2 Families travelling to Toronto for 3 nights..... Here was our experience! - booked 2 rooms last Thursday under a friends name, requested rooms near one another and a pet free room as 3 out of the 8 travellers have severe pet allergies and respiratory issues. We were told there were pet free floors so we asked to be on one of those floors. - Arrived at 4:30 (check in time is 3pm)and rooms we not ready. We were told that there were no pet free floors or rooms and that the rooms were taking longer due to the fact that they needed to be deep-cleaned. Had we known this in advance, we would not have booked this hotel. - We were told we would not be charged for parking due to the inconvenience of having 4 children and no where to put our bags. - That evening, breathing became difficult and needed to take asthma puffers several times. Others in the other room also experienced difficulties with their allergies. - The next morning, we reported this to the front desk and were told that there was nothing they could do as the rooms had been deep cleaned. I inquired as to what a deep clean entailed the woman at the counter said a really good cleaning including duvet covers and the couch fabrics and carpets shampooed....this made no sense as the carpets and couch were not wet when we got into the room. - Also, there was food under the couch and hairs in the washroom?? Deep clean?? - She basically told us we were welcome to go to another hotel. - Since we were two families and the room set up was perfect and we had a full schedule for the trip, we decided to try to tough it out. - The shower in our friends room also needed to be repaired as they had no water pressure upon arrival. - The next day, I had to call my doctor and have a script called in to a nearby drugstore for a new puffer as I had emptied it the night before. - At check out, my friend complained about the whole pet-allergy ordeal, and the manager gave her a $75 credit on her bill. The manager told her that the need for a deep clean was missed and that the rooms weren t really given a full deep clean as they just noticed the note on our reservation when we arrived. She apologized for the inconvenience. - Expecting a similar outcome for our room, my husband went to check out expressed our concerns and disappointment. He was told there was nothing they could do. - I was confused so I went to the front desk myself and asked to speak to Katherine the manager. Assuming she understood the situation well, I figured she would apply the credit to our bill as well. - At first she refused to speak to me as the reservation wasn t under my name. I told her at check-in, two separate credit cards under 2 different names were given so they are separate reservations. She checked this in the computer and then decided she could speak to me. - First, she tried to tell me that it was our fault the rooms were late because we wanted rooms near each other. Second, she told me that only one of the rooms had pet allergies on the reservation which is false because at check in, the woman behind the desk knew both rooms needed to be deep-cleaned. Third she told me that since she already compensated my friends bill, she could not compensate mine. Then she basically told me to call head office if I had a problem with it. This was not the reaction I was expecting as she seemed helpful to my friend. Maybe she didn t like my face or my tone, but I was upset and frustrated as I hadn t slept properly in 3 nights. - Worst hotel experience I have ever had in all my 43 years. I wasn t looking for a free ride, just wanting someone to understand the situation for what it was and be able to rectify this problem for future guests.
Went there for Centum Supreme Mortgage conference and a excellent time. Excellent food and excellent service. Compliments to the chef and staff. Dwayne Grindley
Great rooms and service. Bar and breakfast were well stocked and quite decent. A good stay nearby anything in Markham, though downtown is about an hour with traffic.
Utilities defects and lack of attention to repairs and general up keeping. Showered around 1:30am and there was warm water. However the drain was extremely slow so by the time I was done showering I was in a pool of my own dirty water. Used the sink around 9am to wash up in the morning and there was NO hot water! Even the icy cold water was going in and out. This is not something I d expect at a hotel of this caliber! Access to hot water is a necessity and this was a complete joke! When I checked out of the hotel the staff didn t even ask how my stay was. I hope someone reads these google reviews. Also one of the lightbulbs was already burnt out in the bedroom and wasn t replaced before I was assigned the room - 833. Please attend to and remedy your defects.
We love this property and we've stayed here over the years. We've been impressed that we booked the presidential suite for our wedding because the front desk team at Markham really is the epitome of exceptional service! We look forward to sharing the special day with this Hilton Team!
Hands down, the BEST hotel! Rooms are very spacious & clean. Bakery is amazing . Must try ! We had breakfast at the restaurant and my daughter ordered off the menu because she was too late for the buffet. She ordered 2 egg whites and the chef prepared 4 egg whites because the portion looked small. We traveled with our 1 yr old puppy for the first time and the hotel was very accommodating. Hotel is very pet friendly and there was plenty of grass to walk the dog. Bakery even got him a small glass of cold water after his walk. Staff is very friendly and so much fun to talk to. The only complaint is that housekeeping staff (not manager) talks among themselves and complains about people at the hotel .... for example - how there are too many dogs at hotel and some people leave a mess. We put booties on our puppy so that he does not track mud and grass in the room. Our puppy is trained not the bite furniture and chew personal items. They weren t directing the remarks at us, but my daughter was offended because they were talking right beside her in the hallway. Above all, I would DEFINITELY return to this hotel.
Attended a business function - the food was so-so, and the room had pillars down the middle which made for some of the seating to be "limited sightlines" ... Not well thought out. Additionally, the signage to direct us to the event was poor, at best. Overall not what I would have expected from a company like "Hilton".
The one bedroom suite was very big and spacious. You could easily fit another couple in the living room on the sofa bed. I liked that they used Crabtree & Evelyn amenities in the bathroom, would've given 4 stars if they had bathrobe and slippers.
Wouldn't recommend this hotel. I expected this room to be cleaned thoroughly before our stay but found a big chunk of chewed up gum on the night stand.
I attended for a Union conference. The food was good. Bar service was good. My room was clean, big, a couple TVs. Only thing it didn't have was a bathtub/Jacuzzi. Stand up shower only. The conference rooms are equipped with projectors, and there was good audio equipment. Everyone could hear everything. Overall, I'm quite pleased with my stay.
Worst hotel I've been at, for a 4 star hotel the staff doesn't have customer service and It toke me 1 hours in a half to actually get the key to go in my room. I would definitely not recommend this hotel
Nice contempory hotel. However, when we stayed there was an issue with the elevator and they were more concerned about getting this one group's luggage down then letting us take it up after breakfast.
Came for a brunch on a Sunday. Lovely atmosphere with love music and great selection of custom omelette options, appetizers, hot foods, and desserts. Costs approximately $50 per person for a buffet style brunch.
The Christmas brunch buffet is great - delicious selection of food including desserts, live music, and terrific service. We come here most Christmases and it's always a treat for the family.
Great service, and friendly staff..the rooms are spacious with floor to ceiling windows but the bar and the room services was till 11 PM. Had a great experience staying at Hilton Markham. Looking forward to our next stay.
Excellent location very close to client. Great fitness center with a huge number of machines and variety equipment to use. However the fitness center doesn't open early enough to get a full workout done in the morning before going to client. Rooms are great and staff is great.
Clean and spacious. My only comment is: why the charge for the gym/pool every day as an added cost when it isn't usual in other hotels? I never had a chance to use it because of demands of the conference. Also the restaurant has really slow! So if you are in a rush be careful!
Had a great visit, enjoyed the pool and sauna. Food and drinks in the lobby were as good as hotels usually go, and staff for us were friendly and accomodating. Small downer was not being able to figure out chromecast option on tv, but not a huge deal. Room assistance came up right away and put in a good effort to at least try and make it work so points for that, but that and better food would make it a 5 star for me.
I was quite upset when I ordered room service pizza and got a barely cooked frozen pizza served on cardboard. There is always a bit of a ripped off feeling that comes with room service but this one was especially disappointing!
