The views are astounding, watched the sun set at the top. Went at peak time and it wasn't too over crowded, all the staff were friendly and very good at their jobs. Definitely get it on the New York pass.

Landmark place in Manhattan. Very crowded like almost everything in Manhattan but nice views, went to the Lego store and they have a replica of some of the buildings around made in Lego.

Really cool to see this famous spot in person. You see it in movies and on tv all the time. Christmas season gets very crowded. I was the right before Christmas and your practically rubbing shoulders with people. Just a little patience though and you can get some great pictures and experience a wonderful time. NYC is amazing all the time but its magical at Christmas.

Absolutely stunning! This was our first family Christmas vacation in NYC and this place was so magical. It was jammed packed with people so couldn't get near to it. But it still look stunning. This is the most beautiful Christmas tree I have ever seen. Highly recommend if you are in NYC during Christmas.

This is like the best place I've ever been in, and I'm so happy I choose autumn to go. It was so magical, the Christmas three was already set, so beautiful, imposing, even though the lights weren't on yet. I enjoyed every second in and around the Rockefeller Center, was a dream came true, while thinking about the movie "Home alone" haha. I basically recommend everyone to go in Christmas, the rain and the spirit makes everything better.

Rockefeller Center is a large complex consisting of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres (89,000 m2) between 48th Street and 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The 14 original Art Deco buildings, commissioned by the Rockefeller family, span the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue, split by a large sunken square and a private street called Rockefeller Plaza. Later additions include 75 Rockefeller Plaza across 51st Street at the north end of Rockefeller Plaza, and four International Style buildings located on the west side of Sixth Avenue.

By the 1940s, most critics had positive views of Rockefeller Center. Even Mumford praised the complex, lamenting in 1947 that the new headquarters of the United Nations on First Avenue had no "human scale" or "transition from the intimate to the monumental", whereas Rockefeller Center's buildings "produce an aesthetic effect out of all proportion to their size". Haskell wrote in 1966 that Rockefeller Center's designers "seemed to have regarded urban life as an enhanceable romance". In 1969, the art historian Vincent Scully wrote, "Rockefeller Center is one of the few surviving public spaces that look as if they were designed and used by people who knew what stable wealth was and were not ashamed to enjoy it." The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation commissioned a report in 1974 entitled "Grand Central Terminal and Rockefeller Center: A Historic-Critical Estimate of Their Significance", in which they concluded that Rockefeller Center, along with Central Park and Grand Central Terminal, were the only three developments that could slow down Manhattan's "remorseless process of expansion and decay". In 1976, New York Times architectural critic Paul Goldberger wrote, "What makes Rockefeller Center work is that it is at once a formal Beaux Arts influenced complex of dignified towers and a lively, utterly contemporary amalgam of shops, plazas and street life. It is as natural a home for a 1970's street festival as for a 1930's movie about cafe society: few designs can join such disparate worlds so comfortably."

Expensive and great to take pictures. Just too expensive to even ice skate.. the 4 star is for the views and pictures and for the environment.. the prices to ice skate $35 for kids and $57 for adults.... Stand in line for 2 hrs and have 1 hr 15 on ice. The center is pretty cool Christmas lights around..

Have been to Rockefeller at various points throughout the year, but Christmas-time was awesome. Pro-tips: (1) go there later at night when the crowds have thinned out a touch, (2) go to the pop-up wine bar in front of Del Frisco's (good win, relaxing view, warm igloos), and (3) get in line to have professional photos done for crowd-free shots (Nate was an awesome, personable photographer and the team there was lovely). Enjoy!

Nothing like the tree at Christmas! Even on a rainy cold evening it was packed but that is part of the excitement. Make sure you go all the way around. Each side has it's own perspective and things to marvel at.

Just one of those places you have to experience if you visit. Went during the holidays and definitely glad we stopped by the area. Weekdays during the day are the best with the fewest crowds during this time the week prior to Christmas. Easily accessible by subway and walking. Close proximity to other attractions such as Times Square and Central Park.

A great place to visit, even better if you know where they're hiding all the bathrooms! Yes, they do have them, they're not easy to find, but they are there! of course, don't forget the rest of the shops underneath along the concourse and the top of the rock attraction as well. Of course there's also NBC studios tour which is always a great thing to do as well.

Iconic spot for tourists but way too crowded when the tree is up. Also, ice skating is expensive and is in the smallest ocean skating rink. It was almost $100! Save your money and go to Bryant Park for ice skating...its free! You just have to rent the ice skates. Or bring your own & a lock.

This is a great spot to visit when you're in NYC for the first time. The architecture of this historical landmark will leave you amazed. It's always crowded because this place is a tourist trap. It gets even more crowded during the holiday season. It's best to take your own time and explore the area. Make sure to visit their observation deck called Top of the rock. At 70 floors, the views are breathtaking! I enjoyed my visit to this place.

We visited Rockefeller Center in October of 2018 and enjoyed the sights. So many boutique stores, including Kate Spade, Tiffanys, and a huge Lego store! Odd fact about the area - you have to carry your trash out. After 9/11, they removed all trash cans from the site. Lots of police there to watch, since it's a popular tourist attraction, so definitely felt safe letting my teens wander around together without me. Really enjoyed it - I've been there many times, but it was a first to see it with my family.

Cool place to hang out in the evening. A lot of people all the time. Sometimes there are crazy people screaming some random stuff but this is New York this is its charm. If you wanna go inside of Top of the rock just know there is going to be a line so you can book your tickets online you may even save a couple of $

Wonderful place to visit with your family whilst in NYC. The view from the Top of The Rock is gorgeous. Plenty of photo opportunities. I also really enjoyed the architecture tour of Rockefeller Center. It s way better than Empire state building which is really overcrowded. However, I would recommend to visit One World Trade Center along with Rockefeller Center for a full experience NYC skyscrapers.e

You must visit Rockefeller Center during the holidays. It's super touristy, but worth it. Lots of people, but the decorations and views are amazing. I just loved seeing the Christmas tree and all the beautiful decor. A must if you're visiting NYC in the winter!

Great view over the city. We went up the Rockefeller Center very early in the morning, on a Tuesday. As we got there before anybody else, we didn't have to queue at all and we were pretty much the only visitors there. If you go up to the very top floor you can get a good picture of the people on the lower floor with the Empire State building in the background.
When we got there, the weather was still alright, but a little cloudy. However, it changed within half an hour and the clouds completely covered the view. So make sure to check the weather before you go up (which is pretty obvious, but I'm mentioning this to write a longer review).

I highly recommend going to Top of The Rock. It was one of the highlights of my trip to New York City. The best time to visit is probably at sunset so you can take a look at the beautiful city both in daylight and after the dark when city lights start to sparkle. However tickets to visit during sunset cost more.

So fun to go to the Top of the Rock! Expensive but worth it. It was raining when we went so the employees told us we could change our tickets if it didn t stop by the time we were going up. The rain and clouds cleared up though so we got a great view.

My husband suggests this over the Empire State Building since the Rock isn t much to look at, but you get a great view of the Empire State from it.

There s slots between the glass wall on the overlooks so it s easy to take clear pictures, just don t drop your phone!!

Really loved the worry and thought put into all the structure and the walls. Top of the rock was way better than the view at Empire, since you can also take some decent pictures and there were Cindy chairs to sit in.
