Great zoo, but they have a goose problem. Poop is everywhere! And nothing beats the Dan Diego zoo. But this is worth the trip.

First time vistor. Very nice and friendly zoo! Animals everywhere. Saw peacocks roaming freely, adult and baby geese were eating visitors popcorns. Lots of variety of animals. Seems like all the animals were taken care of well and active. I would take my family there again.
It was very depressing the animals did nothing but want to hide because them seemed depressed, and not enough trees in exhibits for animals to relax under
We love the variety of animals...from bats to polar bears. It's a great place to spend some family time learning together.
Paid full price and most of the animals werent even out or was shut down.
Such a fun place. We intended to go and kill a few hours but ended up going through the whole park because we just forgot about time.
Loved it became a member for less than the cost of 3 time admission.. Great deal almost as good as the national zoo in DC..
As an Aurora Native, I have been visiting the Zoo all my life. As far as the dozen or so Zoo's I have visited, it is pretty good. They are always making improvements. My favorite attraction is Tropical Discovery (I could watch the bats all day!). The Zoo is building new attractions currently and I look forward to seeing the new Stingray exhibit. The giraffes, the primates and the pachyderms are also nicely developed. Well informed and very welcoming staff too.
I love the Denver zoo. As a member we go frequently, but never run out of stuff to do. This visit we got to see the tiger talk. I recommend checking the schedule on the app or site to see what talks are going on. I also recommend the elephant talk at 11:30. Perfect time to sit down and eat lunch.
Who dont love the zoo love taking my kids here very year.
If the weather is nice, the zoo is a lovely place to walk around and check out the animals. Would totally recommend visiting.
Just visited today. Good mix of young adults, teens, and families.
Our membership is well worth the cost! It's a beautiful zoo, they care for many rescued animals, and they worked very hard to build the new exhibit for the Elephant passage. Although everyone would love to see animals in the wild- being able to see the animals up close gives everyone, especially our younger generation a greater appreciation for why they are worth protecting and rescuing when endangered. Thank you for all of your hard work and the Zoo lights always make my birthday feel special.
Good, my children enjoyed with group of friends even grown ups will enjoy
I love this place and wish I could go more often. They have a tiger exhibit, frizzy bears, polar bears, cheetahs and so much more. There was a peace k walking along the sidewalk next to me while I was here! Very cool!
80 acres of amazing! You need 8 hours to see every thing!! Carousel and train available! Food toys .. we enjoyed it
Easily one of the coolest zoos I've ever been to. Really really cool and nature filled straws throughout, surprisingly amazing food, and a massive selection of really really cool animals always with something excellent to see at every turn.
The barbecue brisket was probably the best zoo food I've ever had anywhere. But my favorite part of all was the vast variety of awesome animals and how active they were.
The monkey and ape and gorilla exhibits were by far the coolest in the entire place, but some of the indoor areas with sea life and reptiles were really cool also.
Highly highly recommend and will definitely return again soon.
It's cool but most of the big cats were sleeping and hidden.
Although the zoo makes me a little sad because caging up animals is sad, these animals seem happy and well cared for. The volunteers are also very knowledgeable.
7000 reviews and most are 5 star. My favorite part about the zoo is zoo lights during the holidays.
Everyone who works there was very friendly and helpful and all the animals looked happy and healthy.... overall had a great time looking forward to going again
This is a really good zoo, we really liked how the animal's enclosures looked natural and how much room they had.
We also liked the animal education shows.
We love this place! We have the annual family pass. There are plenty of places to park your stroller should you need to tend to your kiddos. Some of the enclosures seem a little small but I'm trusting the staff knows what they are doing. Thanks!
It was flipping awesome the silverback exhibit. He bang the glass at me twice
Very hot in the summer, but the western side has some good shade. Check out the primates!
Awesome zoo and well organized for the Covid issue .... go early, while it's cool, you'll see more animals.
Denver zoo has done a fantastic job of making Covid-19 modifications. Limitations on attendees and streamlined path made viewing comfortable. Staff is great, really helpful and kindly enforcing rules, like one-ways and mask wearing. Hand washing stations abound. Exhibits and grounds look very well maintained and clean.
Love this place perfect for family time. And tons of pokestops.
Nice zoo, I just wish people would teach their children how to properly behave at the zoo.
One of my fav zoo s. Lots of cool and diverse animals. Layout is good. Animals seem happy and well kept. So glad we got a season pass.
Good zoo, good prices. Wish it had more animals out snd better food
Went to the Christmas light jammer. It was neat but, we barely saw any animals. Made me think we wasted our money.
Had fun but animals were mostly asleep or hiding from the heat
My daughter loves the Denver Zoo. We purchased and maintain a family membership. This is the most cost effective way for us to visit, since we go to the zoo at least once a month. The food is good, but rarely exceptional, so we generally do not eat lunch here. We regularly purchase snacks: drinks, popcorn, soft pretzel, or soft serve ice cream. The animals and exhibits are well cared for. I have never seen an animal that looked unhealthy. The staff do a great job with both the animals and the children.
It's a great zoo a little disappointed the elephant show was cancelled without any explanation. It's my favorite part
The zoo is the best! I love to go and take photos of the animals!
I've been going to the Denver Zoo since 2003 and it has always been an amazing experience!
I love the tigers, the snow leopards, and the cheetahs. The rest of the zoo animals are special to me too! The zoo is my favorite place on earth!! I also have a special place (inside of me for the Lions). God bless the zoo, and all the wonderful animals there!! The only thing I ' do not like is the mean people that visit the zoo. Every time I visit, Someone yells at me. Maybe they should not visit when they are angry at someone and take it out on others!! GROW UP, PLEASE!!!!
Like all the updating but seems like them we never see the animals. In the old exhibits we saw the animals a lot more. I know they are trying to make it more like there natural environment, but then we would like to be able to see the animals too.
I love the layout of the zoo. I am excited to see what the zoo will look like after the current renovations.
We had a blast with our kids clean place lots to look at food is very pricey but other then that it was great
Some of the exhibits closed and was super busy on a tuesday. Get there early to park. Had to walk from the park. Seemed like forever to get there and longer to get back to our vehicle
It costs 20$ now for adult tickets now?? This zoo is one of the worst zoos I've been to..its small and doesn't compare to other cities zoos I've been to. absolutely insane . sad poor kids, that are not able to receive food snaps, won't be able to visit the zoo .
Way to many people. They need to reorganize everything and make sure all ticket stations are open to get people in instead of just one line. Food closes way too early compared to the rest of the zoo. Unhelpful staff. Not enough perks for members. We are 3 year members but this might be our last year
I have lived in Denver about 13 years and have frequent in this Zoo many many times with my family it has been a couple years since the last time I have been to the zoo we have been going to the one in Colorado Springs but I must say this time I was very disappointed as we saw very few animals at all. construction is understandable in the zoo with building new exhibits but it just didn't seem like they were any animals there and the ones that were there, were very hidden by lots of bushes everywhere. It is very apparent that a lot of money is being put into the elephant exhibits but not much of anything else other than all the flowers they have added all over. People come to Denver Zoo because it's a staple to come here but if you're looking to actually learn and be very close to the animals Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is worth the extra Drive
I have been going to the Denver Zoo as long as I can remember. I love going there and seeing the beautiful animals. I will keep going as long as I can. The Denver Zoo is a fun place to go to. I even love the little gift shops that they have there, too. So, yes I will always give the Denver Zoo a five (5) star rating. The workers there always keep the place real nice and clean and take real excellent care of all of the animals. The food at the Denver Zoo is great, too. I love you Denver Zoo!!!!! Your Friend, Nikki Nivens
A bit expensive but worth it. Need more seating throughout the park.
Wow. Nice day today. Most of the animals are out, active at this time.
We had a great outing at the zoo today. First time I d been, it was a sizeable establishment and we walked about 3 miles total with all the little side trails( you could cut it in Half if you wanted/needed). We were there about 3 hours with a toddler and stroller, there also seemed to be a good amount of people but it really didn t feel overcrowded or like people were pushing to the front to see the animals. The exhibits were set up nicely with multiple viewing locations, many also had indoor/covered viewing as well as outside. It was nice to see the animals seemed to have a lot of space and weren t forced on display. There were quite a few animals we did not see (it may have been a seasonal thing with the exhibit closed) or maybe they were taking a nap somewhere- but we didn t feel like we missed out because there were plenty of other animals. Once the trees bloom it will be even more beautiful just as a nice walk too. You also can rent wagons if you have kids that want to be in and out of the strollers. Facility was well kept, restrooms and water throughout. There were a few places to eat, and some small vendors set up throughout. Fun elephant/water show twice a day. I was actually quite surprised that I only can recall one child meltdown the entire time. I didn t notice unhappy children - or even adults, all ages seemed to really enjoy the day. My family will likely get passes to go many more times. Definitely go!
Love this zoo...we are members for the 4th year on arrow bbn kw and live what changes they have made!
I love it, was a great experience. I wish to live closer so I could go more often.
My kids love visiting the zoo! Especially my 8 month old who LOVES Bird World and the Tropical fish! I do wish, like the LA Zoo, that there would be a big playground area to let kids out of their strollers and get some yayas out, as the play things like the sandbox, water area and hippo statue are always so packed and can get too hot in the summer. But we love the zoo!
I typically go with someone who has a zoo pass. It's overall a fun experience with a good layout and good variety of animals, though I wouldn't rate it as a must-do for someone briefly visiting Denver.
Huge zoo, lots of good animals who look healthy and well taken care of
Nice, open exhibits; new "encounter" area is a lot of fun and seems like a great space for the animals.
It's a lot of fun, my only complaints are it's kinda like a maze and it's packed (but that just goes to show how much fun it is).
Zoolights was a great event! Can't wait for it next year!
Glad to see the zoo is open and that they have taken measures to ensure the safety of it's visitors by having two-way walking lanes and specific times for entry. Zoo is not completely open however. Mostly the indoor stuff is closed. Social distancing is posted all over with a face mask required. You'll probably feel a little rush at viewing areas. 2 reasons. 1st, you try to maintain 6 feet away from everyone so you try to get your pictures quick and let others take their turn. 2nd, other folks don't do the 6 feet so they are all in your bubble so you have to move. Other than that's, it was awesome.
Travelling through Denver with my 8 year old son, decided to go to the zoo. The zoo was very nice, only gave it 4 star's because there were a few exhibits under construction, and some just empty. Very well layed out. Prices were comparable to other zoo's we've been to.
Awesome place. I wish they told us that they were closing the park soon so that we knew how long to spend in each area. Didn't know until after my cousin bought a souvenir beer cup to have st least two beers to make it worth the buy, only to be told that they weren't serving anymore after 15 min! No overhead announcement of closing either.
Great place for family fun zoo lights is a must and little ones loves the train
Our family loves the Denver zoo. It is always fun. Their grounds are so pretty. This is a great place to see fall color.
Beautiful exhibits, staff is very friendly and helpful with answering questions.
Recommend getting a year pass-%10 off food and drinks, %20 off souvenir shops.
At the brewery stands purchase the souvenir glass and that combined with your year pass gets your drink cheaper and it s worth it! It s pricey the first time because you are purchasing the glass, but when you bring it with you for your next beer it s cheaper.
Purchase the souvenir soda cup for around $5 and then your refills are around $1.50.
You can pack in lunches and find plenty of places to sit and eat.
Parking is a little snug since it is next to the museum and if the museum is packed unfortunately some people come and park at the zoo and walk over to the museum. Taking spots away from people trying to go to the zoo.
Sadly it happens a lot and I ve seen it all to often. Frustrating!
Come at opening time and you will have easy parking. Come at lunch time and it s much harder to find parking.
