Denver Zoo Review

They have done an excellent job making the best out of the pandemic situation.

Love love the zoo. I've been to several zoos across the country and this is one is at the top of my list

It's alright kind of hard to judge because of the effects due to the virus

Could go here 3 full days and I still feel I could see more

Overall the Denver Zoo was a fun zoo though it felt like a lot of the bigger exhibits didn't have animals in them. I like the "one way" path which was added to increase social distance space. There were several guests without masks on so it would have been nice if there was more staff to enforce that.

Such a great zoo!! It's absolutely huge, so be prepared to walk...and walk....and walk...get those steps in! So many wonderful ways to interact with the animals and to see them up close. Best zoo I've been to by far. Truly doesn't feel like a "zoo". Except the other people - LOL - it can get really crowded.

Great day at the zoo. Felt perfectly safe with Covid precautions.

Great place to hang around with family. There are even open space to sit and relax. Kids would enjoy a lot and tickets price is moderate

Went on a free day, so it was packed. Clean environment. Staff is friendly and has a great sense of humor.

Denver Zoo made the list of top 10 zoos in America to visit. Once you get there, it's easy to see why it's on the list. The zoo is very nicely laid-out, well kept, and very clean. There are many animals to look at, and some of them you can get up and close. It's a great place for children or to just take long walks to enjoy the animals and the serenity. The facilities are excellent, with restrooms and restaurants scattered around. It is also wheelchair-friendly... in my case that means it's easy to get kids around in strollers. We found the staff very knowledgeable and friendly.

I love this place! I'm already a huge fan of zoos but I felt this one was by far one of the best ones. Google said people only spend "25 minutes here" but that is SO untrue! I ended up spending about 2 and a half hours here and I didn't even get to see everything. I would definitely recommend and come back!

It was fun to go to a zoo in a new city, but this zoo seemed cramped and a bit over run compared to others. This might just be due to Covid though!

Had a great time! It was really nice to see all the different animals. Wish certain things weren't closed within the zoo, so that my spouse and I could've enjoyed the whole Denver Zoo experience! Overall, We loved it. We always stop at the zoo of the cities we visit

Nice place weather was beautiful so a lot of the animals were out instead of hiding.

I ve been to zoos around the world and this one stands out. What s great about it is that it s always evolving and the animals look healthy.

We love the zoo. We end up going a few times a year and our favorite area is the elephant. Its always clean and I enjoy the food truck over by the bird exhibits!

The zoo it's self is fantastic, but I don not recommend driving yourself, take a bus or an Uber because parking is a nightmare due to the zoo's popularity during the summer.

We pretty much always take our visitors to the zoo. It's big enough to take the day, but not too big to miss half of it. It's a great place. Not always cheap, but it's awesome.

My family and I had the best day at the Denver Zoo! They have really great exhibits, especially the elephant exhibit. When we went we were able to watch two of the elephants play and get a little rowdy with one another for quite awhile.

The Denver Zoo never disappoints! Even today, 25 degrees and snow, but they still put on all the Boo at the Zoo activities they promised.

An amazing place for families to visit, all the animals were out and they definitely looked very well taken care of. Beautiful zoo in Colorado highly recommend taking your family or loved ones out for a visit here.

Always a great day... cant wait for some of the exhibits to be completed though.

Unfortunately the red pandas and polar bears are no longer there, but Denver zoo does an excellent job with enrichment and appropriate enclosures.

The new Asian exhibit is awesome! There are a ton of different animals. The best part are the lines they have for the monkies that go over the pedestrian walkways so they're hanging out right above you!

Extremely disappointed with this Zoo. Most animals were not out and a lot of the exhibits were vacant. Wouldn t recommend going there. I d recommend going south to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo over Denver.

It's great as far as zoos are concerned the animals seem well taken care of and the facility is huge

Who knew but even in the winter the Denver Zoo is a great pace to take the family. I really thought the animals would inside and not moving but it was the complete opposite. A lot of the animals were out enjoying the sun.

It's fun for the whole family! A great place to learn, and explore. We enjoy taking a pic nic.

All the animals here looked happy and the staff here seemed to be very in loved with the animals, they even named them. I'm very happy with this zoo. Totally recommended to go.

Probably the worse zoo I have ever been to
Took over 2 1/2 hours to park. Exhibits were not impressive. Sorry I wasted my time

Although a little expensive, great experience! Great conservation efforts and shows. They are working hard to use less plastic, most silverware is compostable, and most containers are recyclable. Primate exhibit is fun, and elephant show is awesome!

Beautiful habitats!! Not very many animals out and about. Trails of zoo does not flow easily. I think it was overpriced

We come here roughly 4-5 times a year and we always enjoy it. Its still one of the best ways to get out of the house and spend time with the family. Parking is really stressful on the weekends of you don't come early enough. Always take that into consideration when planning a visit as they also only stay open until 5pm as well.

The zoo has been improving its facilities over the last few years. The new tiger exhibit is looking good.

I never get too old to go to the zoo and the Denver Zoo does not disappoint. It is huge and there are so many different animal exhibits to look at.

Always have a great time at the zoo! The staff is always friendly and helpful when you need something. There is a lot of different animal exhibits throughout the zoo and they are always working on improving the exhibits and guest experience!

Great zoo. Attended the Boo at the zoo and was amazed at the level of attention to detail that was taken to decorate for the event. They also had truck or treat stations all over the zoo. I also appreciate hope the try to educate visitors on animal conservation.

I've been going to the Denver Zoo since I was a kid and each time there really is something new. I miss the red pandas, but I was excited to see the larger habitats they are building for all of their animals. I know that for many animals, the larger the better, and I like that they are making strides toward helping the animals be more comfortable. I vote for larger feline and bear enclosures next!!

We went in afternoon and there was not very much to see. To much construction and cause of Covid-19 not enough open.

Early mornings in winter are great! No kids, and lots of animals out!

We are members here and go often. It is getting busier and busier but they take great care of the animals and do a lot for conservation and education.

The zoo is always a great place to go. Although I hate seeing animals secluded to incredibly small spaces, they are treated well and taken care of.

These are some of the best lights the zoo has done in the last 4 years that I've seen them.

Let's just put it this way, my kid loves the zoo! A little smaller than Brookfield zoo in chicago where we are from but it's set up really nice! Love the penguins!

Great Oasis in the middle of the city. The kiddos love it.

Had an excellent experience. Customer was great and they had a ton of volunteers showing different items in the various areas of the Zoo. They had a few shows with the animals. Definitely a great Zoo to take your kids too.

The denver zoo is incredible. Tons of animals amd events, good beer, absolutely amazing. You could spend all day there, easily. Worth every penny. The staff is fantastic too

Well kept zoo! Animals feel as happy as they can be for being in a zoo. Bring a water bottle!
They were awesome about educating everyone about the dangers if unethically sourced Palm Oil during the Elephant show. Then about Recycling in seal show, recyclling/compost boxes everywhere.
Reuse, water fill stations. Tofu!!

Its great i loved the frogs andthe snowleopard I also got a little snow leopard glass figure for my suvinoier shelve

Wish they would do more shows other zoos in the big cities have free shows that entertain but more importantly educate the young and old about the efforts the zoo makes to help the animals both in the zoo and in the wild

This zoo has traits of a small amusement park in the holiday season due to the lightings on the trees and trendy music and decorations. It also offer a train ride circulating the zoo to give the kids a nice zoo overview. It has a carousel as well. The annual pass for a family (2 adults plus unlimited number of children) is about 155 USD, which is a good deal. The aquarium/tropical animals building inside the zoo is very attractive and comfortable to visit in the cold winter time since it has a slightly elevated temperature and moisture for humans and animals alike to enjoy.

Never a dull moment from the moment you step through the gates. It s so well kept up and the knowledge of the keepers helps you to really emerge yourself into each exhibit. Always a blast.

Didn t get to see the inside of the Zoo. Spent 20 minutes disputing my AZA membership with two very rude individuals, Evan A. And Tony S.! Unprofessional!

Great Zoo over all friendly staff. With wide veritie of animals to see. Many food and beer options throughout the zoo. Many interactive activities for both kids and adults.

This was the saddest zoo I've been to EVER. The animals weren't kept correctly, looked sad even.. I'm from New York and our Bronx Zoo is 100% better, especially when it comes to our animals. (More free, well fed and groomed) Won't be coming back here again. (It was too sad to see) :( *A friend of a friend wrote a complaint to the zoo and I'll be doing the same thing.

It felt clean, not too crowded and well paved around the animals. It took me about an hour to walk through with 2 littles. Weather was perfect today for it!
