I love this zoo. They are updating exhibits all the time to improve the habitat for the animals and the visitora' experience.
I love this zoo. They are updating exhibits all the time to improve the habitat for the animals and the visitora' experience.
This place is awesome. They have a large variety of exhibits and are family/accessibility friendly. Be prepared to spend a good part of your day looking at everything--this place is huge!
Gigantic, clean, and well-organized. This zoo was a total pleasure.
Nice flowing zoo, a lot of exhibits had nothing to show it still a great zoo
Loved it! Definitely a place to visit while in Colorado. I had such a wonderful experience feeding the giraffes.
I love going there every time I get to go. Such an amazing place to relief stress. Also a wonderful place to take pictures if you are a beginner or a professional.
It was fun considering it was timed due to COVID-19.
Good walk, nice place to enjoy with kids. Adults $20
Kids under 11 $14
This zoo was a lot bigger than I expected. The exhibits are very cool. It's obvious that the animals are all very happy here. I wish there were more bathrooms and I wish everything was stroller acessible but otherwise I was highly satisfied with my family outing here. Another bonus, free parking and you can bring outside food and drinks.
One of the best zoo's around. Recently went to zoo lights. Plan on going later rather than earlier to truly appreciate the displays as it gets VERY crowded.
I love going here w my grandkids. Staff is friendly, helpful. My little service dog Cinnamon is always welcome altho there are places she can't go, which they outline on the map for me.
What's funny is the monkeys for the most part really like Cinnamon. Now I forgot their name but there's these little ones that run from people but when she comes they all come down & talk w her. The same w the macaques (I think that's their name), & the male silverback. When he sees her he looks at her, looks like he says something to her. People are amazed.
It's fun, u the train & merry-go-round are neat for the kids. It would be neat if the train went all around the zoo. But it's ok.
I also like the fact you can bring in your own food & drinks, unlike Elitch's.
Love love love. Have had a membership for three years now. I visit the zoo at least twice a week during the summer. You can basically see a different part of the zoo every time you go there. It's large enough that members can go multiple times and not be bored.
This zoo was amazing! Traveling through Denver and stopped at this gem. Their elephant exhibit was incredible. I love how knowledge all of the zoo keepers and staff are. The animals had amazing enclosures and excellent care plans that the keepers would explain at request. See the elephants!!
Gorgeous lights.. but very few furry friends... Dress warm bring extra money for drinks and 4d movie was also pretty cool..
Love this zoo! Can't wait for warmer weather to go back again.
Not the best zoo we've been to. Arrived at 9am to beat the heat and lots of animals were not out in their enclosures. A few of the enclosures had no animals, others only had one and a fair amount were under construction. Zoo seemed more interested in opening the shops to sell items than getting animals out for public viewing.
The Denver zoo never disappoints! My kids love going there. We were fortunate to have great weather on spring break and a lot of the animals were out. Dobby the baby giraffe was adorable! Tamale the baby cape buffalo and the baby gorilla were also adorable! I would give 5 stars if they had better parking but other than that it's a great place to go with the family!
Crowded!! It was My First time Visiting the Zoo!! Nice that they Offer Free Days! We used it to Celebrate my Grandson's Birthday!
I'm not a fan of animals being enclosed, they always seem isolated and alone. Especially the Elephants. The animals are well fed, the aquatic displays are great and there is always beautiful birds running around the grounds. For a zoo its nice.
Love our zoo membership and all its perks. Great family place.
zoo lights was great. you can tell lots of work went into the design and setup. be ready for a good long stroll but well worth it.
Download the Denver Zoo app. Very useful app, let s you know the names of the animals and the times of the shows.
The wife flew in from LA to spend her birthday with us at the Denver Zoo.
Weather was great.Day was perfect.Birthday girl even got in for free....
Make sure if you visit Denver you should go to the Denver Zoo. Their staff is amazing is very informative you learn a lot. It's fun for the kids. You can see the animals very close the shows are very informative and very fun to see.
Zoo lights was a lot of fun! A lot of beautiful lights, a ride on the carousel, fresh made warm doughnuts & fun light up toys! Of course the best part is sharing it with friends!
Great time with our grandson. He knows his way around this place...lol
The last two time I went the animals where either not there or sleep, Lol
I love the Denver Zoo, I recommend this place for everyone!
Fantastic annual event that keeps getting better every year!
I've been to my share of zoos and this one is tight up there with the best, very fun time!
The lights are great this year. Our kids really enjoyed it.
Loved it. Cold but you can't control that! Lights are amazing!
Really pretty zoo but lots of construction going on. Definitely missed seeing some animals because of it. Really nice elephant area. Loved that the lions were right at the entry. We enjoyed the zoo over all and added one more zoo to our US zoos seen list.
Great experience. Went early and got to watch feedings and talk to lots of helpers.
Despite the parking, which can at times be a challenge, this is truly one of the best outings a family can take in Denver. Located near city park, and next to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Zoo is always working to provide the best experience for visitors as well as its animals. With educational moments aplenty, as well as spots to simply sit down and enjoy nature. A must for visitors as well as natives and transplants.
Lots to do in addition to learning about all the animals. We visit all the time and always find something new.
Great place, so clean and organized. Beautiful animals and it shows they are well taken care of.
It's pretty big for a zoo I had never heard of before. Just make sure to go when it is cooler. When it's hot, outside is unbearable, and inside is worse because of all the people.
Seems like a nice place! We only went once, but it was really big! Even in the winter the animals were pretty active.
Always a joy to go but prices are higher and higher
My family loves coming here, always see something new. If you be patient what seems like an empty exhibit could suddenly have a resident
There is a lot of construction going on but plenty to see. All the Halloween decorations are awesome.
Its ridiculous that I had to wait 30 minutes for ketchup
Nice enough zoo. Found it easy to get around once inside. Parking was free nearby in various lots within the park. Admission prices seemed a bit expensive. Was rather crowded for a Sunday morning.
I recommend going to the zoo early in the morning if you're going to go on the weekend, me and the wife and kid couldn't find a parking today and we've found the Central Park right next to the zoo which worked out pretty good so I trip wasn't a total waste of time...
Such an incredible zoo, you are right up on the animals and you get to see a lot of awesome animal interactions up close!
This zoo is beautiful! So many animals that are not in other zoos.
Love the zoo. I really work people would stop feeding the geese. But you took those signs down.
Christmas lights were very pretty. A good date night with my wife.
Who doesn't enjoy at the zoo?? The Denver zoo is a great place to take the family and spend the day! They have multiple Free Days throughout the year and virtual tours now during COVID19.
You can become a zoo member and receive nice perks. (Free entry, early entry, discounts and more!!)
Such a great zoo! Lots of animals looking comfortable. We went during a holiday but still feel like we got a chance to see everything up close! I would recommend going and would go again myself!
A lot of stuff to do. Plenty to eat. Even though there wasn't any parking it didn't feel crowded. Plenty of activities for the family. Need more than a day to do everything.
Great Zoo! They are continuely updating and improving the exhibits and the grounds. There are great staff and keepers available throughout the zoo. Plenty of parking. Get there early if you want to park close to the entrance.
Super busy for a Friday afternoon! There was so much noise, all of the animals were hiding, ha ha! Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit! We are members, so we know what's there It was nice to spend the day in the sunshine!
My little one's, my honey and I had a nice time, we got to see alot of the animals, it was a free day , so there where a few empty exhibits but that was expected. All around a nice visit, a good learning experience for my youngest!
Loved it my 2 year old and 10 month old had a blast
We've been season pass holders for 5 years and love the zoo. It's well priced, clean and enjoyable to spend the day here.
EDIT 8/2020 It's a crazy year and the zoo is managing to keep us entertained. Lots of zoo babies and Lego animals. I love this place.
Always a treat. Denver Zoo never fails to have something amazing happen. Today we got a treat from the hippo. Some say the animals don't have enough room. The zoo is over 80 acres and practices animal conservation. Not saying there isn't room for improvement there is always room for improvement. This is a great zoo. They serve great food too. Reasonably priced food. I renewed my yearly membership and have started doing the animal experiences. Wow. I will be doing them all. Not only do you get special experiences with the animals you get to support the zoo even more.
I was so excited to take my 5 year old grandson to the Denver Zoo during our vacation back to Denver. When I walked into the front gate it was like I was transported back to my childhood. I have been coming to the zoo since then and when we had our son I spent many of days there with him. Now to walk back into the zoo with my grandson was fantastic. As I walked around I could see new areas but to my surprise there were still some areas and structures from when I was little. I took pictures of my grandson in places on things that his dad was on when he was his age. The Zoo has always been clean and everyone was so nice. For it being in the middle of summer it was very pleasant with lots of shade and areas to cool off with. The food and drinks were as expected when you pay inside the park but at least we didn't have to leave.
I was so disappointed, I think Denver Zoo can do so much better.
It's a big zoo, travelling with a 18 month old took the whole day to see everything the zoo has to offer. We had a great time. Having some more shaded areas would be nice.
Love this zoo! Even in the winter it is worth it to go. The animals are active and close! Great for families.
A sunny day March 21... all in all a good experience. HOWEVER, this is such a pricey excursion. I adult and 1 child = 31.00. How can an average family with more children every expect to enjoy this? I find it typical of Denver activities in general... events are out of the range of the average family. Geared toward upper middle class...
Love everything about the zoo except the parking! Parking is horrendous. Best to go during the week and early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
It's an ok zoo, one good walk around is all you need. Took about and hour & half walk through entire place.
This is a very large zoo with a great variety of animals, but it does not allow you to feed the giraffes like the Cheyenne mountain zoo does. I really enjoyed my time here with all the amazing creatures.
Today wasn't so good. Too many animals were off exhibit or the entire area was closed. Lots of construction underway. Not sure when it will be in better shape. We did get to see the new lion cub.
