The zoo was such a great past time that took up most of our day! One snippet of advice is don't go first thing at opening because most of the exhibits were still empty and it took a good hour before things started to appear. They offer wagon rental if you bring little ones. We didn't eat at any of the cafes but they smelt so good and were very busy so I assume the food is delicious. The animals were nice and visible and was a huge range of things to see. If I lived there I would probably get a pass to go multiple times to see more things!

Some indoor exhibits were closed but the zoo is comfortable and the animals.are nicely presented

It's literally my favorite place to go in Colorado and has been since I was a baby. The staff is knowledgeable, the animals are well taken care of and attended to, parking can be difficult so carpooling is helpful. The food has gotten much better since I was in high school. There are often cool events to go to (Brew at the Zoo, zoolights are 2 really fun events). Definitely go!

Fantastic facility with new exhibits constantly. Nice and shady, plenty of places for picnics.

It is free day today some exhibits don't have anything in them it's a little expensive but worth it you know you can spend the night at the zoo from June to September

Great place to visit with family- is better going early is very windy afternoon

A fun trip to see many animals, though like most zoos, the animals all seem chronically depressed.

Free parking. Very nicely shaded throughout. Nice zoo.

So much fun.super hot on this day but suck a great zoo.

We were disappointed in the zoo. I understand that some things have to be changed due to COVID. A lot of the zoo is closed down and you can t access it but you don t receive any kind of discount on the tickets. When you Get to the stingrays they want to charge you five dollars to go in. I would not recommend going here til it gets back to normal

Zoo sucked enclosures overgrown, couldn't really see animals. Smell was horrible, they took horrible care of the exhibits. Wasted money will not go back. Not recommended.

Lovely night, nice lights, pleasant staff, beer, cool giraffes, roaring lions, nice elephant show. Recommend.

Overall was a very good experience with some interactive and the habitats were mostly clean with only a few exceptions. The focal points are the best upkept areas for sure. Plenty of options for drinks and food and honestly I didn't feel all that gouged for a bottle of water. All walkways we're clear and only was chaised by a goose once.

Always love our zoo. Great place for a walk and to see all the animals. The volunteers love to tell you so much about the animals. They almost sound like parents.

It was a nice zoo but most animals were not at the park

Lions tigers & bears oh my. Literally, as well as gorillas, monkeys, a massive elephant exhibit, hippos, llamas, and so so much more. Peacocks walk down the walkways casually. Very beautiful and clean park that has a great layout and is sure to please the whole family. Bars and restaurants throughout the park.

This place is so cute and well designed. We went during the Lego installation and it was fantastic. This place really gets you close to the animals and gets you to experience animals in a fun and interactive way. The enclosures are so well done and really great for the animals and aesthetically pleasing to the guests. Overall a fantastic Zoo.

Many exhibits were closed. Zoo was spread out and easily walkable. Too crowded. Parking was a nightmare. We met a nice pretzel vendor.

I have the impression the cage are small and old. This zoo would need a biiiiiig refresh !
Edit : denver have been doing a lot of remodeling lately and this place is getting better every time we go ! KEEP going !!!

Great place to hang out with the kids but also very educational! I even saw couples on dates.

I am so proud of the Denver Zoo for the tireless work they do around the world to save habitats and endangered species. The zoo is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous. Most of the animal enclosures are very nice. Of course it's a shame that the residents are captive but for most all of them it's their only chance to survive and hopefully the endangered species can survive and thrive. The zoo staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Opportunities to learn about the animals and their unique situations are limitless because the zoo staff is always educating the public. I am a proud member of the Denver Zoo and have been for many years.

This is probably one of the best zoos I've been to. My only issues are that a lot of the exhibits are empty and I feel that some of the animals that are by themselves could use a companion.

This zoo is a really nice place to take the kids for a day to learn about animals. The exhibits are well presented, there are lots of little activities for our kids to do around the exhibit, and the membership is defiantly worth it.

Great place to spend a Sunday, fresh and its perfect for children

Coming from Omaha, I did not have high hopes, but well maintained areas and a natural feel, made this is a great 1/2 to 1 day zoo.

This is one of my favorite places to visit in Denver. It's always being updated. Definitely world class. Come and see what you are missing.

Boo at the Zoo was great. The weather was gorgeous for a late Saturday afternoon and everyone was in a good mood. There were lots of booths staffed by vendors, nonprofits and the zoo staff who were offering candy for the kids.

Loved it and so did the kids! One of the best zoos I have been to. Staff is friendly and the habitats for the animals are awesome!

Beautiful and clean. There's one exhibit after another and all informative and fun.

Zoo is cool. Upside of Covid? Sure! Less people at places like the zoo!

Probably not the best time to visit this zoo, lack of animals and most of the exhibits are empty, it looks they have shifted them to elsewhere, people are still coming in hope to watch animals but its more like visiting trees and plants than visiting zoo!!

Well they didn't have the shuttle operating so that made it difficult for the elderly. A lot of exhibits with nothing. And the staff they were awesome and helpful.

The Denver Zoo staff did a great job creating a flow and ensuring everyone had ample space and time to move through the park in order to observe social distancing.

One of the places must visit in Denver. Especially elephant pass is amazing

Great place for the family or just a day to hangout. They got pretty much everything you would think or want to see, and the animals look to be very happy. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The price to admission is well worth the visit, and they got days that are discounted. Definitely recommend anyone to come check it out. Parking can be hard to find if its busy but just look around.

I really loved this zoo! The thing I found most unique was how open roam it was for the animals. The birds you walk through rooms with them flying everywhere. The elephants have trails. The monkeys are above your head! It's so much fun! I came from out of state and would go back.

They don't have the proper information. And they don't mind treating you like you are less than them. And I was definitely disappointed on a train ride

This was a great zoo! This is a must if you visit Denver with a child. The only downside was that it was so big that my child got tired before we could see everything. (She is 2 so this wouldn't be a problem for most). The variety of animals was amazing. The enclosures were large. Even though it was crowded the day we went it didn't feel crowded inside the zoo.

Re: COVID-19 Excellent Zoo visits of up close animal habitats

We came to the Denver zoo last week while on vacation from Texas. We went on a Friday, which was probably not the best idea. The parking wasn't the best. We had to park by the science museum and it was quite the walk to the entrance. The lines to purchase tickets were really long, but we didn't seem to be in line that long, it went fairly quick. The zoo itself was very big. It helped space out the large crowds so it didn't feel so crowded. There were quite a few exhibits with nothing in them, so that was a disappointment. We got to see a larger selection of animals that we don't have in the Fort Worth Zoo, so that was nice. Overall, a very nice experience. FYI, they have water bottle filling stations. I haven't seen these before in a zoo. It was so much better than purchasing water.

By far my favorite city zoo that I've been to so far, the Denver Zoo has a lot to offer. From selection of animals to knowledgeable staff and interactive demonstrations, the annual membership is well worth a purchase. I want to go again soon!

I have been comming to the denver zoo since i was 3 and have loved it since. A great place for families and the animals all look really healthy and happy.

I don't think the zoo needs a review who doesn't love the zoo? If you have snap/EBT benefits you get a major discount too.

So sad to see these animals habitats reduced to barely livable sizes. Every animal with a remarkably high running speed doesn't even have the room to do so. Saddest was the bald eagle, THE symbol for freedom, trapped in an enclosure so small it can't even fly.

Price to get in is fare, make sure you show up early! Price for eating and drinking throughout the zoo is way over priced for what you get!

Place was decorated beautifully for Halloween, can't wait to see Christmas

Awesome job making sure everyone is social distancing and wearing their masks. The route is clearly marked and everything seems clean and taken care of. Lots of animals out and about.

My kids loved seeing the animals (particularly the large cats) and there were new lion cubs when we went! It was a perfect 2-3 hour experience for my 2 year old.

Got to see the Zoo Lights early this year as part of a DU alumi event: the food was pretty good, and some of the light displays were fun. A few displays were not working or not set up yet, but overall a fun night out.

Always a great time at the zoo! The lemurs enclosure was such a neat experience. Since it's so dark, you need to stay in the room for a while to let your eyes properly adjust.

We love going for a short afternoon or an all day visit. We've been members for a few years now and the more interactive exhibits. The lorikeet exhibit where you can feed the birds (if they haven't had too much already) is so great for little ones and there are plenty of shows throughout the whole park.

I had an opportunity to run through the zoo for the Colfax half marathons. Got some great pictures of the animals and the zoo staff were really supportive of the runners, cheering us on and all. If I would have stayed an extra day I would have made another visit.

Love it love it love it better prices then Colorado springs an epic experience none the less beautiful animals and great staff
