I've stayed at The Epiphany several times over the past year and I strongly recommend the hotel. The pros are location, friendly staff and a plethora of restaurants and shops around the hotel. The rooms are new, modern and compact. Excellent beds and bedding and premium bauthrrom amenities.
This was my fourth stay at The Epiphany hosting a group of clients and it was wonderful as usual. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and in a great location. The staff is even better - they are genuine, kind and very attentive people. I can always trust The Epiphany to have a flawless stay and event.
It is a great hotel with awesome location. Rooms are renovated and big enough for a family.
Overall good except noise from outside - strange machine sounds coming from outside rooftop, it disturbs my sleep over several nights. And hotel did not provide daily bottled water.
The modern, but eminently comfortable, rooms were only surpassed by the Epiphany's well-earned reputation for exceptional guest service.
Staff at the Epiphany were pleasant as usual. We ate at the recently opened Nobu. The restaurant is small, but well designed. The west wall is open air to Hamilton which is nice. Food was great. The menu is similar to the Malibu location and much smaller than Aspen.
Hotel did not have the correct room type I had reserved when I showed up at check in (king bed) so instead I was given an accessible room with full beds. The room was pretty nice and the bed had a great mattress. The bottle of water in the room was hilariously expensive. I put the hang tag on the door to order breakfast for the next morning, to arrive between 7 and 7:15. No sign of it at 7:15 so I called room service to check on it. After being placed on hold and transferred around, they let me know they didn't have the breakfast sandwich I had ordered and forgot to call me. They offered to make me something else and have it to be in about half an hour, which was way too late since I needed to leave for a meeting. Overall, very nice hotel, it just seems extremely poorly run.
The interior design and decor has a minimalist approach; understated but having richness. This is our preference and provides an soothing and relaxing environment for us. One element we REALLY appreciated (and miss about Japan); the toilet was not next to the shower/tub. It was in its own room. It was also a typical bidet-style toilet commonly found in Japan.
The room was equipped with convenient gadgets; its own password protected wifi, a HUGE 84" 4K Smart TV, a device to easily cast content from your own device to the TV, lights that automatically turn on/off, an Amazon Echo and maybe a few others.
It was comforting, given the current COVID-19 pandemic, the hotel had measures in place to keep guests as safe as they practically could. There was a device at the entrance that detected a person's temperature, everyone was required to wear masks, they allow 2 days been room occupancy and tables spread wide apart in the restaurant.
There was 1 minor disappointment and one that bewildered me. The minor; there was the lack of electrical outlets, particularly near the bed. Due to travel experience, I had extension cords.
The bewildering disappointment was the "disappearing staff trick". I called for additional shampoo and conditioner but got no answer. I called the front desk, housekeeping and another (forgot the third). I finally gave up. Also, when we were leaving, I drove curb-side to load suitcases but was unable to get back inside the hotel (my wife and son had the card keys). I rang the door bell several times for assistance but no one answered or came to the door. There was no staff anywhere I could flag down to open the door. I had to call my wife to come down and let me in.
Assuming the staff disappearance was an anomaly, I would still recommend this hotel. It's very handsome within and offers a very relaxing and high-tech environment.
At a private event held on the 8th floor. Great bar service and excellent food.
It was really a nice hotel, very fancy...but parking was an absolute nightmare!! Prepare yourself for this reality if you are visiting on a weekend night, especially. Yikes!!
My stay at the Ephinany was simply put: perfection! From the warm welcome to one of the valet driving me to Stanford, every staff member I came in contact with, brightened my day. The room was uber-comfortable and clean, and the food was scrumptious. I would highly recommend staying there for work or leisure either one.
I came last minute no reservation and was given a room with a huge discount on price on a very busy night in town. Staff accommodated my food sensitivities. The food for room service was truly excellent healthy delicious. And room service was lightning fast. All service was lightening fast. Very great staff.
Nice hotel in a convenient location. Staff is friendly and helpful.
The hotel is new very nice and the staff is very attentive. in some moments the hotel can offer services that are below what is expected of a hotel located in this region. It may even be because this hotel is boutique type, but still I expected things like notice of service disruption like water and other more being done well in advance.
The building is gorgeous and is in an incredible location. The restaurant made a great duck confit. Breakfast was okay, salad had too much dressing, very watery orange juice. Rooms were nice but the bed was subpar for a 5 star hotel.
The hotel location, facilities and staff are excellent. We borrowed bikes to tour Stanford. Our only reservation is that this comes at a high price.
The Epiphany was the perfect place for me to stay in Palo Alto. The hotel is in downtown district with a wide variety of restaurants and bars to entertain you during your stay. My room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay there again!
Clean, modern, cool, hip, swanky, crisp, awesome. Need I say more.
Nice hotel, if not a tad bit pretentious (the $20 bottle of water next to the bed). The lack of a parking option, and the reliance on valet, will probably rule it out of my future travel plans.
Nice hotel in a place with limited options. Breakfast was a bit average but probably because their restaurant was under renovation. Service smart and pleasant. Would stay again.
Amazing hotel at the heart of Palo Alto. It s pricey but very fancy. Excellent customer service and amenities. Love their automated everything in the room especially the sensor controlled and heated toilet. The huge Wall mounted TV is a bonus. Very well stocked room and the amazing restaurant downstairs.
Kind of disappointed! I went for my birthday and wished I didn t! The food was forgettable. I was expecting an elite restaurant but this was more like a hotel lobby place. People coming in & out from the elevator, travelers having a drink at the bar. For the price, I expected more. A special experience, which clearly this wasnt. At least a little more class. Sad.
Very stylish, classy place. Food and drinks are good.
Best hotel in Palo Alto and will be better once Nobu opens Summer 2017. Walking distance everywhere including bars, restaurants, Stanford University, Stanford Mall. Modern and comfortable rooms, great staff, gym available over the road
Great rooms and ideal location, can be expensive if you wait to book.
The cleaning staff were very attentive- one of the bell boys drove my mother to retrieve her purse, which she had left at another location the night before. Very generous. Thank you!
One week trip to Palo Alto, very tough program, the Epiphany covered my back. Normally staying in the Four Seasons but I gave this hotel a chance and rightly so. All worked without glitch, friendly and helpful staff, overall ambience, valet parking... Just great. The only fault - one day they couldn't make sauce hollandaise for breakfast!! Weird :). My next stay will be there though!
I was near the functional elevator and it was bad. I did not sleep the two nights I was there. When I called down close to midnight once, a kind gentleman said this is a noise free hotel and he would personally chase away or throw out anyone creating a ruckus. But I tried telling him it was the non-stop sound of machinery. He came back after checking out the floor and called me to say he found nothing. I don't know what he could've done in that moment, but this is for the hotel to SERIOUSLY fix. For a hotel that touts itself a noise-free hotel, the noise level at night from machinery was horribly annoying and I am not even a light sleeper.
My husband and I wanted to stay in downtown Palo Alto after my birthday dinner at NOLA. The Epiphany is conveniently located within walking distance to bars, and close enough drive to the Stanford Shopping Center. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly valet, bellhop and front desk staff. After being told it was my Birthday the front desk upgraded our room, and sent up a bottle of champagne, cupcakes and a handwritten card from the entire hotel staff. Such a lovely and personalized touch! The rooms are nice, clean and modern, staff was great, overall a great place to stay!!
Nice staff. Great rooms. However lots of rebuilding atm and breakfast kind of odd. Subpar for the price tag
Great, chic hotel in a great location. Great service and in-room products. Loved the gym. Highly recommended.
The Hotel staff was great in accommodating our working event at the hotel. Great food and atmosphere and the IT equipment was all set up and good to go when we arrived.
During check-in, requested a late check out from staff which they promised, but had to call them up on the last day to remind them.
Did not send hotel stay folio despite promises and had to make repeated phone calls to chase after a simple email receipt.
The staff at the Epiphany went above and beyond to make sure my girlfriend and I had a great anniversary date night.
Very central Palo Alto location. Larger rooms and good room service. Would not recommend rooms on the first floor (rooms start with number 2...) as they are too close to the street.
Check out the lights here when you check in very cool hotel in downtown Palo Alto. Also swing by the restaurant for drinks.
Great location. Friendly staff. Offended by $35 per night parking.
The hotel was nice and neat with a kind of retro spunk to it. The lauded whole room coonnect system was okay and not that great though.
This place is so cute and new! I love it and it's situated right in the heart of everything. Lure and till the restaurant downstairs is so amazing and the cocktails there are to die for! The business lounge area is great too and they have a great balcony! #dishcrawlapproved
Loved this hotel. Real boutique hotel with great rooms, bathrooms and restaurant
Nice modern no nonsense hotel with all tech you might need.
So close to perfect. Really lovely, sleek, Japanese-inspired style, very well appointed, amazing location in the heart of downtown Palo Alto, neat train, shops, restaurants. It would easily rate 5 stars, except for one thing: no electrical outlets near the beds. I talked to the management about this, I'm not crazy. There really are no outlets. Makes it almost impossible to charge your electronics in bed, watch Netflix or do work on your computer, charge your phone next to the bed overnight, etc. There are USB ports, but not all electronics use them and they do not support rapid charging. So, if you go, make sure you can charge with USB ports.
Great new hotel with modern styling that is uber comfortable. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to the area.
I really enjoyed all of the surprise touches I found in the Epiphany, from the art hidden in little nooks of the common areas to the fine detail in the room decor.
I also very much appreciated the diversity in staffing both in the hotel and the restaurant. Someone has obviously put some thought and effort into recruiting and retaining staff members from varied backgrounds.
Clean and beautiful! They're affiliated with a gym across the street that have various work out gear. No swimming pool, however :)
The hotel lobby is a bit cramped but we were there for Nobu. The service is pretty good at Nobu considering it was the second week they were open. We are not impressed by the quality of the raw fish. But the classic dishes were excellent: the lobster, the popcorn shrimp, the okra, the shishito peppers, and black cod.
Beautiful place efficient manager good e new place only 5 miles to Facebook
Awesome restaurant! Keeps the Nobu tradition alive!! The ambiance here is great and their bathroom is on point! Check my photo!
Great location, great service. Expensive valet parking though.
The hotel is taking good Covid precautions. When I called to book the room the man that helped me was very courteous and helpful. He answered all my questions and knows the area very well. When you are visiting a place for the first time that is important. The decor is beautiful. It will make you miss Japan if you have ever been lucky enough to visit or live there. The toilets are Japanese style and in their own room which I really loved. The showers are amazing. The tea/bar area has a nice kettle and tea pot you can use as well as a Nespresso machine. There are no electrical outlets near the beds so bring an extension chord. The staff is very nice and tried to meet our needs which are pretty standard but they fell short. I think this may have something to do with Covid so I might come back after Covid to experience what it is like to stay there during a time of normal operation. I think they may have cut the staff way down which is understandable. I tried their "text concierge" service at their urging but they never responded. I called downstairs at 8:30pm because the television stopped working and they never answered. I tried calling from my cell phone and got voice mail. For $500 a night I was expecting more but it wasn't bad.
Incredibly welcoming staff and wonderful accomodations
The hotel is located almost directly on the city center. Service very good, food Japanese and really expensive. You have to like fish. A little bit the hotel wants to be more than it is. Stylish but not comfortable.
Really nice room. Fresh fruit and nice note upon entry. Great service. Espresso machine in room was nice to have as well. Wish I would had time to try breakfast, looked really good and unique.
New hotel with a great location right in Palo Alto. Rooms could be a little bigger, but the quality of the decor and staff more than compansate.
The staff are amazing, shout out to Ralph!! Hotel and location are awesome!! Coming back for sure!
Breakfast at ala cart. The portions are not large. The selection is small.
Clean not large rooms, water in the room for money)
We had light snack at Nobu. There were only a few items on the menu but they were good. The spicy tuna, especially, was savory and balanced, and Japanese inspired. The seaweed used was high quality. Cocktails were well made, not too sweet. Wasn't cheap but worth the price
Bottom line. Was extremely happy with our stay and will recommend Epiphany to friends and family. Staff were super all around and obviously had good training and understanding of providing quality customer service. We received an upgrade to a suite (upon my asking since we were celebrating our anniversary and also came on The Weekend package) which was a real treat & really appreciated. Room was gorgeous with great amenities including shampoo/conditioner in large bottles so as not to create waste with so many small unnecessary bottles. The surprise delivery of champagne and snacks put the stay at 5 stars! It's the little things that make a stay special. Exactly what I was looking for to spend a weekend away with my hubby, Thanks Epiphany staff!!
The room air-conditioning could be better. No pool and gym in the building
The service was amazing and fast! The rooms were perfect and so easy the food.
We picked this hotel for a staycation. It is one of only a few in the heart of downtown Palo Alto. It sits at the end of downtown and very easy to walk to where we had reservations for dinner. The staff was AMAZING!!! I cannot tell you enough. Working in customer service, I notice and appreciate when I see people go above and beyond. The Jazz at the front desk always knew the (last) names of each guest, were very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean, and because we were celebrating a birthday, they went beyond to make us feel welcome with a cupcake! The only negative was when we got there, the valet was horribly rude, and I do not tip on rude behavior. When we left, there was a new valet and he was just as friendly as the rest of the staff. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
When I travel, the most important things to me are a safe hotel with comfortable, quiet rooms. This place delivers with excellent service and a convenient location: the Palo Alto Caltrain stop and transit depot are walking distance, as are a many restaurants and shops.
It is pricey, but only a bit more than other hotels in the area. The location and quiet makes it worth a bit extra to me. My family enjoys staying here when they travel with me because the staff are so nice and helpful.
We have stayed in a lot of hotels and everyone commented about how quiet the rooms are at this hotel. I don't know if the insulation between floors and rooms is better than anywhere else, or if it is the other guests who are just more quiet and less "stompy," but we have never had a problem here.
I have not used the gym across the street, but it looks like a nice place.
Loved my first time stay at the Epiphany! Amazingly helpful staff, clean, comfortable rooms, perfect location. The restaurant, Lure + Till is awesome too. Can't wait to come back.
I actually went there to pick a package up and, even though they couldn't find it, the ladies at the front desk were super kind and helpful!
