Attended at UCSD event at this hotel. The hotel looked clean and the staff was nice. However, the Wi-Fi here was horrible. For a place set up for meetings, its Wi-Fi was soooooo slow. Most of the time I couldn't even connect.

Checked in and was warned my room would be near the elevator and that might be loud, so I was offered a different room. I said ok, but when entered that room it smelled like someone had been smoking. Not the hotels fault, but when I called they sent a guy with a spray bottle who sprayed a couple of sprays and that was it. The TV was also on, with no remote in the room, I asked the spray guy to help me look and we couldn't find the remote or even just turn the TV off in the meantime. He said engineering would come by with a remote, so I waited for that, a while later someone came with the remote and I was able to turn the TV off, then we noticed the front door lock and entire mechanism was loose and not properly mounted in the door, so they went to gather materials and tools to repair that. This was in the evening so I mostly just wanted to shower and go to bed for work the next day. Not a good way to start a hotel stay, I feel like I was transferred to a room that wasn't ready.

I loved it their. The rooms were very nice and it was right on the docks.

Good stay. Great amenities, and they even give you fresh backed cookies on registration.

2.5 stars is more accurate. Check-in went smooth and the complimentary cookies were great. The room was spacious and the bed slept comfortably and the pillows were super soft and the view was great.

The bathroom was super small, no microwave or refrigerator, balcony furniture was dirty, mold around the balcony area and the heater didn t work.

Received a text around 10:46pm asking how our stay was and I think that was quite odd to text me at that time of night considering we checked in at about 4:30-5:00pm.

Text back the next morning and made them aware of the issues we had with the room and was told they will make management aware of it and that was it.

Considering the price and that this was the Hilton I definitely expected more and felt like I was at Motel 6. And the $21 plus tax for parking is absurd.

The new order sitting area and bar are much nicer now

You can smoke on the balcony, but there are skunks in the parking lot

Addition to a previous review. Hotel is dirty. Hallways and wall are filthy. I will never stay here again.

Excellent option on your trip to Berkley. Near the Marina. Food and unique view of San Francisco

I could hear the neighbors through the walls. We had to keep our TV on to go to sleep, otherwise, we were privy to our neighbor's partying. When I asked for another room, they said they were booked and couldn't do anything about it.

I will give this place 2 stars. Staff was friendly and our room was ready for check in even though we arrived 2 hours before the posted check in time. We stayed in building 3 and the halls smelled like a skunk had taken up residence in one of the rooms and the smell was still there the following day. The room was clean but fairly small when compared to other Double Tree locations and you had to step outside of the hotel just to get 1 or 2 bars of phone reception.
The restaurant located on the premises (The Boathouse) was TERRIBLE!!! The employees seemed overwhelmed with taking our to go order, especially since there was a group of 5 or 6 people at another table. My wife ordered a fried chicken sandwich and I stuck with the cheeseburger. The chicken looked like it had been fried and re-fried several times (I AM NOT JOKING!) and tasted like licorice. The meat on the burger had a slight rotten taste beneath all the salt.
My wife and I were sadly disappointed and will not stay at this location again. Pretty much the only highlight were the chocolate chip cookies.

Room wasn't cleaned/prepared for our stay. Two guests. No coffee. Used bathrobe hanging in the bathroom. Used soap and shampoos in the shower. Half the lights weren't working. Was charged for parking when told as guests we were able to park for free. Employees while helpful were apathetic and seemed bothered to provide the adequate customer service.

Wife and I stayed here several weeks ago. We use the complex as a staging ground for OCSC sailing and charters. its right on the marina and vert convenient. Nice pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. Rooms are well appointed and clean. The restaurant has great food. we didn't purchase the room+breakfast but the food looked great and we wish we had. Staying there this weekend with our children and will purchase the breakfast option this time.

It was pretty good and I liked the fact that Chromecast was supported on our TV. One complaint I do have is that I could smell cigarette smoke even though we were on a non-smoking floor.

Breakfast was delicious (Bao! Quiche! Waffles! Continental stuff!), right next to park with dog park for those who like dogs. Internet slightly troublesome to set up. Service was excellent, location was pretty good, though road from peninsula needs repair..

Great place to stay. The staff was great. Large clean room where everything worked. Room service and house keeping all did a wonderful job. Very nice!

Very nice accommodation but the road in is so bad the speed limit is 15. Should have bought a 4WD.

I have stayed on softer beds at Best Western. no extra roll of TP in room. i expected more of a Hilton

The hotel rooms could use a good refresh. The lobby area has been remodeled slightly. The staff is top notch which is what keeps me coming back to this hotel. The indoor lap pool and going out swimming in the bay.

Great location! Running trail on the marina was the perfect way to start the day. Bar/grill was good. Staff was excellent!!

Being greeted with a free cookie for every guest and a smile is always great! The room was adequate for a night's stay. On our next visit, we'll more than likely stay here. The only knock is the pillows aren't sturdy and the charge for parking.

The place is pretty neat.

We missed our flight and had to stay in the lobby for hours and the members there were courteous and very carrying of us. They tried to help our group as much as they could even though we were creating a raucous. The manager was extremely helpful and gave us a great discount after we missed our hotel.

Old, room smelled horrible, not all standard minimum toiletries provided, not very clean, thermostat didn't go its job... All for a very expensive room! Staff was nice though

As a Diamond member, this has been my worst stay at a Hilton. They were nice and helpful when I checked in, even gave me extra cookies.
I ordered breakfast to be delivered to me by 6:30 because I knew I wouldnt have time to eat until 2:00PM. Breakfast never arrived. When I called to ask about it at 7:00, they were barely going around picking up the cards from the room. SO i had nothing but an apple until 2:30. Had I known that was going to happen I would have gotten up earlier to go get breakfast.
The second night I stayed there they didn't even clean the room. I didn't care too much, but I was out of shampoo. I requested more, but after waiting 30min i just went down to the front desk to get it myself.
Also, every time I called the help deak, they always sounded rude and as if they really didnt want me bothering them. I will never stay here again.

This hotel has greatly improved over the last couple of years. Beautiful location.

Park for free, right outside the gates, across the street. IDK why they nickel and dime you for parking, when the nightly rate often is 200 dollars more expensive than nearby, lesser quality hotels... $200 a night more... why $20 extra to park? If you stay in building 3 or 4 (where I was)... it's a looooooong walk from restaurant or front desk. Hilton lounge has amazing, free, trail mix :)

The staff has consistently taken great care of me. On a recent trip they really went the extra mile to take care of a problem. The combination of location and service make this my goto place when I'm staying in the Oakland area

Hotel is a bit rundown and is not in the best location. Be sure to get a ride to berkeley, don't attempt to walk. Also the hotel is currently undergoing some renovations. Maybe in the future it will be better.

Nice and quiet get away from the inner City but the bathroom was very small and outdated and the ceilings were too low also the fixtures in the bathroom were Rusty. They also charge me $33 to park in the parking lot thumbs down

Quiet and comfortable, reasonable price and convenient transportation

I had booked two rooms for 4 nights for June 20 - 24, 2015. My husband and I stayed in one room and our adult son in the other. - We all had such a pleasant stay! We had stayed here before so we knew how absolutely wonderful the location is. Every morning we took long walks by the bay, and had lovely buffet breakfast in the dining room with gorgeous view. The Front Desk staff was delightful and checking in was easy. It's also very convenient to drive to S.F. from the Marina.
As it happens, after checking out and already on our next location the next day, our son remembers leaving one of his shirts in his room. A quick call to "the lost and found" a lovely lady, Christine Nash from Housekeeping, located the shirt and mailed it to our son's home address. I wanted to thank her once again, and also rest of the hotel staff for the wonderful stay and hopefully we'll be back next time we are in the bay area.

Beautiful location, in a somewhat remote area. However, it's a straight shot to the University. The waterfront is beautiful, but we opted for a cheaper, smaller room without a good view.

Love this elegantly designed hotel right on the marina. Every experience I've had there has been world class. I always feel as if I'm on a cruise vacation when staying here as the layout has been tailored with the marina and water in mind. Just walking through the hotel is a pleasure with it's open airy and relaxing feel. All of the staff have been so amazing making everyone feel welcome as if this is your home. The breakfast are really yummy and I definitely recommend waiting to get a seat with a view. The rooms are some what dated. Hopefully they will upgrade a bit.

Walls are thin. Light and sound coming in from the hall all night. TV of the next room over.

Rooms are ok . my opionon the maintance crew needs work becsuse there was a few issues i pointed out and my wife addressed them when we checked out

Conveniently located just west of downtown Berkeley. and just minutes from the freeway. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Been there 3 times now and never a complaint.

They charge $30 a night to park in their parking lot (it was free previously) when you can park for free across the street.

They now charge for overnight parking which they did not do recently. I specifically asked if fitness pool was open for kids over the 4th of July weekend and was told yes. It turns out the pool is closed altogether for remodeling.
