Nice zoo. Lots of cool exhibits and it's conveniently located in the middle of city park!

Lots of fun. Wish the aquarium was better. But all in all a good day.
Excellent day out. Really good with lots of varied animals in good condition
Good place, went for the New Year's Eve special and the temps were in the negatives. Apparently my phone has a minimum operating temp. Not their fault, just sharing.
I like the gorrillas though, they are really intelligent.
It was actually a lot bigger than I had anticipated! Some of the exhibits seemed too tiny for the animals inside, so that was a bit concerning, but other than that it was a pleasant experience.
It was definitely a lot bigger than I thought I thought it was going to be. It was a lot of fun, and the food options were great.
As far as zoos go this one is pretty awesome. Lots of diverse animals and shows to learn more about the animals. Great up close looks and glass viewing areas. The winter light show is pretty awesome.
Accessible parking was great, very convenient to the zoo entrance. Landscaping is well done. The only drawback was that of all of the animal viewing, there were very few animals to see. Most of the enclosures were empty. It was not a hot day so if the animals were inside for some reason there is no way for viewing them. Rather disappointing.
This zoo is great I love to go during the school season I can take in some peace and learn as well
Need more food for humans!! Very cool exhibits. The cheetah seemed very distressed, though...
Denver Zoo is wonderful. It's a very large zoo and it has lots of super cool animals, neat animal houses to visit and a great workout while you walk around and see everything. Rather you are a local or a visitor, Denver Zoo is a must see.
I did not go to the zoo today but the last time I was at the zoo it was a very nice time it was a lot of fun for the kids in the family a nice place to visit will visit there again
Awesome place to go. Lots of animals and a very great place to take your family for the day.
Palm oil endangering elephants, but sold at zoo!
I went to the zoo last weekend with my family. We went to elephant passage and listened to a man talk about the elephants. One thing he discussed was how palm oil factories were destroying the habitats of elephants and putting their lives in danger. He went on and on saying how we could do our part by not purchasing items with palm oil in it. He even told us to download an app that scans products and tells you whether or not they have palm oil in it.
After listening to this, we got a snack at the zoo. We got pretzels and nacho cheese sauce. Lo and behold we came to find out that palm oil was the 3rd ingredient in the cheese sauce. I am so appalled that the zoo would sell something with palm oil in it, and tell people not to buy items with palm oil. We even scanned it with the app and it did not show up as animal friendly.
How hypocritical! I love this zoo and always have. However, my view has changed. I would like to give them 5 stars, but after that experience I just can't.
I'll go back to the zoo when they get rid of any items containing palm oil. I cannot support a company that is hypocritical and in their own words essentially endangering animals.
Excellent Zoo with tons of acreage and lots of exhibits.
I just kinda walked around. At least they take care of the animals
It was just hot and there wasn't a lot of animals out, and there's just a bunch of enclosures being built. One thing I do have to say is the staff was very helpful and kind. If you wanted to know where a animal was or what its behavior is like then they could tell you. The feeding are cool and so are there indoor places. I reccomend going early so you can see the animals moving and everything instead of sleeping. Also stay hydrated and there's lots of shade and benches if you need to rest.
One of the best zoos I have been. My kids were very impressed.
We went for zoo lights opening weekend for 2019 in a special event. It was only OK this year. The lights are a lot less than before. The elephant area was barely lit with lanterns, no holiday lights There was nothing along the back section the is usually so beautiful. Many of the color combinations (ie, on s single tree) were simply bad. There were a lot of broken fixtures and light strands throughout the place. Plus, the animal areas that were supposed to be open were accidentally locked. Plus, the train broke down right as were were about to board. We never got our ride. Overall, it lacked the normal charm and magical experience of zoo lights. The night earns one star, but we still like the zoo in general.
Fun zoo...some exhibits are new and very well done like the elephants and primates...some exhibits are older and less interesting but I'm guessing the plan is a multi year upgrade. Still fun especially with young kids. We went for breakfast with Santa which was fun and once breakfast and pictures were done we had access to the entire park.
Love going to the Denver Zoo!!! Went to their new ENCHANTED HOLLOWS, they did a good job at putting this spooky pathway together!!! Once your done walking the path almost the entire zoo is open to walk, they have tons of carved PUMPKINS that are lite up and they had a few animals that you could see!!! Good time and inexpensive
It's great zoo. We've been to many across the country and it's a good zoo with good spaces for the animals. It's clean and well organized. I took off a star because it's sooo expensive compared to other zoos. (And a FOTZ from another zoo only saves $2/ticket). Free/close parking is nice though.
I'm giving it a 3 and not a 1 because of old time memories with my aunt here... over the years it's turned a bit trashy in my opinion I don't think I'll ever go back (at least anytime soon).
Had a great time; even got to see the cheetah! Feeding the lorikeets was fun! Would go back.
The zoo lights were very pretty. The staff everywhere were helpful and polite.
Would have been nice to see more exhibits, but Covid doesn't play well with others, so we had to make do. The staff were pleasant, the animals lovely, and we'll definitely go back when it's safer to do so.
Lots of baby animals. Very nice variety of creatures too.
Zoo lights was a beautiful evening of family and fun.
I love the zoo, my only qualm is the crowds in the summers...parking can be impossible to find, they should charge for parking, or increase rates on busy days like Sundays and holidays; then use the extra money to build a giant parking garage.
My family and I love coming to the zoo. Seeing and learning about all the animals. Perfect for a family outing!
We love visiting the zoo and see what the animals are upto at each visit!
I was expecting a larger zoo for such a big city but this one was small enough to get through in an afternoon. Not a bad thing though, had a good time and their was enough shade and indoor exhibits that the heat of the summer wasn't too much of an issue!
Viewing of animals but lots of construction upset polar bears not there
Every enclosure says more about who sponsored the enclosure than it does the animals inside. Not a single name of any of the animals in each area. Little info about the species. Huge walls of names of rich people on every corner though.
I feel like I can't get a proper review on this place as half of the place was closed because of the snow, but it was a really great experience. Got to see the sea lions extremely active, and loud lol.
Always a great time! Plan to spend the whole day! Bring snacks and water!
Who doesn't love the zoo? Denver's zoo is located in the heart of downtown Denver, right next to City Park and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The Zoo has made some very high-profile renovations to it's facility, making it better than ever, and the Zoo Lights in December are not to be missed!
Clean but extremely spaced out. You'd have to visit several times to see everything. No organization or route to follow. Decent things and animals to see though. Mixed feelings here.
Very nice zoo. Lions are gorgeous. Makes me wish they were free though.
Lots of construction right now, but the new bear exhibit is very nice.
A great place to go in the warmer months, but beware when it is cold- not only are many of the exhibits closed but you won't see a lot of animals. It's still a nice walk if you dress warm though and you'll get to see a few of them if you are patient.
In warmer weather it is a much better experience though. They do have a good variety of animals including tigers, komodo dragons, hippos, penguins, and even seals..just to name a few.
If you live in Colorado use your food stamp card for a dollar a person Omission except May June July are blackouts
Fun and got to see many of the animals and new habitats. Went on a Wednesday at opening and it wasn't crowded at all.
My husband and I loved it! I love the layout. It's SOOOO CLEAN! The landscaping to match the animals natural habitat is unbelievably beautiful and throughout the Zoo grounds. Had as much nice experience looking at landscape and the animals!
Good Zoo, its not over crowded. Best food out of the dozens i have been.
Love the animals! Good selection to view, and one really great polar bear. My only beef is that some of the animals dont seem to have enough space. I know its a zoo and can only be so comfortable for them but that leopard looks suffocated. Some of the snakes too. If there is a reason they have such little space, maybe post a sign about it.
We went the friday after Thanksgiving and even though it was cold and snowy, they still had the pool heated for the seals so they were out and about.
The giraffes and elephants were always a fun area to be since they were inside.
The best though was their inside enclosure for the snakes, frogs, fish and other animals. It was a fun experience.
Also, peacocks roam everywhere so that was cool too.
What a fantastic zoo! Large, sprawling place with so many fantastic displays, exhibits and interactions. Oh, and local beer on draught throughout the park too!
While I am sure intentions are good, and the elephants had a larger than normal space to roam for a zoo, the spaces for the larger animals are generally far too small. Sadly, the polar bear was pacing back and forth against the glass in his small enclosure. This is a sign of stress in zoo animals. If you are in the area and have time, visiting and supporting The Wild Animal Sanctuary was much more worthwhile.
I love the zoo but sometimes I feel sad these creatures are locked in cages etc.
I'd love it more without my kids, LOL, HAHA. . We had fun , staff is great
Denver Zoo is one of the best zoos I've ever been to. Not too big or overwhelming for my two year old but you can still spend an entire day here. The staff puts a lot of care into both customer happiness and animal happiness. Great food, snacks and even beer! Lots for families or a grownup date!
The Denver Zoo is Awsome. It's one of the best zoo's I've been too. Primate panorama was cool, but the Gorillas weren't out. Tropical Discovery is always nice to walk through. The best was the new exhibit for the Tigers. They built elevated walk ways for the tigers to walk above the crowd. We paid for an Annual pass for one person and a guest for $80.00. There is plenty of free parking in their parking lot and deck. And in December they have an event called zoo lights.
I can't say enough about this zoo. These were easily the happiest animals I have ever seen, and everyone was in good spirits. I come from the Philadelphia area, and the animals at that zoo are just miserable and grey. Not here at the Denver Zoo! The otters were my favorite, running back and forth like some wiry wind up doll. Ah, those little furry tubes are just too adorable. We watched a sea lion show featuring Duke and Nick and boy oh boy I have quite a few new favorite animals! Good for you, Denver Zoo.
Visiting Denver for the first time and thought we would check out the zoo since it was a nice day out. We thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely recommend.
The zoo is a great place to visit. Its located in the city park of Denver. Took about 2 hours to strategically explore.
Not the best zoo in the world, but fun if you have small children
So many animals! Super fun for our family! Some of the exhibits were being cleaned though so we didn't see those animals which was too bad. The fish and snakes were especially impressive
Been coming here since I was a kid. Has changed alot but for the better. Bring my kids often as I get an annual family pass. Newer exhibits and added learning adventures like animal prints in the concrete to added playing areas
Personally, the best zoo I have been to. Was impressed with some of the animal habitats as well as the variety of animals. The animals were also out and playful during my visit, so I may be biased. Also talked with a few of the zookeepers, and was very fond of them. As a conservationist and animal lover, Im glad such good people were caring for the animals.
Awesome place to spend the day, just don't go on a free day, unless you can walk, take a bus or anything other than drive and have to park. Free day parking is a horrid experience, seriously, don't do it. Otherwise it's a lot of fun, employees are friendly, animals are interesting, zoo is well laid-out and maps are provided. Multiple cafes have various cuisines which is fun and offers a lot of choices. The train and the carousel are affordable and always a hit with my kid!
For animal lovers you will love the zoo !! Perfect to spend with family and kids, the elephant show is soooo cool
My son and I love going here during all four seasons of the year!!!
Always a great place to take the kids or come alone. The demonstrations are educational as well as fun. Sure has improved since I was a kid!
My first time exploring Denver Zoo and I loved it! Elephants have always been my favorite, but the cat walk took the cake.
Nice... Due to the situation all the indoor exhibits are close. Very organized entrance and mark path.
I love the zoo I say everyone should go there make sure you can make a day of it lots to see and great if you can take small breaks alot of walking g my kids love it as well they hated to leave
