Food was good. If you sit outside, prepare for flies and birds. Great customer service. Wide variety of food, with great prices for the portion. September and October were their crab specials. Tried crab stuff deviled eggs. It was gross. No flavor what so ever. The cat fish was excellent. I'd definitely return to try something else. The pickled sauce was good as well.
Staff and atmosphere was pretty nice .... however my food wasn t that great the meat was really dry the coleslaw I order was not good at all the only thing that saved my sandwich was the delicious variety of barbecue they had. Maybe it was an off day and will give it another try ....
If you're looking for delicious comfort food, this is your place! It's a country style menu with seafood options as well. All their meats are smoked up and served fresh daily. Free popcorn is served while you wait on your order and outside seating is available. They offer a variety of different style barbeque sauces to slap on your meat. You wont be disappointed. They have an open bar to get your drink on as well. They are also kid friendly as they have a sandbox outside to keep the kiddos occupied. Give this place a try! You can thank me later.
last min. dinner idea with my man and our keiki. the food was amazing, a bit on the expensive time but worth it. The lanai is a nice place to sit :) Our waitress was OK . The Covid prep was great well spaced out, could be a bit cleaner but i understand how difficult it is to keep up with customers, food and sanitizing.
I want to try this as with my entire family they have a family pack that looks amazing :)

A great restaurant with a southern flare. The food is fantastic and given in real southern proportions. There is a sandbox to keep the kids occupied, or a full bar to keep mum and dad occupied. They have a number of signature burgers each with an individual flare and a few blue plate specials. Where they really shine though is with their smoker. Anything that comes out of that is bound to be good.

Been here a bunch of times. Typically get pulled pork sandwich which is always good. Had the turkey and bacon melt this time with some mac n cheese. Pretty tasty and server was very attentive and polite. Overall, it's a good place for burgers, sandwiches, and bbq.
I go to dixie grill often and one thing is for sure, they are consistent. You get good service, quality food and drinks at a reasonable price. They have happy hour 7 days a week, whats not to love about that.

Being from Alabama, I never expected to find Sweet Tea anywhere on the island. But it's here, and I felt right back at home. Ordered the pulled pork, and it was excellent.

Blah! I went in to the restaurant on 4 July to order takeout. The service was good and the hostesses were polite. When I got home, however, the meat they gave me was just old, especially the brisket. It seemed like they just gave me the meat that had been sitting out all day, which I don't understand seeing that it was the Fourth of July and they seemed to be pretty busy. It wasn't even warm (I live five minutes away). They should have had plenty of fresh meat to serve up. Instead, the brisket had that waxy look around the edges and on the surface that meat gets when it sits out and oxidizes after contact with the air for a few hours. This was probably a two star experience, but I'm giving it one since they just gave me old meat - like some junkyard dog. Zippy's is better!!! Waste of time and money! I will never go here again. And I will tell all my work associates the same.
If you want some classic American bbq, you'd have a hard time finding better options around here

I am from GA and sometimes get very homesick. Dixie Grill is like a little piece of home for me.....from the food, to the music, to the REAL sweet tea! I absolutely love it! It is a must try for anyone that needs a good ol plate of comfort.....you will definitely come back for seconds!

As someone from houston texas this was dann good bbq. I had the austin burger named after myself and it was spot on. The staff was awesome and super fast service. Must go to.

Went here with a big group (8 people) on a Saturday night. It took a few minutes to get seated (of course), so while we waited we got a beer from the bar. The bartender asked each person that would be drinking for their ID, which I am fine with but some people really seamed to not like it. They have a beer special going on in Sept which gave a beer that was decent quality for only $3.5, which is a great way to start off in my book.
After we got seated our waitress was excellent and got everything we ordered too us, drink appetizers and all, very quickly throughout the whole meal and was extremely nice.
We got an appetizer of the pickle chips, which were very good and had a nice spice to them. For the main meal, I got the ball buster which was burger with mac and cheese on it. The burger was very good. The mac and cheese was good without squishing all over your hands as you ate it. The burger was cooked well, but the quality of the beef was nothing special. The buns on the other hand, were terrific. The fries were pretty good, thicker cut, but they weren't all that crispy.
After we ate we went upstairs to the bar/club. When I walked in, I wasn't expecting all that much because there weren't that many people and it was a little dark and boring looking. Then I went to sit down and found some giant Jenga, which I haven't seen since college in Virginia. My friends and I drank and played Jenga for hours. They also had shuffle board and a second giant Jenga.
As for the rest of the bar, after an hour the place really started to pick up. People started to come in and also go out on the dance floor. It is the best bar/club that I have been to during my time in Hawaii. We ended up staying until 1am.
Overall, the bar/club and the service was terrific. The food was pretty good, but certainly not as good as you would get in the south, but to ask that of Hawaii would be a little much.
Great atmosphere. I am just visiting Oahu, I went alone while my bf was working. The waitresses were extremely friendly, and made my experience very enjoyable. I got the butter garlic snow crab, which was delightful. Would recommend for a relaxing night, with friends or family.
Honestly, the most American/patriotic southern style and feeling place and restaurant, in my opinion, on island! Simple and short menu but far from ordinary food. With a southern and rowdy feeling... I only have the one complaint that some of the older dishes are either taken off the menu or changed due to change in management.
This used to be our restaurant of choice, but the last 2 visits have left much to be desired. The menu has changed. The hush puppies now have cheese (gross). The "big bowl" salads are no longer big. The fish in the fish and chips isn't even close to crispy. And our recent server was agonizingly slow.

Never thought I'd be at a country bar in Hawaii, but this place rocks. Everyone comes out dressed for the vibe and makes you feel like you're back home. A cool venue for line dancing, live music, and no frills fun at the bar.
Food is mediocre, service is great. Expect to pay about $20 per person for what you can make at home, easily. That aside, i come here because its a friendly place where everyone is welcomed. 7 stars for service and staff, deducted one for meh food and 2 for prices of said 'meh' food.

I used to visit this place frequently when I lived here years ago. Still pretty good. Service is usually quick and the staff is friendly. The brisket was pretty solid, not dried out at all. They even had a local IPA on the beer list.

This hole in the wall was GREAT!. service was awesome and food was awesome. . I would give it 5 starts but only ate there once. Great place to go to right after pearl harbor museum. Dont buy anything to eat there to expensive.. but this place was great on price and good serving size, besides the side of fries but those had alot of flavor.. my wife and I shared a Cuban sandwich right before the pill box hike. It was perfect amount... we would have to problem eating here again.. ENJOY!

The staff and managers are super friendly and some of there food is awesome. The sweet tea is to die for. But on the other hand one of my last visits here I was craving a cheese burger I ordered one and it was still frozen in the middle. I asked if they came pre-made and was told no so I asked another server and she told me yes and told me they didn t use to come like that and they were so much better. For 9-15 dollars I think the hamburger should be pressed in store. They took it off my bill and apologized for the inconvenience which was appreciated. I did enjoy my service and my sweet tea so I paid for that and tipped my server the price of the frozen patty. I have been back twice since but just to grab a sweet tea to take home.

Love being able to have some bbq while I was stationed out there away from the mainland. Never left there unsatisfied or without left overs. The cornbread casserole is something you need to eat.

The food was awful. The so called southern catfish tasted like okra. The alcoholic beverages were overpriced even during "happy hour" & were not reduced. FALSE ADVERTISING. THIS PLACE IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I would have give them no stars.

One of the few places you can get good southern style food. Good portions even the half baby back ribs is a lot with two sides. Pretty good sweet tea. Drinks are great and lots of apps to choose from.
Southern comfort food in Hawaii is like trying finding a needle in a haystack. Tried this establishment with low expectations and was pleasently surprised how delicsious the food and drinks were. So delicious that I came back twice in the same week. I have tried several menu options including the popcorn grits and have yet to be disappointed! We had the exquisite experience of dining here tonight. We moved to the island a week ago from Tennessee so I was a little skeptical about good southern food in Hawaii. Boy was I wrong! The atmosphere is so fun and sets the tone for a wonderful dining session. They serve complimentary popcorn as you sit and decide what to order. We ordered the frickles (fried pickle spears) and buffalo wings as appetizers and were blown away at how delicious they were! For entrees my husband and I did the pickle brined fried chicken sandwich, my sons ordered Austin burgers, and for our 2 year old we got the pulled pork with corn on the cob. Every single thing was scrumptious. Our server was so sweet and engaging and very good at her job. From start to finish this place was phenomenal. Can t wait to go back.

From the outside it looks like a mistake, I ll be honest, but we walked outta there some very happy well fed mainlanders. If I lived here, this would probably be my haunt.
