The location is one of SoCal best as Duke's stands at the front of The Huntington Beach Pier in HB Plaza. The view is very nice for those dining. Everything about Duke's is something special. The entrance is inviting with special photos (historic), and a view through all the way to the beach and the pier. A gracious hostess to direct you and make sure that you enjoy your visit.
The view is a bit removed from the beach style bar but you can see through to the beach. The atmosphere makes up for that though as the bar is very active and friendly. I found it very easy to meet people and I was invited to join a nice couple.
I think you will enjoy Duke's every time you visit. Make it near sunset and you will enjoy that immensely.

Overall this is a positive review of Duke's restaurant. Went for Sunday afternoon brunch. Had a nice time even though we were in the tail end of a storm. Note: make a reservation for the Sunday brunch by Friday night. There is a large wait that you won't get in until much later.

Pros: Good food. Really scrumptious coconut french toast, and macadamia nut pancakes. Nice waiters and waitresses who try to satisfy any reasonable request.
Cons: Parking - Can't get free parking anywhere close and valet will cost you $8.
Lack of buffet choices after 1:30 pm - Most of their offerings we're almost empty for about 20 minutes after we first tried to get our food; consequently try to get some dessert at around 2:00... forget it. I had to bring leftovers to the table for everyone to taste.
Too few wait staff - our waiter John was tremendous when he could get to our table. Unfortunately he was being pulled left and right by the number of parties that he was serving. We had to wait so many times that we just asked the first available wait person for water or drink refills.

I will go there again but only with a reservation before 12 noon. It became too hectic between 12 and 2 pm.

This place used to have THE BEST bloody mary's, unfortunately they must have changed the recipe because I was extremely disappointed with the one I got. I haven't been there in years and I wish I would have made more of an effort to get there sooner, oh well.

Came to the barefoot bar for music and happy hour. Found out that it is not indeed a barefoot bar, and doesn't really have views of anything. Oh well, not that big of a deal. Music was inside in the corner of the bar area, which unfortunately you can't hear from the patio outside. Meh. Happy hour isn't that great, unfortunately only the kona lager is priced down, which is really stupid. Appetizers were good. Service was OK. Probably won't go back.

Yum!

We met a college friend of my wife's here for Sunday Brunch back in October. The food was wonderful and we were fortunate to sit at a table with a fantastic view of the pier and beach. Service was every bit as wonderful as the food was. I'd recommend Duke's to anyone visiting Huntington Beach.

Overall, it was great! Beautiful location and view. My birthday guest and I decided to share Poke and Cajun fish tacos and Nachos. While we enjoyed the tacos, it was unanimous that the Nachos failed miserably. They were extremely dry and bland despite all our efforts to "doctor" them up. Finally, we complained and the waitress was kind enough to remove them from our bill. Kudos for customer service with a great attitude!

Valet parking was priceless!

Menu looked great! There are several more items that I am looking forward to trying, so I will be back!

What an amazing view! You could put a trash can here and make money
Files however is not a trash can. It's a super restaurant. The food was fantastic. The service was exceptional and the process were what is expect to pay at a more average restaurant. There is NOTHING average about Dukes.

Beautiful restaurant right at Huntington Beach pier. I have been meaning to go to this place for years amd finally did. As I didnt sample everything, I will comment on what I did try. Deep fried Calamari: Great. Bloody Mary: Amazing. Fish Tacos: best I have ever had. Absolutely amazing. View is epic, and the restaurant is very nice with valet services and excellent service. I highly recommend Duke's. Enjoy.

They are crazy about the straws. Don t ask for one or the waiter will give you hell about it.

Very expensive for sub par meals. Known for seafood, but not many choices to choose from since Covid hit.

Not too many places to eat that are right on the beach anymore, but this one's been a staple of mine for several years. If you are in the need of some seafood & the ambiance to match, this has both of them covered. Outside seating is a must & is worth the wait. Make reservations ahead of time so the wait is minimal. Good food, excellent waitresses & a decent beer selection. Can't wait until my next visit!

We came here to celebrate the wifey's birthday, we wanted to get a table by the window overlooking the ocean, in order to watch the beautiful sunset and we were able to get it after waiting possibly 30 minutes which was not bad.

The staff is really nice and they were always very attentive and prompt to make last minute changes without any problems.

The food was amazing, we had the Parmesan and panko crusted fish and the seafood hot pot, bot were delicious and normal size portions. For dessert we had the big Ice Cream cake which only lasted a minute or two before it disappeared with the help of two spoons.

Upscale vibe, right on the beach. Great food, some of the best calamari I've ever had. Service is fantastic, very helpful and kind. Ambience is calming, and it's quite nice to look at pictures of the Duke while you're watching the current surfers catch a few waves.

Great location and great food options. The theme is of the great Hawaiian Surf ambassador Duke Kahanamoku. It's mostly a seafood restaurant with some other options as well. Friendly staff and great ambiance.

The food was so good that we came back 2 days later for more. Definitely a pricy meal but worth the money for good drinks and seafood. We had wings, cocktail shrimp, 7 spice ahi (rare), and Ono. Every bite was delicious! Decent selection of gluten free items and I didn't have any problem with cross contamination.

Went there for a business lunch. The food was pretty good. I think I had the Opal fish plate which was perfectly grilled. It was a bit pricey per plate but the view was good and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

This was my first time here the food was amazing, atmosphere was great. The only thing is how the waitress treated us when she thought we didnt leave a tip, she told my cousin who just got back from the military, That gratuity isn't included in the bill but you don't have to give me anything anyways and gave back the bill roughly in his hand. We left a $50 in tip on the table that she didnt notice, I just think it was really rude of her to assume we didnt tip and act that way towards people now I dont think she deserved it.

As a big fan of the Duke's in Waikiki I had to visit this one in Huntington Beach. The feel was kind of the same and had a great location right on the beach. The menu seemed a little limited but was lunch time so may have a different menu for dinner. Ordered a Mai Tai and came in the Tiki glass as always and ordered the Pulled Pork burger with sweet potato fries, very delicious. Staff were attentive and friendly, would recommend.
