Amazing zoo, place was clean. Beautiful landscaping through out the zoo. You get to look at the animals from really close look. You can tell animals are treated nice ! Lots of parking. You have to purchase tickets online due to Pandemic, but it was fast. Two different kinds of penguins, you get to see the sealions swin on water and outside, lions are close to look at, same as elephants and giraffe s. Also lots of different monkey s. Overall, was one of the best zoo s i ve been to

Right now the Denver Zoo is undergoing a wonderful transformation. They're adding new buildings, upgrading facilities for the animals and making this an overall better place to visit. Make sure you put on your walking shoes. I've been coming to the zoo for 20 years and it's always a wonderful Adventure every time I go. Check out their classes and special events all year such as Zoo lights.

We love Denver Zoo!!! You can actually walk and enjoy the zoo without being scared of cars because there is none allowed. The kids love the carousel and the train ride. They enjoy the Zoo every time we visit.

Ps. We had the San Diego zoo membership and visited many times but we didn t like the ginormous buses that polluted the air and we could smell it everywhere and it s dangerous to walk as you always have to watch for the buses!

Went for the zoo lights during Christmas and had a great time. It was at night so didn't see many animals but it was fun to walk around with hot cocoa and enjoy the lights. Would recommend. Great, simple date night idea that doesn't take too long.

Not the most expansive or exciting zoo ever, but we did enjoy our time looking at the primates, the grizzly bear, and the elephant. I wish there was a larger underwater viewing area for the sea lions and otters.

They did a good job of requiring people to wear masks, disinfecting railings, handling food orders, maintaining social distancing.....although we did miss having everything open and available, but understand the necessity. We liked the one way paths that guided you, and we're easy to follow.

I don t usually expect to have a great experience at a zoo, but this one was amazing. They have a few shows that get you really close to the animals. Definitely recommended as one of the top spots to visit if you are near the area.

Way too crowded, and good luck finding parking. The elephant exhibit will make you wanna cry. The last time I was there one of the elephants was locked in the inside part of the habitat and was slowly knocking it's head and foot against the door to the outside. If you want to see some animals without getting depressed I would go to the mountain zoo in Colorado springs.

Was disappointed. I was last there in the mid-90's when they had two polar bear cubs. This time no bears of any kind. Many exhibits under construction. Hopefully it will be back to quality when it is done. Did like the combined elephant, hippo, rhino exhibit.

My wife and I went to kill sometime before our hotel check in. It said it would take around 2 hours to go through. My wife and I were there for around 4 hours and we didn t see everything. Surprisingly big. It was super hot during the day in the summer, so be prepared.

Zoo lights is a great show for the whole family.
By selling blocks of tickets for different times, the Zoo does a good job of not over loading the pathways and access areas.
Just wish there were a few more beer stands....would of got 5 stars then!

We love the Zoo and with the pass we just do small portions each time we go and my toddlers just love it! There is even a play set with lots of fun for kids with a few benches, great place to take a break in the shade!

I haven't been here in a few years. It just gets better and better. They have made several improvements. Lots of places to sit and rest and to picnic. Love the Denver Zoo. It's a little pricey. Best to buy a pass. And don't forget you can get a free "caregiver pass" added to your pass in case someone else takes your child to the zoo, like a grandpatent:)

Love coming here to see the animals with my nephews (2 and 4). The keepers are patient and love explaining things and answering questions, and the animals have good spaces, healthy food, and active training. Love the Toyota Elephant Passage, a special habitat for male elephants. We visit often!

Absolutely loved this zoo! It's got a ton of animals of all shapes and sizes. It's a photographers dream! They dont have those enclosures with 5 fences so you can never get a good shot lol. They have the best areas for viewing and taking photos. It was 36 degrees when I went so most of the animals weren't out, sadly, but I was still able to have an amazing time. Great for all ages! Would definitely recommend!

The Denver Zoo is awesome! My wife and I were visiting from Utah and we went on Free Zoo Day (February 7). There were obviously tons and tons of other people, and so parking was difficult, but the zoo itself was so fun and diverse! There were animals that I didn't even know any zoo had, much less the Denver Zoo. Really surprised by my visit. If I come back to Denver, I'll want to go back to the zoo.

I loved the zoo, got done with the whole thing in 3 to 4 hours. I recommend going early and checking the scheduled events the day before so you dont miss anything cool. We went on a free day so look out for that it was awesome and not even that busy. Bring a cooler with drinks and snacks everything is 5 to 11 bucks for food. I recommend binoculars if you have them and a jacket in case its chilly. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Dont be a piece of garbage and sit in front of a really cool exhibit like the gorilla and orangutan and just film for 10 minute and not let anyone see. Seniors and kids are more import than fat people and selfish jerks. If this happens to you get a staff member to help you get your turn. Or security of they are being hostile. All in all a good place for families

Let me start out by saying there are 7 of us in our family and trying to find something to do on a budget is hard sometimes but the Denver Zoo never disappoints. I suggest getting a yearly pass it pays for itself in our case one visit but the average size family I'd say two trips. The place in usually very clean and staff is very friendly. Lots of great animals to see and this place is always upgrading something to make this place even better every year we go. So if your looking for a cheaper activity you can do with the kids the Dever Zoo is a great place to go and grab that year pass and save your family some money!

The zoo has a nice layout and lots to see. Some of the enclosed buildings are dated and need better doorways to enter and exit the exhibits. The parking is not the zoo's fault, but it is an absolute nightmare during any busy afternoon window. Cars circle for 20 minutes stalking people leaving the zoo to ask them for their parking spot. Their needs to be a better solution to such a consistent problem.

Get a membership. It's worth it.

First of all when I arrived we were told they were NOT honoring any discounts. So we paid full price which is fine. Then when you get into the Zoo a lot of the areas were cordoned off and everyone is pushed to walking in the same direction. Only got to see a small fraction of the animals as they were either not out or the displays were closed because they were worried about the animals catching covid. Then there was an additional animal display for the Rays and they wanted EXTRA money to see it. All in all a very poor day, if the Zoo is going to do this they should not charge full price and then even ask extra money. Very disappointed.

I loved this zoo! I had a 7-hour layover at the airport in March and decided to venture out for some food and sightseeing; the Denver zoo was my first stop! The entrance prices are affordable and they have programs all day. I especially loved seeing the peacocks they have roaming around freely throughout the zoo! I would definitely make another trip.

I enjoy taking my kids here often. Way better than the zoo in Dallas/Ft. Worth. It takes us a good 3-4 hours usually to walk the whole thing. I even think their little aquarium inside the zoo is better than the Downtown Aquarium!

Zoo babies! So many be wonderful exhibits with information on the animals and their native habitats, and many volunteers giving even more in depth educational perspective. Plan on carpooling when possible, parking fills up fast but go early and often!

Surprisingly nice for the size of Denver, plus really fun events through out the year. I really like brew in the zoo. Also the barbecue place, is actually really good, near the bear exhibits and the carousel

A beautiful park! Smaller than I imagined but they definitely take very good care of the animals. The viewing enclosures are misleading to some people. They look small but they expand towards the back and the animals have a quite large area to roam.

For the size of the zoo it is a little expensive. We were hoping to see more aquatic animals but the selection is pretty small. Elephant show was pretty nice. Lots of African animals to see. It can be very crowded on the weekends and all the food and drinks are pretty expensive. Wish this place was a lot bigger for the price.

The water in all the cages were very little. Grass and plants inside cages and outside were all overgrown and dieing. Looked like an abandoned Zoo! Feel sorry for all the animals that have to live there. My son was disturbed and wanted to leave and so was I.
