The Ambiance at the DoubleTree is quite beautiful. The bar and grill is nice. A great place to come and have drinks with friends. The pool area is really lovely. And you have to love (or hate if you on a diet) all the free warm chocolate chip cookies. The rooms were a little smaller than I thought they would be though.
Had our wedding reception here was not satisfied with the service here. Had several problems including the room we booked not being available because of renovations after we had already booked it. I figured they would be very accommodating after this mix up but they were not. Seemed to be an issue every step of the way.

The surroundings and wild, lush gardens were incredible. --In the midst of absolutely every experience, and overlooks San Francisco from the surrounding bodies of water its in the midst of and hugged by... Any drive towards the central city area is no more than 4-5 minutes away, and is far away and isolated enough to preserve it's own sense of quiet, calm essence.
Excellent location. The facilities are pretty dated though. Everyone was nice and the food we bought in the coffee shop was good though
I attended a conference in the conference building which was not easy to find. The room, especially the chairs were incredibly comfortable. The restaurant was good.

We stayed here 4 years ago and had a memorable trip. We came back for a wedding and decided to stay here again and in the 10 minutes it took us to check in and get our baby in the room the back window on our brother in laws car was smashed in and our luggage stolen. We didn t pay the $30 for parking as we were just getting baby food (which was all stolen) and after we unpacked we were giving the car back. So we were on the street right on the street in front of the hotel. After talking to a bunch people apparently this whole area is a mess. The police don t even come to file a report because this is a common occurrence. Definitely don t leave anything in your car even for 10 minutes if you opt to come.
Very quiet hotel but very long walk to rooms. Too many buildings and you have to go outside between buildings and card in to the next. Great coffee shop and really friendly staff!

Clean hotel. Right by the water and good view available if booked in advanced. Bottled water and green apples are plenty available during day hours but disappears in the evening hours. Clean rooms and helpful staff.
Wanted ro perform roomservice hours after our arrival. Did not come back the next 2 days. No complementary breakfast. Meals in cafe very high prices.
Worst then motel 6!!!! We stayed at this place for a week and we hand horrible experiences, didn t expect it from a Hilton Brand and this hotel changed my expectations of Hilton. First of all, this hotel is very old and carpet smells like mold, stains on the curtains , dirty couch, Breakfast buffet has same items every day, nothing is in walkable distance and area is not safe! I won t be returning to this place.

Situated at the Berkeley Marina, this pet-friendly hotel is surrounded by water and parks. There are trails to walk on and the hotel provides amenities as well so guests aren't bored. There's dining and music. Pool and sauna and hot tub are available as well. Really enjoyed my stay here. Close by to everything.

Service was excellent, really impressed by the staff at reception. We were given vouchers for complimentary breakfast because I was a member, which saved us a chunk of money. Our stay here was due to our airline cancelling our flight, so it was a lovely place to relax for 24 hours before heading back to the airport. We had an excellent meal in the evening, accompanied by a good beer and glass of wine. The leisure facilities are decent, large indoor pool with sauna and jacuzzi. The layout of the hotel is a bit odd, as you have to go in and out of buildings to walk to and from reception / bar / pool, but that s a minor thing. Beds were very comfortable and the view of the marina is great to enjoy over breakfast.

Great place! Fair pricing considering the area, which are mostly tourists and service employees. Really good views of the Bay and bridges, short Uber hop to San Francisco, we paid $29 and it took 15 minutes. Good safe area to walk around and enjoy the views. Skates restaurant next door, great places to eat all over the place. Valet parking and regular parking not a challenge. Easy on and off hwy 80.
Front desk was not welcoming at all. I asked for a different room due to size and not cleaned she informed all rooms are the same size although I stated I will pay for upgrade which I seen a larger room online she still refused. As a member I usually get my water bottle and cookies, I did not get that but watched another person get it as I checked out an unhappy customer. I work at the mass vaccination site down the street and would have expected some support for essential workers. I left and went to Hilton Garden Inn and was treated much better welcomed, accommodated and more than I expected. Will not recommend this double tree and will recommend Hilton Garden Inn.
The buildings are spread out and awkwardly inaccessible.
Location is nice, next to a trail with view. WiFi is pretty fast. Pool is good for family, 5ft deep warm water with plenty of towels. Breakfast is of good selection. Well maintained property with friendly staff.
Valet staff was nice. Attended my work christmas larty here. Hornblower staff were nice. Check in was busy. And asked hotel staff where the garden was and the worker looked at me like i was crazy.

The valet worker was cool but we were checked into a room where someone else was staying and were mislead about being able to get a rollaway bed. We ended up leaving after quite an ordeal with the front desk workers.
Great location on the Bay, but I have to say, the area is absolutely filthy. So much garbage on the way to the hotel. Homeless encampments just minutes away. It's a shame. Room was clean but Hotel needs a remodel as it is looking dated. They do text a few times to make sure you are enjoying your stay which gives you the opportunity to respond.

Room was clean, building could use some updating. Staff was pleasant. But I was very upset when I found an extra $22 (now $26) a day for parking drawn from my credit card account after the fact. When you pay that much to stay in a room, you don't expect to pay to park to stay there! Should have made this more obvious...maybe when I checked in??? I didn't care for California anyway, won't be back.
First room was a very small unappealing room. That particular building needs lots of renovation work. The door was stuck shut as you needed to slam your shoulder into it to actually get in. They presented me with a more upscale room that was very roomy and appealing. The buffet was delicious as the fresh omelets made breakfast ooutstanding.
The room itself was comfortable, and the staff was friendly at check-in. But it's downhill from there. The hotel was nowhere near full, yet I got stuck in a room on the ground floor with a parking lot facing patio. For the safety concerned this would be a nightmare of a room. Also, it had a terrible view versus the opposite side facing the courtyard and marina. Also, the room was next to the maids laundry room. All day and night my walls shook with spinning dryers. The parking is paid, and for the price they charge for the rooms I find this to be gouging a bit. I was not impressed, and I doubt I will be returning.
Overall nice atmosphere, the walls are pretty thin so it's not very quiet sometimes and the restaurant is just okay. But the service is good, the room is good size and the view is great. Would recommend.
Went to the Double Tree for a professional event. The business center is OK, but a walk from the main lobby. Also getting the parking gates to work was an issue.
The amenities are great, clean fancy rooms, quiet, and the staff are courteous.
Nice enough... But disappointing considering the remoteness and access to public transit.
This could be a fantastic hotel in an unbeatable location, but they fall short on so many "little things", that it really adds up. The rooms have been renovated, although they apparently cut a lot of corners. For example, the sliding door to the balcony seems to be mounted backwards and has no supplemental lock. Many of the electric outlets are old and filthy-looking. The ice machines may or may not work. Do not get accept a room on the north side of Building 4, since they seem to have rented part of the parking lot to a trucking business. This creates lots of loud noises in the early-morning hours. The front-desk staff is hit-or-miss. Sometimes they're super-efficient, other times they fall flat. For example, it took a half hour to check in, because they couldn't find two rooms close to one another for our family (i.e., like we had booked). Once they eventually found two relatively close, they tried to jack our rate up 50%. A competent manager could really make this a gem, but guests need to keep their expectations low for now.
This is NOT a review of the hotel, but just of the service I received from Bruce Carlton, General Mgr, when I called about an issue I had with a gift card I purchased for the hotel. I basically want to say that Mr. Carlton treated my issue with concern and he immediately resolved the situation in a professional and, what I believe was an appropriate manner. Kudos for Mr. Carlton for his excellent service! No long periods to wait for a resolution or unreasonable requirements before he made a decision. That's the type of customer service I expect when I pay my hard-earned money for something. I'm always one to make complaints when service is poor, but it's just as important to let others know when service was great. I'll report again once I use my gift card to stay at the hotel.
This place has lots of potential for an older property and I can tell they are investing in getting it set, but it was disappointing to get there and spend 2 nights right when they are making the improvements. A couple of doors and windows covered up in the common areas because they are working on painting. Early morning I hear voices from the crew getting the cherry picker setup for the paint job. Lots of chatter to place the boards this machine will roll on to avoid killing the grass as they maneuver the rig to the right spot. It's not that it ruined our stay, but no mention, no apology, just business as usual from the hotel staff was disappointing. This is not an inexpensive place to stay at. This visit was over a month ago, but I figured I'll post this before I forget. If i come back I'll make sure to ask about the construction and try to get a room away from it.
We stayed here for one night because we were visiting friends in the area. We chose a non-smoking room on the first floor and it smelled like cigarettes were smoked in the room before. We had issues with the digital key for entering the lot and entering the building - it was taking several minutes to load so the door could unlock. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you really just need one night to sleep and leave early the next morning like us.
The location was good and rooms were clean. I was mostly disappointed with the service. The bartenders were extremely slow and awful. I called the front desk to extend my stay by one day, work was requiring I leave a day late. The service rep on the phone said it would be no problem, modified my reservation, and said to have a good day. On my original check out day I was automatically checked out and my room key deactivated. When I got to the hotel at 11 at night I could not get it and paniced because they had all of my luggage. It took a trip to the lobby, standing in line 20 minutes for another rep to explain the mixup, and reactive my room.
Great view of the marina. Loved to watch the boats come and go. Beautiful trails to walk with perfect weather.
Beautiful location close to a ferry to the city. If I had to work downtown this is where I'd stay and I'd ride the boat. Good location for working in Richmond
The best thing about this hotel is the service provided by the staff. They are magnificent. So helpful and so considerate. Always friendly faces and smiles at the front desk. In particular, I'd like to commend the excellent service of Kenya and Frank who went out of their respective ways to help us. They are solid gold and deserve to be recognized.
The rooms are a bit dated but the view of the marina is nice and I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and staff friendliness. Unfortunately self parking is $26 so be aware of that. I would certainly stay there again.

The scenery is beautiful, the staff was cordial, but it almost feels like a motel environment that's charged you $20 a night to park. Also, I arrived early, my room wasn't ready... Understandable. But I got to sit there for the next 4 hours while a string of other guests checked in early and got into their rooms. I checked back with them once an hour on my room... Nothing.
Although it is inconvenient as a location, you can appreciate the quiet environment and the goodness of the staff of the hotel. It is recommended to designate the yacht harbor side as the room.

Location is great if your touring the area, otherwise it is not. Hotel is far from food, gas or any shopping whatsoever so make sure to grab anything from the store before heading in. Rooms are mediocre at best. Very tight in terms of space, I'm not a big person and I was constantly banging against objects. Bathroom is very tight and includes a tub/shower which offers one rate of flow from the shower head=firehose. The kind where if you are fair like me, you will be red when done. Service is decent and includes valet service at the front entrance. Parking is not free and requires key access which my key failed so I had to return to the front for a new one. Complete fail. The lobby includes a cafe that offers food at a very high price which somewhat makes up for the fact that there is nothing nearby. The cookie offered with the stay was outstanding but not enough to make up for the all the downsides to the stay overall.
This hotel was lovely. It has a beautiful walking path along the water with views of downtown San Francisco and Berkeley. It is a Doubletree so bed and linens are nice. There is also a pool hot tub and sauna... which was an added bonus.
Get the Hilton Honors program to make your stay worthwhile.
The Front Desk staff bent over backwards to accommodate every request I could throw at them this past weekend, with extreme grace and aplomb. I was not expecting to receive so superior a level of service at what's comparatively priced at an extreme bargain rate. For the price of one night in the city, two business travelers enjoyed three nights of waterfront bliss. The stunningly beautiful Berkeley Marina location, clean rooms, super comfortable bedding on even more comfortable Sealy mattresses will have you hard pressed to not want to forget about the business at hand and just RELAX!
