It was a pretty good zoo. I feel like a lot of animals were missing. Maybe it s because it was hot for Denver.

Denver's zoo can't be touched!! They are the best. And so isdobby!!
Very cool zoo! Can compete with any metropolitan zoo! December zoo lights are a must see!
A staple of Denver. Plenty to see and do for the entire family. Zoo Lights in the winter is beautiful!
I would pick other zoo's before this one but it's close and it's a zoo
We love the Denver Zoo. Their conservation and education programs are outstanding.
great time (: the pass holding visitors are a******* or better yet pass holes
Beautiful zoo that cares about animal happiness and space. Does a lot for preservation and animal protection efforts. Great experience during covid, and best lion exhibit I have seen
Really great zoo, clean and wide variety of animals. The elephant exhibit was the best
One of my favorite Zoos! Great exhibits and great family fun.
A lovely zoo with friendly staff and a diverse range of animals from small insects to tall giraffes. On top of that, the annual Zoo Lights are an amazing display and a treat for all that come. The best zoo in Colorado hands down.
Absolutely beautiful during zoo lights around Christmastime!
It seems that a lot of the animals are not there. There is nothing there in a lot of the exhibits. Some of the exhibits have giant tree stumps or vegetation getting in the way of the view.
Great atmosphere and some really cool exhibits -- especially the Toyota Elephant Passage. I love their focus on sustainability through the compost and recycling bins, and the information provided climate change, deforestation, and the importance of animals in the ecosystem.
I love the zoo, you can bring your own food and drinks which is so nice!
We have always loved the Denver Zoo. The animals are great to see, and the people you meet from the ticket counter to inside the park and beyond are si friendly and want you to enjoy the experience of the wildlife there. We always love the free day options! Its nice with young kiddos and small budgets!
We were shocked at how close you can get to the animals. Try to get there when they open, that way you can see the animals getting fed, which is always a great experience.
Was hot that day so get there early to enjoy them before its to hot.
They didn't teach as much algebra as my last school, will continue to attend.
The marketing team here rocks! The pokemon weekend was awesome and tons of fun. The park can be crazy busy but you still feel like you are on your own adventure and the lines are suprisingly fast. Just stay hydrated as water is pricey aside from the water fountains!
Had lots of fun. The staff was friendly and very informative and the Covid precautions were set up well. It was never too crowded.
Large zoo lots of animals. Under construction a lot in the past year or two so many of the enclosures are closed off . Parking is a nightmare. Plan to drive around to find parking a while. Lines move fairly quick especially if you have a memebership. Gift shop will break the bank . Food and drink prices are high. Bring your own food and drink . Nice that they rent wagons when available.
Nice zoo with plenty of space to walk around yet small enough that children can make it also!
The tigers, giraffe, penguin, tropical discovery,is fun. Liked the monkeys and apes great enclosures. Lots of construction. Better when construction is done
It was amazing! There are a lot of things to explore. Most of the animal areas were very clean with plenty of space and entertainment for the animals. We really enjoyed our visit. I'd recommend planning your day so that you can spend a few hours at the zoo.
Walkable but all buildings closed because of covid-19, mask required, high priced drinks, 27 bucks for three smart waters and one Dasani.
Bunk with the Beasts was incredible! Our group was shown an African millipede, an African box turtle, and 2 parrots live and up close. We also received guided tours of several zoo exhibits before and after hours. It was incredible to hear the lions roaring after dark. All the staff was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, and the breakfast was delicious and filling. My only complaint is that the room we slept in got really cold at night. Thanks!
Love this place. Although all of the free days are scheduled on like the worst kinda weather days lol. It's not super expensive that you can't just make it a trip for a family day.. So many cool activities I didn't know about also.(excited to feed the giraffes!) And those sculptures of the washed ashore trash are very eye opening.. I really liked those.
It might have been the time of day we got to the zoo, which was 11am. But it was really hot out already and all the animals were dormant. Im with the animals on this one because it was hot. We didnt see a lot of animals until we got to the bigger animals. By then it was almost 1 and clouding over. From afar we could see the animals closer to the entrance and they were lively as can be. LOL I was a little bummed. Also they were only taking credit cards, and we had to wear masks the whole time. Covid19 caused this problem Im sure.
Went on a free day while on vacation for the first time to Denver Zoo. Absolutely beautiful in the snow and would recommend to anyone. I saw my first lion roar in person! This is a must see!!!
Fun place to learn about animals as long as you don't mind children running everywhere. Loved the exhibit with the Upcycled Trash in shapes of animals.
Most of the animals weren't in their exhibit. Should have been more signs to tell us don't walk that way they aren't there.
Nice zoo .. besure to bring sunscreen and hat not to much shade at this zoo
A great place for all ages! Clean environment! Friendly and helpful staff! Loved the tropical animal exhibit!
I had the best day at the zoo yesterday with a friend. Yes, just two adults and no kids! Give yourself at least 3 hours here! We saw a lion cub and a baby monkey (see the pics). The babies were soooo cute and playful. I was quite impressed with this zoo. They have several yummy food and beer options with food huts in various places throughout the zoo. There was food ranging from Korean - Mexican - American. We got bison tacos from a food truck that was parked inside the zoo! It was delicious! Will try the Korean food next time.
The animals looked very well taken care of. We watched penguins hop about and swim. There were even an elephant and sea lion presentation. The elephant was free to roam in and out during the informational presentation, but he stayed the whole time and even gave the crowd a few poses without prompting. We couldn't stay for the sea lion presentation, so will have to do that next time. This zoo was very clean and the smells were not bad at all. I'm sensitive to odors and was able to handle the whole zoo. There was an area where some monkeys could swing on ropes right above us as they cross from one area to another. Although I didn't see any do this, I thought this was amazing! The care takers at this zoo were happy and good with the animals. We were so pleased to see this. The zoo itself was pretty and well laid out.
Outstanding exhibits, great food, friendly people. We had a perfect day!
Just renewed my yearly membership. Great deal to get if you like to go as much as I do.
Great Zoo! Always something new to discover whenever I go. Always amazed. Great place for a date or to take the family.
Love this zoo. Its small enough to walk around without kids getting too exhausted but big enough to see a lot of animals. They always have a great cat selection. Love the leopards.
Had a wonderful day with the entire family. Weather was great. Was nice to see all the updating they're doing on the exhibits. Best of all we were able to get a good sighting of momma and baby Sloth!
We love the zoo! Due to the current conditions in which we live, there is a different set up at the zoo. You gotta have a mask. There's guided arrows to keep foot traffic going the same direction all around the zoo, the indoor exhibits and buildings are closed for the time being. Most of the animals spend there time outdoors in the nice weather anyway, so you still get to see them. There's hand sanitizers everywhere but with the littles it's helpful to have some wipes handy! You can order food ahead online which was nice, and you do have to reserve tickets for times entry in advance.
Such a great zoo. BUT getting there is a pain. And parking is the absolute worst! We had a membership and did not renew because of how hard it is to park. It is nicely laid out and tons of shade. Grounds and animals look well taken care of.
This is by far the best zoo I have taken my family in this state. It has amazing exhibits, is kept very clean, and has a bunch of vendors that offer all of your needs!
Love this zoo! Employees are so amazing. So clean. The plants and flowers are always amazing!
We visited the Zoo while visiting Denver I wish more animals were out and the restaurants were open they had a good food truck though
So many negative thoughts but I encourage everyone to experience it for themselves
A really amazing zoo. It was so large we didnt even make it through the whole place before they closed. Make sure to get their early if you want to see all the animals. Very well maintained facilities for the animals and the guests. The elephant area is massive and truly a great place to view elephants. The zoo has tons of primates that all interact in areas where visits can view them. Top notch place!
The zoo lights are a wonderful winter tradition for anybody. I've been going for years and love it.
Bring your own beverages unless four dollars a water sounds reasonable to you. Otherwise we love the zoo
You can't buy ticket at the gate like you used to! You can only buy tickets online! Needless to say we couldn't see the zoo of kight.! We were very disappointed! Cash is just as good as credit card. Doesn't anyone take cash anymore???
Love the Denver Zoo ... great place to walk and see interesting and beautiful animals to see.
The Christmas lights were spectacular! Rudolph and company flew over our heads in the 4D theater! We got to see the elephants and giraffes. We enjoyed viewing the light using 4D glasses infused with penguins. We made the penguins dance by moving our heads from side to side.
The Denver Zoo is a heaven for kids. Not only is everything organized and easy to find, our daughter had such a great time and didn't want to leave.
If you have kids and are in need of a fun activity, the zoo is perfect for both kids and adults. While your there, definitely take a ride on the train and the carousel!
Of the zoos we ve visited recently the Denver zoo had the greatest variety of animals. It was fun to see animals we d only seen on puzzles or in books: okapis, 2-humped camels, a Malayan tapir! Several exhibits (felines e.g.) were empty, which was a bummer. And the zoo felt a little dreary in some parts. The giraffes looked kind of sad in their little sandy area! Would love to see a nice big green space for those guys!
Cheyenne mountain zoo in Colorado springs is way better
If you are looking where to go on the weekend, you should definitely visit this place. Located in Downtown Denver, this unique zoo. The areas for animals are well-maintained with plenty of space and entertainment for the animals. We spent here 4 exciting hours and will be back soon.
Great zoo with lots of really nice exhibits. The layout is a bit hard to navigate without backtracking allot, but still well worth it.
Animal enclosures are wayyyy to small and all the animals looked depressed. I rather spend $4 more and goto cheyenne mountain zoo in the springs.
Great place to visit. Have been there twice. Some animals are loose around the park rabbits etc. Great new Dinosaur displays.
The wildlife explanations are cool to see and very educational.
