A very nice stay. Staff went out of their way to be nice.

Was there for a convention. Hotel dealt with it better than other places I've been. No problems of note.

About the only cons:

We are not a fans of memory foam mattresses... Wish they had other options.

I highly recommend going for the "larger" balcony rooms (we did). I saw some folks' smaller rooms, even for one night it'd be worth it.

This hotel made me feel like I was royalty! Why you might ask? Antoripa who is one of their front desk staff, welcomed us with warm efficiency and went out of her way to insure that we would be happy. Besides showing interest in our travels, she offered us bottled water and warm chocolate chip cookies. After a long day of travelling I felt treasured and well taken care of. The room decor was lovely and quiet!

Our breakfast buffet the following morning was generous, delicious and offered a nicely balanced variety! I loved staying there and hope to return in the future. Located across the street from Lloyd Center and transit lines, guests have convenient access to Portland and its amenities.

The hotel management should know that Antoripa is an amazing asset to their hotel...it was our lucky day being served by such an outstanding employee!!

The room was alright, but the service was sub par and I had someone knock on my door a couple times while I was there to see if I was still there when my reservation was an additional night. Which was obnoxious.

I stayed here about a year ago and they made huge mistakes with my bill, which was a pain to resolve. As a way to make up for it they offered me a gift certificate for 2 complimentary nights, which was nice. My stay this time was better but I still would not recommend this hotel as there are much nicer options in Portland. The hotel is very well connected to the airport and public transport in general, a huge plus, however check in is always crowded and you have to stand in line for forever, waiting for the elevator for several minutes is also pretty common here. When I asked for my room to be serviced during a certain time window the employee was rude about it. The rooms in general are dated, the carpet is definitely dirty and has seen better days. Right in front of my window (and I stayed on the 14th floor, which even is the Hilton Honors floor), was a loud air conditioning unit, which was bothersome at night. The couch is uncomfortable to sit on, the TV is rather small. The area is ok with a shopping mall right across the street, however there are not many nice restaurants close by. On the upside, the hotel pool is quite nice, and they offer a decent breakfast, WiFi quality is also good.

I've stayed at this hotel many times and always had a great experience. The location is great! The max runs right outside and can get you downtown or to the airport fast and nearly free.

Hotel was nice and the rooms were large and clean. Cost of the room is very expensive for not having any amenities like breakfast or parking. Person who checked us in wasn't very helpful, only gave one room key for 4 people and didn't tell us how to get to our room. They did give us a complimentary breakfast after we asked.

Hotel seems to be clean but the reception staff was rude and cheeky. No appreciation for travelers arriving late, they claimed are too busy (there were only 3 customers for 3 clerks... if this is busy then these employees need better training and perhaps to be rotated in some other really busy hotels...).

Good hotel, a bit outdated but cozy rooms, great service and good food make up for it. I liked the location as well. The tram has a stop right in front of the hotel, and there's a mall at walking distance. Theres great restaurants at driving distance and some wallgreens and supermarkets are a bit further. Still the hotel was a solid 4 out of 5.

This hotel was so wonderful to the Headbangers con this November 2018. So accommodating and friendly to the guest and celebrity guests and panels. I truly believe this hotel cares about the success of your events and shows and I couldnt have asked for a better time or better staff to work along side this weekend. Although I didn't go in any rooms or stay the night I was so pleased that I think next time I will just stay and rent a room, just to get a full experience and not have to drive home just for the night. So grateful to be apart of this event and will reccomend this hotel to many more people.

where to begin. I travel much of the year and I prefer Hilton properties when possible. This hotel is awful. From the rude staff to the just ok rooms to the terrible food. Upon check in the front desk clerk showed more interest in the cookie she was working on. What should have taken 5 min to do took 25 min for check in. Being Gold or Diamond meant nothing. No customer service, elevators are slow if they even work, rooms are small and my toilet didn't work.

I was greatly disappointed with my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton. When I initially made the reservation, I was quoted $369.49 for a 3 night stay, which I thought was reasonable. Once I checked in, they started tacking on fee after fee and then I suddenly owed $526.98, which is significantly higher than the original quote that I received. I understand with the current global pandemic happening, that some amenities had to be cut out, but to charge me this new exorbitant rate after I agreed to a significantly smaller rate, is outrageous. The rooms don't have a microwave or a refrigerator, so you have to eat most of your meals via delivery or through their room service. Their website claims they offer gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options, this was a lie. I also am going to question how clean their spaces actually are because after I arrived to the room and unpacked all of my stuff, I decided to utilize the balcony. When I got out on the balcony, there were cigarette butts everywhere and ash all over the ground. They only provided 2 pillows for the queen sized bed and they were quite thin. They only provided 1 bar of soap for the bathroom despite you typically needing 2 bars, one for the sink and one for the shower. It seems like the hotel was cutting a lot of corners, despite charging normal rates to stay here. You can get way more out of a similarly priced hotel in other parts of Portland. This hotel will not be receiving my money in the future.

Wonderful experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, patient and accommodating to our 1000+ person convention of wild folk. This is both a five-star review for casual hotel guests, but also for those seeking a space for a convention!!

Nice hotel. It's starting to show signs of aging. Could probably stand some renovations. However, location is amazing, and staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying there again.

Room condition was bad. Lights in the bathroom were almost falling off. Bed had a metal part sticking out whucw cut my ankle. Ahowers were small for tall people. Coffee maker was bad and coffee was mediocre. Wasn't very clean. Parking lot was dirty, elevators had carpet which looked like it wasn't cleaned in centuries. Very bad for the price.

The bar is solid. Cocktails are around $10, so standard bar prices. The bartender was really good. He was fast and friendly and knowledgeable. The meeting spaces are fairly standard hotel spaces. The room we were in, though, has a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling windows with nice greenery outside. The lobby was connected open-plan to the bar. It was a bit low on seating but otherwise nice.

The servers were amazing, and the portions were fantastic. However, while the portions were good, the food wasn't quite right. The salmon fish and chips we're over fried, so they were dry and too crunchy, the Tex plate was tasty, but messy and a bit too spicy, even for me.

This hotel is great for hosting a professional meeting or social event. I was there for a real estate investor meeting. This is a 3+ hour meeting and I was perfectly comfortable throughout the entire event.

Held our annual banquet here for 120 people. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. The food was great. I would suggest the beef. It was quite good. It was somewhat distracting that there was a children's Irish dancing meeting at the same hotel. I imagine that it is unlikely that on your stay you would be in the same situation. I guess I could have drastically under estimated the popularity of childrens Irish dancing. You get the general idea... great staff... great food... great venue... possible exposure to more children's Irish dancing that you ever knew existed. I tried to make a River Dance joke but no one laughed. I feel old, but I watched so many commercials for River Dance as a child. Oh man... the 90s... am I right? It was a simpler time. I mean I grew up in the suburbs which is plenty pollyanna I guess. But man, in the 90s, in a growing suburban area, our main weekend activity was playing in home construction sites... and no one thought it was weird or dangerous. Well that's not fair, Kyle's mom (and no that is not a South Park reference - his name was Kyle) was a bit of a safety freak. He never got to play in the half built houses. He also had to wear this weird bit of heart armour to play little league. I guess if you get hit just right by a baseball it can hurt your heart. Well long story short, our families all bought these things. I think the average kid wore their's for 1.5 games. Kyle, Kyle had to wear his for the whole season. Ya know, I think the world is a lot safe than it was in the 90s, but it seems like everyone is way more worried. That's a bummer. I guess if I had to choose I would tolerate more children's Irish dancing if people would worry less. That's why I'm giving the Double Tree 5 of 5 stars. Also they have warm chocolate chip cookies at the desk. Those thing get 11 out of 5 stars.

There was no way we could have stayed here when my wife went in to check us in. She found out that it was $689.00 for are two days. But the manager came out to talk to us, because I'm handicapped and in a wheelchair.
He was very nice, we told him are side and we said we just can't afford to pay that amount. Then I'd said it was going to be my 60th birthday on Saturday. He said he would comp the one day. Because we were going to dive back home. And come back in the morning.
So we looked at each other and thanked him. So are stay with the Double Tree Hotel, by the Hilton Hotel. Was the best thing ever.
Sincerely yours, ROGER and Pat Norman

I went for a conference. I was greeted at the door and helped by a friendly employee who walked with me to show me where to go. The conference room had pretty thin walls though, and my meeting was punctuated by cheering from another event next door.

Next time I go to Portland for the first weekend of October, I'll be staying there over the Red Lion. It was a much nicer hotel for less than half the price of Red Lion. It was also more convenient to getting around in downtown.

The stay started off with a warm cookie and only got better from there. We had the nicest room I have ever stayed in, a beautiful mountain view overlooking the hotel's pull. Walking distance from everything we needed, only took one car ride the whole trip. Amazing place to stay, will stay here every time from now on.
