Nice little city street plopped into an otherwise desolate mountainous farm laden landscape. "Hip" restaurants and multiple college students would normally be annoying, but everything's different in a pandemic
really it is a bunch of small businesses that have trouble staying open after normal business hours. Many of them close by 4 or 5 o'clock.
Fun and fabulous shops, unique restaurants, on many weekends festivals. Theater and movies also. Enjoy!
Wonderful place to shop, eat, and see all the people and events. Comparable to Burlington, VT and Charlottesville, VA downtown walking malls in safety and spector.
The wife and I just love hanging out in Ithaca fun bars and a lot of great be sure to check it out

Nice area. Nice people. Not dog friendly. Came for Apple Fest. Got turned around because I had my dog. Never coming back to this nice college town area.
The redesign of the commons is absolutely awful and locals hate it

Nice artsy gift shops but plenty of empty storefronts and not many restaurants right on the Commons proper... Beautifully laid out walking space...hope the revitalization continues...

The apple festival was very nice, but I only took a few pictures. There was so much to see and do. I would neve be able to do justice to the event
It's changed a lot over the years. Feels very sterile now. There are better places to go in Ithaca.
Tradition of poor design, artistic and aesthetic choices. Too many closed storefronts due to predatory landlords and lack of protection and incentive to businesses. But hey, at least it GOT a facelift.
Free museum, shops all around with food vendors outside and inside a hall. Washroom for public, cheap parking building close by and friendly people. Recommended.
Nice streets in the middle of Ithaca to walk around in the summer.

Beautiful downtown area. Live music and performances going on most of the time. So many great choices for food/cuisine. Excellent place to just hangout and relax. The atmosphere and ambience is superb with students and other people all having a fun time. Love to go there whenever we are in the area.

All very well, and good, but I think that the "alliance" should be more inclusive. Say, beyond a block of the Commons, i.e. Kitchen Theatre, Mimi's Attic, Uncle Joe's, South Side Community Center, Ithaca Coffee, etc. Make Ithaca as great as it should be! Not just The Commons.
Where commerce goes to collage. Nice shops and artwork. Predictably pricey and challenging parking. Nice people!

Busy place, can find most everything you need, many places to eat. Very busy on weekends, hotel rooms expensive due to college. Enjoyed visiting there
Easy to find uncrowded places to eat with high end food and for parents to get away from college crowds
Has a bit of everything.... pizza, phone/computer repair shop, sheep skin shop, ect...
You can't come to Ithaca and not spend time on the Commons... the very heart of the area
The Ithaca Commons is a very unique place to shop. The ice carving Festival that went on this weekend it is amazing and a lot of fun.
Nothing special. Just another money grabber. Just TRY to find a rest room here.
Nice area, small Unique gift shops. Worth stopping while in Ithaca. Most business are closed after 6pm
There are so many great restaurants down here, you could spend a day trying a dish at each. I also love trader K's and the American craft store, there is always something neat there. There is usually someone playing music or something, nice atmosphere.
Very busy as 125th Cornell University Anniversary and parent's weekend, but we still found a lovely Asian/Thai restaurant. Many shops and restaurants. A must see. Ithaca is an historic district.
A cool place to check out if you're in town. You haven't experienced Ithaca if you bypass the commons. A little bit of everything.
I love this place. More formally known as the Ithaca Commons. So many places to Eat, shop, or just hang out. So many people go there from the ICSD kids to People off from work.
A place for every need and destination. The heart of the city.
It's pretty. It's spacious. No cars, so that's plus. But there are many empty shops unfortunately.
Simeons oysters are so fresh, plump, and delicious! Chicken parmigiana was equally good as the accompanying pasta was tossed in a light garlic/oil/ cheese instead of red sauce. Good balance and very tasty. Definitely will return.

Beautiful spot for an afternoon stroll or a romantic walk with a lover. Fun shopping options and a great example of a community taking the effort to make life enjoyable for it's citizens
