The membership is well worth it if you intend to visit more than twice. If you get one and have children, ask about the "nanny pass" which allows someone to bring your child to the zoo without having a membership and without paying. It is a great deal.

Popular place in Colorado it's have many free days in the year and that is good thing for the big families to go and have some fun. I want to thank everybody working in Denver zoo thank you so much for your job guys.

We always have so much fun at the zoo! No matter how busy it is, it never feels crowded. It's a great day out with the kiddos and they really love every minute of it. The animal enclosures offer good viewing for young kids and we can let them wander slowly through the zoo without feeling like we're being pushed along. The food isn't badly priced, but we bring a lunch most of the time. Everything is always clean and tidy and all the employees we've talked to have been super friendly and helpful!

Very enjoyable experience to have with friends and family I would highly recommend coming here if you d like to spend some quality time looking at beautiful animals that are very well taken care of by the zoo! Parking was actually relatively easy to find which was surprising considering just how many people were there when I arrived. When I went inside the zoo it was extremely busy to the point where there was a line at the front gate, but there was still so much space inside the actual zoo itself that everyone had enough room to comfortably walk around from section to section which was nice. The zoo is kept very clean as well making it nice to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere, there are trash cans setup almost every 50 to 100 feet so that way you always have a place to dispose of your trash making it way less likely for trash to be found on the ground which I think is an amazing thing that the zoo did to keep the environment eco friendly as well as making sure that the people walking around and enjoying the zoo are comfortable and not having to deal with trash all around their feet so hats off to the team that keeps this zoo clean! The drinks were a bit pricey as expected but they were actually decent size so that way you didn t have to buy multiple throughout your journey and could just be satisfied with just one drink! The animals all look very clean and well taken care of, they seem to be very comfortable and seem to enjoy the atmosphere that they are in. I know most people advocate against zoo s for keeping animals locked up but I would say here is a way different story, the animals kept here are well fed, well taken care of and made sure that they don t get sick or catch diseases. Plus most of them are there because they can t survive in the wild so this zoo is very good at making sure all of their animals are well taken care of and happy to roam around as much as they would like to! If you haven t been here before and you live in Colorado you are highly missing out! It s not expensive at all and is a great time for friends and family so come check it out 10/10 would highly recommend and will be returning in the future.

Wonderful zoo. Great newer exhibits, you can pay to feed the giraffes. Kids of all ages can take the train, or ride the carousel. In Dec they have zoo lights st night. They have decorated around the entire zoo & are open from 5 to 9pm. Purchase tickets in advance, as they sell out quickly.

You and your family will enjoy the Denver Zoo. It is great for the young and the old. You can bring your stroller or a wheel chair. There is access for both. I even saw a large wagon also. This is a great day trip. If you go early in the morning the anamals are likely to be out and lively. They also feed the animal's at certain times of the day. You get a map of the zoo with your ticket purchase. You can spend all day with nature and the animals. There is also rides for the young and old.

There were several exhibits open which was nice. I understand the whole people wanting to do the social distance thing and having stuff marked off and one way. The paths were clearly marked, which made it nice. I did not like how they had bales of straw placed in front of some of the exhibits and people jumping your case if you take up more than one "stall" when no one else was around you. Might make a sign to add to all the other ones you have placed through out the zoo that those are stalls so others know. Also don't like the fact that you are required to wear a mask the entire time you are at the zoo. Sorry, but when there are no one within 12 or more feet of me and I pull my mask down I don't need the mask security to come running over telling me to pull it back up. I would come back again if I was in Denver again, but not as long as its set up for the pandemic nonsense.

The animal habitats look nice. They have a large variety of animals. The zoo is big enough that we spent 3 afternoons seeing things. Kids also love the moving dinosaur models they have around the zoo. Also there are peacocks and baby peacocks just wondering around. If you get a membership then it's a great cheap place to come for a hours.

Excellent zoo with a large variety of animals and a very helpful and knowledgeable staff willing to assist with whatever you need. Food and souvenirs are overpriced, but at least the money actually goes toward improvements to the zoo. Definitely make sure you attend the sea lion demonstration and elephant demonstrations, but get to the sites 10-15 minutes early if you want a good seat!

Denver zoo is a really fun place. Zoo lights is beautiful and relaxing around christmas time and they treat the animals fairly well. The tigers are awesome, and the meercats are a must see. The giraffe pins are a little depressing, but they let them out most of the time. If you are visiting, I would highly suggest you check this place out. Pricey concessions, but worth it for the views and fact you are supporting these animals!

Excellent zoo with friendly staff and wonderful, educational zoo shows. We saw the Conservation, Elephant, and Sea Lion zookeeper talks. It's a huge place you can spend hours in. Great family outing!

It's small but so well done.
This sets the standard of what a zoo should be!
Food could be better

Its ok think the enclosurures for some animals are way to small and dated. The rino was frustrated pacing his enclosure and routinely banging his but on the edge of gate. Very few animals to see in winter time, lots of empty space to see. No food places open in winter. Not overly impressed

Great for a family outing if the weather cooperates! Not much shelter available if there happens to be one of Denver's springtime afternoon rain storms! I also feel badly for the animals in captivity.

Never really liked zoo's but I understand that they do some good around helping animal species and their servivel on this planet. The Denver zoo is no exception, they have some good exhibits for animals and others that definitely need some expansion.

Zoo lights were beautiful but the crowd made it not worth the trouble. Most of the path was too crowded to see any of the lights at ground level, and you had to move with the flow of the "herd". Walking through zoo lights was similar to being stuck on I-25 during rush hour traffic. We went on a Sunday night so maybe week nights aren't as bad.

We love the zoo, and we have attended many times! However, we decided to go on a Sunday at 3:30. We knew the zoo closed at 5 on Sundays. We figured an hour and a half was plenty of time to hit a few of the bigger animals we love. Little did we know, they start CLOSING exhibits at 4...what?! If I had known this, I wouldn t have wasted time paying for a full price ticket to not even get to see certain animals. Maybe make those later hour tickets cheaper?? Or have some kind of blurb saying certain exhibits start to close early. Because it resulted in a screaming and crying toddler who didn t get to see the monkeys because it closed at 4 and we didn t walk to the exhibit fast enough. And nothing was offered to make it right.

I don't know I really was not impressed with the zoo everything is very expensive and they hardly have any animals out wish you could have been better you should try lowering your prices I mean really we're only kids

Awesome!!! Always a great time. This really is a quality zoo, fun for the whole family. Would highly recommend bringing your own lunch, but if you don't the food options are good, just pricey. Very kid friendly

Four stars because some of the enclosures are small, but in the last six years they have made some serious improvements. The gorillas, bears, elephants, tigers and rhinos habitats all have become larger.

Also very happy with the covid restrictions. They only allow a certain amount of people in every hour, Every area had at least two people sanitizing every handle/railing, the popular exhibits had staff making sure only a certain amount of people looked at once, EVERYONE had masks on, hand sanitizers were everywhere, they made it literally impossible to go against the flow of traffic and they had little stalls made out of hay bales so people could look at the animals from six feet apart....it was incredible. I genuinely felt safe as somebody who is has loved ones who are imunocompromised.

Way over priced for a small zoo! Half the animals were gone! No money's! Pay $50 for my kids to not see their fav animals. They provide strollers or little car buggies for kids though ! They were about $7 -9.
