This is a wonderfully maintained zoo. The exhibits were clean and nice and it wasn't overwhelming for small children. It doesn't hurt that it is also the best place to get Pokemon in the Denver area.

Great zoo! Zookeepers were very interactive and nice. Great exhibits both indoor and outdoor. Very eco friendly zoo. The food options were delicious (they do have vegan options) a great zoo to spend the day at.

The Denver Zoo is a great Zoo with exquisite habitats for the animals and a great layout that makes for a perfect opportunity to see the whole zoo and attractions. Denver Zoo participates in the Species Survival Plan and has a strong emphasis on education. Zoo volunteers help guide and share insights with Zoo visitors.

Very similar too many other Zoos I've been before. The animals being looked after very well. Inn the Zoo we could see two little lion cubs. He was very cute. There are also a lot of elephants reservations. It's nice place to visit with all of your family.

Lots of parking, but this is a popular spot! All events that we have come to here have been fantastic. We usually bring a picnic, and I love that you can get a cold beer while walking the zoo!

Amazing zoo, especially during the lights in the holiday season! Also, I've never seen elephants so active. Great place to spend time with friends or on a date. Food and drink there is very expensive though, eat before you go!

Our family really enjoyed our time here. It s very clean and well maintained. Plenty of awesome animals to see. Admission was reasonable. Food and drink prices are a bit steep but they have to be able to afford to feed all of those animals somehow. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this zoo to anyone.

Overall this zoo is good, but I feel the number of empty exhibits has increased significantly. We visited in June 2018 for the first time in 3 years and there were fewer animals to see this last visit.

Oh my goodness this is a GREAT ZOO! We live in California the closest zoo that we support is in Sacramento and even though it is a good zoo the Denver zoo put this one to shame!! I know being a visitor and a patron we don t see whats going on in the background but what I do get to see makes me feel that the Denver zoo offers a quality of life better than I ve seen at other locations we ve visited! So based on what I have seen & on my own experiences these five stars should be 10! The bathrooms are sufficient spread out, the map is easy to follow, the food was easy to find and spread out. All in all it was an awesome place to visit. I especially appreciate that the display areas for every animal was made to be livable not just a small viewing area without the comfort of the animal considered.

This is a great zoo for a fun family day out. Really was surprised by the variety of animals
They have giraffes , was the first time we saw them so close and so many pea cock just keep going around freely. Was an awesome experience. Definitely a must if you have little children.

Lots of concrete and fake plants with tiny exhibits. The penguins smelled horrible. I did love the bighorn sheep, and the African wild dogs were very active, but most exhibits were cheesy and unmemorable

I d recommend the Denver Museum of Nature and Science over the zoo. The zoo gets so much traffic the staff wasn t as respectful as I d like. They hire young kids that likely don t understand that a lost customer means hundreds of dollars lost.

Great for a winter visit! Lots of animals out. A few places of construction. Overall great visit for mid February. Great place to enjoy the outdoors and see some animals. Good mix of indoor exhibits.

Price to get in was reasonable. The exhibits were either overgrown, empty or inappropriate for the animal. The zoo was cluttered with work equipment in and around exhibits. Staff was overly not friendly. For such a beautiful city and state, you would expect a lot more from an attraction that the majority of parents visiting will bring their children to.

The Denver Zoo is the epitome of a family fun filled morning and early afternoon. Every exhibit had something unique and plenty of entertainment. My advice to the out of towners like me? Buy your tickets online so you can avoid waiting an hour to buy some in person at the ticket booth. If you buy them online, you can go straight to the entrance and get your phone scanned. And try to arrive early, we got a free top level parking lot right next to the zoo at no additional costs. The shrubbery and greenery with city park guiding the entrance is lovely eye candy as well.

This is probably my favorite zoo I've ever been to across the country. Not only do they appear to take great care of their animals but they are very active in education and have educational facts all around the zoo not just about the animals but also how YOU can be a better human to protect them. The zoo was clean, the shows were so wonderful and the animal selection was fantastic. We LOVED LOVED LOVED this zoo. We are big time animal advocates and rehabbers so we're super picky and this zoo just blew us away.

As a volunteer here, I can say that this place is very special to me. All the dedication the staff puts into their animals and the zoo is amazing! Love all the animals there and am glad to say they are improving the zoo's exhibits. The food there is quite good and I would go there all the time! Absolutely love this zoo!

The Denver zoo is great. I will admit that a large part of my appreciation stems from the enjoyment my daughter had during our visit, so I may be biased. Great animals to see, with slightly expensive food and beverages.
If you're planning to go I recommend that the earlier you can get there the better. In general is much easier to find parking, and the first few hours of the day aren't as crowded.

My visit was both very sad and very beautiful. An hour before my visit I received a call about the death of my father. I was meeting my niece for a fun zoo day. She is my parents one and only grandchild and it feel to me to inform her of this tragic news. She feel apart, but thanks to her boyfriend and the zoos staff we consoled each other by visiting the zoo. From the ticket sales person, security, and other members of the Denver Zoos staff we were able to celebrate a father and. grandfather's life in a most loving and caring way!!! THANK YOU DENVER ZOO!!!

Not as good as colorado springs zoo, but has a great selection of animals. Went in the summer and a few animals were hiding, which was a little disappointing. Also, a few locations have different animals at different times so you might miss the lion because other animals are in the display zone. How can you keep the king of the animal kingdom in the back? The lions are headlines. You can't go to the zoo and not see the lions!
