Good place for a family walk. Needs updating. They spent millions on an elephant enclosure that doesn't improve the experience with the elephants. Boo at the zoo is super fun for the whole family.

Love the zoo! Parking was fairly easy to find, admission was a little more expensive than I was expecting at $17.00 but overall the facilities are well maintained and the animals are a blast to see!

The zoo is currently updating quite a few exhibits. Unfortunately, that means the feline building and bird world are unavailable. The elephants, lions and giraffes are the stars of this zoo and definitely worth a visit. Once the construction is complete, should be 5 star again.

Great zoo with many options for young and old. We had friends in town from Dallas and they commented on how great the zoo was compared to theirs. Love having a membership so we can go for a couple hours and not worry about seeing everything in one trip. Don't miss the baby gorilla!

I love visiting Denver Zoo! Their new covid setup is actually really nice and effective with minimal wait times. The exhibits are great and all the updates they have done and the ones still in progress look amazing. Lots of security presence as well makes for a safe environment for the whole family.

My daughter's first time at the zoo! We went to see the Lions and as my girl walked up to the class, the momma lion came up and looked for a good two minutes! Best feeling ever and got her a stuffed lion for the experience. Will definitely come back, soon!

Did a pretty good job of social distancing. They just had a couple cracks go in right befor me that didn't have masks and were standing about 3 inches away from people. They did a really nice job of helping them.

A great experience for the whole family! Well maintained and recently updated exhibits make this a wonderful learning experience for young ones as well as a captivating tour for adults. Sesonal events are an added bonus to this zoo. Only reason for 4 stars, is the dining experience is sub par. Pack a lunch and snacks and you are sure to have a great time!

I've been to a lot of zoos and this is definitely on the Top 5 list. I dare to say it's better than the San Diego Zoo. It's a bummer that some exhibits always seem to be under construction or closed all the time. I'm thrilled they finally got the tiger exhibit up and running somewhat. The clouded leopard kittens are adorable. And I can't get enough of penguins. They're always the best dressed at any occasion.

Food and drink was way more than I was capable or willing to pay for, and most of the water fountains did not work so I was dehydrated and could not enjoy the experience to it's full potential.

The weather was absolutely beautiful that night. The lights were amazing. So much color and at certain spots a whole panoramic view of lights appeared. Absolutely stunning. It was our first visit and we loved it!! I especially loved the lights that draped down and swung in the gentle breeze.

Went to the Denver Zoo with my son on an 18 hour layover to Arizona, the zoo allowed us to check our backpacks in a secure area in the Welcome Center so we didn't have to lug them around all day. The staff were extremely nice and helpful when needed, they immediately directed to hurry and see the new cub as we got there late in the day and they wanted us to see it. The exhibits were pretty and the animals were more than taken care of (have been to a few zoo's where the animals and exhibits looked as though they weren't being taken care of). I wish we didn't get there so late in the day so we could have taken our time a little more, but it was still a good day spent with plenty to see! This zoo made for a good time on our layover in Denver.

Also, make sure you get some of the strawberry ice cream... I told my son no at first, but am glad we got it on the way out as it was DELICIOUS! Perfect after a nice warm day walking the zoo!

It's a good zoo. The people that work there are super friendly and love animals. We have a season pass. It's a great way to spend some time with my 2 and half old son. The best exhibits are the elephant, giraffes, tigers and gorillas.

A great zoo. Because it was late in August and school had started the crowds were absent, at times it felt like we had some exhibits to ourselves. It was a pretty quiet walk-about the zoo. Nice park. Well kept. Met a great, longtime volunteer at the giraffes and learned more about giraffes in 20 minutes than in my previous 64 years. Great to experience her enthusiasm. Best for us were the giraffes, hippo, elephants, tigers, seals and sea lions, penguins, bird house where the feathered friends walk and fly amongst you & the incredible multicolored frogs. Loved the aquarium too. Spend 4+ hours there, and could have used more time. If there was a disappointment it was the food. We were there around late-lunch time and ate at the stir-fry shack the Kamala Cafe. 4 of us had different dishes involving chicken. Not one piece of chicken in any of bowls approached hot in temperature. About half the chicken pieces in each bowl were actually cold. A terrible quality control issue. Most of it went in the trash. Plus 2 of the mini food kiosks ran out of pretzels!! Do visit, as it a wonderful zoo, but consider bringing your own food. 4 out of 5 rating because of the food issues.

Wonderful time and not to hot.

Wonderful time and not to hot.
Unfortunately some of the animals played hide and seek so we missed some.

It was a nice zoo. Nice safety regulations based on the pandemic. Not as massive as the Omaha zoo. So for those looking for a zoo you can enjoy in one day with the family, friends, or anyone that likes the zoo, then the Denver zoo is where you should go!

Visited with family in mid-July 2018. It was a good experience. Drop-off and parking were easy. There were plenty of displays to interest our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. Zoo is quite large but seemed to be easy to see nearly all in about 4 hours. Plenty of viewing and resting areas. Shows were not very crowded. Prices in shops were reasonable.

This zoo is just overcrowded and half the exhibits have no animals present because they give the animals the choice to be outside..which is a fairly respectable thing sept for they have no way to view the animals inside and the animals are always inside.

Many shows and exhibits were closed, with no notifications made for the public till you were in the zoo waiting in line or at the door. Cheyenne Mountain zoo is so much more worth it!! We will never visit the Denver zoo again, as this is the 3rd time we have come and many things are closed and or shows not happening. The volunteers are absolutely amazing, telling the kiddos all the facts and funny stories about the animals!

They have done some great things over the last few years. Lots of great exhibits with all the classic animals you love. A great day for families. But they also serve beer and wine so adults can have a great time too!
