I wasn t sure how Denver Zoo would compare to Houston Zoo which we loved before we moved. I was not disappointed! Their exhibits are set up in a way that lets you get a really close look at the animals. They are doing such a good job during the pandemic at setting up different routes to keep people distanced while still letting you get the full experience. They have a grizzly bear, hippo, and their lion enclosure is awesome! My son got to stand at watch a male lion at feeding time right in front of the glass. Just so much more up close and personal than the many other zoos we have been too. Must see if you are in Denver!

Our primates are the coolest. Just make sure to go during the daytime. At night they replace most of the animals with facsimiles. And not cool Westworld robot facsimiles either. These are made of LED lights and only a lower ape would be fooled otherwise

We LOVE the Denver zoo and we were so happy to go back for a visit after they reopened during covid! There were no large crowds of people, workers were walking around sanitizing surfaces and keeping everything clean during our visit. The animals were out swimming and playing in the sun with us. Can't wait to go again!!!

Kids love going to the zoo. For the most part, the Denver Zoo is a nice place to visit. Clean and we'll kept. I worried about certain exhibits being to small or not designed right, but they are doing upgrades and renovations to address those areas. Bonus value for being able to bring your own cooler, wagon, etc. They don't nickle and dime you there.

Not vastly different than most zoos I've been to, but still a great zoo by most standards. They seem to be doing a lot of unique conservation work, which I greatly appreciate and want to encourage. We got lucky and were able to see their new two month old lion cub. He was active and playful and adorable. They have a VERY impressive elephant exhibit as well.

The night exploration at the zoo was fun. The pumpkin carvings were very impressive and having a chance to see some of the animals thst are normally up at night moving around was pretty amazing.

I love this place. Great exhibits where the animals are usually in natural habitats and you can see them up close through glass or railings. Also, you can bring in your own food and there are plenty of places to sit down. In the spring the flowers are amazing, though the setting is pretty all year. I love the big trees. I'm glad the Zoo doesn't have as many geese as once took up residence there. They could be aggressive with young and they were everywhere. Parking can be a pain, but if you go early or after 1 it is easy to find close parking.

The newly expanded elephant area is huge! They also have an elephant show, and we got to feed a giraffe! Many of the exhibits are very open. There are also plenty of indoor viewing areas, so a zoo day is great in any weather.

A fun, beautiful place to stroll through with kids/family, out of town visitors, dates and more. Denver Zoo is always doing cool exhibits - artwork, Lego sculptures, zoo lights during the holidays, etc - in addition to the great animal environments. Always a good time!

Great place to take the kids, family, or with friends. The Denver Zoo has a large variety of cats, monkeys, shows, birds, & the rest of the animals that will catch your eye. They sell popcorn, snacks, icecream, and restaurants if you care to sit. You can also enjoy a cold beer while you stroll through the park/zoo. They are open 7 days a week from 9am till 4pm. You will enjoy it.

Fantastic talks and demonstrations for guests. They provide choice and control for all of the animals under their care, allowing them to choose where they would like to spend their day. This includes being out of guest view. They rotate environmental enrichment and even habitats for some species.

None of the cats were out. At least a third of the zoo seemed to be elephant enclosures for three elephants. We felt like we saw barely any animals. We went to the zoo in Colorado Springs two summers before and had a much better experience.

Hands down one of the best zoos in the states. Not only is this zoo constructed in an easy to navigate style but the looping trails ensure that no animal will go unseen. With an impressive collection of species and exhibits it is easy to spend an afternoon or evening here. There are plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat or snack throughout the park, and fun interactive points for children and adults alike.

Even though the zoo was really busy when we went, didn't feel like it! We were really impressed with the beautiful enclosures and the well taken care of animals. There were many species none of of us in the group had ever seen before, it was such a wonderful day! The worst part was the parking, that was a nightmare

U know it's the ZOO Its always cool but at night with lights even better except I wish there was some kind of ambient type lighting in the animals enclosures so that you could see them even if it was green let's say to match the holiday lights? But omg it's a really cool light display they put together it's absolutely beautiful I must say they did a really good job...and thanks to ACE HARDWARE fit the super good deal on the tickets and sponsorship they have with the zoo. GREAT JOB!

Been coming here all my life and the facility is as well maintained as ever if not better. The whole experience is definitely a family park one but its a great place to go and see and teach kids about animals.

I've been going here since I was little and the new tiger and elephant exhibits make it even more magical. I feel bad for the elephants though, they only have Male elephants and they keep them segregated. Elephants are rarely alone in the wild they are very social, I understand if it was for their rut or something but otherwise it just looks depressing as they rock to comfort themselves.

Denver Zoo Lights never fails to surprise. On a cold windy night, we were perfectly happy walking around the zoo seeing all of the beautiful light displays. I love to go here every year and look forward to seeing what they have in store for us!

Wonderful staff with 80 acres of beautiful as to enjoy! The clouded leopard kittens are adorable. It is a great zoo. They keep it updated and fresh and it's always clean. The animals seem happy and comfortable and they always have another room to go into if they're uncomfortable.

A member for years now and love it. My daughter loves coming here and we look forward to zoo lights! The membership is well worth the price considering I go so often. They do a great job of caring for the animals !!

It's a zoo on free days. I guess all days, but even the parking is on free days. Cant expect to park in a lot. Nice variety of animals and a pretty nice set up. Some bird feeding and other interactive stuff.

Great zoo, my daughter loved watching the elephants playing in the water because they were so close (at least it seemed that way). The only complaint would be the parking....my husband ended up dropping us off and coming back later because we drove around for 30 min with no luck. My advise would be to go before they open and get a spot!

Stopped by the DZ on our way home from Houston, TX. Was a little disappointed that the Active Duty Military were not offered the FREE PASS like the Houston Zoo...
The DZ is really nice, lots of cool animals and the kids really enjoyed the reptile house.
It was $54.00 for my wife and 3 boys (11,8 and 4)
