This place is super popular amongst the military crowd. The food tastes good and the quality is acceptable, but none of it is worth writing home about. If you want an easy place to get BBQ and southern food, then this place will get the job done.

32oz beers during happy hour!!! It was great food and great drinks. Looks like a great location to watch football. They even have a little sandbox for kids to play in. Waitress www support friendly. We will be back!
I was skeptical of a barbecue place in Hawaii. Honestly I thought no way. I had a couple of appetizers including their barbecue, and it wasn't bad at all. Instead of cooking their BBQ in different ways they cook it one way and give you different sauces to use. I have to admit I was skeptical of this as well, however, it really worked out. They nailed the North Carolina vinegar sauce which is my absolute favorite.
Trash can...geez, felt like they fed us yesterdays food. Pulled pork was almost dehydrated and without taste. The brisket had a lot of smoke smell, but no taste. The six wings were just bleh. The fish seemd like the only fresh thing on the table. Yeah, it was that pathetic. Sorry folks, will never eat here again.
Celebrating Mardi Gras. Come here every year for the gumbo & fried green tomatoes.& Pickle's . I also had the catfish po boy . Hurricanes tasted like I've had on Royal street in NOLA. Food is always delicious.. Excellent service from Kate. My daughter had brisket - & cornbread casserole.
Love this place! It was a long needed little taste of home. The pulled pork was on point and the Bairdi Crabs legs were perfect! Nancy our server was excellent. Definitely coming back.
We have been here MANY times. The food is ALWAYS good with excellent portion size. The fish tacos with Alaskan cod were delicious! The fried okra and peel 'n' eat shrimp are favorites.
We found this place last minute, wanting a bite after visiting Pearl Harbor & before heading to the airport. The food was amazing! We came during happy hour (3-7) and the beer was crazy cheap. My brother even said he wished there was a place like this in his college town. If you're anywhere in the area, you've got to try this place out!
Its a nice place to grab a bite if your into southern cuisine. For some one who enjoyed the comforts of Charleston, South Carolina the grill is a nice reminder of the mainland.
We moved here from Florida, so we miss the southern comfort food. This place does pretty well in re-creating those dishes. I got the country fried steak and could tell it was breaded right before served. The gravy wasn't my favorite, but my wife loved it. Everyone's got a preference on country gravy. But it was oh so nice to have good mac salad again. All the mac salad I have got on th island so far is drowning in mayo. This mac salad was awesome.
The reason it got 5 stars for me though is the sweet tea. That was how sweet tea should be. When you get done with a glass, you should feel regret for how much sugar you ingested, but at the same time you want a bottomless glass because you're sure there are addictive drugs mixed in.
Food was very tasty, service was great my only complaint is the portions on some of the dishes are small and I wish the sides were larger because their collard greens were on point.
It is a very quaint Place. The Price is Right. The staff is personable and pleasant, as is the atmosphere. The calamari was extremely good therefore I tried it for the first time and enjoyed it quite a bit.
Been multiple time never had any complains before until this last weekend. My friend made reservations for a party and it took a while for someone to come take our order. The manager and waiter were both very rude to some of the guest. Instead of waiting to bring the food at all together people got it slowly and it took 45 minutes after almost everyone got their food for the last person to finally get theirs. Also they have tried double charging one of the guest account twice for the payment. After the severs we had this last time we will not ever be going back!
My husband and I went in for lunch. There were customers, but it was not busy. We were seated and waited, and waited, and waited to be acknowledged by the table workers. If they don t want our business, we don t want their food. We left and continue to discourage people we know from going there. There are a lot of better eating establishments nearby to go to.
This was my first ever stop at Dixie Grill a friend of mine said it was a great place to eat. I arrived there around 7pm and there were available parking stalls in the nice sized lot. I was seated within five minutes, the venue was busy at this time on Saturday night. I placed my order within minutes, full rack of pork ribs which was a good size, mashed potatoes and greens. The place was very lively with nice music and happy people. I was also happy because my food was outstanding, the ribs cooked to perfection, the greens were seasoned and cooked well. They provide you with six different bottles of barbecue sauce of various flavors. The rack of ribs was so big I could not finish it all. I need to return to try other menu items because I really like this place. The one thing that stood out the most for me was that the waiters and waitresses were very attentive, I was served by my section's main waitress and 3 others dropped by to ask if I needed anything when she was busy. I liked how well they helped each other out and yet at the same time they did not intrude on my eating pleasure. This level of service was beyond the norm. I bet you can't eat here just once!
We love dixie grill ..the food is great. We luv the atmosphere. They never rush you and they are always attentive coming around making sure all is okay
Service was quite friendly. Food was good. Spicy chicken wing was good. The hot sauce seems to be Tabasco base. Ribs was ok, not fork tender though. I would prefer Tony Roma's ribs. Brisket was quite nice. Had 6 different types of sauces, range from sweet to tangy to somewhat spicy.
Man, and I thought you couldn't get any decent southern food here in Hawaii. Not only is that incorrect, but you can actually get GOOD southern food here! Sweet tea forever, the meats are tasty, and they serve free popcorn before your meal, which my daughter loves. And the BBQ sauce is great! I like the Memphis style.
Back about 7 yrs was The place The hospitality has truly changed I wouldn't recommend it if ure looking for a Gr8 treatment from your host or hostesses
This place is alright but definitely not southern bbq. The taste is bland unless you out a ton of bbq sauce on it. The manager was nice and took off our sons food since he didn't eat any of the food. With the food was better.
The food is great here! Unfortunately, they tried to charge us for our meal a second time, 10 months AFTER we ate there. I assume it was in hopes that we wouldn't notice a small charge on our account. If you eat here, pay cash.
Felt like back home on the mainland. I balked at a few prices but then the food came... and I shut up! Great portions of some very good food. Great vibe. My new top spot.
I had lunch here a few times and fish and po boys are super. The staff is friendly and the prices are decent. The place is clean, easy to access and parking also. Come here and enjoy some good grind.
I m an Arkansan mountain man from the Ozarks Mt Kessler. I lived on Smokehouse Drive and Hootowl Lane. Home of the Ozark Smokehouse and the Sharp family. Visited by Davy Crockett and home of Jim Bowie. But as good as that BBQ was Dixie Grill reminds me of home. Lived here since 2000 but was born here in 1960. Was busy serving my country until 2015.
Love happy hour $1 PBR heck ya! Appetizers are on sale to. Outside seating is the best. I stick to their sandwiches. BBQ is so so. I think they use liquid smoke. But you can swap out for a turkey patty or chicken breast on any burger.
Second time and it was hot and humid. Didn't know there was no A/C on first floor. Service was great tea was on point. Didn't like the Mac and cheese. Brussels sprouts were amazing!!
Great food, great atmosphere and good service. During lunch time food is quick. However at night if they have a party it takes a while. Others say its not normally that slow. Definitely worth a try and i recommend getting the sweet tea.
5 stars!!! Excellent customer service & military friendly. We ordered the buffet to go, you definitely get your money s worth! The fish was thick and meaty! The bbq sauce was on POINT!! The calamari was also amazing! I can t say enough good things!
This place is a great relief to the mostly Asian restaurants around. They're smoked meats are excellent, the calamari was great, and sweet tea is a bonus.
This place was good food and 32 oz Mai thai!! Ice tea is delicious cod fish great shrimp good all good the man standing in the women's restroom scared the heck out of us but was fun and if you had a drink even funnier it's a manican!
I grew up in the south, this place is amazing. Staff there are all very helpful and nice, food is top notch and sweet tea is my favorite. Go to spot for sure.
Food is overpriced and not particularly good. If you are from the South and missing home, I guess you might go drinking here. Little kids like the sandbox - and there is a funny surprise in the ladies' bathroom. They DO have good sweet tea!
If you're looking for bbq do not miss this restaurant. The beef ribs are smoked well you can taste it. The coleslaw is ok but the mash is good . For an appetizer the fried calamari is best choice.
