Double Tree by Hilton Berkeley Marina Review

The hotel is located at the berkeley marina. It is a city hotel with an atmosphere of a countryside hotel. Nice and comfy room, very good facilities and beautiful view. Very quiet. We liked the excersize pool as we love to swim.

Fair hotel. Friendly staff. Not the cleanest. Good location to go on a charter.

Had dinner at the grille. It was a nice bar and dining area with a great view of the bay! The drinks were good, as was the service. The food was just so-so for me. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

I love this hotel, great rooms, wheel chair accessible there is a grill in the hotel with a bar.fantastic for good walks.
Indoor swimming pool and hot tub. There is a small store in the lobby but it is expensive, also the hotel charges for parking ( unbelievable). Great place for special events.

We were staying in for the Golden Globe choir festival with our young childrens choir who is entering this competition the first time. You have made our stay relaxed and less stressed while undergoing extreme tight competition with these kids. We have won a third placer despite against high caliber international choirs. This hotel is located on the marina. The rooms were normal sized, but finding your room can be confusing because there are multiple buildings. Parking is ~$16 (plus tax) but you can park on the street for free. The service was great (except for them not bring me a cork screw when I requested one).

Save your time and money and go to the holiday inn express. 300 bucks gets you a room with a view of a dumpster and next to the utility closet. Blinds won't close and the bright patio lights make sure to keep your pillow illuminated. Honestly Motel 6 is a better Choice.

Very dated. I had no wifi reception and no cell reception. Road leading to hotel lined with homeless encampment and very bumpy, filled with pot holes. One good thing about this place is the room is very spacious.

Although it's a bit out of the way it's in a very beautiful location. The view really just blew me away... you can see SF's silhouette fromance a distance. The hotel itself felt very high class, it was very clean and the employees there were very nice and helpful. Great place to go for some quiet downtime

Customer service made the difference. We had a power outage and the team at the hotel took care of everyone.

I confirmed a date change and instead they canceled my reservation...which I didn't find out about until I after I arrived at the hotel. Excellent reminder of why I switched to Marriott properties

This is a very sad hotel however it is the most reasonably priced Hilton hotel in all of the San Francisco area. You can also take a commuter ferry for $10 each way across the bay into San Francisco and they have bikes for rent that will get you around the Berkley area, or you can bring the bike for free across the ferry.

Excellent Hotel beautiful view reasonably priced clean I was so surprised. The only bummer is the bumpy road getting in there. Hopefully the hotel will have some influence over the county and get that fixed other than that it's quite lovely quiet and beautiful

If you can afford it its great and the marina is awesome. Things for the entire family. Great to visit on 4th of july and kite day

Disappointed with the rooms and the booking errors and the lack of effort to fix it. Beds were cozy

I was looking for a great hotel with a lap pool and hot tub, which is hard to find in Berkeley. The "hot" tub was no hotter than your average bath water and the pool was cold. I will look for another place with a pool for my next visit. Don't come here for health benefits of the fitness center.

Distinctly separate from downtown Berkeley, but not remote. Close to the water at the Berkeley Marina and next to beautiful state park land.

The room was nice, staff was great, but their beds are so firm it felt as if I was sleeping on the floor

First night was a mess. My rooms toilet wouldn't flush and the shower wouldn't work. Additionally, the toilet paper holder was not securely secured to the wall and I felt like it might fall off with too much pressure. The good thing is when I came back after going to my event during the day, all problems but the toilet paper holder being securely fastened were fixed. At that point I was happy just that I could shower.

Great location but rooms would benefit from renovations. Also, hotel is taking too much advantage of covid restrictions and keeps pool, gym and restaurant closed for breakfast while other hotels loosen up restrictions. Great room cleaning service!

Not a bad place for a conference. Nice location, easy access and parking. Great views.

The location is great! Their key cards weren't very good, two out of the four we had couldn't get us through their parking lot consistently. I also called and asked if they could look for something I left in the room and they never gave me a call back. Overall though, I enjoyed my stay, just wish they had called me back and I wish they could fix their key cards.

This is a super late review lol but me and my wife stayed here on Memorial Day for the first time and I must say that Lesieli accommodated us very well and made our stay that much better!! The views are beautiful, the breakfast was good, our room was pretty quiet, and the bed was super comfortable. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because our shower drain wasn't working properly and I'm not of fan of standing in gallons of water while showering. Other than that everything else was great!

the warm cookies how my God how is such a simple welcoming gesture so effective, it totally set the pace for the evening every staff member I bumped into was so polite and helpful, called the front desk and they were helpful.....such a relaxing comfortable soft amazing bed ....wonderful view of the marina even at floor level ...great experience

An amazing place. Went to Berkeley to meet an old friend and just hang out. But staying in this hotel was a great experience. Love Berkeley. Shattuck and other places have changed so much. Took Caltrain/BART for a change.

Did not get to do the campus walk this trip, though.

The staff is friendly the rooms are average I stay there two or three times a month for business it is conveniently located for the Oakland Berkeley area

Beautiful bar and lobby area, convenient place to grab a few drinks before heading out on the Bay.

It was just one night, but everything was great. Will stay there again.
Just one thing, the road to the marina desperately needs an overhaul.

Beautiful location on the marina with great service. The Internet in the hotel is a little slow. Clean comfortable rooms.

The bed was very, very comfortable, otherwise would give 1 star. The room was in pretty bad shape. The in room thermostat did not power on, so had no control over the room temp.. and heat would have been nice on that cold, windy, rainy night. Much of the bathroom fixtures (especially shower faucet, shower curtain rings, TP roll holder, light switch) were the quality I'd expect at a cheap roach motel. But at least it wasn't too loud, and it smelled okay.

Great setting, decent modern rooms, nice pool area, pretty good breakfast, quiet. Layout isn't great, needing a key to get into the building where your room is seems like a needless and confusing step.

I love the place but their new policy to charge for parking is terrible. I mean $16 dollars is ridiculous. For as long as I can remember, parking was free, like over 30 years. So I don't go as often as I use to because of the parking issue. To avoid this charge they want you to park across the street on a dirt shoulder and there is no crosswalk. Very dangerous. It is not like there is anything in the area were people park on their lot and go somewhere else. It is pure greed, but they are loosing my business. Penney wise, pound foolish.

The rooms were nice and the staff were very helpful. My only problem with the room was that it smelled a bit when we arrived.

My wife and I stayed here for a quick honeymoon getaway to San Francisco.
We absolutely loved this hotel. We loved everything about it.
The location was very convenient, the hotel was beautiful, the restaurant had amazing food and the service was impeccable. We like to give a special thank you to the general manager Stephanie Bauer for making our stay extra special. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Good location. The hotel was clean and the ambiance was good.Front desk attendants were welcoming and did accommodated me very well. The rooms were clean and the sheets were new.

The newly renovated hotel is awesome. The staff is great and the hospitality is superb.

Water views away from the hustle and bustle. Didn't need to go anywhere else the grounds were beautiful the pool was spectacular loved the indoor pool

Nice location on the marina away from town. Hotel is a bit older but pretty clean and well maintained. Marina view rooms look they would be great.

Brought the family here for christmas. Fast internet for streaming movies. Clean rooms, large flatscreen tv. Pool was cleaner than most all in all wonderful time!!

Hotel is decent. If you book on Priceline or similar sites you can get a good deal. It's definitely a haul up to campus / Downtown Berkeley but there is a free shuttle (with limited seats). I've stayed there twice and it was OK.

The bar has gone downhill though. Last time I went in it took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge and serve us (and we were sitting at the bar). Then they were out of the main ingredient for one of their special cocktails. Servers treated us like we were an inconvenience to them. We won't be returning.

Nice hotel right on the water. Unfortunately, the views aren't great and it's probably a little too windy for my taste to host a wedding ceremony outside. The conference rooms were fairly standard appearing without any frills.

The hotel has been updated but it's still dated. The room was nice, if a little small, and the bed was comfortable. Would stay here again.

Lukewarm shower, room not ready check-in time, broken door latch. Not up to the usual Hilton standards.

The staff service is hit or miss. The room was nice but the restroom had a funky wet dog smell. The view of the marina was great.

Unfortunately, they have ruined a perfectly nice hotel. They seem to be converting to a meeting and conference center. Every time I come they are under some renovation which is ugly and inconvenient with no break in price. The lovely bar with a fireplace is gone. The family friendly indoor pool is gone. The restaurant view is surrounded by fencing. The dog friendly rooms are now in an off area. Did not even offer free cookies which costs them about. $0.50. Worst of all, the ample parking at the end of the Marina is now charged at $28. Ridiculous. My bill was $ 40 over what was quoted. Might as well stay in San Francisco. I have been loyal to this hotel for YEARS, but I think I am done.

Gorgeous view from our balcony. Best breakfast buffet I've ever had included with my stay. Close to H.S. Lordship and a great marina park. Free cookie on check in. I wish I could've stayed longer. Will definitely be back!
