It was covid time (6/30/2020 @345p) and the staff was friendly and making sure social distancing was in place. Everything had signage of high touch areas (meaning you probably DON'T wanna touch) and sanitizer for your hands. You are kinda corralled through the park. My advice would be go earlier than later. The baby lions ect are going to go to 'bed' at 230pm. So many times i quoted the line from Jurassic park about the lack of animals on the tour. I got some good shots and it was better than I expected. I just wish they didn't put the baby animals to bed so soon. #LetThemStayUpLate

Great place to bring the family and spend a few hours. You can bring your own snacks or grab food in the park. There is a pretty wide variety of animals amd they have been making improvements to the habitats and educational elements throughout the zoo. Consider buying an annual pass - well worth the cost for a family.

Great Zoo! The layout helps disperse the crowd so that you're rarely feeling overwhelmed. Animal enclosures seem large and well maintained. It will be exciting to see the new veterinarian centre once it is completed!! Definitely recommend!!

Pro: Online discount for tickets is great since you also can skip the line. It's a full $5 per adult!

Con: Parking is now extremely limited with the ongoing construction. There is parking down the hill in the city park but can add a mile or so onto your walking (you can't cut through the city green houses or tennis courts, back to the main road is your only bet)

The zoo seems very focused on the care and welfare of their animals, who in turn seem to be very content. They provide big spaces based on the needs of their animals, and are currently building new habitats to continue to further accommodate. Furthermore, the sights and atmosphere are wonderful, and really pull you into the culture of each region that the animals are from. Lastly, they also have an assortment of gluten free options at many of their eateries, including quality entrees. Overall, I highly recommend a visit. Its very worth it!

This place has always been one of my favorite places to go to growing up. With all the changes w COVID it actually made the zoo even better. Its peaceful with out the large crowds..

It's a good zoo. It isn't the best zoo ever but if you go at the right times, you can see cool things like penguin and hippo feedings. They also have presentations the zoo keepers give where you can learn more about certain animals (today we learned about the condors) and can even ask them questions. There are some exhibits that are empty, sometimes unexpectedly. We visited the pachyderm area and it was empty today. There's no real order to the exhibits so a map is helpful which they give at the gates. They have a carousel and train rides which are free for kids 2 and under, $2 for members and $3 for non members. There are plenty of bathrooms throughout along with signs so they aren't hard to find. Fun visit and worth a trip overall

*many of the exhibits aren't very wheelchair accessible which makes it hard for strollers as well. The doors aren't automated (no button) in most

Great large zoo, more expensive than other zoos. The food is some of the best amusement/zoo food I've ever had tho. Needs more river otters and larger space for the big cats and bears.

Had a wide selection of animals. We re from Oklahoma and it almost knocks ours out of the park. Besides the elephants. Oklahoma has one of the best elephant exhibits in my opinion. Good price for a full day of fun.

I am a big fan of visting zoos and seeing things you may not otherwise have the ability to see. The Denver Zoo is without a doubt one of the best zoo experiences I have had. It is really easy to navigate around and the animal enclosures are really easy to see into allowing you a better chance of seeing what you came for. I highly recommend paying a little extra for the 4D Theatre, it was a fun experience.

This zoo thankfully has the appropriate exhibit sizes for their animals. They all seem happy and healthy. The zoo is clean and beautifully landscaped. Staff are helpful and taught my siblings a lot about the animals and their habitats.

It was a Free Day when I visited. The docents were sharing interesting facts with visitors throughout the exhibits. We spent the most time in Tropical Discovery and watching the otters in Toyota Elephant Passage.

So this zoo could use a good cleaning. And $25 to feed a Giraffe? Also one of the food stands has a menu item Beer and a Dog for $9.99. Very misleading as it does not include a beer and a hotdog. It s only a hotdog with beer cheese. Very disturbed at this level of deception.

Combined with the rest of the attractions in the Mile High City Culture Pass, the zoo was a great value attraction. I haven't been to a zoo that had as many attractions as the Denver Zoo. Super clean, staff was friendly, and the animals seemed happy. The main cafe had a good salad and hummus plate as well!

A great evening out this time of year is the Denver Zoo Lights until Jan 6. It is worth your visit to get outside, see the animals and beautiful lights with special 4D glasses - Santa's and penguins everywhere!

Maybe this zoo doesn't have hills like the Cheyene mountain zoo, but it has plenty more animals. I saw someone comment it was hot, WELL OF COURSE IT'S GOING TO BE HOT DEPENDING ON WHAT TIME YOU'RE GOING.

Great place to take kids and lots of hands on activity's. The zoo offers a wide range of animals and camps for education purposes. They are having lots of baby's and have lots of fun learning experiences as well. It is very stroller accesable and not a large amount of walking or money. I would recommend it to anyone who had kids and wanted to spend a day outside!

My grandma told me I need to make this post.

Dear Denver Zoo,

I see you are building an animal hospital and just relocated the bears to Harmony Mountain. You might be on a tight budget... I have read a few blog posts over the past few years regarding this.

All I ask, will you please make a few separate mother's room somewhere air conditioned. I have no problem breastfeeding in public, I would in the air conditioned food court, but my son is now at the age where he gets distracted easy. Before I get hate on why I'm breastfeeding my 6 month old still, it's my choice AND HIS.

Carrying on, my son LOVED the zoo and it is really good for his development. As you can see there were kids in the restroom if finally found staring and a mother looking at me with judgemental eyes. My son was so hot after breastfeeding in that hot restroom I had to cool him off in the sink.

The Denver Nature and Science Museum had an AMAZING FAMILY ROOM.

It was HUGE, with sinks, chairs, two separate restrooms and a completely separate mother's room!

Let me start off by saying my mother, son and I could barely fit in Primate Panorama Secondly, it was so hot and muggy. The diapers that were thrown away in there were thrown where the paper towels go, so no lid, henceforth the room smelt terrible.

Please, take into consideration the small people who deserve to enjoy the zoo and need to be fed every 1-2 hours.

The animals are easy to see with the well designed exhibits. Bring an umbrella on a hot day for shade; there are some long stretches of parts without shade.
The zoo does a lot of animal encounters and educational shows/activities throughout the day! So fun!
Food and drink are pricey but you can bring in your own meals.

Always love taking my family to the zoo in Denver. Staff are always extremely friendly and with the current pandemic happening, they have everything together. The directions on where to go are very clear and the staff are there to guide you where you need to go. I hope the rest of the exhibits open soon! Would highly recommend coming here!

Cool zoo, but you have to stop by the brown bear. It's a BBQ with smoked brisket, pork, turkey, links, etc. I was totally blown away. This brisket was better than a lot of places I have visited in Texas. It's that good! And the prices are not bad. $18 Mama Bear meal is enough for three adults. If you go to the zoo, you need to go here also.

Always been my favorite place to go in Denver! I love that they are updating their habitats for the animals to make them more like their natural habitat! Cant wait to go again! I LOVED THE ZOO LIGHTS!! I VLOGGED IT ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

We ve had an amazing day at the zoo! Both the kids and the adults loved the 4D movie and the beautiful animals. So educational for the kids to see these animals from the young age.

The food was good as well. We all enjoyed it and will be back real soon!

What a great place! A little expensive but for obvious reasons. Animals seemed as content as possible in a zoo environment. Worth the trip if visiting Denver. In speaking with a few keepers, it is obvious that they care about and enjoy the jobs they are doing. Had a great time, will be back!

We visited during a free admission day and it was a fantastic experience. It wasn't over crowded as we anticipated, our littles loved the exhibits hands on portions on the signs and the different interactive portions. We loved the train ride, as nonmembers for a 10 stamp ride card it was worth it. Will definitely go again.

The Denver Zoo holds a special place in my heart. When my son was a toddler, I'd take him almost once a week because we loved being here together.

We'd ride the carousel and train. We'd catch the sea lion show. We'd feed nectar to the lorikeets. We'd hunt for the peacocks that wander freely through the zoo. We'd visit Monkey Island, Elephant Passage, Bear Mountain, and our absolute favorite, Tropical Discovery. It's so beautifully and thoughtfully designed; full of wondrous animals and creatures you'd never imagine getting to encounter at a zoo.

We also love Zoo Lights and Boo at the Zoo. There's not much to dislike about a place that genuinely seems to care for its animals and the guests that visit them. One year Denver Zoo was also awarded the greenest zoo in the country.

Getting a membership here is worth every penny and we plan on being members for life.
