Amazing zoo! Love everything about it... except the salt water exhibits. Most of the tanks in this exhibit are composed of fake coral, and those that have coral are badly kept and in their mega tank, almost all the fish look ill and clearly have fin rot. As an advocate for salt water fish, I'd like to see denver zoo take more care of their exhibit.

A nice collection of animals mainly from Africa and Asia. Their bird collection is extra good. I went early on a Wednesday and it wasn't very crowded until 11 a.m. when it got pretty busy. I didn't have any kids with me and It took me about 3 hours to see everything. You can save $5 by buying your ticket online. For a major metropolitan zoo it is a little old and not as animal-friendly as I would have expected it to be. I think a city as large and diverse is Denver could do a better job with their zoo. However there seems to be a lot of construction going on so maybe that's what they're working on. (Please upvote if you find this review useful)

One of my favorite place to take the kids and the membership is well worth the cost. While the Denver Zoo isn t huge, there is still a ton to see and do. The food is pretty good and you don t feel completely ripped off. The beer selection is the biggest surprise. Plenty of great beers and when you return with your beer cup the price along with member discount is a great value. Bear Mountain and the sloths in Bird World are the hidden gems.

It was ok, the layout kind of sucks. Not as big as I thought it would be for the price. A lot of the animals weren't there. Omaha is way bigger and better for the same price. There were a few animals that could have used more space but, the elephants enclosure was very nice.

This is our favorite get away and we are so glad it is back open!! We were able to take a walk in a great setting - see all the amazing.animals and then come back home to our quarantine. Really - they are doing a good job at balancing keeping people and animals safe while still being open to the public.

I love this zoo! It just keeps getting better. We saw the new tiger area and went to a presentation by a zookeeper about how they train the animals to be examined. We also saw several of the baby animals with their moms. Really made for a fun day!

It's a good zoo overall, with lots of room for most of the animals. It was sad to see the polar bears in such a small area, especially coming from our local Detroit zoo that has a huge enclosure for ours. But, the tigers, elephants, and rhinos had lots of room to spread out. Everything was very walkable, and parking wasn't bad. For a zoo in the heart of a large city, it was easy to forget you were in the city!

Loved showing my son animals from his picture books for the first time. Great atmosphere, great learning opportunity, never a miss on events like the Zoo lights. Food is pricy but the portions are a good size.

I like the Denver Zoo. It's nice and open, and big enough that it would be difficult to see everything in one day, if you have kids. This is good because you can return and see new things.

Great zoo. Spent several hours here and didn t see everything due to our personal time constraints.
Lots to see. Loved the experts were at many exhibits to talk about what we were seeing.
Love they have water refill stations in the park and they don t gauge you for $$

Online ticket purchase made it easy to skip the line and just walk right into the zoo

Always a good time. Volunteers are amazing and always seem eager to spend time with you and share their knowledge. If you're a member you can get in early and potentially see lions eating!

Was great as always!! Snowy morning so not alot of animals were out...at first. Then it got warm and you got to see all the animals come out and come alive for spring!! Quite a few babies this year also!!!

Very fun for kids. Enough things to do and see and the zoo itself is set up very conveniently. Very clean and you are able to get so close to almost all of the animals especially the giraffes and elephants! We just moved here and we will definitely be back!

We love coming to the zoo. The exhibits are nice, and seem to always be improving. If there is an active display, the staff always prioritize the animals safety, and they never are forceful toward any animal participation.

The layout of the zoo is nice and spacious. The train is a fan favorite for my toddler. They have enrichment programs from the animals. The demonstrations and feedings are worth checking out if you can fit them in.

The hours are pretty restrictive for weekday visits for working families. Zoo closes at 5:00 pm (even in the summer) and the gates close at 4:00 pm. The Botanic Gardens is open until 8:00 pm in the summer and has more programming geared towards kids.

I was really impressed by my first visit to the Denver Zoo. It was during a "Bunk With the Beasts" program that they put on for my son's Cub Scout Pack. With the program we were taken on guided tours of the zoo at night, after it had closed and again the next morning before the zoo opened. We got to see a lot of behind the scenes areas and learned a lot about how the zoo operates. After the program officially ended, we were allowed to stay at the zoo for the rest of the day, and I'm glad we did.

I highly recommend the Denver Zoo, especially their special programs.

ALL THE BIRBS WILL SHAKE YOU DOWN FOR POPCORN!!! But, it's a really fun, outdoor zoo to enjoy. The food is very good for being park-type food and there has been A LOT o expansion in recent years for including ne exhibits, and shows, and animals. Definitely reccomend!

Love the free day at the Zoo idea for families. Park was fairly clean. Prices for drinks and food were what you would expect, high. Definitely more of a summer activity as Denver is pretty cold in the winter and a lot of the animals were MIA. Over all, it is a great experience for the family and chance for the kids to learn more and see the animals they love.

I have a special place in my heart for this zoo. I have been going here for like 30 years. They have done a great job of keeping things updated and looking nice. The downside this time was that much of the zoo seemed to be under construction and particularly the tiger exhibit was closed. I understand though that there is no way to keep the place updated and not have construction.

Pretty nice zoo in terms of cleanliness. Kid-friendly with unique animals and exhibits. The food is the best I've had at a zoo. The only snag is that the lines, at least in peak season, are insanely long, and the counter people are slow.

The zoo has opened and is working on a lot of new exhibit areas for the animals. It's been about 6 months since I last visited and I couldn't believe how different everything looks. They're making great progress and you can tell they think about all of the needs of the animals. Plus there are a lot of babies right now, so this month is a good month to go!

A nice zoo to visit year-round, though I enjoy catching a morning visit in the summer before it gets too hot. The special events like the holiday lights are always very popular, and I highly recommend getting tickets.
