we left the German border. I visited the Eiffel Tower. There are many tourist from all over the world and it was crowded. The view was breath taking. At night, on the hour the Eiffel Tower twinkles. Another breath taking view.

I visited Paris and the Eiffel Tower in 1972. It has always been beautiful memory and in 2017, my 2nd visit, reinforced my love for Paris.

We did a guided tour. There's no history lesson boards really on the eiffel, so it's better to do some kind of tour. I recommend the earliest time. We went at 845 and started climbing around 915. We had tickets in advance so we could skip the line, even the security line. A bonus is in the summer, you still get a few hours of the cool air before it heats up by the time you get to the summit (if you chose to do it). Plus if you go on your first day, you can point out all the stuff you want to do during your trip and get a pretty good idea of how close or far they are--helpful when using public transportation.
