I should have read the reviews before I enroll to Dot House. I did like the doctor I met with prior to my last and final appointment there. I will not go back there because I sat waiting to be seen for a scheduled appointment for 45 minutes. Time is precious and the last thing I would ever do is sit and wait for anyone I AM PAYING.

Appointment times that are booked don t matter.

Appointment times that are booked don t matter.
The phone service is nonexistent, you have to walk in to make an appointment.
This a larger clinic but only has around 14 parking spots.
I have been going here ever since I was little but the service is steadily declining.

Bad service at all, the staff is rude and they don't how to talk with patients. The staff works there they don't how to do their jobs especially some people in the registration place and some nurses. NO professionalism at all. I don't how this place hire people do not know how to work in the health field or in the customer service. I don't recommend anybody to go this clinic!!

Dorchester House is not your average clinic, it's a multi-service center which includes everything from medical services to swimming and karate classes. I have been a patient of this facility for the past several years and have experienced it all. There are days when you come in and the center is busy and you're left to wait for what seems like hours on end for your appointment. To make matters worse, I have encountered staff who are unpleasant to deal with. However, I have also experienced days where I did not have to wait to be seen in Urgent Care and received expert advise and support for my needs from staff who couldn't get me to smile more than I already had. The center is far from perfect, but for what it's worth, a center that services the entire community of Dorchester and more, I think it's doing a fine job.

I have been goint to Dorchester House with my daughter for 15 years.
Great service from everyone!!!!! Love the fact that Urgent Care is open 7 days a week. I had to take my daughter two weeks ago on Sunday morning and they were able to see her right away. My daughter LOVES Dorchester House and so do I.

If only there was an option for negative rating stars. This is the worst place ever. You are never seen at your appointment time, prepare for a 2-3 hour wait or sometimes the whole day. I thought it was only the women s department but it seems like all the departments are like that. Do not go here! Save your time!

the dental department needs to get better with phone calls, every time i call them they have kept me on hold for about 30 to 40 minutes. i never get a call back whenever i do decide to leave a message. the reason why i wait that long is to keep record of it on my phone to show as proof that they never answer. this department needs better costumer service when it comes to phone calls.

I don't know what the Dot. House is doing with all the Grant monies it's received in the last few years.I have not seen ANY new social services for the clients that go there for medical services. The food pantry has never improved. The new system to call for appts. is like waiting in traffic. The new system to check in for appts. ,taking a number makes it seem as if your at the Registry Of Motor Vehicles. I've been going there 30 years and every time I read about more grant money received I see new construction even though something was made years prior. Patients are booked 4 at a time with 1 doctor I get a 15. minute physical now instead of 30. minutes and now 10 mins. are wasted because the computer shuts down and my Dr. has to call for help starting it up again! I've been reading the Dorchester Reporter for many years and I see what the Dot. House has gotten and in my opinion and experience nothing has been done to improve patient quality.Removing a snack and drink machine ? I will soon be looking at other clinics Codman Square Clinic sounds more patient friendly caring and puts their grant monies towards the WELLBEING of their patients.

From both my research and experience, DotHealth's COVID pre-testing procedure is unclear, not transparent, and inconvenient. Their website lists the days and times they test and claims that no one will be turned away. However, despite arriving well before their testing period was over and waiting in line for some time, I was turned away and told to come back the next day. Apparently, you have to arrive at certain periods of the day (the beginning of their testing period, for one; other times? unclear) and get a ticket/slip with a time slot saying when you should come back to get tested, making it a two-step process to get tested here, which was not explicit on their website whatsoever. I appreciate DotHealth's work, but I write this review to let other folks know about the process, and to ask DotHealth to make their COVID testing process clearer both on their website and on premises (no signage or representatives besides at the very front of the line). I acknowledge that these are trying times and testing demand is at an all-time high right now, but I also ask DotHealth to note that this process is not accessible to folks who cannot take time off of work multiple times a day, spur-of-the-moment. Also, the fact that you are assigned a random time slot is not accessible either. An easy way to address to this would be allowing for testing appointments to be made on the phone or online. When I went the following day for my testing appointment, it was smooth, fast, clean, and the staff were very friendly.

Normally, I think the DotHOuse is pretty cool and would give it 4 out of 5 stars. minus one for poorly trained customer service people but other than that, a decent clinic.

This review is mainly in regard to one particularly unpleasant person in the eye clinic. I get my glasses at the eye clinic. I find the majority of the people that work there to be pleasant, competent workers. However, the woman in charge acts like it is she who is paying for them and has better things to do with her time. She is very curt and disrespectful to a lot of the customers, and if you are black (she is) or asian, she is particularly rude. I've seen her yelling at nervous old Vietnamese folk who obviously don't speak English well. If a big black woman, while barely looking up, yelled at you in a foreign language, would you know what she meant was, "sit right here and I'll be with you in a moment". No eye contact. No pointing to indicate she was talking about the chair. Ive seen her telling young black men to sit and be quiet (when they are doing nothing wrong). Once when she read my name wrong on the list they ask you to sign in on, she mispronounced my name, by adding in some phantom letters. (I am a trained draftsperson and would challenge anybody to print more clearly than I do) When I corrected her, with utter contempt in her voice, she said, "I read it this way". I said, "well. I read it THIS way because that's the way I spell my name. I just read the letters that are on the page and try not to add any for posterity". Overhearing us, the half dozen people in the waiting room burst into laughter at her actions and my comment. She told me she was "just trying to do her job" and that I had an "attitude problem". I told her, "it's not my job to have a good attitude, it's yours".

She told me that I could only pick out the frames they offered. Cheap, flimsy, and ugly frames. You are NOT allowed to purchase your own frames despite what she told me previously. This policy costs taxpayers more and limits choices for the wearer. But boy does it give her joy to tell you you have no choice.

I once requested a copy of my eyeglasses prescription (to use at a reputable optician) and she told me I would have to get a note from my doctor to release it. Take that in, I need a note from my doctor to get my own personal medical records. That's not a mistake or even misinformation. That is a blatant lie and is actually illegal to deny a patients request for their records.

This woman runs the eye clinic like she's doing us a favor and resents the people that show up for service. I have been going here for years and have never been in the eye clinic without her doing or saying something that made me question her position or her ability to do her job as a customer service representative.

Medical staffs are nice but the receptions at each department are very rude and unprofessional. Once a blue moon, you will get a nice one but the rest is slow and very very unprofessional. If you call to make your appointment, you will be on hold forever and when you thought someone is picking up, you got hung up on. You will need to go there in person and jump through hoops to make an appointment.

Dot House has a way to go in helping to service the community. Their downfall seems to be a lack of constant communication between management and staff, which then transcends to patients. There a few good staff members, who I wish would identify their true worth and work at another healthcare facility where they would be more successful and useful.

I've been going to Dorchester house since I was a child and services have been increasingly declining. I called to make an appointment with my Dr. who has nothing available for the rest of the year and we are in August. I can no longer speak to a nurse in regards to simple questions that does not require an appointment. The staff can be very unprofessional including the doctors who I have witnessed talking and laughing with staff about patient illnesses. I have been very loyal to this place but as of recently the need to find a more patient oriented facility with staff members who are professional and dedicated to the health and well being of their patients is more desperate than ever.

Dental department is the worst! They usually are sitting there running their mouths, but never answer the phone and poor customer service. When you go to register for a regular appt. the employees are too busy talking loud and breaking HIPAA rules to get you registered and off to your appt. in time.

This is only for the dental portion of the clinic. I've never experienced any trouble in the other departments. However the dental registration process is horrible. You should be extremely disgusted in the way you have clients register or schedule appointment. Leaving a message for four weeks straight and no response. Telling someone to call back on Mondays to see what opens up and then not having anything available.... horrible customer service. Shame on you... It took me four weeks to get an appointment, but thank you to the individual that actually took the time out and concern to assist me.

Dental Horrible Customer Service- I was waiting on hold for about 45 min. I never scheduled an appointment because I was on hold. I call the other departments in the hospital at least they answer the phone within minutes and then transfer you right back to the dental line to wait another 45 min on hold. I asked to be transferred to speak to a manager and they transfer me back to dental line.

This is worst place ever! I would give this clinic no stars if I could.Every service this place offers are unprofessional, unorganized, and rude. The staff are very rude when you asked them to repeat themselves; I have very bad hearing instead of repeating nicely they gave out a loud sigh and rudely repeat back to me.Dr. Phi Tran is not very professional he saw me for about 10 minutes after waiting for an hour and half. I ve asked to get a mammogram he said I didn t need one so I didn t get a mammogram this year. The pharmacy department should hire girls who do their job and not there talking to guys. I ve waited for two hours for my medicine after I received a phone call saying my prescription has been refilled. When I got there I have to wait for the medication and they ve gave my mom the wrong prescriptions once. If I didn t read the label on the bottle something might happened to her if she took it. The Asian girl in the financial office is very rude I think her name is An. She yelled at my mom once because my mom forgot her SSN, made my mom left in tears. I am not the only one that complains about her, a number of people have complained about her but come to her because she speaks Vietnamese. They are there to get their health insurance resolved not to be there for her to yelled at, need to be respectful of others. I think because she can speak two languages she think she can treat people like trash. Also she didn t help my mom with her masshealth. My mom had to go Neponset Health Center they resolved her masshealth issue. They are very nice and professional. Neponset is a way better choice they actually care and listen to their patients.

Went there for an eye exam. Was told by the girl (brunette, hair in pony tail, wears glasses), sitting at the glasses desk, that my insurance did not cover for glasses (I have Masshealth) but feel free to still pick some out and theres always payment plans available . I said nevermind then, I will just order it online and went to go sit down. The two of them (another girl with dark hair tied in a bun, white lab coat, also wears glasses) started talking loudly, making sure that I could hear them, to each other saying that they would never order glasses online, like it was beneath them. Saying that they were rude is an understatement. The next day I called Masshealth and asked if I was no longer covered for glasses and they said that I still am. Never going to come back again.

Service at Dorchester House has steadily declined. Have not been able to get an appointment for annual physical in the past 2 years. My daughter was throwing up in the waiting room with flu, and still had to wait over an hour and a half to be seen WITH appointment. Patients are no longer able to contact nurses or doctors. Everything is incredibly impersonal. Sorry to say that my family will be moving on to different medical care facility. Coming from a (soon to be former) patient for the last 38 years

The worst practice. They don t return calls, and they re incredibly rude and impatient on the phone. We waited for WEEKS, calling multiple times a day, for them to simply send an Rx for an epi pen for our daughter- a life or death situation.

I had been a patient at DotHouse Health for over ...

I had been a patient at DotHouse Health for over 28 years. I have met some of the most compassionate doctors and experienced especial care in the past. However, most recently, my experience has been far from that. I am always on hold for at least 20 mins, and then the customer service rep is usually unpleasant and rude. It takes months for me to see my PCP. Then when I do see my PCP, I feel as though I am be rushed out and not heard. And you can forget about getting an appointment with the dentist, its take months to even contact someone for an appointment. After about three years of experiencing this, I decided it was time for me to part ways with DotHouse. It was difficult and upsetting to leave but I knew I was no longer receiving the care that once I had. Unfortunately, the lack of care and compassion by the staff, left me with no option but to leave. I truly hope things change because it saddens me to see an organization like DotHouse Health that is intended for the community, no longer making the effort to properly serve the individuals of the community. Best wish to DotHouse Health, but I would not recommend this establishment.

The wait time for your appointments are ridiculous the wait time on hold is ridiculous makes no sense for a person to wait an hour half to be seen for your appointment but yet if your late 15 minutes you can t be seen this so unexcetable this has been happening for years and still no change. I ve had family members who have changed their health center because of this love the staff but changes need to be done.

Where do i began, I was having an asthma attack and the nurse said I was faking in urgent care the doctor came in and said I was fine I left feeling worse than when I went in, I work for BPS so I set up an eye appointment, it was fine I ordered my glasses that literally slid off my face and broke, took them back to be repaired they refused my insurance after they realized that the glasses weren't 60 day's old, I really like the frames but they refused to put my progressive lenses in, the frames I choose, my insurance covered the expense they flat out refused, pushed the state issued frames in my direction, customer service the call in line to refill prescriptions needs to be replaced with customer service friendly staff, not a great experience for the people who need the services they offer.

Free isn't always good and this is the case with their tax preparation. I was told my return would be x amount...came back was told the same thing and when everything was finalized it was a different number and when I'm at the computer with whoever why do they have to be so loud.. calling out my personal business so loud and I am sitting right infront of you! God damn it...its all personal information...you would think that they have been doing this for years so they should know to speak softly when inquiring about something like my tax. Very unprofessional! And I know it's free but majority of them barely have a clue what they doing. Surely next year I will be paying a professional to do my taxes, can't afford to be playing these guessing games at Dorchester house with those vulgar people.

The NP or Doctor that saw me smelled horrible and knew nothing. I ve had a sinus infection for three weeks and she told me it was viral. Viral infections do not last this long. This was a complete waste of time and money. A proper health care provider would at least have showered in the past few days. Uncaring and rude is how I would describe her attitude. Don t waste your time going here.

Hello! My name is Hien Nguyen. I have been a patient here since I was around five or six years old. My sickness seems not getting better but it is actually worse. I received a call from dot house on Nov. Monday 14th to confirm that I have an appointment on Nov. 16. At 1:45 pm. I did call dot house to resolve this problem. Because as far as I know I don't have or scheduled an appointment that day. The person that scheduled appointment asked me for my date of birth. She checked the system and she said that I am right because I don't have an appointment on Nov. 16 at 1:45 pm. This is scary because Dorchester house sometimes don't call me to confirm my appointment when I am actually have an app. But they call me when I don't have an app. Thank you for reading this. I don't want to start trouble. But this is scary.

The Dorchester House is more than just somewhere to get cured. I've been there since a little kid using everything from the Urgent care to the pool to the gym. The Dot House is more than a medical facility but a symbol of Community in Dorchester. They have great youth coordinators that gets kids off the streets and into the gym or the pool or clubs.

I've been a patient there for a while now and i can tell you that the staff there is not only accommodating but professional. They follow my recovery from urgent care all the way to final prescription treatments.

The Dot House is not only what people of this community need, it's what it deserves.

REALLY REALLY BAD SERVICE here at DotHouse. They scheduled/booked us an appointment, and on the day of the appointment, just minutes prior to the appointment, they called and let us know that the appointment was canceled and needs to re scheduled (due to the mistake on their part) while we were on our way to the appointment. This is VERY VERY IRRESPONSIBLE OF THEM AND NEED TO BE STOPPED. If you show up 15 minutes late, they will turn you away, but if they are late, who's going to turn them away?

Their employees needed to be trained properly.
