Wish I had one of these where I currently live - this studio is cozy, and enjoyable.
I have attended classes at Yahweh yoga for the past year and a half. When I first attended I had no prior experience with yoga. Overtime, this studio has become apart of life for me. You get more than a great workout with the variety of yoga and Zumba classes. You get an experience. Every instructor is wonderful and encouraging. You leave feeling energized and confidant in your abilities. They also offer a wide variety of DVD's and streaming videos if you are unable to visit the studio or travel a lot. I have come to know the owners of the studio, they are authentic and loving women who put time and attention into everyone who participates in their classes. I HIGHLY recommend this studio and their products!
I can't believe that messianic groups are into yoga you need to inquire of God if this is truly of him.
I began with this studio after seeing a groupon and wanting to get back into practicing yoga. I was skeptical at first to be honest because I don t really identify with a religion, but after my first class, I was hooked. I have been practicing for almost five years with numerous instructors and I can confidently say that the instructors here are amazing and the best that I have had! I have tried all of the classes and incorporate them into my daily fitness routine. They do a great job challenging me as well as making the class fun. What is really important to me is that each of them takes the time to get to know the students and remembers who you are when you are there. Other studios are so large and have so many different instructors that they never really meet their students or know their ability or goals. Their main goal is for you to feel good about yourself no matter where you are at in your practice. Once my groupon was done, I didn t hesitate to sign up for an unlimited membership. No matter your religion, or physical ability, I would highly recommend trying out Yahweh Yoga because it has changed my life and I know that it can change yours too.
Yahweh Yoga has been an amazing experience. I came with the attitude of not being sure if I was cut out to be a yoga teacher. I thought I would attend anyway, even if I never teach, just because yoga is my passion. I wanted to learn more about the postures for my own benefit. Day by day my confidence increased, not only in my ability to teach Yoga, but also a deeper, inner confidence to love myself for who I am today, not who I wish I was, or who I hope to be tomorrow. I made friendships with the other women who attended that will most likely last past teacher training. They also taught me a way to eat that has caused me to lose a little weight and feel full of energy. I LOVE YAHWEH YOGA!!! I encourage anyone who is considering this school to do it. You will not be disappointed.
Yahweh Yoga teacher training has been an amazing experience! Courtney and Deanna have showered us with wisdom, encouragement, and kindness. I am leaving this training so excited to start teaching and feel so prepared to start my yoga career path. While in Arizona for two weeks, I have met some of the dearest ladies that I have grown to love and hope to stay lifelong friends. My heart feels so happy and overjoyed to have gone through this training.
It is an amazing place! It is more than Yoga...it is an experience. If you are stressed out and need a place to destress, get peace in your life or get centered - Yahweh Yoga is the place to do this. They offer classes to rest and restore along with other types of Yoga and Zumba. The owners and instructors CARE about every person who walks in their door. I would highly recommend this Yoga studio to all! It is for all levels of Yoga - even if you have never done Yoga - it is a great place to start.
My experience through Yahweh Yoga has been one I will carry with my through the rest of my walk on this earth. It has not only prepared me to teach, but has helped me to become who I am. Courtney and DeAnna are true women of God and it shines through in everything they do. The education was hands down the best you will find anywhere and the fellowship and friendships that I found have touched me to my very soul and will always be a part of me. The beautiful RAW food that we experienced through Chef Angel was amazing and I can honestly say it has given me a new perspective on how I should eat to be my best. If you are looking for a well rounded whole person experience in yoga teacher training centered in Christ you will simply not find a better place. You not only will become a yoga teacher....but you become a yoga teacher in the truest sense, patterned after the best Teacher there ever was. Blessing to you DeAnna, Courtney, Angel, and all your staff. May your ministry always be blessed and may it continue to grow for years to come.
When I arrived at Yahweh Yoga I had absolutely no prior experience of any form of yoga, except knowledge from superstars or self-help authors who claim to do this form of exercise, and it changed their lives. Furthermore, my therapist recommended Bikram Yoga for the stress I was currently partaking in as a newlywed; however, someone else gratefully told me that if I had never practiced yoga in my life, it would be best to start "small." (She specifically said if you decide to become a runner, you wouldn't start with a marathon (Bikram Yoga), but a 5K (Yahweh Yoga). This person recommended Yahweh Yoga. I am so glad I listened! My first class was on a Saturday morning with DeAnna Smothers and the best words out of her mouth for a yoga virgin was, "Remember there is no competition in yoga. Be kind to your body and let it direct you to either do a little or a lot." I needed to hear that because I am normally a very competitive person and I wanted this new practice to last a lifetime. The other life-changing words out of her mouth were, "And breathe. Remember, when you stop breathing you stop practicing yoga." I have a tendency to hold my breath and that's been a problem all my life, but the practice of yoga taught me how to breathe deeply in order to remove the toxins and stress I was holding in. For the first year I practiced yoga on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I started in February 2012 and finally mastered breathing in about June 2012. I knew I had got the breathing right because tears were seeping from my eyes and the poses got much easier. I added Mondays into my schedule. Have you ever heard of the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman? I get three out of the five for myself by going to Yahweh Yoga: (1) Words of Affirmation (my #1) spoken by the instructor (DeAnna, Lindsay, or Stephanie); (2) Quality Time (with myself and God); (3) Physical Touch (my favorites are giving myself a face massage and scratching my head). Another amazing thing about this studio is that the practice is mostly done in a dim room with a wide variety of women who are all shapes and sizes and colors. We are all in there for the same thing: Taking care of our temples. Have you been hurt by religion but really miss going to church for the music and time with God? I highly recommend trying out Yahweh Yoga! I can't tell you how many times a song hit so close to home and was exactly what I needed to hear, or a devotional that spoke to my heart and helped me reach my fullest potential. Finally, it was stated that the practice of yoga would automatically change my diet where I would crave healthier foods. I felt they went too far with saying that because I have given up A LOT in my life (prescription drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc.) and I love food and I wasn't interested in anything messing with that guilty pleasure. I've been practicing yoga for a year and I've also purchased DVD's from the studio so that I can enjoy DeAnna Smothers and Courtney Chalfant in the comforts of my own home. Without even wanting to my diet is changing... My life has become full with blessings that I don't always have the time to get that power nap in and I know my diet is what makes me sleepy. So, I've gone gluten-free and am changing to eating for my blood type. My O+ diet mainly consists of protein. I still enjoy naps, but I don't require them anymore! Finally, I can honestly say that the practice of yoga was the missing link to my mental health which has changed me in all other areas. Please give it a try and don't leave before the miracle happens! I promise you it will and the key is moderation. I need to close so that I can "Stretch, Relax and Restore" via DVD, and Courtney, I am feeling like a queen today.
If you are looking for a professional yoga studio where Christ is honored, Yahweh Yoga is the place! It is where I go to breathe, be still, and let my mind be renewed in truth. At the same time they have supported my continual growth in my yoga practice and my body is much stronger and healthier because of their expertise. I went through their teacher-training program and left equipped with the knowledge, understanding and professional credentials I needed to teach and live a life abounding in health. The studio is run by a mother- daughter team who have hearts of gold, and the community that flourishes within the studio is precious. Check it out; you won't be disappointed!
If you are looking to be trained to teach "Christian Style Yoga" I highly recommend. The Owners, DeAnna Smothers and Courtney Chalfant have created a studio where they have dedicated themselves to Prepare the Hearts of women as well as men who love God and have a high interest in Health and fitness to teach a Christian Style Yoga. I felt the level of instruction from begging to end was excellent. DeAnna and Courtney divide between the themselves the instruction as well as introduce Experts to teach and lead workshops. Naturally my own practice improved but more importantly...
It was my relationship with God which went to a new level in depth and trust... The first time I was able really meditate on Christ Love and listen to my heart where I knew God was dealing with me. I was able to just "Be" ( I was able to rest and be still deep down in my heart and know that God was and is taking care of every concern, prayer, worry along with a deep sense of knowing I am his "beloved" and My God is taking care of me.) This was the most Peaceful experience I have ever felt.
My hope is to take what I gained in Knowledge as well as in my Heart and create an Experience through opening with Scripture and leading a practice with Awesome Christian Music to inspire either a Gentle or an invigorating powerful practice of Stretch, Balance, Strength, and leaving with a sense of Peace in their Heart and Knowing they are Loved by the one who is Love! Jesus Christ,Son of God.
I truly enjoyed my experience at Yahweh Yoga. I went through the teacher training. The classes there were fabulous! I wanted to do Yoga for awhile but at first always thought it was for women and not much of a "workout". But then when I got over those shortcomings I was very turned off by the mysticism of yoga. At Yahweh I learned that not only can yoga be a challenging exercise experience but it can also be focused on Christ. This is a beautiful combination. Now my mind, body, and spirit can be on one accord while I am exercising. I thank you Yahweh Yoga and I would recommend this to anyone.
Not a bad studio for basic yoga classes. My boyfriend and I typically took hot yoga with Stephanie and really enjoyed it, although the room does not get nearly as hot as bikram studios. If you are an actual yogi, or a beginner, I would try to avoid taking classes with Courtney. She trys tp make class 'fun' by racing through the flows resulting in a rushed class with zero emphasis on form.
Going to the Yahweh Yoga Teacher Training has changed my life. In a GREAT way! At Yahweh Yoga, I have experienced healing, encouragement, and clarity of mind. Besides being a great place to ignite personal growth...Yahweh Yoga is fun! Hip-hop Yoga with Courtney and Sugar's Zumba class were so fun I couldn't stop smiling.
My experience with Yahweh yoga has been one of long-distance learning. I am a new graduate of the existing teacher Yahweh Yoga training. Through on-line training, video teaching, and phone call support I have been nurtured and guided by two remarkable, faith-filled women. My Yahweh yoga training has enhanced my Christian yoga teaching and own practice in non-measurable ways. I am forever grateful to DeAnna and Courtney for founding Yahweh Yoga! It is my hope I can come to your studio in the near future. :)
Yahweh Yoga has really deepened my yoga experience by drawing me closer to God. Honestly, this is a great way to worship Him and draw others to His presence by teaching them yoga. I highly recommend Yahweh Yoga to anyone looking to become a teacher for His glory, not theirs. And the food was amazing!!!!
My experience at Yahweh Yoga Teacher Training has been one of the most empowering and meaningful experiences of my life. The yoga instruction and information has left me feeling more prepared than I thought possible, and my practice has grown tremendously. Even more importantly, my spiritual walk has strengthened as well, in ways that I never imagined. I have grown closer to God, have gained a greater sense of self, and have made what I hope to be lifelong friendships. Yahweh Yoga is a studio that truly loves and cares for each one of its students, whether they are there for a once a week Gentle Journey, a sizzling hot yoga, a Zumba class, or the 250 hour teacher training. You simply can't find more knowledgeable, kind, and nurturing instructors than those at Yahweh Yoga.
