On September 21st we arrived at the Doubletree resort Paradise Valley to check in and celebrate our 34th anniversary and have a "quiet" overnight stay.
We were disappointed on how we were greeted by the front desk gentleman. He did not welcome us in any way, smile etc. I did not feel very welcome and his personality/attitude was not pleasant. This is my third stay at this hotel and I have never experienced this kind of service.
My husband checked in and I will not get into too much detail on the young desk staff who did not make us feel comfortable but focus on the rest of our stay and how very upsetting it was from the beginning. We purchased the Bed & Breakfast package (which did not state it was only good for a buffet). The desk staff at check in did not give us our vouchers because he was not listening tour comments informing him of our package. He only told us to go to the dining room for breakfast.
We were then given keys to 1st room, which was a nice room away from noise and quiet- but when we opened the door it smelled of cigarette smoke. We understand it is not the fault of the hotel that guest do not follow appropriate rules, but it is the job of housekeeping to inform front desk or housekeeping supervisor of the room problem. We called front desk immediately and they offered to just spray air freshener in room, which was not acceptable. They informed me that they had no second floor rooms and they were all full.( This was not true since I was told by the bar staff at pool there was only 30% occupancy that day)
Our 2nd room was then switched to lower level , which was not pleasing But we were tired from a long drive and decided to go with it since the front desk said they had no other rooms available. When we arrived in the 2nd room there was noise coming from filter of vent, but we decided to drop our bags and enjoy the pool. Not checking the room totally, ( which was a mistake). I will get back to this soon. The condition of pool area was disappointing. Chair arm rest broken, dirt in pool, broken tiles in pool. It was as if the hotel is not really interested in keeping it up.
( Note 2nd room had stains on bathroom wall and baseboards in bathroom were moldy. Stains on carpet and that does not include the screen back door trim falling apart and the loud party going young adults next to us)
We came back to our room after being at the pool, the noise got worse, but we changed and went to dinner. Upon return at 9:30, the noise became louder and my husband checked it and thought it was the filter in vent which had an amazingly HUGE amount of dust. It may have been compressor of unit that made so much noise. We could not sleep since the noise on vent worsened. So I called front desk after 10PM to tell them and she suggested she send up maintenance crew, but by the time they fixed it, it would have been too late so I told her no and find me a room in close proximity to current room so I don't have to go too far. We went to our new room 3 doors down...which was much better and finally fell asleep after midnight.
Next morning we went to breakfast and we were actually going to order from menu, but did not and it was a good thing since the waiter gave us check and I told him I had paid B&B package and he said I needed a voucher. I had to get up from breakfast and leave restaurant, go to front desk, get voucher. My final exit ( thank goodness since I could not stay ANOTHER minute here in this hotel) I went to check out. The clerk never asked how my stay was or smiled either. It must be a prerequisite to NOT smile to get this job. I had to tell her that I was not happy and had to change rooms 3 times. Her response( straight faced) was So sorry, would you like to PAY using card on file!
I will never stay here again! By the way, in all the confusion , we left our swimsuits in bathroom. When I got a call after arriving home. Hotel asked me how I wanted to "pay" for them to send it to me!!! Are you kidding me after that kind of stay!

Recently stayed here on a business trip and thought it was a great hotel. It feels like a classy resort and the rooms seemed to be newly remodeled and very spacious. The hotel bar was great for relaxing and watching Sunday night football, the hotel staff was pleasant and the room rates great for Scottsdale.

nice option in Paradise valley if the other resorts are not available. took a gamble and it was good, though would not stay again. very conference oriented. the rooms were unexpectedly quite nice. beds were good and rooms large. good linens and towels. ambience of the resort is a bit sterile. lunch, dinner or bar option is not appealing so need to go out. 2 pools were well appointed and comfortable. tennis court was sad and surrounded by rooms. no bike rentals available. very clean facility throughout the resort. all service was attentive, friendly and eager to please. A+ for hospitality and their chocolate chip cookies.

I was pleasantly surprised over how nice this resort was. I found out it originally was a Loews many years ago. I ended up booking one of the larger suites here and the front desk attendant Michael was a huge asset to this property throughout my 3 day stay. First I will say the amenities were amazing it was the first week of the cov19 stay order so I think the day I checked out was the first day it started. So the gym and pools were opened but the restaurants and food was closed. That being said the property is in the middle of everything so takeout options were unlimited. Also they have a jacuzzi 2 actually 1 indoor and another outside in one of the pools. They also have tennis courts and basket ball courts. The whole property was beautifully manicured and during checkout the manager Maria was also gracious and efficient. Overall I would highly recommend this property. I will definitely be back in the future.

The resort has two different pools, several options for eating, a large workout facility, tennis court, and a basketball court. The options available to guests make it easy for the guest to fell relaxed and at ease.

Parking was crowded and poorly structured, to the point where I had to walk around the entire hotel to enter. I had no cell reception in the ballroom, yet it looked beautifully decorated in the lobby.

This was absolutely the worst hotel stay I've had in 36 years of staying in hotels rooms. Black ants crawling on the bed! We were moved to different rooms that had hairs and fibers in the beds. After 4 roon changes, we finally found one that was properly cleaned. Let the filthy rug in the entry way of the hotel lobby be reason enough to turn around and run. Please don't stay here, I don't want anyone else to have a horrible & frustrating experience like my family.

The staff was wonderful but for the price there wasn't a microwave in the room and when they brought one to the room it was dirty. Their computer is ridiculously slow and it automatically disconnects you after 20 minutes. The free shuttle service is a huge plus and the rooms overall were nice.

Our four-day stay at the Courtyard Scottsdale Salt River was fabulous from beginning to end! Kristy at the front desk was extremely helpful and personable! The shuttle providing transportation in a 3-mile radius was a welcome feature. The room was spacious, beautiful and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The ice-cold orange water served daily using fresh, ripe Arizona oranges was a very nice touch! We will definitely visit here again!

There is definitely nothing special about this place given the surrounding hotel options, but the staff was quite attentive and the facilities are well kept. It is a very large hotel, so if you're there on business try to get a room as close to the main lobby as possible. This prevents a 5-7 minute walk through the heat each time you have to get back to your room. One downside is there is nothing in immediate walking distance, if you want to venture out on foot at night.

Elizabeth made our experience the best, so friendly and accommodating. The bar was very busy and she was by herself, she didn t receive much help but handled it so well! Hopefully the company recognizes her value!

This place was wonderful. The only thing I would have changed to make better was how long we stayed. The room we booked was exactly the room we stayed in. Spacious and clean. Beautiful spaces outside to sit and relax. Lots and lots of greenery and beautiful flowers to make you feel like you re the only one there. Well done.

We went here for a night after our wedding, and to say that the room and environment were less than well maintained would be an understatement. When I checked the day of the wedding a patron, and his lady friend were hollering obscenities from their patio on the first floor. There was a heavy smell of marijuana most of the day, which rendered most of the outdoor space unfavorable. We observed used socks stuffed into a doorway and left there. There was leftover soap in the shower drain after their supposed COVID-19 cleaning stamp of approval, and there were leftover roaches, aka smoked blunt backends on the 2nd-floor balcony. The grounds also had lots of trash randomly scattered. We had wanted to stay later and had booked to check out at 2, but left early due to these issues. Being a Hilton member, there is no way I could recommend staying here to anyone with so many other options in Arizona. Especially for over 150 dollars. I am not a fan of leaving bad reviews, but this hotel needs to step up their game.

It was pretty nice, my room was very neat and clean. I loved how the maid organized all of my things for me and kept my bathroom refreshed and stacked up with towels. The staff were nice, and the pool area was nice even though food was a bit too pricey for me. The shuttle guys helped me tremendously, even though they didn't open till 10. One of the drivers graciously took me to my morning meetings at 8 am, just to be nice. Would definitely stay there again. Did kind of wish there were more TV options though.

First night we checked in. Drove to the room. It s apartment style. Turned on heater at 11:30 at night. By 12:30 the room was 60 degrees. Called the front office and they told me they will send the technician to turn on the heat. Really ? It s almost new year and the heater has to be turned on ? She told me the technician is out doing the same to several other rooms and we are going to be dealt with as soon as he is done. At after 1 am he comes in w a ladder and goes up in the attic to turn on the valves. It took two hours for the room to feel warm enough. We woke up the next day and ever since 9 am there has been no electricity. I called them there is no generator either. It s 12:30 pm and no electricity. All the stuff in the fridge we bought is still in the fridge. No coffee to be made. The pictures and the website presentation are cunning and not a true representation of the place. It s old and has an old smell to it. Let s see what the next 6 days will be

It would have behooved you to tell us you would have got a better tip just from being honest Went for a party on the property. Very clean and spacious. The lobby front desk was very friendly, the problem I did have was the bar at the party was selling the same bottle water that was in the lobby for free for 5$ a bottle, wonder were that 500% markup was applied. Glad we noticed after the first bottle. Ps Mr bartender it would have behooves you to be honest, you would have gotten better tips

I'm currently staying at the hotel and when I walked up the door was actually open. I called to have it fixed and went out for dinner. When I came back, the door wouldn't open. Someone came up to fix it, I guess it just needed oil. This morning when I left the door handle locked but the door would still open if you pushed it. I called the "careline" to have them fix it and went to my meeting. I called during my break and the lady was sooooo unhelpful. She said the engineer said the door was locked but never said that it was "fixed". She just got flustered and kept repeating that the door was "locked" but the issue was that the door wouldn't stay close. So my door is outdoors and ANYONE can walk up to and let themselves in and wear my clothes and the "Careline" could care less. This is my first of many business trips to Scottsdale and I will NEVER stay at this place again and will tell everyone in my company not to patron this hotel either.

Once you walk into the building you immediately feel like you're in a resort. They even have a car rental office. I was very surprised by the convenience this particular location offered. I would recommend this place.

Beautiful grounds. Quiet, large rooms. Pools get crowded. More chairs taken by people not using the pool as a pool (just a place to lounge) which is unfortunate but still a great place.

I did not receive any service or acknowledgement upon my arrival into the hotel. However, the waitress for my table was quite patient with my friends and was quite humorous. This made my visit a positive experience.

Beautiful property - 22 acres of land, it's a huge property so be prepared to walk! When I checked-in they said they didn't have the room I had reserved. The service is amazing Jackie is amazing - only had an issue with one server who took 15 minutes to get our coffee. It's beautiful though, lovely for a romantic weekend.
