Always a great time here. It s a fail safe when we have nothing to do because we know everyone will love it.

This is one cool zoo. Every turn I something to do! Plus they have beer! Komodo dragons here too!

The Zoo is one of my favorite places to go. They have friendly staff and genuinely care for each animal. Always doing cool new exciting things. Boo at the zoo is great for kids and don't forget about zoo lights. Think about becoming a member. Zoo for two is only $95.00 and then if you renew early $80.00. If you go 3 or more it's worth it and then some. Also get a reusable zoo cup refills are $1.50 and you can bring it back next time. Also check a list of days that are free days on the website.

Excellent zoo, and I loved how everything in all of the restaurants was compostable!!

I love the Denver Zoo and as their Master plan starts to really get underway the future is very bright. I will say that the big cat house is currently closed but all the Lions, Tigers and Cheetah have newer exhibits and are still on display. The zoo once famous for Polar Bears now has none and Northern Shores is also part of the big overhaul that is in the works. If you live in the area the memberships are such a great deal with discounts on almost everything sold in the park. If you are visiting it is a great way to spend a day.

Nothing much to see, half of the Zoo is empty. No exotic birds/animals. Zoo itself very confusing, the map and actual display of animals don t match. We spent half of the time in Zoo watching empty cages and look for animals.

My kids loves their train! I think Denver Zoo is one of Denver's treasures. planned perfectly for a day in the zoo. The place is always clean and looks well maintained. the staff is very freindly and knowladgeble and happy to answer anyone questions. Come early and stay the whole day.

We went yesterday and it was amazing. The animals were amazing. They looked clean and healthy. Exhibits were close together. Staff was super nice. Place is amazing. Only complaint would be the price of food (5$ soda/6$ powerade) but nowadays when you want to go to amusement parks and such that's what your paying. Lets be honest. Pack snacks and water so you dont spend as much. Other than that the place is amazing.

They have changed a lot since i was last there. Still improving.

I wanted to thank the folks at the Denver Zoo for the Free Admission Day today, what a treat! I hadn't been to the Zoo in ages, it really took me back to my childhood. The animals seemed in good spirits.
I especially enjoyed the giraffe enclosure, the three giraffe who were present couldn't figure out why they couldn't access the part of the enclosure the human - who was there cleaning - was in. They looked at me and then looked at the human and looked back at me, like I was supposed to do something about it. I told them they could probably take care of that pesky human who was in the way of a full basket elevated above the floor full of fresh hay, if they really wanted to. I also tried to reassure them that they probably should just be cool, the human would undoubtedly be giving them food tomorrow, too. They calmed down, no need to worry.

Wonderful zoo. Lots of good shade and great shows.

Great zoo. Very large, clean, and well laid out. Took three adults three hours to cover the whole thing. Would recommend for a way to spend an afternoon in Denver.

Very large zoo - but was not very impressed by the exhibits during my visit. Several exhibits were completely empty and not very exciting otherwise (the tiger exhibit at the Denver aquarium was better than anything at the actual zoo).

On top of that, I found it very difficult to navigate your way around the park - not a lot of signs pointing to the main attractions and a very confusing network of paths. It makes for a decent day activity, but overall not that worth it.

Liked Giraffe, Zebra , lions n Elephant. Also nice peacock.

Awsome place to take the kids! Zoo was clean and all the employees were SUPER nice!

We love the Zoo! Great personable and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. I love the frequently changing exhibits and updates. My one complaint is that there could be more bathrooms. If going with young kids make sure you plan your bathroom breaks so you arnt hauling it across the park!

I love the polar bear!!! And the elephant show is amazing

We were there during the dinasaur week.. and our 5-yr old boy was so ecstatic. The zoo animals are just same as the other zoos.. but they have a lot of kids stuff to do and look at.. The animatronic dinasaur were cool!
Ok food.. of course be prepared to spend around $15 for a hamburger lunch ..

This place is unbelievable definitely a must on a nice cool morning...

Awesome place to spend a day with my son from Montana. What a learning experience for us both!

Very nice place, well laid out, has good number and variety of animals, spacious. Description placed for each of the animals. Easily approachable and accessible throughout by wheelchair. Food (though slightly pricey)and water available all through as it has many restaurants & fountains spaced at some distance. Rest rooms available.

They need misters for their guests or something or place for the guests to cool off

The staff were all very knowledgeable and happy to share information on the animals. It was clean and even with a bunch of school field trips going on, the zoo was spacious enough that we never felt crowded.

Always enjoy coming here. Strangely enough thru have great gluten free options for eating

I have not been in the zoo when a long time this really really was nice.

Our first experience was the ticket counter. We were completely unaware that the Zoo closed at 5 o'clock and we arrived at 4:15 and we were not the only ones either. Customer service stepped right up via their website and made things right. The main attraction we wanted to see was the silverback and we weren't disappointed. He is a specimen of wonder. We will be going back and soon. They have electric wheelchairs for rent and manuals as well. Electrics are $30 for the whole day. Saves us having to load up mine. Handicap parking is right up front however I would arrive early to get one. Gates open at 8:30a for pass holders. From what I understood from their website...just type in Denver Zoo to locate their webpage. Looking forward to our next visit and all the marvelous pictures we can take!

Some really nice upgrades and its cool to see the animals.

Pleasant sunny day at the Denver Zoo. The zoo was very clean, spacious, and enjoyable for all. The animals look healthy and well feed. Great experience!

Hot, it was nice, although none of the big cats were out

I liked how they had arrows to lead the way. It made me feel as if i was able to see all yhe animals becaues they had the way layed out. Didnt like how they don't accept any cash. Not ok with that.

Lots of baby animals, friendly staff, easy to get around, and a wide variety of animals.

We will never go here again. We travel the world and go to zoos and aquariums in every city we can. This was the saddest zoo ever. All the animals are so depressed. We even over hear locals talking about how said and depressed the animals all are all the time and they keep coming back in hopes they will use the money to build better environments. The best thing about the zoo was the 4d ride (which you have to pay extra for) and it wasn't even all that great.

Took my son for his 1st birthday and he LOVED it the giraffes especially

We love the zoo. For the price of a family to go for one day it is almost worth it to just get a membership. If you plan on going more than once, a pass is a good idea. They have lots to see and several events or shows throughout the day. Like any theme or amusement park the food is over priced but some of the food kiosks make really good stuff. The barbeque trailer makes good food.

From a kids perspective, this zoo is amazing. The volume of different animals is amazing and they really do learn a lot about all the animals and even their struggles in the wild or against humans and poachers. The animal exhibits really are up close and personal and create an intimacy some newer zoos don't have with the animals farther away from the people.

From an adult perspective it is both impressive and amazing to see these beautiful animals, as well as a little depressing to see such small conditions for these animals. If this stuff bothers you I'd suggest passing on this zoo. The same sheer volume of animals within the zoo ground also makes for such small enclosures. Obviously I'm no animal expert to know how much space they need but for example, I have to assume the 20x20 enclosure for two large snow leopards just isn't enough space.

Ultimately I believe the good outweighs the bad as my children are continuing grow in their respect and understanding of all the different animals and the animals needs in their lives. If they don't have these intimate encounters and are unaware of these animals, how can they ever be respectful of them.

Didn't see many of the animals, and $20 a person is ridiculous! Most expensive zoo I've ever been to and definitely not the best!

The bears were among the favorites for our family to see!

Great place to take the kids or come alone. The demonstrations are educational as well as fun. Sure has improved since I was a kid!

I have lived on both coasts, have lived and visited Europe and have visited the zoo wherever I have lived and visited. The Denver Zoo rates at the top!

Not impressed. Half of the animals weren't out in their exhibits or the exhibits were closed/empty so my grandchildren were bummed. Staff was not helpful or very willing to answer questions. Was visiting from a different state and would never come back to this zoo.

Interesting exhibits and animals. Great for kids. But not a lot of food places.

Even in Winter this zoo is worth visiting. The tigers, giraffes, hippos, seals, and elephants were all able to be spotted.

Great zoo, lots of history and some really well made enclosures. The Sea lions were my favourite as they swam around and played with one another. Took about 6 hours to see the whole thing, but we meandered and took a lot of photos. Probably 4 hours if you wanted to see everything with less photo breaks.

Wife's favorite, one of the better zoos in the country. Good value.

Free Day! So packed and busy but enjoyable to spend some time outside.

it's a different experience when you go to the zoo when you're older and had lots of fun.

I have a yearly membership here and I always do the Wild Lights, this year was the first time doing the Enchanted Hallows and needless to say we were extremely happy, I was able to not only share the experience with my kids but also my niece and great niece and it was very well worth the time. We will definitely be doing this every year.

I love this zoo! I went here as a child and I loved coming back. It was just just as beautiful as is was in the 90s. The animals were amazing! I went with my boyfriend and we had a blast! I love the the peacocks still roam around and are so interactive. Make sure you stop here when you re in Denver!

Amazing loved it! Easy to navigate through they had some construction and we didn't get to see the felines but went through and saw everything else and had a really good time with the family. First time ever to the Denver zoo and loved!

My nephew loved it. Not as big as I hoped for being from California but super to get your children out.

Excellent value, amazing exhibits, and a grand time- we thought it might be a 2 hour trip, 3 would be pushing it. Instead we we're the nearly 5 hours, taking our time exploring the exhibits and seeing the animals. Vei different from our zoo at home. Focus on education and diverse species, very cool. Some animals I've not gotten to see outside of research books: cassowaries, sloths, and condors. Great value, highly recommend!

Really disappointing most exhibits were still under renovation and half the animals I expected to see are not even around any more. Polar bear is gone as well as a lot of the big cats plus multiple other animals. The price you pay to get in is not worth it.

A decent zoo. Kinda laid out funky.Missed the primates altogether because I made a wrong turn at the birds. Overall good venue for a family outting.

Love the zoo lights. Wish it stayed up till the end of January like the court house.

Love this place everytime I come! Never had a problem and it's an all day trip. Worth every cent!

My husband and I enjoy coming here and are members, but can t ever find parking! They often times block the ramps too, which makes us + 50 other cars drive around the outside parking, causing jams. Many times we ve had to just forfeit zoo day due to parking. Not sure if we should be continuing on with our membership since parking is such a problem. Probably won t be.

This place is fun for kids I love the elephant show it's amazing

Light show was disappointing. No help to get around. Drunk parents lost, with children in strollers. Dead ends in the dark. No path to follow. Listening to parents say they were only there for the beer. Maps not lit correctly to see in the dark and signs completely dark.

It rained, so my free birthday ticket and my friends money were wasted...

ZooLights was great. Can t wait to go back during the day!

Such a good variety of animals! My brother and I enjoyed it a lot!!! The gift shop is overpriced though, don't buy anything there what so ever, money trap.

Love the zoo and the staff here is friendly and super helpful.
