Came for breakfast with a reservation. Delicious duck and waffle and duck Benedict. I don t understand why they don t give you a full waffle, it would only cost incrementally more to put some more batter in the waffle machine and would More

Not nice at all. Saw the cocktail list, 12 pounds for a cocktail average asked for Manhattan asked for house rye, was charged 3 pounds on the top. I work in this industry too, and never charged for house unless it's a premium spirit. We wanted to have something to bite, were not allowed to get inside unless we had a main course. The restaurant was 30% full Tuesday afternoon as you can imagine. Please train your staff how to do up selling the right way. Good luck!
I went for brunch a little while ago with my best friend and we were both so disappointed. My avocado dish had cold toast, the bread we ordered arrived after our meals and was so hard and stale I was concerned about our teeth. My avocado was also brown and bruised.
The views are nice provided you snag a window seat but these are views you can get at the Sky Gardens for free when you book a ticket in advance (you're likely to get a ticket to the sky garden quicker than a reservation here).
My expectations were high but the Duck & Waffle didn't even match Pret a Manger level of quality. I wouldn't recommend going here for brunch/breakfast at all.
Went there for a special evening catching up with friends whom I haven t seen in a year as live abroad. Food is tasty, but the service and waiters paying attention to their tables is poor and unprofessional. Will not be going there again!
Ordered the duck and waffle. The duck was really delicious and served in good temperature. However, the waffle felt like it was not freshly made. The egg was rubbery and not hot too.
The staff at the ground floor, bar and cloak service was nice. However, the service by the staff at the restaurant wasn t that great . I first asked one of the staff in black uniform to take my order, he looked at me and rolled his eyes. Second encounter was asking a staff also in black uniform to retrieve my jacket from the cloak room. He gestured me not to ask him but ask another staff who handles it.
First off, this place has one of the best views of the city. The breakfast and service was great! Reservations are a must. You also cannot bring any liquids up to the restaurant.
Very very very disappointed with the restaurant's staff, esp the young ones. Impolite, rude, racial discriminated. It's ashamed ! I wanted to tell the whole world not to go there.
A must go if you visit London! An institution, Duck and Waffles ambiance is welcoming yet electrifying, the service was at no fault as well as the food itself
One thing i do have to say is that the Creme-brulee foie gras was super sweet and was not something i really enjoyed and i love foie gras (but i did order a Creme-brule )
The pictures I have attached are what we ordered which equated to $147.32 AUD plus drinks for 2 people, which was a lot more affordable than i thought it would be.
Classy skyscraper restaurant. A bit overpriced for the quality of the food. The service was friendly. Outstanding view of most London areas as you can obviously see. We made a reservation for my girlfriend s birthday and we asked for a More
Absolutely loved it. The food was incredible. We had all sorts of dishes all were fantastic. the signature Duck and Waffle which was amazing, the foie gras creme brulee which was incredible and the slow cooked beef cheek doughnut which was incredible. We had to send back the carrot cake dessert as it was really dry but ordered an extra plate of the chocolate one which was insane. Service was very good and the view is the best. It is pricey but worth it.
The signature Duck & Waffle is a must try - duck was crispy on the outside and juicy to bite, waffle was fluffy and sat well with the duck, the sunny side up egg and also the syrup it came with. The view of the city is spectacular, service was prompt and attentive (although the same applies when they need you to vacate your table once you're done). Do go early for a drink at the bar before (or after) your reservation to make the best of your experience.
Shocked to find synthetic gloves inside the garlic and rosemary bread. Staff is just so casual and least bothered. Disgusting and unhygienic. Very arrogant and unprofessional staff.
Amazing views - enjoyed the food here and great service. I preferred the other options on the menu, as the duck and waffle itself wasn't my cup of tea. Would recommend
We went here for breakfast on a recent visit to London. I had the Duck and Waffle with the tea pairing which was an unusual but very tasty way to start the day. The views from up here are amazing as is the ride up on in the glass fronted lift, you really do feel the speed of it. If you are looking for a good high view of the city I would highly recommend.
We didn't make a booking when we headed here one morning in hope of breakfast. In the end, we managed a coffee and a great view. Definitely make a booking as it is very popular. Stunning space with one extremely fast elevator that goes all the way up the Heron Tower.
Absolutely love it, the food being fanatics and tasty, the staff being very professional & friendly, the view is remarkable! Watch the sunset with sips in drinks... A wonderful evening indeed!!
Good food, excellent location but the service is not what I expected. Although the restaurant was not full, we had to wait 15/20 minutes before the dishes were cleared. Despite everything, however, a nice place
Amazing cocktails and view; a way better option to see London from above at night than the Shard. A bit pricey and the sushi selection is quite limited though.
Highly recommended Restaurant with amazing food, views are incredible, I think everybody must go at least once, visits have to be booked in advance, not a cheap place.
They dont serve food. They serve art. They male you feel super VIP right from the entry gate upto being served on the 40th floor. PS: Be smartly dressed for the place otherwise it could be intimidating. :}
Good points: the view. Now, the not so good points: the food.
We'd been wanting to try the Duck and Waffle for a while, so naturally this is what we ordered when we arrived for breakfast. The food arrived fairly quickly, and looked delicious, but was lukewarm at best. Thinking I was just some sort of philistine, who doesn't understand the restaurants concept of serving lukewarm duck, I pressed on and despite the temperature it actually tasted quite nice. Anyway, meals were eaten, and we left the restaurant, light of stomach and even lighter of wallet and decided to take a walk along the Thames. And this is when all hell broke loose. My girlfriend turns almost transparent, as I feel an uncomfortable drop in my bowels. "We have to get to a bathroom. Now!" i exclaim, and we make an uncomfortable dash to London Bridge station. Oh holy hell! have you seen how long it takes to get to those new bathrooms there? This was a defcon one situation. I run in to the all too public bathrooms, and every stall was occupied or already obliterated. After what seems like a lifetime, I managed to get into a stall where my anus erupts with all 4 stages of matter - solid, liquid, gas and hot molten plasma. Meanwhile, I later learn, my girlfriend is projectile vomiting so hard the capillaries burst in her face.
We contacted Duck and Waffle about this, and I was holding off leaving a review before I heard their response. Their response was "All of our food is cooked and then reheated" and "There is no evidence that our food caused your food poisoning without you giving us a faecal sample". Well let me tell you, I was glad I didn't still have a faecal sample, because waddling across London Bridge it came pretty damn close. I'm convinced their food caused this. We were in there for breakfast early in the morning, and this was the only food or drink we'd consumed that day.
We also missed our secret cinema reservations (not a good place to go when you're exploding out of both end - unless the movie is the exorcist I guess) which we had for the evening. So all in all, a great birthday treat.
I can't knock this place....buzzy atmosphere, good service, nice bar, welcoming staff. Dinner was excellent and given that it's open 24hrs, I wouldn't mind trying breakfast.....would definitely go back.
This was our first time at Duck & Waffle. What a beautiful view, warm greetings as we arrived and as we were leaving!! We ordered duck and waffle for breakfast. The duck was crispy and egg was cooked beautifully. Please book in advance. Totally worth the wait or early morning journey. Definitely coming back for dinner the next time I'm back in London.
Absolutely stunning views of London s skyline. It s to die for. Love love it. We were lucky to have a window table. First time there on a weekday and a great treat to the 40th floor using the lifts. Staff were warm and friendly. Good social distancing measures. A bit warm though. Food was good. We didn t order the popular duck and waffle but we had a number of sharing platters which was fab. Good selection of wines and cocktails. Very much over priced too. I would say be ready to pay for the views and not necessarily the value of meals and drinks. But it was worth the experience and an absolutely stunning restaurant. Will visit again soon.
Difficult not to enjoy the atmosphere and the amazing views of the East Side of Central London in this restaurant. Accessing the place is a bit of an exercise though, despite the pleasant glass elevator to the 39th floor... We were never told that we had to access the restaurant through the one just below it!
This is a busy venue, even during these troubled times, so you are best booking, and booking far in advance too.
Our dessert experience was decent with the torrejas, which is to be shared. But there is too little, the ice cream was served on it whilst it was steaming hot so it melted too fast and finally the whole dish was really too sweet.
The experience was made much better by the staff who were all pleasant, personable and in a good mood. This added a very positive vibe to our evening. I just personally feel like they want to reach Michelin star restaurant status with the big worded menu, the mannerisms and the prices, but there was no substance to that claim.
Amazing views across London and the 24 hour opening makes for a great novelty. The drinks and food are a little pricy but considering the location it's well worth it. Definitely worth booking if you want to get a table in the restaurant.
It was not a great taste than I thought. It is a bit disappointing to expect that you will come to eat in a good place where you can eat with your family or friends.
To celebrate my daughter's graduation, I treated her to a meal at the Duck & Waffle. The views and food were amazing, however the service was a tad slow.
Excellent location. Superb views. Food selection and how it tastes is above average. Service is before average though (too slow, little attention given, orders given out at different times and incorrect)
In the early hours of Sunday 22 July 2018 a friend and I visited Duck & Waffle, with high hopes for a restaurant in London s Heron Tower which promises to serve punters round the clock day and night.
We got there around 2:00am, giving our names for a table reservation to the desk. The lady told us that there would be an hour wait but that it would probably be less than that. After three visits to the desk it was 3:20am before we were seated, we couldn t understand why there was such along queue of people for this restaurant when there appeared to only be 50% occupancy of the tables. This was only the tip of the impending iceberg.
On taking our seat we quickly placed our orders, both going for DUCK EGG EN COCOTTE, with wild mushrooms, gruyere, truffle and soldiers. The aroma of this dish was horrendous, extremely off putting, the consistency of the dish was rubbery at best, it left a bitter aftertaste and caused immediate bloating. This was served with rosemary fries which were tasteless, dry and extremely disappointing. This was accompanied by pina coladas which had the appearance of duck weed but were honestly the worst drinks of our lives. After attempting a few spoonful s and sips of all of this we sent it all back and ordered a dessert in the hopes that perhaps somehow, just somehow how the dessert would redeem this restaurant in our eyes and taste buds.
Turns out folks you can go wrong with waffles too! We ordered CARAMELISED BANANA WAFFLE to share, waffles were burnt to a cinder, the banana was almost black, and the sauce was non-existent. I can honestly say it has been the worse paid meal of my life and we extremely disappointed with everything. It is more shocking that on sending the items back just as though they had been sent, we were charged for all items on the bill. Only by virtue of the fact it was extremely early in the morning and we wanted to escape this abysmal experience as soon as possible that we did not dispute the bill.
Save yourself the trouble and stay well clear of the venue!
Delicious food but very expensive. The restaurant is lovely, modern and stylish. The service was okay but the menu items are not flexible, for example you can't substitute components like eggs on the house breakfast.
Holy smokes, am I glad we found this place! While visiting friends in the area, we were recommended to eat here one day and I was lucky to snag a reservation. With its own glass elevator taking you to the restaurant, the stunning views set us up for the rest of our experience. Great cocktail bar to relax at if you're waiting for your table to be ready. We were lucky to be seated on the perimeter of the dining area, which consists of floor-to-ceiling windows and a great view of the city. Everything we ordered was amazing. Get the broccoli rabe (not pictured because I ate it so fast) and the foie gras creme brulee.
Great views, not a bad food, relaxed vibe. My husband really loved this place due to fantastic cocktails, and i can assure you guys, if my husband like it, you will like it too!
Food Excellent, service was good. We normally go for their signature dish the duck and waffle. The views are exceptional and atmosphere perfect for any occasion.
Booked online 2 months in advance. The view is really nice, however we did not get a table by the window. We arrived 15 minutes early and our table was not ready until 20 minutes later. We were told to sit at the bar to wait however there were no seats available so we stood in front of some reserved seats. We ordered a lemonade and lemon lime bitters and they gave us 2 lemonades - one with lemon and the other with lime. Our waitress never returned to ask how our meal was going and I could not be bothered flagging her attention to fix my drink. We ordered the smoked eel, pig ear and duck & waffle. The food arrived in dribs and drabs - eel arrived first, then the pig ear, then duck, then the drinks about 15 minutes later. I expected the drinks to arrive first and then the food altogether. They automatically reward themselves with a 12.5% service charge on your bill regardless of the service provided. The duck was really well prepared - juicy and tender and the flavour combination was delicious. I didn't really enjoy the eel because it had a sour taste but the pig ear was really well done. Presentation of food was excellent. Shame the service was so terrible. I probably will not be returning.
Great view, food was ok but the service was terrible. I can t believe I paid a 13.5% service charge, I was just so desperate to get out after trying to flag down anyone to let us out
Definitely order the eponym of the restaurant Duck & Waffle. Super combination of conferred duck leg and sweet waffle. Great attentive service and probably the best view in London
Amazing. Everything about the experience for my five friends and me was amazing. From the secure entrance, to the AMAZING lift, to the excellent (and beautiful) bar, to the fantastic food and fabulous service. And the view ... ahhh, the view!
The wait for a table took over an hour. I had to keep going up to one off the staff to remind them that we were still waiting to be seated. The only good thing about waiting is the bar area which has a nice atmosphere. Staff at the bar were More
I would definitely recommend to go to Duck and Waffles when you are in London. The restaurant is located on the 40th floor and offers a great view over all of London. The prices are fair for a restaurant like this and the food is very tasty and some dishes are interesting combinations (like duck and waffles). Only minus points: it's pretty loud from everyone talking and I would expect a greet from the kitchen like some bread before the main meal in a restaurant like this.
Nice view.. like the name suggest they specializes in Ducks and Waffles.. Other than that probably I would say its the view of skyline London that is special for this place. And yes they enforce dress code quite strictly.
