Recently went with my family and father-in-law and had a great time. It was more fun watching the amazement in the eyes of my children (12, 5, and 14-months) as they experienced seeing the many animals present.

Pro: Many fun sites to see and there are a few shows to watch.

Con: Lots of walking, stay hydrated.

Overall Experience: Great for all ages. You will not be disappointed.

This is one of our most favorite places to be. We hold an annual membership so we can go as often as we want. Food & drink prices are ridiculous so plan to bring your own stuff to eat & drink. Also bring strollers or wagons for the little kiddos. You'l want to plan at least 4 hours there.

Great Zoo, it s a large 80 acres. Has a lot of animals to see plus a 4D theater that was a lot of fun. The theater is a separate cost, $6 each. There is also a railroad that is also a separate cost to ride. The enclosures are a little small but the zoo was built in 1896 so keep that in mind, they are doing a lot of renovations to make them larger. There are a lot of things for kids to do and the employees are very friendly. There is an elephant show as well. All in all it was an amazing time, it took us about 4 hours to see everything only stopping for 30 minutes for a break. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Brought the whole family. Had a ton of different animals to see. The way it is laid out was kind of funky, odd to navigate. The manta ray exhibit where you can feed them and pet them was super fun!

A lot of the exhibits are closed due to Covid19 restrictions. Masks are required for visits. They have a small and large loop for viewing. It's a 2 hour hike on the long loop. That's about the limit for wearing a mask in the heat for me. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Some of the arrows on the group were confusing since it's one way only through the exhibits for social distancing. Overall a great experience.

Really great place for dates, family outings or even going by yourself. It takes 3 to 4 hours to see everything in one go. There's plenty of sitting areas with shade and restrooms, along with grass areas to have a picnic. The tickets are reasonably priced at 20 bucks per person. And if ur a photographer, u can definitely take amazing shots and footage of not only the animals but also the flowers and foliage

What a great place! I however for whatever reason did not think it would have been that busy on a wednesday but it was fairly busy. It is long so if you have kids who can fit in a stroller or wagon bring them! It is long walk. I wish on some we didn't feel so rushed to look and keep going but had to give others a chance to look as well. But I would highly recommend it!

Zoo lights were amazing again this year! Santa is there along with hot cocoa and s'mores! Much better this year since the number of people were limited. We had a 7:30pm entrance time, but they let us in at 5:30pm with no problems. Parking was better as well.

Big zoo! Combined with the Science museum we walked 7 miles! Food prices are a bit high but for the amount of food you get, it seems worth it. Friendly employees. Some enclosures were too small I felt and some animals were in the enclosures alone.

I thought that the zoo was ok. Before the update I would have gave it 5 stars but they REMOVED the polar bears!! The bear enclosed was bigger but it was a little hard to see because the bears where still get used to the new enclosure. I loved the sea lion show though. Even though I did not see all of the zoo, of what I did see was about 3 stars.

Went at the end of January. A few displays were closed but still got to see quite a few animals. The penguins were gone - they shut down the penguin section - so fast was a little disappointing.

You can't go wrong with this zoo. Lots a great stuff. The tiger and elephant exhibits are amazing! Lots of animals and easy to get around. Beer is served at some vendors! Only bad thing is it gets crazy busy in the summer months on the weekends. Parking is tough. I try taking the family early to avoid most of it. Lots of new and updated stuff. It's not the biggest zoo out there but located in the heart of Denver. Otherwise it's a good zoo.

It's a real fun family experience, we've gone twice in the past year, doesn't cost an arm and a leg to go like other attractions in Denver. Would give five stars but they have a lot of construction right now which wasn't terrible but it will be better when it's done. Overall good time!

Denver zoo lights was amazing! The hyenas and lions and hippos were out and the lights were expertly done! It was our first time going and I would definitely go again. Takes about 30-60 minutes to go through the line depending on how late you get there. Takes a couple of hours to see everything so very warm clothes are recommended.

Had to spend a day with family and figured out this zoo would be our best option. Went for the penguins, which we spent a good amount of time at. Maybe we just didn't get the lay out but it seemed like a very small zoo. Either way the Pandas were worth it.

Sad..we watched two elephants (one who had a wound with dried blood by its ear) who were seperated from each other and were trying to open the gates to get to one another..then there was a crying Donkey that literally let out a painful cry and everyone thought it was funny...A polar bear who just sat and laid it s head on a giant rock and starred at a corner. Employees were no where to be found to pay attention to the animals..we rushed out and swore we will never come to any zoo in the future..

But, '' isn't there always a but'', it is very clean and respectful place to take the kids and grandkids too. Bring your own food it is cheaper. Good healthy animals lots to see and do. Now they have camping overnight with the animals. Check it out.

Great experience. I L.ove ed the scenery of all different enclosures. It was the 4th of July and the very First date of me & my Queen. Thank you, Denver Zoo, for opening your doors to people like me

It was a nice zoo with lots of Animals to see. It also was not too badly priced, and had plenty of concession stands that weren't badly priced either. We will definitely be going back next visit to Colorado!

Always loved this zoo, we've been members for a few years now and go frequently. It's always a blast to hear my kiddos get excited pointing out all the animals they read about in their books, and the volunteers are always super friendly and give us extra tidbits of info when they're nearby. The love they show their animals and all the fun posts they have on their Facebook makes it extra special in our eyes.

We spent all day walking around and taking photos of animals. All animals are clean and have enough space for comfort living. Would recommend coming early in the morning to see lions and bears as they usually sleep at noon. There are some restaurants where you can eat pizza and ice-cream. Great place! We will be back with our relatives who are coming from the overseas.

Very nice zoo - fun for the whole family. Considering how many people come thru, it was very clean. Lots of shade, grassy areas for picnics

Our son loved it! Next year we will be buying a membership.

One of the best zoos in the country, not only for the guest experience but for the animals as well. Over the past 20 years they have given the big monkeys, elephants, Lions and tigers all new exhibits with lots of room.

Been coming here since I was little. It's always great and there are always new things to see and do even for life long members like myself! I would recommend if your in the area to take a day to explore this great zoo and support the conservation of animals.

Zoo lights are amazing! Definitely a must do every year. The zoo employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. Seeing the elephant cross the bridge has to be one of the best experience I've ever had!

So great!!! There wasn't an extremely large crowd, and the staff have done a really good job making sure there is not a lot of crowding. Go support the zoo, and see a bunch of beloved animals.
