Zoos are cool, ill admit seeing animals that dont live around here are pretty cool, but life in cages are bad lives so i cannot and will not approve of zoos, i went for my little cousinbecause shes too inocent to understand the curelty of being caged. Now i know zoos do wildlife conservation and ehat not, but a lot of those animals are not endangered or in threat of being so. Now correct me if im wrong. But that is currently my thoughts on zoos

Great spot to view exciting animals and pass some time while in Denver. Pretty empty during the winter, most outdoor exhibits empty but there's lots to see within the buildings. Lots of construction winter 2019.

There is a ton of construction going, and we did go in January so not many animals were out but I think there zoo and enclosures all could stand a makeover. I didn't get to catch any of the shows, but there were several informative volunteers at some of the exhibits.

We went for my birthday and the ticket booth attendee was very polite and happy to provide me with several coupons and a cute pin to wear. The overall experience was very pleasent with many animals being seen, limited only by our own lack of time management. As the park closes at 5pm, we ended up not seeing everything. At the time of this review there is actually a fair amount of construction going on but I don't think it took away from my overall enjoyment and just shows the amount of care the zoo seems to put into its animals. We finished up with a trip to the souvenir shop and spent a fair amount. A nice tip for those shopping; apparently if you buy a mug you get a free coffee. If you buy anything, they seem to offer the larger plushes behind the checkout counter for a discount

It is time for all of us to visit and step up to help preserve this beautiful Noah's ark of preservation right in our midst... Had a fabulous day there yet also the need for help from everyone!!!

So disappointed! The whole time we spent walking around hoping to see something in the next cage we get there and nope nothing!! Spent $70 to get in and saw 6 animals. All the enclosures we walked up to were empty! My 4 kids were begging to see the tigers, we get over there and not one! Nope they sure weren t watching us! Save your money go to mountains! You will see elk, deer, big horn sheep and a variety of other wild life cost twenty bucks!

I think its definitely worth getting the membership. For two visits for 2 people you pay the membership for 1 complete year. However there was alot of animal's missing. We didnt see tigers, Bears, Linos or polar bears . All in all we had a great time my son loved it. Looking forward to summer walks around the zoo. Tip : take your own lunch, snacks and water. Zoo can be pricy if you want it to be.

Woman working at Kamala cafe was racist and lied to our faces. Half the exhibits were closed. Tiger exhibit was newly open, but only for members. Small enclosures for animals. Will not be supporting this zoo and will be actively advocating for better treatment of its animals.

I would wait until everything is back to normal. There are no shows or demonstrations. If you are taking kids many if the shortcuts of the park are not available and it's one way. This means you're walking the entire zoo. Oddly the petting sting ray exhibit is open but if your kids want to do it, you will be charged for yourself as well even if you have to help kids the whole time. If you're a member it's difficult to get in. Only way to get in is buy tickets. It's still the zoo - wonderful volunteers and lots of animals. This is why it gets the OK rating!

The Denver Zoo is one of the best zoo's I have ever been too. Our kids had a blast ,from the shows to the 4d movie theater as well as terrific food all over the park. We especially loved seeing the new baby lion Too cute. If you are in Denver definitely check it out.

Gets pretty busy when the it starts getting warmer, but it's the perfect place to bring your family. I've gone here since I was a kid and it's only gotten better since then. There's more places to eat throughout the zoo and there's little activities for the kids like the train ride or carousel. Highly recommend going here, just know it's probably gonna be busy if you go during the summer.

I have a love/hate relationship with zoos and have only been to this one during the holiday lights festival, but loved their exhibit of the sealife made from trash in the ocean, really powerful and well done. The zoo is quite big, but the elephant made me a little sad. It just didn't have enough room. The holiday lights were really beautiful and there was a lot of variety, so I highly recommend seeing those.

I love the zoo here in Denver. I have never once had a bad experience here and I have been going here my entire life. I also love the fact that during the off season that thoes who hold a colorado ebt card are able to enjoy the zoo at a discounted price.

This is a wonderful zoo. The animals have large naturalistic enclosures and are well taken care of. Even with the buildings closed and the corona virus restrictions it was a pleasurable well spent afternoon. I plan on visiting again when the buildings reopen.

Awesome zoo! Enough exhibits to spend hours looking at, even with stuff closed because of COVID. They re doing a really good job with distancing and mask enforcement. They had perhaps the best reptile collection I ve ever seen at a zoo. Lots of really unique snakes and frogs.

Zoo is doing a great job of sanitizing and social distancing. You have to take a one way route around and some exhibits are a little hard to see. Always love visiting the animals, but don't like that the sting rays cost an extra $5.

Wow!! This zoo is super cool! Our family bought the year pass, so we can go as often as we like! One of my favorite things about this place is they let the peacocks wander around. Last time we went must have been mating season, because two peacocks were cawing and flashing their feathers at each other. It was awesome! Also there was a funny fish that looks like it has buck teeth. There s tons of variety of animals here, and they all look like they have great habitats. You should definitely go here if you re looking for a fun, new thing to do!

We are first time visitors to the Denver Zoo, coming from San Antonio, TX. We really enjoyed the mix of animals, especially the Great Apes. On our day, many of the animals were active and in view. Be sure to check out the lions and the African wild dogs, whose exhibits are across from each other.

Also, the food options were plentiful and reasonable. The zoo staff and docents were friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a great time. Enjoy.

We love the zoo! Only reason it gets 4 stars and not 5 is because parking is an absolute nightmare, some exhibits need new windows really bad! You can't even see what you're paying to see! And be careful it gets really busy!

Fun

The Denver zoo is great. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 simply because we didn't feel there was the variety we have at home at the Kansas City Zoo. However, the animals at the Denver Zoo were livelier and more energetic than we encounter at many zoos, and the Zoo was very clean as well. Great experience.

I go here about every other Friday with my daughter and it is great! With so many animals it surprises me how clean everything is. The people who work here are very friendly and the exhibits are beautiful. This place is wonderful and if you have not been yet i would highly recommending giving it a shot.

Visited on a Tuesday, AD (After Distancing) and had a great time. Staggered 15 min entry, so get those tickets early! Two weeks out, all morning time slots were already sold. Indoor exhibits were closed, but we are grateful they are working hard to make it work. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Lots to see and experience, great exercise. Family-oriented activity, lots of families, all ages. Lots of opportunities for photographers to take pictures. Sometimes, the only camera-worthy view I was able to get of the animal was through a window. I was surprised when I took some photos and the shots were fine.

LOVE this zoo. We came from San Antonio and we certainly didn't dislike that zoo but this one is really on a whole different plane. Incredibly expansive, animals seem well cared for, and the volunteers are really exceptional. I also highly recommend the Christmas light event as its exceedingly beautiful.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! We say a llama being moved across the zoo by leads when we visited. That was pretty nifty.
Penguins and great apr exhibits are always the best attractions here.

These animals are not used to the heat. Many were hiding. The zoo does a great job of getting them in public view by having food treats stashed and interactive times for them. Funny the polar bear was out but none of the other bears. So tons of the zoo are under construction but most of it is easily accessible. The monkey and bird enclosures are very open, monkeys can climb right over you. Parking is free and they serve beer and wine two other pluses. Besides some enclosures have indoor viewing areas which help you see the animals such as the gorillas on a 90 degree day
