Great little place to walk and spend time with family
great place to visit and take pixtures. elephant enclosure was very educational
Nice place to go to and bring kids. Lots of exhibits but smells kinda bad everywhere.
I liked it. There are better zoos, but for the price it was pretty good.
For a winter activity, the January Denver zoo free day is a great deal! Be ready to deal with a crazy zoo parking lot, but if you don't mind parking a little ways away it is a lot of fun. We were able to hand fee a llama, see flamingos and penguins right up close and got an amazing show from a handle of frisky seals. We rented a 2-seater "jeep" that you can push around because we forgot our stroller at home. It was $9. Expensive, but since we got in for free it was no biggie. We also road a fun train and there is a carousel. Overall a great experience.
It felt like the zoo had taken mindful precautions to keep everyone well. The Lego sculptures were a great addition
Compared to other zoos I've visited this one feels small. I've been there a few times so unlikely that I missed seeing certain animals. The zoo doesn't have so many animals I can think of. Part of that might be because of Denver weather.
Well played out for you to cover a lot of ground quickly but please be prepared for the heat sun hats umbrellas bring all that u can to make your own shade
Since opening up after the pandemic, Friday the 12th, I wish it could always be this pleasant. I understand that the Zoo needs more visitors for the revenue, but it was lovely not being in the usual crowd. Although, there are still those who refuse to 6 feet distance, the park was clean, the staff was friendly, there is food available - with no lines - and the gift shop is open. It's obvious how much the animals appreciate seeing people but not with the usual noisy crowds. The elephants came over to say hi, the penguins played in front of you and all the new Baby Zoo animals were crazy cute! Unlike, when the crowds are out, we actually saw all the animals. It was a joy to return to the zoo, I only wish it could stay this controlled. I was concerned that the price went up by $5 with less to see, but it's worth it. I even gave an additional donation. The Denver Zoo really deserves it, they do a great job!
Great place to visit. I have loved visiting since I was a kid and now enjoy going with my daughter. I greatly appreciate the precautions they have out in place for Covid-19. The zoo was not very busy and the staff was amazing to interact with when I went on 9/7. The continued renovations and updates are really cool. Hoping that they will be able to weather this storm and continue to provide for the animals and the staff.
Enlightening, relaxing, and it really helped with my girlfriend's dementia.
they have directed traffic to help stay safe and get the most of the visit.
Very clean, great staff and very nice prices compared to other zoos.
This Denver Zoo is always a great time!! Be sure to by the membership its worth it!
This zoo is very clean and is usually always renovating to keep the park new and exciting. There are many different attractions and animal exhibits, indoor and outdoor. Most times there are animals in all of the enclosure but some days there won t be a couple. We are season pass holders and always get to come back when we don t get to finish walking through. They also do zoo lights in the winter which is always fun and different. A bad experience we had about a year ago was when we went and we were in an encloser that was large and a walk through, we were about half way through when we were 4-5 park employees that were shoving everyone out of the encloser. They said we had to leave because they were closing within the hour. They were extremely rude and careless in the way they went about it. I was also given a hot chocolate with fireball in it because of their careless employees, I was underage at the time and we had our whole family with us and the drink could ve been given to my 4 year old brother, 8 year old brother or 10 year old sister. Things could be handled differently and more effectively to keep paying customers happy.
Very accessible zoo you can leisurely see in a day!
Amazing place where animals look happy and well treated!
Took my almost one year old (in hopes that he would actually enjoy himself) and he absolutely LOVED every second! The park is clean and well organized and there are lots of options for food and shops. Bathrooms were clean and theres always a shady spot to stop and rest. We only got to see half the park because my son was getting tired and cranky, but we will definitely be returning!
The animals were all out and active. Their habitats were large and very nice.
Kids & staff dressed up in costumes. Staff passed out candy, animals great. Star wars characters big hit.
Love going to see the animals anytime and the staff are always helpful
After reading all of the awesome reviews on the Denver Zoo, We packed up our car and drove for two hours to go and check it out. Boy was that a bad idea. When we arrived there was no parking and we had to drive around for atleast 30 minutes in their tiny parking lot for a parking space...We FINALLY found one three million miles away from the gate and there was a huge line for tickets, then we went into one of the little meal places to eat and we spent $25 on two chicken sandwitches, five fries a piece and WATER! There were only two of us! I got over that quickly because we were there to have fun, right? Wrong again! We walked the ENITRE zoo with the map that they gave us and saw a total of 7 animals. Most of the enclosures were empty, some had hidden animals and others...there were so many people crowded around you couldn't see ANYTHING! I have never been so disapointed in my entire life when it comes to a family outting. I'll stick with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo thank you...
One of my favorite family outings. I will upgrade the rating to five stars as soon as they name an animal "Keith."
I would also accept a fish named "Todd."
I love the Denver Zoo! I always have a good time here.
A lot bigger then I thought it was, worth it!!! Make sure to go early so you can get through everything without rushing, I recommend once it opens
Great family and school outing in Denver's beautiful City Park. Very diverse zoo with excellent exhibits. Top choices include the Primate Panorama, Elephant Passage, Northern Shores, Tropical Discovery and The Edge. Be sure to check out the baby gorilla and baby orangutan.
Hands down the best Zoo I ve visited in my life! There s something for everyone and plenty to do besides look at animals. The gift shop has art from local artists which I loved. Go see the Elephant show! 10/10 would recommend. If you re thinking of visiting just do it. It s so worth it.
The monkeys were really annoying. One kept flirting with my girl. And don't even get me started with the peacocks.
Favorite Place to go n Denver w/ or without the kids!!!
Love this place but last time I went alot of stuff is in construction for see much animals and price was the same
Great time and felt very welcome for our Special Olympic visit.
Denver as always hosted great boo at the zoo! It was our third year taking our daughter there and she just loves that. Seeing animals and trick or treating what fun!
Always a fun experience with the family. I will be very excited when the big cats are available again. I don't think the bears were accessible either. After those two things are rectified, it will be amazing. The Elephant area is amazing though. If they are doing something similar to that with the big cats and bears, I will be thrilled!
Such a hit with the kids, they just love it. The animals seem happy, the structure is well taken care of and it is clean. They even serve craft beers on tap, couldn't ask for more.
Great place to go as a family and as a school on a field trip. It would take most of the day to see everything but it is laid out well. Maps are helpful. Restaurants and vendors and there throughout.
Very nice zoo, lots of space for people. Reasonably clean everywhere. However, with kids in strollers every 25 feet, you would think they would put auto door openers for parents to use, not to mention for wheelchairs.
I have been coming here since I was seven. The zoo is constantly building better exhibits as well as new ones. Lots of live shows throughout the day. Zoo lights in the winter time are always fun too. Food has definitely gotten better since I first visited. The Denver zoo is my favorite zoo, even better than San Diego.
It was beautiful and it was fun we're from Springdale Arkansas
Big huge zoo, the family loved it. The only bad experience I had was the super expensive soda machine that I used my credit card on that charged my card but didn't work so I then bought a soda from the vender near by, basically cost me $15 for one 20oz soda...lol.
A beautiful place and fun experience, but I think the animals need more care. If you are there to see animals, I suggest the Wild animal sanctuary instead.
The zoo is well kept and there are a lot of neat animals! I especially liked the polar bear, camels, elephants and the tiger.
Great experience and the yearly passes are well worth it.
I really enjoy this zoo. the animals have large open spaces to roam (considering that it is in a built up part of the city). Everyone should check out the new elephant enclosures.
This Zoo is great, animals are healthy and beautiful, love it!
The Denver Zoo is one of the best zoos in the U.S.!
The exhibits are clean, the seal show is very entertaining and they have an interactive feeding session with giraffes! The kids love the reptile house the best! This is only based on viewing the animals! I have not been to any of the eateries inside the zoo.
Rare to catch most of the animals outside they have lots of empty lots... but it's a nice little walk and kids love it.
Always love the experiences at the Denver Zoo. Is never the same from one visit to the next. Baby orangutan and baby gorilla are so cute. Also, the Sea Eagle has a baby in the nest. Also watched the elephant training. We love the zoo!!
Once I went there. It was nice xmas lights but need more lights and less cost for foods service. Drink of any brands for 6.99 is too much. Be wise like starbuck price fir 5.49. That way many people buy out fast. Trust my words.
Food is high priced as you would expect but it is delicious. The parking is crazy but people come and go all day so it doesnt take long unless it is a free day at the zoo then, well, everyone in Denver is here so you need to understand that. The animals come out more when its chilly not so much activity when it is really hot out
Im from STL...This one cant hold a candle to STL ZOO
Always a good escape with little ones. Not too crowded on an April Friday.
Great social distancing practices in place. Nice exhibits
Super fun. Soooo much to do and so little time to do it. We picked a few things we wanted to do and made sure we get those first. Definitely feed the birds. Pay the 2 dollars for the cup of nectar and really get in there. It was great, and the birds were very gentle and will sit on your hands.
I guess who ever gave this place bad reviews haven't traveled to zoos outside of America... Keep up the great work you guys make me proud to give you our money
Awesome zoo with a long history and very cool animals like the capuchin monkeys just like on night at the museum!
Boo at the zoo is priceless! People are as fun to watch as animals!
Always a great time at the zoo. Was very busy on Labor Day, but we were still able to find parking and get through the line in just a few min.
I have always loved going to the Zoo since I was a little girl and now I have loved bringing my kids. They started the wonderful program for the EBT card and now they are not excepting it for the summer time. Who wants to go to the Zoo during the cold seasons? I guess us "less important Zoo people." The summer time is only for the ones who want to pay full price and or who have a membership, that's fine. Although not everyone has the ability to do that. Hmmmm.... Made me question if I'll go back.
I have always had an amazing experience here! Besides seeing their polar bear....that s always been the downer of this park.
Love the Zoo! The EBT discount tickets are just the most wonderful thing. Thank you so much for doing this. It gives my children such joy to go to the zoo and normally we would have to save up for something like this.
Very good to come with children, teaches them to take care of the environment, the place is spacious and in good condition, there is a cafeteria if you get hungry during the tour and the guides give you a good service.
Excellent place to go with your family, kids. Friends, etc.
The Denver Zoo has been making some really awesome changes and upgrades in the past few years which have made a world of a difference! Lots of cool food trucks thruout to grab some food or a beer.
Yes it's crowded but it's a huge zoo with large walkways.
Zoo lights in December is okay but worth going at least once.
i loved it the zoo was so much fun, beautiful animals and i love how the staff knows their animals and their stories
Didnt go into the zoo but the park is great! Very cute for most ages.
Great animal exhibits African lion's where gone on the day we went, and the polar bear seemed hot and exuasted
This zoo is amazing I ve been coming for over 15 years. My suggestion is to visit in the colder months, it s a lot less crowded and also go about 8-9am and all the animals will be awake.
Very rude workers. So many empty exhibits or under construction. Definitely not worth how much they charge. Now I understand why they can't get funding or donations. Its really gone down hill.
Fantastic zoo with more than you could reasonably see and experience in one day... I HEAVILY recommend a zoo membership especially for those with kids. Going to the zoo with your kids never gets old for them.
