Despite a crowd for Boo at the Zoo, it wasn't too crowded! I was told to expect more candy, but it's all good. My toddler doesn't need candy.

This is a wonderfully peaceful place to come and enjoy many of the animals nature has to offer in a safe and clean environment. There is many educational shows where the handlers educate you about the animals in the exhibits and also answer questions.
Not somewhere I would go again during winter. Definitely more animals to see when it's warmer out. My daughter was disappointed that the polar bear exhibit wasn't accessible. Otherwise it was a good visit.
Always wonderful to visit the zoo. The enclosures are humane, the layout is open and inviting, and there's ample shade. During the pandemic, they have done an excellent job of creating a one way, socially distanced path, that still let's you enjoy the Zoo. Great variety of animals, good scientific info plaques and panels, and clearly respectful of the animals while still making it fun for all ages.
This zoo is awesome! So many great animals to see and the staff is wonderful! The only thing missing that my kids would have liked to have included is a petting zoo. However, the incorporation of a playground makes up for it to an extent. We walked around for 3 hours and still didn't get to see everything. Can't wait to go back!
Always see something new, learn something new, and enjoy some family time outside. Loved the elephant presentation!
The exhibits are organized very well and the animals appear to be very comfortable and well taken care of.
Best zoo I have ever visited. The zoo has a wide variety of animals and I was totally fascinated with the diverse range of animals present. It is also an ideal place for children to learn and play. It is wheel chair accessible, toilets are located in strategic locations and there are food stalls. Best part for me was the songs from different parts of the world that is being played.
They did a wonderful job of dealing with COVID. What an enjoyable experience.
I love bringing my kids here. Now that they started the discount program I can bring them a lot more. Thank you for joining in with the quest card program.
Great exhibits, very clean and doesn't break the bank!
Visited Zoo Lights again, and it was beautiful. So many lights, quite a few animals out, and a beautiful place to spend an evening wandering around in awe.
Such a wonderful zoo! We loved doing the close encounter with the giraffes. What an amazing experience! I feel like we really got to know the giraffes. The zoo really seems to care about the quality of the lives of the animals in their care.
Great zoo, loved going since I was a child. But, some animals need a pair like the capybara. I am pleased to see that they're updating and renewing exhibits and habitats.
Smartly-designed zoo with staff available to answer questions. We spent about 3 hours here and got to see a lot of animal activity.
Awesome place to see how well the animals cared for and to see the conservation efforts to protect these creatures.
Love going here, my husband would go everyday if he could
The animals aren't as depressed as thuggery are in some zoos. Nice habitats.
I went last weekend with the kids and it was great! The staff were pleasant and engaged! They've done a really good job of fostering physical distancing and minimizing the risk of COVID (sanitation stations, one way flow of traffic, etc etc). Even with limited food stands open there were still great options. I actually prefer going to the Zoo.....Global Pandemic style....less people = more animal viewing....I didn't feel rushed. Thanks for a great experience! I'll be making a reservation for my next visit soon.
Love this zoo, the keeper culture seems very healthy, it reflects in the animal care and volunteer enthusiasm. members get discounts to snack bars and gift shop. they serve beer to 21+. i was disappointed that members dont have free access to the train or carousel, and the train is a bit pitiful compared to other zoos ive been to. its one loop around, lasts about 5 min, cant have beverages, and it doesnt give any real views of any animals. not worth the member cost of 2$.
Im proud to be a member there. The keeper talks and shows are always quality. it's ADA. restrooms are usually clean. Wide variety of foods and services and youre allowed to bring food in.
A very nice Zoo with a great variety of species. The Lorikeet feeding is an awesome experience. In general, the food inside is not that great and could use more vegetarian options. It would take a while day to see everything; So come when it opens itself and plan to bring food to beat the lines in the eateries.
Its awesome place. Though lighting of botanical garden is better , if you are going for animals , go in daylight. Its hard to see animals in night.
I enjoy the rustic feel of the outdoor exhibits, indoor exhibits where quite nice too, but the best part in my opinion is how close your can get to the biggest of animals, I literally thought I could pet the hippos!!! (not that I would if I could thoug)
Amazing during the spring time! Cannot see it all in one day though. :-|
There is always something going on some type of activity or shows we were there for the mutual of Omaha senior day at the zoo there are many places for great food and drinks make sure you come for the zoo lights it's fantastic.
Potentially a great zoo. But with constant renovations and empty exhibits, its almost a nice place.
The parking is horrible, one patron had the nerve to get out of his car and was going to confront me for not letting his wife dart in front of me after making a last minute decision to make a right hand turn. Some ignorant drug head darted into the parking space I was waiting to pull up in ( had my blinker on). Furthermore, you don't get what you pay for; half the animals looked sickly or wern't out on display. Just a frustrating waste of time and money!
Great zoo! They keep adding to it so it doesn't get too stale. The kids like the carousel and the train as well as the animals of course.
My kids loved it. It was hard to see the tigers and lions though
It was fantastic! Lots of freaking pumpkin sculptures in a bunch of animal and fish designs and a nice cheap Rose apple cider to help dull the chill of the cool night air. Careful the cider has alcohol.
We had a great time with our family here. We noticed a lot of enclosures were not occupied by the animals advertised in the zoo map.
If you ever in Colorado go to the zoo Colorado springs.
Come on down and see some of the coolest trashed out art made from trash and other stuff that washed ashore. Also zoo lights at the Denver zoo is a great place for friends and family to enjoy.
So many elephants! You can get pretty close to the animals. It was a great time
The Denver zoo is a family fun place it makes me happy to see all the unique and spectacle animals.
Great visit for the family. A lot of brand new habitats and animals. Easy to navigate and big enough that when a ton of people are there, it's not too packed.
Nice spot. It was clean. A little pricey but what zoo isn't.
Amazing staff amazing animals. Some of the exhibits were closed but that's ok so well worth it and the prices were amazing. Next time were in Denver we'll defiantly be back!!!
Quite expensive. 2 hot cocoas with schnapps for 25 bucks. But 100% worth it!
Always fun! Best to go during the week, not as packed then you can take ur time as well as enjoy yourself.
Was a really cool zoo. We are a family of zoo connoisseurs, and this one was definitely fun!
Was just in town for a couple days it was well worth taking my limited time to go here!! We enjoyed it immensely! Also very close to the nature museum and a beautiful huge park!!
Zoo lights was great! Wish there were a few more animal exhibits open but it was a good time...
The Denver Zoo is awesome! Can t wait to come back here soon!
We love the Denver Zoo! It is a family friendly experience and the zoo is truly committed to sustainability and the conservation of wildlife. This is clear through their many programs supporting the wildlife and the zoo s overall design. Each time we go, we experience something new!
Arrived midday and almost everything was sleeping or in back feeding. It would've been nice to be warned or pay discounted rate if this is common for the second half of day...or else close early if there is nothing to see.
All my kid wanted was to see the train but it wasn't running.
Staff is always friendly and it us slwsys great to see the animals.
Spouse and I had a fun time at the Denver Zoo. Ive been here as a kid and the Penguins are my favorite to go see. It was my Spouse's first time at a Zoo. His favorite was the Seals since they were playing tag together!
Went for the zoo lights for our first time and it was amazing and will now be something we do every year.
Good BBQ, had a goodtime even though we got rained on.
The food was really expensive and very flavorless and the pizza was burned black (literally) on the bottom. Everything else was awesome but why pay $54 dollars for crappy food
We love the zoo. The animals are beautiful and the zoo is well kept up and clean.
The exhibits are hard to see when it is busy and the paths do not flow well
They have a wide variety of animals. I enjoy learning something about the animals when I go to zoos. It wasn't overly crowded. Some of the exhibits seem a bit small and we didn't get to see many bears. We got to contribute a vote for a new baby coming soon. Hopefully, they get the construction done soon.
Fantastic place for all ages! Brand new exhibits on the east, west side of zoo is becoming outdated. Highly suggest going if you have never been there. Also there have a red tailed panda!!!
Even though a lot of habitat construction, and animals hiding for the winter. The zoo was great.
Everyone loves the Zoo. The only down fall is that they make the Tropical Discovery too hot and humid.
One of the monkeys seemed super stressed, rocking himself and very disengaged and fearful looking. Otherwise the animals seemed happy and the information provided was helpful!
Loved it. The children had an amazing time. Safe and secure. Couldn't go round.
There was a good variety of animals, however the living conditions were dissapointing.
Many of the animals I saw were restless or distressed acting how some humans act when imprisoned or institutionalized.
Elephant banging it's head against metal door over and over, nervous looking leopard pacing back and forth in a closet sized box with glass front.
And the gorillas looked numb... just sitting in the big cell being gawked at.
Some animals take fine to these conditions, but many don't, and those that don't should be respected enough to be accommodated.
Great place to go when the animals are more active (fall, winter spring). Not much to look at when it's too hot. Elephant show is always fun.
Zoo Lites is a must see during the Holiday Season. Arrive early to avoid traffic and parking issues.
The zoo is huge, with an amazing amount of animals that actually hang out in areas you can see themIt's a good zoo overall, with lots of room for most of the animals. The tiger area, elephant area and giraffe area are great! The staff is great. So much to see and learn.
How do you rate a zoo? The exhibits were awesome. Wasnt too packed when i went a couple weeks ago. Could use better snacks I guess? Overall a good exerience. Would recommend.
My family and I had a chance to visit the zoo while we were in the Denver area. So glad we could go. It was awesome seeing another city's zoo. The rides were nothing to go on about. The train ride is actually pretty short, the carousel was just that (better of the 2 rides.) But the ELEPHANT SHOW!!!! Holy moly! That was something I have never seen before. My 2 kids watched but the sea lion and the elephant shows and they were entranced by the elephants and all that Groucho was able to do! Heck so was I! We went when it was particularly hot, so drink lots and lots of liquids. The BBQ place in the zoo was more than happy to refill our bottles with ice water for free. It was a good hike and only part we missed out on was the primate area. Most excellent way to spend the day.
This zoo is small, but not too small! Manageable in one morning or afternoon with young kids. *The last time we visited I finally saw a mudskipper! Looked exactly like I thought it would from years of watching Ren and Stimpy.
Incredible! Large, informative, and a while lot of fun!
Had a wonderful time and felt safe throughout. Thank you!
