Animals share habitats in some places. It is big enough that even with a lot of people it doesn't feel crowded. Plus, in October they have boo at the zoo with lights for two weekends. If you become a member you can get discounts for special events. There is also a carousel and train which you can ride.

This rating is really for the fall. We went last Tuesday October 2nd. We took our 14 months grandchild. The zoo has to do repairs and upgrades and apparently this is the time they do it. If we would have come in the evening for Boo at the Zoo it probably would have been fun. We also went around noon. There were very few animals out, lots of construction. If it hadn't been for those crazy seals, it really would have been a bust. We felt for $34 it wasn't money well spent. My recommendation is go during the Spring and Summer when the zoo is prepared for lots of people, unless you're going to an event.

Friendly staff and volunteers. Easy to navigate. Clean exhibits. Animal rotation and city employee reports provide the notion that the zoo functions as a care center for the animals instead of a jail.

The best place to relax, enjoy and educate our children about animals.
The place was clean and environmental, there are more things you can do or work with your student if you a teacher on a field trip. I have to say Denver Zoo is one of the best places I've ever been to. I would love to recommend this to everyone who loves animals.

Denver zoo is very nice. Most of the animals seem happy and it has a nice layout. However there seems to always be construction going on and on the weekends the parking lots get pretty packed.

I feel bad for the hippo. It s pool is the size of him and he doesn t have room to swim around. Hopefully they realize this and fix it. Also the polar bears look pretty sad most days.

This place has it all. Animals in cages sufficiently large enough not to evoke that "we have taken them from their habitat and shoved them into a cage" guilt, informational plaques that tell you everything you need to know - including how much a large animal of that species weighs, and gluten free food. We were a little worried about the seals though. Their cage seemed disproportionately small compared to the cages of others. It made us a little sad.

The zoo itself was wonderful, but the food lines move painstakingly slow. 28 minutes in line to get a water (behind 5 people), later in the day another 19 minutes to get drinks (behind 3 people). I was definitely prepared for patience in long lines, but this was just crazy. All lines were for snacks/beverages only, so they should ve been faster moving. Our lunchtime food (both for the line and to receive the food) took significantly less time than it took just to get our drinks. This lowered the rating to 4 stars.

This zoo is pretty nice for being in the middle of the city. It has a good variety of animals and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's pretty easy terrain and they have wagon rentals for a good price. There are plenty of places to escape the sun and plenty of places to have a seat. Their food and drink prices are on the higher side. Overall it was a great experience for the whole family.

Been to a lot of Zoos and this is probably in my top two or three. There's a wide array of animals, the walkways are wide and it's easy to find your way around. Many of the exhibits were well kept or recently updated, I greatly recommend the tiger exhibit and the elephant exhibit! I was lucky enough to get to hear one of the tigers roaring - much like a cat that wanted attention! Food and souvenirs were expensive but they always are at Zoos, so try to bring your own food!

Great place to take the family. There are a ton of animals and exhibits to see but our favorites were the sea lions. They put on quite a show and were worth the wait. Overall 10/10 experience and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Animals are well taken care of at the zoo. The animals were more active in the morning before it come hot outside. Concessions were great. Love being a member and supporting the animals.

I've been visiting this zoo for 20 years and I still love it. There's always something new to see. I think the Denver Zoo does a nice job providing safe, spacious enclosures. There's also a big emphasis on conservation and education. The staff is kind and helpful as well. Thank you for a beautiful day!

Be sure and get here early so parking is easier and the heat doesn't slow you down. Loved the roaming peacocks and seeing the monkeys released from their cages to go to the island for food. My grand daughter enjoyed the train ride and the carousel. The bird house was interesting and the sloth is located there. Will have to go back to see the rest of the area since we only stayed two hours.

One of the country's great zoos, and a good destination any time of year. It can be SUPER crowded on weekends, getting there early beats the rush. And if you go at least twice a year, a membership is likely worth it.

They are doing a great job managing things with Covid. But don't forget to book tickets ahead of time! (Also, they are not accepting cash at concessions, and I assume that policy also affects the gift shop and ticket counter.)

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Entire park is one way right now, with everything well-marked to make sure you see what you want to see.

The zoo is well-maintained, clean, and - most importantly - the animals seem happy and well cared for.

Well managed and fair value. The recent construction was done nicely and we've enjoyed the special and after hours activities. The staff we've encountered are knowledgeable, passionate, and nice to talk to.

This is an excellent zoo. Lovely, mature landscaping with big shade trees, tons of things tailored to children, often babies to see. They have done a very nice job making attractive exhibits and it seems like nice spaces for the animals. My kids always have a great time here.

Get the souvenir beer if you're going to have two or more beers, much cheaper. You can bring in your own picnic lunch, which is nice. The food is decent - burgers, pizza, barbecue. The beer is excellent Coors Light and selections from Great Divide. One full-price adult ticket is $20.

This is a great place to go with the family! Everytime my family has made the trip to come to the zoo, it has been totally worth it. The food is a little pricey but it's very good! Make sure you plan ahead to spend almost an entire day here. There's a lot to see!
