Love the zoo. All the renavations are great and the animals are getting auch needed update to there in closers
I like coming to the zoo but they rarely have any animals out
Extremely disappointed! The area was not well maintained and I'm not sure why we paid an admission fee as many exhibits were empty. What a let down for my grandchildren. Will head to Colorado Springs next time to visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I have only had positive experiences there.
Best zoo I have ever been too! Definitely worth the price. So many different animals and exhibits to see! Plan on spending at least 2 hours there especially if you want to see everything and get pictures. There's animals you see at other zoos and then there is some I haven't seen at other zoos.
There is always something new to learn and there is always some one to teach you. This is a great place to get kids interested in animals and science.
This was our first visit and it did not disappoint...though there are several exhibits under construction. Some animals are not currently there either but it was still a great experience. I would highly recommend going and taking the whole family.
They have animals here. Don't put your kids in the animal enclosures. They don't like that and they usually ask me to leave afterwords. You're only allowed to ride the Okapis around whilst eating ice cream for a short time and then they stop you. Make sure you share some ice cream with your selected Okapi. Be careful of their enormous tongues. They'll try to eat the whole thing in one lick.
Great zoo, but still under construction for new bigger exhibits for the animals. Some animals were not in the enclosures... couldn't see the snow leopard. Also dogs not see the larger primates, not sure if they aren't there or if we just didn't find them.
Such a great place fora family day! Staff is always friendly and the park is clean and spacious!
Love the zoo! Got to feed the birds today. The staff was amazing!
Zoo lights is a great experience for the whole family.
Took us 3-4 hours to get through it which was great!
Great space. Geese were a little too comfortable laying eggs in close proximity to paths. Clean zoo for being large and outdoors.
Always a fun place to visit. This place changes so much there is somet5new everytime we visit. Clean and doesn't smell off like most zoo's. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Alot ofnthe animals weren't out but got to see a baby ring and a baby elephant playing in the water.
My daughter had a great time and the animals looked much more likely then the past time
Great place to spend the day with my kids and the price of entry is pretty good too. I love that you can bring your own snacks and drinks so we can have fun on a budget.
The denver zoo is a lot of fun. They have awesome exhibits, great healthy and happy animals, they have good food options, and they have a clean and family friendly environment. I love the peacocks, they just walk freely around the zoo. They have lots of bathrooms, they have a couple areas for the kids to play, and they have an easy layout
Very beautiful place. Great for pushing a stroller around too. The Christmas lights were also amazing with the things to do during the light show!
Beautiful exhibits, healthy well cared for animals. Welcoming environment with well posted trails!
My son loves the zoo so we go often. The downside is the parking is a nightmare. We only go right at opening to avoid the mess. Also, the volunteers need to be better trained in how to speak to children, I had 2 young children with me last time and a volunteer gave one child a small stuffed animal and not the other and it caused unnecessary hurt feelings. That put a damper on our experience and it never needed to happen.
Huge Zoo with lots of animals and different exibits. Look for the baby animals.
Trip to the zoo was fun! We were pleasantly surprised that more exhibits were open than we thought there would be. The amphibian house was open with a very short line and the primates buildings were open as well. The primate buildings though were packed with a long line so we passed it up but were still able to see the gorillas from outside. There were quite a few exhibits though with no animals. It was a hot day so there were probably inside. The baby rhino was adorable! We didn't see the baby lion Cubs though unfortunately. All in all the zoo was well prepared for the covid restrictions and staff were placed around the park to help with directions.
Have brought family & friends from out of town and all agree it's one of the best in the country. Friendly & knowledgeable staff & volunteers.
It was a very pleasant walk for the Christmas lights but definitely money hungry. $6 for hot chocolate and $3 refill.
There was a dead animal in the exhibit and we were harassed when we where )eaving the zoo and they took away the membership and when we left the zoo they kept following us.
Mixed experiences over several visits. Our first time was very enjoyable. We shared a queso-smothered burrito which was decadent & tasty. Sadly, the second visit didn't leave us with the same impressions. No Bueno.
Zoo was incrediblely dirty unfortunately. Mostly from guests throwing garbage on the ground everywhere. Not enough staff doing clean up to accommodate the large crowds. Also most of the indoor viewing areas we extremly hot, it was only 87 and the 3 hour visit was almost unbeatably hot with no relief indoors like at other zoos I have visited. The most positive part of my visit was the sea lion show, baby animals, and the food from the food truck onsite
The Zoo Is an awesome place. Very large, and ghere are many activities to keep children or teens or Adults busy all day.
I reccomend bringing snacks and cold drinks hecause theirs is pricy and mostly gross. Also the animals can. E lathargic so have your Energy up! The zoo staff are friendly and always helpful. There are lots of bathrooms however it is easy to get lost so grab the Map theres also aquaric animals and even insect's.
Zoo lights are my absolute favorite holiday tradition. They never disappoint. They're phenomenal!
Loved it. Large for the price with plenty of shade and water available .
Lots of animals that were very active when I went! Great zoo!
Loved the zoo, this was our 2nd family trip there and seeing the new exhibits was awesome. It was very affordable for our family especially considering how much there is to see. Bathrooms were always clean. Staff was very friendly.
Great zoo. The kids loved the animals, I loved that the walkways had tons of shade provided by old trees.
Very friendly staff that was helpful with anything we needed
The elephants were cool but it's pretty much just like every other zoo. You've seen one, you've seen them all.
Great zoo for family's or anyone else and helpful staff.
PLS PLS DO NOT BUY TICKETS TO ENTER AFTER 4 pm
We bought 3 tickets yesterday to enter at 5.30 pm, well at entrance they.remind u they r closing at 7pm.
So we entered n WALKED N WALKED and NO ANIMALS to see, and they well trained politely say
ANIMALS ARE SLEEPING.
HOW DARE U SELL TICKETS SO WE CAN ONLY SEE 50% of the zoo.
NOW many areas are LOCKED DOWN
THATS FRAUD
DO NOT GO
DO NOT SPEND UR WELL EARNED MONEY TO SEE. N O T H I N G
All of the animals look healthy and well cared for. They have a wide variety of species and a lot of beautiful and unique art and plants as well. There's quite a bit of shade in many areas, and they have plenty of snack and drink stops along the way. Our favorite critters are the red River hogs, the entire reptile house, and the orangutans. Wish I could just live here, lol.
Yaa...a place to see with family. It has good number of animals and wide variety of animals...I like the way they are maintained and taking care. And climate also supports the animals there....after a long time i have seen a tiger in the zoo... still it needs more food I think...if any person willing to come forward and support I think it will be good. I think one day soon I can do it.....buy I don't know how animals will survive by then....hope they survive...but zoo is well maintained...I like it...
Very nice well maintained zoo. It can be hard pushing a stroller around though sometimes. I have tried the ice cream and it taste pretty good. Haven't seen any malnourishment or abuse with the animals. Definitely fun things for kids.
Had a fun day trip with the girlfriend. There was a water buffalo that was born the morning we came in so that was cool. I especially enjoyed the ability to purchase beer. I'm giving 3 stars because I felt like compared to other zoos some of the animals had really small enclosures and I just find that sad
While a small area, this zoo has one of the best animal collections of any zoo I've ever visited. Also free parking! Woot!
Amazing selection of animals. DO NOT TOUCH THE POLAR BEAR. NOT. FRIENDLY.
Awesome exhibits! Friendly staff and so much to see and do. We have been here twice in the short time we have lived in Denver and just bought a membership. This is a must see.
This 80 acre property is a historic part of Denver and one of the best zoo's in the Midwest. They have a wide variety of animals on display from Otters to Capuchins to Ball Pythons, all of the exhibits are wheelchair accessible. There are both indoor and outdoor exhibits. The zoo, when I last went (7/12/20220) was undergoing some serious renovations. I would say a tour of Denver is incomplete without visiting. It takes roughly 3.5 hours to tour the entire zoo
Large, beautifully landscaped zoo. Enclosures are on the smaller side, and some of major animals (lions, tigers, bears, OH MY- but not joking) were missing from their exhibits. They do have many animals we've never seen at other zoos though. Small details like bronze sculptures of animals throughout, sometimes hidden, make the experience extra pleasant.
Denver zoo is a great place for families, especially those with young kids.
They are doing a great job of making it a pleasant experience. Social distancing made possible by 1 way walking routes and not allowing crowded situations.
My kids and I always love visiting the zoo! This is such a nice zoo too!
Really great zoo. The exhibits aren t too far apart and the food stands are really good.
I loved all the animals and it was the 1st time i visited the zoo
Love the Denver zoo! I That staff is awesome! The zoo is clean and perfectly maintained. I recommend checking their schedule to see what talks are going on. If you live in Denver and have kids being a member can be an excellent idea. On our last visit we got to see the tiger talk. Go early and bring food with you, the selection is not that great and a bit pricey if you ask me.
We are amazed by the way are zoo in Denver...
Very nice and clean facility, the employees is very kind and helpful.
Great experience with our last visit.
the kids love it.
The opportunity to see things you have or will likely never see elsewhere are great. The space for exhibits is limited. They are doing the best they can with what they have. But no animal should be asked to live with these limitations just so I can see them.
Kids already love this place. Bring your walking shoes and pack a lunch! Membership is well worth the money.
Always fun and after years of going first thing in the morning I found that the best time to go is after 130pm. A must for anyone visiting Denver.
Haven't made it all the way through but what I seen was cool food and drink prices are a little steep
Nice zoo, very clean, staff very informative on the animals.
The Denver Zoo is a perfect place to learn about animals. The ever-expanding zoo holds multiple species as well as the largest collection of male Asian elephants in the country. I feel like it's animals first here and all the animals seem very comfortable around humans. Denver Zoo is perfect for the young, and the young at heart.
haven't been here in a few months, but, it's nice. just wish more of the exhibits were full/operational
Nice zoo.My son loves to go there. The membership deal is good!
It's nice to walk through when it's not crowded, and Zoo Lights is enjoyable, but most of the exhibits are empty or closed. The carousel is fun, but the train is broken more than half the time. After 5 years of seeing the same empty exhibit, broken attractions nonsense, I have no intention of renewing my membership here, especially since my kids have started to express their annoyance with only being able to see a handful of animals each time we're here.
Love Denver zoo. It is the best zoo,i have ever been too
It was fun and interesting, I loved all the cute little animals! The only bad thing there was the parking. But the bathrooms are sparkling.
The Denver Zoo is always a great place to visit, They have opened the new bear habitat, the tropical wildlife and fish exhibit was great with cleaned tanks and a new population expansion, didn't get to see the baby lion, the line was too long. But nevertheless it was a great visit and great weather
Bbq is not open on Sunday. We had to at the cafe by the elephants the food was not really good and super over priced.
Great exercise. We had a wheelchair with us. Great accessibility to all parts of the park. Best to go at opening to avoid the crowd.
Great place to bring your family or significant other for a fun day they have all sorts of animals from penguins to elephants it's a lot of fun cant wait to come back during the summer!
