King crab legs were delicious and steamed perfectly, very sweet. The pineapple martini was amazing, so I ordered a second. Ordered the prime rib medium rare and it was more done than medium. The pineapple upside down cake looks great, but it was very dry. They took it off the check without issue. This restaurant is very, very loud and we struggled to hear each other. It finally thinned out about 8:30 and was much better.

2019- What a great dinner from the shrimp cocktail to the Mahi Mahi with pomegranate seeds to the fabulous ending of Hula pie! Can't wait to go back to try the calamari, crab cakes and pineapple upside down cake with caramel rum sauce!!
June 21, 2020 - Sunday brunch was delicious! The Eggs Benedict with potatoes and peppers was very good and we enjoyed the yummy sweetness of the papaya fruit bowl with pineapple, berries and shredded coconut with our mimosa! Great service too!

Great food, service and location. The BBQ Sweet Ribs are the best! If you go on a Sunday, BEWARE they only do a $30 buffet in the main dining room. I made this mistake and since I really wanted the ribs (not the buffet), I gave up my reservation in the main dining room and ate in the bar where you can order from the regular menu. They were very understanding and helpful in getting me seated in the busy bar area.

My husband & I went to Sunday Brunch at Dukes for our wedding anniversary.
The view was awesome & the staff friendly & service was very good. The food? Not so much. The choices were limited and the only items above par were the fried rice & ice cream cake. The cake was huge & comped for our anniversary. That was nice.
It s sad that the food was not that great for such a nice place. Would I go back? Probably not.

Good.

Location: Obviously you can t beat it. Almost every spot in this place has a great view of the pier and ocean. Max score for this one.

Food: The food was good. I m not typically a slaw fan. But theirs was delicious. Price wise it s reasonable but you are paying for a view so I have no complaint there. Overall the food was good.

Service: from what I saw there were only 2 servers working. Now we were there mid day during the week so that might have been why. But even with only 2 servers they took care of everyone. Our server was attentive and nice.

Overall: Great spot for tourists and locals (like ourselves) alike. We will be back.

Had reservations, arrived early, seated us right away. Got a table at the windows looking at Pacific and HB Pier. Our waitress, Asiah was awesome, a lot of fun. Food was very good, split a wedge salad. Hubby had filet mignon, I had panko crusted halibut. Both were delicious. Only drawback was there was one pesky fly that kept hanging around, but hey, we're at the ocean, so who cares.

I love this place. Food is good.

The amount of food is more then worth what yu pay.
Wish they stayed open later.

Great location! Okay service. Good food & drinks (battered fish tacos were great, as were the fries). Hard to get a table for a group in the bar area, but it was a Saturday afternoon/evening.

Their boneless chicken is the best. Definitely get the soy garlic and just order the sweet and spicy sauce and dip it for some added heat! Customer service is also 100%

hail to the duke! originally opened in hawaii for the surfers to enjoy an after-practice drink, duke's malibu offers excellent views of the ocean and its waves, and sometimes its surfers. sunday brunch was crowded, in a loud environment where chatter and laugthers fill the background. oh, there is food, too, which includes various tasty burgers, hawaiian specialties, lots of seafood, or you can also try the buffet.

Had an engagement dinner here with my family and my fiance's family. Great service, delicious food, and not too crowded. I had the filet mignon with the coconut shrimp, which was mouth-watering! The sweet corn was also supppeerrr good.

If you're a wealthy retired Huntington Beach resident who enjoys paying ridiculous prices for tiny portions this is the place for you. Very uppity. Don't trust the reviews....not a good place. Walk across the street to Fred's. Much better food and atmosphere. Wanted to try something different.....very disappointed.

Wife and I decided to give this place a try while vacationing in Newport beach. We were driving through the Huntington beach area on Pacific coast highway, and saw the restaurant in front of the HB pier.

We waited for about 20 mins to sit in the main restaurant, instead of the bar. Place seemed busy - lot of waiters/waitresses running around. It didn't feel dark, but it could have been brighter, like the bar area. When we got our booth seats and menus, first thing I noticed was the list of dishes seemed rather limited.

I ordered the 1/2 lb Angus cheeseburger that came with arugula, pickled red onions, brioche bun, white cheddar, tomato, aioli, and fries. My wife, the seafood Hot Pot, served w/ jasmine rice.

The dishes came out looking good with nice presentation - Fries were fresh and hot. The main burger patty was cooked as ordered -medium. It wasn't overly dry, but unfortunately lacked flavor and was just kind of dull. Have had better burger experiences at In & Out burger and Five Guys, tbh. For the price ($16.50), would have expected at least a special sauce or something more bold and juicy. Looking back, some spicy mayo or mustard would have helped.

Wife felt similarly about the seafood Hot Pot -The base was a Thai coconut milk curry, but w/o much spice. There was fair variety in the type of seafood, and portion size was medium - Included were one small lobster tail, one shrimp, 4 small mussels, and a small piece of white fish. I tried the curry sauce myself - it wasn't bad -coconut milk is savory and rich by nature, but again, the preparation could have used some spice, a little more salt, and umami flavor. The rice was well cooked. This dish has good potential, but needs improvement. For the price ($30), it have been a bit better, compared to other Thai restaurants.

Service was friendly and courteous, but not special in any way. Our waitress came by once during the meal, but I did have to ask for refills on our drinks.

Overall:
- Food quality & taste 3.5 of 5,
- Presentation 4 of 5,
- Portion size 3.5 of 5,
- Service 3.5 of 5,
- Atmosphere 3 of 5,
- Overall Price to Performance 3.5 of 5

Total mean score 3.5 out of 5. A decidedly ordinary experience.
Background/Reference point: Many restaurant experiences, & cooking at home.
